Cyan was the driving force behind the town in this game. Even though he wasn't always right, he made sure the game didn't stagnate, and was probably ultimately the reason why the town won.
Best Mafia Performance (Individual) -
kpaca (Seasons)
kpaca had no problems busing his buddies to the end of this game and won it with a lucky Cop claim. He was sketchy on Day 1, but no one really questions kpaca, and that was to his advantage. He earned this win and almost everyone who played in this game agreed.
Best SK Performance (Individual) -
Iso (Ozone Underground)
This was a toss-up for me. jd did an excellent job staying under the radar in Kill Bill, but the town imploded on itself in that game and as such I'm not inclined to say the victory was entirely his own. Shalako was another runner up for this one IMO, as targeting himself with the kill in the last Night of Animaniacs was simply brilliant. But it was a Smalltown setup and a Mini, and the mafia went down relatively quickly in that game. The reason I've voted myself for this one is because there were 21 players in this game (22 if you include the mod), and I was not anywhere close to being a suspect until the last Day. If I had forced one more mislynch and convinced dan to joint win with me, then I would have had the game completely under wraps. I imploded on the last Day, but even then, AE said he was considering letting me win to prevent a Neutral shutdown and the only reason E_P suspected me was because I was one of the 11 claimed Neutrals but yet was incredibly pro-town with my play - so given all of that, as well as being responsible solely if not largely for 3 of the 4 scum deaths, I think I earned this one.
Best Non-SK Neutral Performance (Individual) -
ganderin_dan (Ozone Underground)
This was another tough one. I considered pinkys_brain in Star Trek: Voyager because coupled with my Day 1 scheme, our WIFOM capabilities, and her discovery of Seppel as the SK, we completely rolled over the town and the SK in this one. However, dan definitely earned it because he made me feel like he wasn't a big enough threat to take out early on (even though he and Archonoid were inevitably the reasons why I couldn't win in the end), and managed to stay alive while efficiently scumhunting and attempting to coordinate his abilities to the best of his ability. He won after recruiting every living player into his quasi-cult and the Neutral Shutdown, and I think he earned his place here.
Best Town Performance (Group) -
Cyan's Impossible Game A (Cyan's Pick)
With such good overall play here and a total lack of good towns this year, what else needs to be said?
Best Mafia Performance (Group) -
Starcraft
Come on, we ended the game with more scum players than we started off with. We ran circles around the town and they were just all over the place. We earned this, despite the game being rather imbalanced towards the scum overall.
Worst Town Performance (Group) -
Avatar: The Legend of Aang
Dreadful. We all pissed on ourselves and ripped each other's throats out, lynched someone with the role "Traitor" who came back to life and didn't lynch them again, didn't lynch the scummiest person in the game, and didn't lynch the person who lied at L-2. Boo.
Worst Mafia Performance (Group) -
Deitriptychos
Void got caught in his FIRST POST and Daykilled on Day 2, Shark cleared iPot on Day 1 and incriminated himself Night 1, and Audinho PoE'd himself down to be the last scum. This all happened by Day 2.
Best (False?) Role Claim (Individual) -
Iso - Cyan's Impossible Game B (Alternate Universe)
I was a Vanillifier who could remove people's abilities if they claimed them. I removed ganderin_dan's HORRIBLE POSTING RESTRICTION. However, I knew he was town, both for his behavior and through modgaming, so I claimed to be a 50% Cop to those whose abilities I removed. My claim eventually made the scum decide I was too much of a threat to live, and I ate a Nightkill for it, having cleared dan and WoD for the endgame. Unfortunately, we managed to lose anyway, but it was a pretty good falseclaim and I'm really the only one who comes up with these things as elaborately as I do.
Funniest (False?) Role Claim (Individual) -
Cyan - Ozone Underground
I remembered something that made me change this from Dork Knight. Cyan's HILARIOUS roleplaying of his role in Ozone Underground definitely takes the cake. Seriously, go read it. I died laughing.
