@Tom: Are you voting Macius for the same reasons as the others, or did you see something else?
I'm voting Macius because of his casting suspicion with no specifics whatsoever, and then falling back on an FoS because he doesn't see it as enough to vote. So yes, essentially the same reasons.
I will respond to people, as since I'll be V/LA friday until monday, its not even a choice. So expect a me to go through answering the questions I was asked to specifically.
As to FoS, I see it personally as a way to say "Im not comfortable voting based on the evidence thus far, but something seems suspicious here." Way I see it....

There is plenty of reason to test Macius' ability. Until Tomorrow, though, I am accepting Macius' Role for what it is.
I find it very hard to believe that someone who claimed to have such a strong case against Macius would suddenly shift gears on the sole basis of the claim. If you were so convinced Macius was scum, why do you trust his claim?
Seriously though, you have comitted a scum tell that I recognize from [redacted] and a few experienced players from [redacted] pointed out why that type of post is bad and, more often than not, comes from Scum. You are 99% scum to me at the moment.
And before you ask about Macius, I'm only accepting him as Town until his ability has been proven. Even if his ability is confirmed for what it is it still does not make Macius Town. Sure, the Razor would point in that direction, but it would not be confirmed Town.
Explain why his ability can't exist on a mafia member.
I'll be interested to know what this alleged scum tell was, once _____ hammers in _____. It will also be interesting to see the results of that hammer.
I'm not going to vote you yet until _____ is over and I see what this scum tell is. If it's legitimate enough, I'll accept that. Otherwise, you're going to be hounded for latching on to a weak shred of evidence.
Macius's claim doesn't reflect anything about his alignment. It could easily go to either faction in a specialty.
I concede to your accusation that I asked for additional clarification. I do in fact want additional clarification of why people are voting for Macius.
The "scum team." Who would that consist of, besides me an Macius? You've managed to sniff all of them out on day 1?
If I'm wrong, you can ignore this post and concentrate on my previous one. If this is the alleged scum tell, I'll go ahead and explain why it's different from what [name 1] said in [name 2].
[name 1] expressed delight at [name 3] having supposedly found all scum. I was very blatantly expressing doubt. The expression of delight is a faux attempt at seeming town: obviously scum wants to appear town and finding scum is pro-town. My expression of doubt was just the obvious. I didn't believe in the slightest that you had (or anyone possibly could) find the entire scum squad so early in day 1. The words may seem similar, but the underling meaning was very different.
I still think you're town for this (for now), and it's not going to help anything to dissolve into two towns tunneling each other. All I can say is that if you are town, your efforts will be better spent looking elsewhere. I was never convinced Macius is scum, so I'm getting the distinct feeling that the scum squad is flying under the radar and reaping the benefits of us bringing each other near lynch.
I don't really get some of these votes or the trepidation I am reading about Macius after his claim. As has been said before me his claim has no bearing on his alignment so the fact that it is testable is moot. In addition this has to be one of the most uninspiring claims I've ever seen. It wasn't even scummy, just very disinterested. Which given all that I'll default to my read before the claim of scum.
Also I might be posting sporadic over the next couple of days due to rolling power outages due to flooding.
I don't understand how those votes are considered reasonable by that many players. 1-2 people usually freak out over early/bad use of FoS, but to actually get someone to L-2 based on it and argue for te case is baffling me. It doesn't help that Macius is a newb and doesn't know any better. I think this case needs to dissolve immediately.

A “Thief” would not “trade” abilities by the definition of the word “Thief”. A “Thief” would steal the ability and leave nothing behind, because that is what a Thief does.

I just realized that I never voted for Macius after everyone unvoted.
Vote Macius
I don't think I've ever been a part of the game where there has been this much trouble figuring out who is voting for whom.
Why Macius over Swish? Saying that Macius stole Void's vote doesn't make sense, because why would he force Void to vote himself. Whatever's going on doesn't appear to be Macuis's fault.
Well except for our friend the vote thief. Which I'm guessing is either automatic or compulsive, because that's a bizarre application of the ability so early in the game.
I'm willing to claim without being pushed to L-2. In fact it would be interesting to see how Void responds to my claim compared to how he responded to Macius.