Best Town Player -
ced395
Even though ced can be easily led astray as town, the one thing that really stuck out to me is that ced caught jd in Kill Bill. That alone makes me feel like ced deserves this award, combined with his generally astute town play.
Best Mafia Player -
pinkfloyd
Even though pf's scum game is recognizable from a mile away, NO ONE EVER CALLS HIM OUT ON IT. pf has been responsible for more of my town losses when he was scum than I'm willing to admit. pf had a really good scum game and a really bad town game a while ago, but now his play's nearly indistinguishable in regards to meta, so his infrequent and brief posts are the only insight on his alignment - which makes it inherently difficult to peg him as scum.
Best Overall Player -
KittyCupCake
My first experience with KCC was as her scumbuddy in Starcraft. I barely knew she existed prior to that, but never knew how phenomenal a player she was until this game. She evaded suspicion completely despite my hardcore busing of her from Day 1. After that, KCC and I played together in Peso, and while I got her lynched (both of us were town), she presented a compelling counterargument. However, KCC really shined in Homestuck Mafia - once we stopped butting heads and started collaborating on our reads, I caught Void in his first post (again), and KCC set me on to Gricky, who I Vigged the following Night (since Void Roleblocked me on Night 1). KCC and my combined efforts were fundamental to the town's victory in Homestuck, but her read on Gricky is what got me started on the right path to begin with. She shows great insight and is difficult to catch as scum and a prime kill target as town.
Most Entertaining Player -
Seppel
SLOW-MO.
But seriously, Seppel is hilarious, and just about any other person who has played with him would agree as such. Wheat_Grinder and Megiddo were the other two people I considered for this, but Seppel just takes the cake.
Best Newcomer -
Voxxicus
Vox was dead-on in his reads in Checks & Balances, was mostly correct in OFWGKTA (a perfect scum win), and has already proven to be a fair scum player. Overall, I daresay that Vox is going to be a fantastic addition to our playerbase.
Mod Awards:
Best Game Design -
KittyCupCake - Deitriptychos
Before this game, I was going to hand the award to zindabad for Seasons, hands-down. But KCC created an elegant and brilliant setup in Deitrip that was fun for everyone, and that incorporated zindabad's randomized mafia method. Deitrip was also clever flavorfully, though not quite on the level I was hoping for - but this game is game of the year, in my opinion.
Most Creative -
Xyre - Ozone Underground
"Hmm, I wonder how many Neutrals I can fit into a game."
Best Flavor -
zindabad - Seasons
The flavor for Seasons was, simply put, inspiring. In fact, it inspired me to make my upcoming Specialty! Before Seasons, I was going to run a totally different game. But zindabad made me want to write an elegant game with original and beautiful flavor that didn't quite have the playerbase issues that Seasons did. Good job, zin.

Best Non-SK Neutral Performance: poggydude (Legend of Aang) (He played it perfectly)
Best Town Performance (Group): Cyan's Impossible (Group A, Cyan's Pick) (Because I heard they played well and can't think of a game on this list where town played well)
Best Mafia Performance (Group): Homestuck Mafia (despite losing, I unwittingly stacked the deck against them and they nearly won despite it)
Worst Town Performance (Group): Starcraft (Legend of Aang was bad but Starcraft was awful. It is by far the poorest play I have ever seen in my short time here)
Worst Mafia Performance (Group): Deitriptychos (All were caught easily. The game going to lylo was because of poor town play only)
Best (False?) Role Claim (Individual): Wheat_Grinder (Legend of Aang) (Because it won the game in the best way possible)
Funniest (False?) Role Claim (Individual): Iso (CCMVI) (Because no one lynched him for it)

Best Town Performance (Individual) - Cyan (Cyberpunk: Cyan was a wrecking ball in this game. Despite being two Mafia Teams, Cyan was able to figure out both teams and survived to the End Game.)
Best Mafia Performance (Individual) - Brinatoo (StarCraft Mafia: Came up with the idea to use the Engery that the Mafia Team had to gain a quicker advantage on the Town using a alignment swap ability.) Best SK Performance (Individual) - Iso (Ozone Underground Mafia: Iso, IIRC, was never though to be the SK, but still managed to be pro-town while doing so. Iso even got the Town MVP )
Best Non-SK Neutral Performance (Individual) - poggydude (Legend of Aang: Played his game perfectly and no one knew otherwise until he left the game for winning.) Best Town Performance (Group) - Deitriptychos Mafia: Main because of Iso, but the entire town had the Mafia Team figured out by the end of Day 1/start of Day 2.
Best Mafia Performance (Group) - StarCraft Mafia: Granted this game was imbalanced it was still a solid performance by the Mafia Team. Worst Town Performance (Group) - StarCraft Mafia: Felt like the entire town was running around like a chicken with it's head cut off.
Worst Mafia Performance (Group) - Deitriptychos Mafia: I (Void) was caught on my first post of the game and Sharkfinngan was caught shortly afterwards, but was confirmed after Night 1. Audihno was caught on Day 2, but survived to LyLo for poor town choices. Best (False?) Role Claim (Individual) - Iso (CCMVI Mafia: I can't describe how Iso claimed the role, but it managed too fool everyone in the game and allowed Iso to get is AWC and win with the Town)

Alright, since I basically never read games through until years after they're complete, I think I'm wholly unqualified to give out gameplay awards (though I'd say Most Entertaining Player is definitely Iso).
But I read a lot of setups, and I'm sure a few of you are aware I really am keen on setup design, so I thought I'd give out some of my own awards this year for designers. I've added some comments about what I was looking for in each award where I felt necessary.
(If anyone has any creative names for these, I'd be happy to have them.)
Best Mechanic: Goddesses, Deitriptychos Mafia (KittyCupCake)
I've pondered implementing outside-"players" for ages, and never came close to coming up with something like this. Nice job.
This is a very cool concept that I feel required just a bit more elegance in implementation. I think, if anyone feels like "remaking" a game, this would be a great place to start.
Best Role - Smaruwari, the Living Remembrance, Seasons Mafia (zindabad) Most Creative Role - Townie with a HORRIBLE POSTING RESTRICTION, Cyan's Impossible Mafia (Seppel)
No honorable mentions for these two, because it'd be a loooong list.
Most Creative Setup - zindabad, Seasons Mafia
zinda's dedication to the randomized mafia concept is quite impressive on its own, but any game with a few rules tweaks could be in theory randomizable. What makes zinda's games stand out is how he uses randomization as a creative limitation and opportunity - since his roles can go anywhere, he has to design roles we've never seen before by necessity. There are many roles in that game that are creative, but they stand out as much for the process that went into their genesis.
Honorable Mention: Seppel, Kill Bill Mafia
This is the kind of design I really like to see. Even when it doesn't work, as I feel happened in this game, it's ferociously unique. Personally, I'll take a weird game like this over the most tightly-wound, austere normal game any day.
Writer of the Year - Zionite, Cyberpunk Mafia
This award examines the use of flavor throughout the setup and how it makes the game better for all its participants. I particularly want to see the use of traditional literary techniques that seek to develop a full story, beyond the surface-level action.
I think Zionite has a lot to learn, but he already understands one of the most important rules of writing for mafia games - one most of us, myself included, frequently forget - atmosphere is essential. And Cyberpunk's flavor, I felt, was easily the most evocative of the year. It was a pleasure to read.
Honorable Mention: zindabad, Seasons Mafia
Designer of the Year - KittyCupCake, Deitriptychos Mafia
This award goes to the creator of what I believe to be the best setup of the year. This award is holistic - I look at the tightness of the setup, its creativity, its uniqueness, and its flavor.
I usually don't take a look at minis right after they're done - force of habit, bias toward specialties, who knows. But I took a look at this one after it ended, and am I glad I did, because this setup surprised the hell out of me.