Make no mistake I am no fan of swishh, but I have serious problems with how Macius has acted and reacted to pressure from his self vote to his FoS to his everybody who is voting me is scum. And his uninterested claim doesn't really do anything other than say I should just keep sailing in the same direction. As such I think he is more worthy of my vote.
Well except for our friend the vote thief. Which I'm guessing is either automatic or compulsive, because that's a bizarre application of the ability so early in the game.
Unless that is what he wants you think so that you won't guess his insidious plot to take over the world using a rigged election to make sure his pet goldfish Bob is elected president. In fact he might not even be a he at all. But we are approaching Tilde level conspiracy theories here.
I'm willing to claim without being pushed to L-2. In fact it would be interesting to see how Void responds to my claim compared to how he responded to Macius.
TMCT is scum though.

My post wasn't directed towards you at all. What are you unclear about?
Void voted Swishh in 127. No other votes are cast until our 'Thief' Macius unvotes in 159.
Maybe he moves the last cast vote when he unvotes?
Let's test this, shall we?
Macius: please vote someone.
My post wasn't directed towards you at all. What are you unclear about?
First all posts are technically directed at everyone. It's like playing load music in a small room. The speakers might not be facing you, but you are going to hear it.
Second you are and have been making claims like "TMCT is scum" and give no context as of why. You are making statements like I (or anyone else who is not you) know why you are making them, which I don't, as you and I inhabit different bodies.
@Swishh: Can I just call you "Swish" if I forget the double H? Do you have any prior experience or meta information on StormBlide, or do you just think he is scum for being too worried about his vote in the RVS?
Sure. Here Asenion expresses slight concern in my vote for SB.
Oh ok. I didn't read it as paranoid because he's got a good point that his RVS vote seemed serious.
Let's see, please explain (not you Rhand) how someone coming out and stating "X IS SCUM" is not something that should be clarified immediately as not serious?
That is something that will be used to lead to my lynch after either:
A) Clarification is requested and I cannot provide it and I clarify it was a joke
B) The other person gets wagoned for the situation and a claim is demanded, etc.
At what point should I have clarified to avoid it having been scummy/paranoid?
Unvote, Vote swishh for opportunism and putting me intoa lose-lose situation.
Let's see, please explain (not you Rhand) how someone coming out and stating "X IS SCUM" is not something that should be clarified immediately as not serious?
Well given that you clarified the Rhand vote 16 minutes later and not "immediately" I think you should go back in time and ask yesterday-StormBlind that question.
As for me, I saw the Rhand vote before you clarified it, and I thought "that's an RVS vote," not "why is he voting Rhand for real?"
You know what, I'm not doing the time-between-posts-during-RVS thing again (hi Tom). StormBlind's response strikes me as genuine.
I'm not completely sure what's happening here, but it almost seems like TMCT didn't see my comment while he was posting, saw it after he posted, then decided to use it against me as he ending up doing here:
All of the above. But you're making a scene right now and it's peculiar.
I unvoted because I realized RVS was over and I had an RVS vote on SB. Apparently TMCT thought that my finding SB's behavior peculiar was grounds to keep my RVS vote on him/her, which I found scummy:
78 is where everyone forgot about SB and focused on Macius. Let's observe the shift in attitudes after this point.
Post 95: where Void decides that I'm scum. Up until this point, Void has been irrelevant, having only posted a random vote and a vote on SB for the aforementioned interactions. In the same post, he decides that Macius is scum as well. According to Void, both me and Macius are scum.
SB is all too glad to have the heat off in 103/104, requesting a claim from Macius.
The votes continue to pile on Macius until he claims:
I wake up exactly where I thought I would be.
Why I did what I did, I have no clue, but alas im at L-2
I am a town thief. I can trade my powers once with someone else. They gain my powers and I gain theirs.
Void keeps claiming that we can test Macius's abilities, but he still hasn't explained how this proves his alignment. At this point the vote switches to me. He dodges this in 137, and Asenion calls Void out on this in 138. Void self-admittedly refused to respond to Asenion in 139. (By the way, based on these interactions, I would be very surprised if both Void and Asenion are scum). However, Kosakosa mentions the possibility of coaching in 157 between Asenion and Void, and Tom says maybe.
A whole bunch of posts ensue about exactly why Macius was even voted in the first place, which to me is irrelevant. To me it just looked like a pile of random votes and some BS after-the-fact reasons.
TMCT finally re-enters the picture when Void and I start interacting, votes me (167), is immediately barned by Arianhod (168).
Tom (1): AtheistGod
Arianrhod (1): Kosakosa
swishh (2): The Most Curious Thing, Arianrhod
Macius (3): Tom, Void, StormBlind
With 14 alive, it takes 8 to lynch.
This votecount is correct.
Void's vote has somehow been moved from me to Macius. This supports my town reads on Void and Macius. It looks like a scum is trying to use a town vote to 1) make the voted person appear scum, 2) add votes on a town, and 3) make a town look scummy for voting a town.[/QUOTE]
Ravel's Sonatine doesn't have a fourth movement, so until we get this vote phenomenon sorted out, I don't think anymore people should be claiming or getting pushed for a lynch.
So anyways, I made a post that reeked of trying to be a suck-up to Guardman. Stardust, Rhand and Tom all come jumping in to vote for me. But lookie there, no justification for why they voted. Insane or not, I was taught that you should always show why your voting for someone.
While this post is fine on it's own, it does not mesh up with the next two posts below:
By, "I have no clue", I literally mean that I literally didnt even think when typing.... literally how I play mafia. Its why I dont play much, as it gets grating to others.
I question Macius about the "I have no clue" comment and his repsonse was that that he doesn't think when typing, literally, but looking back at the first post in the sequence here we can see that we have a contradiction becasue Macius did think about his play prior to scuking-up to GuardMan.
Void's vote has somehow been moved from me to Macius. This supports my town reads on Void and Macius. It looks like a scum is trying to use a town vote to 1) make the voted person appear scum, 2) add votes on a town, and 3) make a town look scummy for voting a town.