What makes the game stand out is not just the level of creativity in implementing the mechanics, but how effortless the design feels. The three "eyes", the three goddesses, the roles with many facets and their own strategic limitations, the ability discovery, the randomization - the elements all feel totally natural in the setup. It's rare a mechanic doesn't feel somehow artificial in a setup - serving the gameplay itself, rather than the gaming experience. The game I hold up as an archetype here is Court Mafia, which I believe is the best mechanic-based game this site's ever seen. And I think this setup is as good as that one.
I'm amazed this was only KCC's second game, and can't wait to see what she does next. I know I'll be watching that one from the start.
zinda and I may disagree sometimes about his setups, but damn if they aren't always impressive. Of all the designers still working, I'd say I probably anticipate examining his setups the most. If only he'd let me see them beforehand.
Zionite was another designer whom I feel really worked terribly hard to make normal-level games feel like complete experiences. His flavor is great, as previously stated, and his game design was great, too; I'd like to see what he could do if he fully unleashed his potential.
(I had one or two more awards in mind, but I couldn't immediately recall any particular recipients to whom I'd give them. If that changes, I'll add them.)
Best Town Performance (Individual): Kpaca in Ender's (nod to Voxxicus, but Kpaca basically solved Ender's in Day 1, I just picked up the pieces after fanning the fire) Best Mafia Performance (Individual): Kpaca in Seasons (came from very far behind, navigated his way through a number of very skilled players) Best SK Performance (Individual): Shalako in Smalltown Animaniacs (the self-target on the NK was incredibly ballsy) Best Non-SK Neutral Performance (Individual): In interest of not self-nominating/my team from Ozone (which, to be fair, I think was awesome), Anaklusmos in Random Mafia 4 (this is really the only other option, IMO) Best Town Performance (Group): Cyan's Impossible Mafia (Cyan's Pick) (This was difficult to choose, from a lack of good options. Towns did not play well this year) Best Mafia Performance (Group): Avatar Mafia (nod to Starcraft, but horribly imbalanced) Worst Town Performance (Group): Flame Warriors Mafia (Lots of choices here, including Avatar, 1982, Stuff I Like & Club Flamingo) Worst Mafia Performance (Group): Deitriptychos Mafia (I think this is short-term memory on my part, something is missing) Best (False?) Role Claim (Individual): Iso in Cyan's Impossible Mafia (Alternate Universe) Funniest (False?) Role Claim (Individual): DRey in Kitteh Trek (how do you get modkilled for a falseclaim?) Best Town Player: TheIceMan (never ceases to impress me) Best Mafia Player: Azrael (his play in Boardgame reminded me why we hold him in such high regard) Best Overall Player: Kpaca if eligible, otherwise Iso Most Entertaining Player: Seppel Best Newcomer: Voxxicus (this is about as close as Artifice/I were to Iso last year, IMO)
Mod Awards:
Best Game Design: KittyCupCake, Deitriptychos (Goddesses were an awesome mechanic) Most Creative: Zindabad, Seasons (randomization, Æon Clock, innovative roles) Best Flavor: Zindabad, Seasons (did you read it?)
Most Interesting Role: Pick a name out of a hat of Seasons, really. The mason combo (Vheraphon, Capricious Cloud-Lord, Elemental of the Clouds + Melwayeen, the Blue Emptiness, Elemental of the Sky), Lheraz Bex, the Watery Manipulator, Elemental of Tides; Akaramol, Speaker to the Winds, Elemental of Gales; or Smaruwari, the Living Remembrance, Elemental of Memory? Honestly. Those roles were awesome.
Best Host: Zindabad, Seasons
I appreciate whoever nominated me in the official thread for best host, as I do put a lot of pride and effort into my hosting and setups (I think I can contribute more as a host than a player) but there's no way on earth I can take it.
I was also hoping to be able to self-nominate for Most Improved, but I see it A) doesn't exist and II) I don't think I really deserve it.
I, too, noticed that there were disappointingly few good towns to choose from, dan. I agree with you that worst town/best scum were up in the air for me in a lot of my choices.

Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
The game is not being dumbed down. Control is doing fine; Draw-Go is not the only kind of control. Aggro is doing fine; Red Deck Wins is not the only kind of aggro. Creature combat is an important core concept and belongs in every color. Mythic rarity is not destroying the game. People whine too much for no good reason. Magic is more popular than ever, so keep calm, brew some decks and play some damn cards.

I feel a tad uninformed to vote, but I just want to give a shoutout to Pinky'sBrain and the entire playerbase of Smalltown Animaniacs.
Every player who signed up for the game finished the game. There were zero replacements. I don't know how often this occurs (or if it has occurred this year in another game), but I thought it was an awesome thing to be part of.
I think I'll wait for the poll to come up to vote. I feel like I'd be throwing darts in the dark voting now.
Thanks for the kind words, Xyre. Flavor is the most compelling part of mafia for me, but I do still need work on creating original roles. I'm definitely proud of Cyberpunk mafia and I hope others consider the atmosphere as well. I always love to get feedback to improve my work.

Just read the setups on Deitriptychos Mafia and Seasons Mafia. Incredible work.
I did three games towards the start of the year, CIM, boardgame, and clue, enjoyed all three, but I missed out on a lot of the later games. Disappointing, since it looks like we had some really cool stuff going on.
I feel a tad uninformed to vote, but I just want to give a shoutout to Pinky'sBrain and the entire playerbase of Smalltown Animaniacs.

Best Town Performance (Individual): Wuffles (Chosen) Great reads throughout, and a perfectly executed claim to catch scum
Best Mafia Performance (Individual): Cyouni (Quantum) Sure, he wasn't 100% scum the whole time, but he was scum enough, and his behavior was flawless, even when the math was against him
Best SK Performance (Individual): jdisawesomesauce (Kill Bill) Simply beautifully played
Best Non-SK Neutral Performance (Individual): ganderin_dan (Ozone) Neutral shutdown was awesome, even though they didn't let me win with them
Best Town Performance (Group): Cyan's Impossible A -best town I've ever played with, made the game look effortless
Best Mafia Performance (Group): Starcraft
Worst Town Performance (Group): Starcraft
Most Broken Setup Performance: Starcraft (I'm not sure how much of this was great scum work, terrible town play, or the overpowered setup, so I'll just nominate it for all three)
Worst Mafia Performance (Group): Deitriptychos -this never should have reached endgame
Best (False?) Role Claim (Individual): Iso (Ozone) -great claim that was nearly enough to win it
Funniest (False?) Role Claim (Individual): Wuffles (Chosen) -he claimed his flavor as his rolename nearly getting him lynched
Best Town Player:
Best Mafia Player: I don't think I've played or read enough games this year to fairly vote for these
Best Overall Player: Iso -there was no player I was happier to have on my team this year than Iso, even if he drives me crazy sometimes
Most Entertaining Player: Megiddo -everyone's favorite flamingo
Best Newcomer: Voxxicus -such a great addition to our playerbase, I hope he stays for a while
Mod Awards:
Best Game Design: zindabad -Seasons is a beautiful setup
Most Creative: Seppel -CIM and Kill Bill were both crazy
Best Flavor: Xyre -I loved the Ozone story
Most Interesting Role: Seppel -and his horrible posting restriction, or almost any other role from that game
Best Host: Xyre -Ozone was the best game experience I've had in a while
* Starcraft Mafia should be stricken from the record since the town had to lynch Yanni(?) D1 to have any chance of winning.
Here's what I can come up with:
Best SK Performance (Individual): jdisawesomesauce; Kill Bill Mafia
* JD managed to perform 23 kills with only attracting an ounce of suspicion. (ced's ounce was quickly killed off)
Best Non-SK Neutral Performance (Individual): Poggydude (Hitman); Avatar: The Legend of Aang Mafia
* He had nothing but a two-shot kill. He killed the Avatar with his first shot, sending the town into a self-destructive panic, and killed his target with his second kill. All the while, everyone ignored him.