Why do you assume it's scum that is taking control of my vote? There is nothing ITT that supports that statement.
1) How does my vote being held in place make Macius appear scum?
2) The wording you have used your words to talk about Macius shows that you know Macius Town. "A Town"
3) Once again you referring to Macius being Town without an "if, and or but" applied. "A Town"
You're providing a reason on why you don't want to claim. What do you have to be affraid of here? The vote "phenonmenon" is a small hiccup in the road that will be revealed over time. Besides, without anymore information about how my vote was taken control of there is no need to continue the discussion. You're distracting away from your own wagon/claim and now soon to be lynch.
Swishh is scum this game. Please run him up and lynch him. I would help, but, yeah... Stupid Vote Contoler.

I said that's the way it looks. Lynch overrides (gov/mayor) are one thing. Straight up vote hi-jacking is another. As a town ability, it doesn't make a lot of sense.

How did you arrive at Asenion among that number? He's barely posted at all.
Also, while I'll agree that Void's argument here is not the strongest that he's laid out vs Swish, I think that your comments here are pretty weak overall. One could jump on Void just as much here if he had gone out of his way to note that he (Void) is town.
My thoughts at this point:
Swish continues to look poor to me.
Void reads like his town meta.
Asenion seems less ... snarky, than he did in Ataghan.
Guardman's had me busting up laughing all game. Null otherwise.
Macius increasingly feels like a setup to me. Void's vote being "stuck" on Macius sits poorly with me. Unless scum are gambiting hard, I can't reason my way out of that one.
Stormblind I haven't really been able to understand this game, but that might be because he's from a different "time" than I am, so to speak...so he's going to play differently than I'm used to.
TCMT seems quiet this game; as do Rhand and Tom.
Stardust reads like his town meta, although I'd like to see more content from him.
Upon looking at the player list, I now see AtheistGod and Jonpike are in this game as well. Have they posted -anything- yet? I have zero recollections of either of them doing anything.
Preview edit: a third claim within 15 pages seems suicidal, unless we're just going to mass claim and be done with it. We're hemorrhaging information here, people.
It also continues to make Swish sit poorly with me. He's already claimed, he's under pressure (and IMO reacting badly to it), and now he's demanding that a third player claim. Smells like scum fishing for information before being lynched to me.