Best Town Performance (Group): Cyan's Impossible Mafia (Cyan's Pick)
* Manders gets modkilled, which makes the town struggle, but successfully get a big picture of the whole game. The mafia don't take advantage of their abilities. They use their kill on the unkillable townie. The mafia loses on Day 2.
Best Mafia Performance (Group): Ecophagy, Pinkys_Brain, and ~Tilde~; Cyan's Impossible Mafia (Alternate Universe)
* The unkillable townie gets killed day 1. Iso leads two mislynches based off of mafia counterclaims, then gets himself lynched. And then the mafia convinces the town to lynch the player who "falseclaimed" Kpaca.
Worst Town Performance (Group): Avatar: The Legend of Aang Mafia
* Fighting between Iso and AsianInvasion caused the rest of the town to be completely baffled by what was really going on, managing to create a mislynch, instead of lynching the player who was revived and revealed in the living player roster as a Traitor.
Worst Mafia Performance (Group): Seppel, DRey, Zasz, and Nai; Clue mafia.
* Zasz hops on a bad wagon and replaces out. DRey replaces in and makes insane claims. I freak out from Azrael's first post and know I'm going to lose. Nai remains under cover but my bus on him somehow fails. Our nightkill is blocked. We lose before Day 3, without killing a single townie.

if it's possible to vote for just one catagory, i would like to toss a vote for Seppel: Cyan, vanilla townie with a HORRIBLE POSTING RESTRICTION because I had that happen to me, i played it poorly and it caused me to quit playing mafia for years... then i come back to play in "one last game" and it gets abandonded due to people disappearing
I don't believe I've read/played in enough of the games to justify placing votes - but wanted to express my surprise and thanks for the award win. Was not expecting that, to say the least.
Just one thing that caught my eye:
Quote from Iso »
Voxxicus
Vox was dead-on in his reads in Checks & Balances, was mostly correct in OFWGKTA (a perfect scum win), and has already proven to be a fair scum player. Overall, I daresay that Vox is going to be a fantastic addition to our playerbase.
I haven't actually been scum yet!
I was town in Gotham Underground (named 5/6ths of the scum team day one, got shot night one for my troubles), town in OMGWTFBBQ, town in Hunger Games, and town in Checks and Balances (Was also town in King of the Hill, butttt I'm not counting that).
I'm a terrible scum player, and I dread the day that roll of the dice comes. I almost talked about my widely known scum tell, but since no one here knows it yet, I think I'll keep that hidden.
I'd forgotten about that, but not...exactly counting that, no. I replaced in, and then my job changed hours drastically before I could actually post. Was quickhammered the next day via PoE, and eh.
I think I could have swung the lynch onto iPot if I'd had the time to really pore through the thread and build a case, but that goes against how I play a bit.
I haven't forgot about this also, I'm just too friggin busy with real life and my games that I have no time to dedicate to this despite really wanting to. Can we have a little deadline extension because of holidays?
ALso, where's everyone else?

Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
The game is not being dumbed down. Control is doing fine; Draw-Go is not the only kind of control. Aggro is doing fine; Red Deck Wins is not the only kind of aggro. Creature combat is an important core concept and belongs in every color. Mythic rarity is not destroying the game. People whine too much for no good reason. Magic is more popular than ever, so keep calm, brew some decks and play some damn cards.

Best Town Performance (Individual): JD in Cyberpunk. Cyan had a pretty good showing there but JD opinions and plans had been always stronger, and in the end he convinced Cyan of following his plan (town could have lost if they had followed Cyan plan like they were doing). Special mention to GD in Enders, while he started weak (almost lynched D1) and was fooled by me for quite a bit, in the end he redeemed himself in a big way.
Best Mafia Performance (Individual): Kpaca in Seasons, I certainly had my fair share of objections of things he did that but results are results (and I'm probably wrong anyway). No one suspected him much that game and even when evidence pointed for him to be scum, they just discarded the evidence anyway.