We have two claimed PRs that aren't unilaterally town and generally have more utility as mafia -- we should be lynching either swishh or Macius. Preferably swishh.
So Void's pushing me and Macius wasn't rolefishing, but my wanting Void to claim is? Maybe Kosakosa should replace Asenion with Arianhrod on his list.
Regardless of my feelings on Macius, he brought his claim upon himself.
You weren't even at L-2 when you claimed. In fact, my by count, you had, and continue to have, a scant two votes on you.
How exactly is Void responsible for either you or Macius's claims? From where I'm sitting, Void was only doing what one is supposed to do in Mafia as town: apply pressure. Poke the tree with a stick and see what falls out. Explain how this makes Void scum.

TMCT is scum though.
Vote: The Most Curious Thing
Make no mistake I am no fan of swishh, but I have serious problems with how Macius has acted and reacted to pressure from his self vote to his FoS to his everybody who is voting me is scum. And his uninterested claim doesn't really do anything other than say I should just keep sailing in the same direction. As such I think he is more worthy of my vote.
Unless that is what he wants you think so that you won't guess his insidious plot to take over the world using a rigged election to make sure his pet goldfish Bob is elected president. In fact he might not even be a he at all. But we are approaching Tilde level conspiracy theories here.
I feel like we have a mindreader problem here. You say something and then expect me to read your mind on the rest. Unfortunately I have not been exposed to enough cosmic radiation to yet develop this power. Plus I would rather spend my time on more fruitful endeavors like gaining the power to control gravity using gamma radiation.
My post wasn't directed towards you at all. What are you unclear about?
Maybe he moves the last cast vote when he unvotes?
Let's test this, shall we?
Macius: please vote someone.
Real content content to follow.
Which led me to the pseudo-random:
Tom approved:
Rhand was right:
I joked:
Sure. Here Asenion expresses slight concern in my vote for SB.
Here's where things start getting interesting:
This compounds my comments about SB's paranoia.
Here TMCT does a 180 within 3 minutes:
I'm not completely sure what's happening here, but it almost seems like TMCT didn't see my comment while he was posting, saw it after he posted, then decided to use it against me as he ending up doing here:
I unvoted because I realized RVS was over and I had an RVS vote on SB. Apparently TMCT thought that my finding SB's behavior peculiar was grounds to keep my RVS vote on him/her, which I found scummy:
In 71 Void pegs me town.
Enter the vote count:
Void's vote has somehow been moved from me to Macius. This supports my town reads on Void and Macius. It looks like a scum is trying to use a town vote to 1) make the voted person appear scum, 2) add votes on a town, and 3) make a town look scummy for voting a town.[/QUOTE]
Ravel's Sonatine doesn't have a fourth movement, so until we get this vote phenomenon sorted out, I don't think anymore people should be claiming or getting pushed for a lynch.
Belowe we have a post from Macius where he details a post he made and how he went about setting up the post to appear as a suck up to GuardMan.
While this post is fine on it's own, it does not mesh up with the next two posts below:
I question Macius about the "I have no clue" comment and his repsonse was that that he doesn't think when typing, literally, but looking back at the first post in the sequence here we can see that we have a contradiction becasue Macius did think about his play prior to scuking-up to GuardMan.
More to come from my reread.
Mafia is game in which scum get voted to be lynched. Ideally votes appear on scum.
I don't know he is town. As I have repeatedly stated, I believe he is town. Why would scum hijack a vote and put it onto a teammate?
See my response to 2). The entire sentence began "It looks like..."
Why don't you want to figure it out now?
I am Megumi, Traveling Bard, Town Manipulator
Once per night, I may select two players, A and B. All abilities of player A will target B instead of A's intended target.
This is the worst post you've made this game.
Unvote
Funny how, following your logic, he also refers twice to you being Town in my bolded emphasis. Yet, you only acknowledge Macius as Town, but not you.
Good to know you aren't Town.
Unvote
Vote Void
I'm betting on Void, Asenion and Stormblind as the scumteam.
Vote: Void
Please prod AG.

We have two claimed PRs that aren't unilaterally town and generally have more utility as mafia -- we should be lynching either swishh or Macius. Preferably swishh.