Best SK Performance (Individual): Not even close, JD again, he played quite well, only being slightly suspected by Ced and me, then when the opportunity arrived he came with a quite ingenious falseclaim that convinced Cythare he had protected him the last night, when the truth is that he tried to kill him and failed!
Best Non-SK Neutral Performance (Individual): GD in Ozone, this one is not even close, he was methodical from the beginning to the end (both in words and actions), and every NK choices were very well chosen and paid in spades, I remember him saying he played chess there and I quite agree, this reminds me to never play chess with him, ever.
Best Town Performance (Group): Seasons Mafia, yeah the town lost that one, this doesn't mean they played badly though, I think this performance was a sight to behold, Iso, Xyre, Alpha, Pale, Artifice, all of them played very very well. Unfortunately for then Kpaca was on the other side! Special mention to CIM, Cyan's pick, probably they played even better than the season guys but I didn't follow that game very closely so...
Best Mafia Performance (Group): Another slam dunk, Flame warriors of course, I don't remember seeing such a dominating mafia last year, all lynches were mislynches and they even made the town lynch all neutrals for them to boot.
Worst Town Performance (Group): CCMVI Mafia, yeah town won that one, it also doesn't mean they played well, because they haven't by a far margin.
Worst Mafia Performance (Group): This is funny, because this award is the one I took more time to decide, dunno why, maybe because I usually sympathize with mafia more? Well, after thinking a bit I can only remember the mafia of Mafia Returns. Seppel, the mafia mastermind got lynched D1 with some questionable mafia choices (he chose the mafia team) and from there it was all downhill. This probably has to do with him playing like 6 games at once back there.
Best (False?) Role Claim (Individual): Kpaca in Seasons, certainly his claim had some holes, but he manuevered very well to the questions and won the game for the team.
Funniest (False?) Role Claim (Individual) TFF/KCC (CIM)
The way TFF handled his role in this game will never be forgotten by me, he not only searched and compiled thousands (:p) of quotes of Cyan but used them in such perfect context people didn't notice he had a horrible post restriction way late in the game. Incredible presentation that certainly required insane work and time and for this you deserve this vote.
Best Town Player: JD, I don't remember a poor showing of him, in any of his games, ever. This certainly counts for something, because everyone has bad days.
Best Mafia Player: DJCatchem. We have many great mafia players here, Seppel is always a special mention but I don't last year he was in his best form. DJCatchem despite rarely playing always impress me, kinda like JD, but JD is never mafia and DJC is always mafia.
Best Overall Player: Hard one, we have so many excellent players here. I think Cyan is a good option, he didn't play much though. Can't think of anyone else that's both good and played a lot though.
Most Entertaining Player: Megg, I don't know how to quite explain, but there's something about him that cracks me up, his avatars, the way he writes, everything is a package of funsies to me.
Best Newcomer: LenKenneth, she only played in one game, and in her first game she got a scum role, recipe for disaster? Think again! She swept away the town, and the town had some pretty good players in that game. I would love to see her back in action.
Best Game Design: This was a good year for game design, I quite liked Chosen, Seasons and Deitriptychos and Checks & Balances as the best designs of the year. My vote goes for Seasons because I felt the "all random" mechanic that was very well implemented and quite innovative.
Most Creative: Seppel, the guy is a fountain of good and innovative ideas, not everything falls into place but at least he's trying! One of the game designers.
Best Flavor: Considering Zinda is hors concours, I would say Zionite, the flavor and the attention to detail he put into his game was unmatched. I know I'm always playing in his games from now on, just because of this.
Most Interesting Role: Sgt. Grey - Janitor (Clue), this role was soooo cool, so many possibilities, however it was far from being overpowered, to me good roles are roles that have potential only if the pilot knows what he's doing, and this one was just this, it could do nice things, but boy, you needed to work on it.
Best Host: Zinda. Design, activity, flavor, presentation, the guy has it all. His evolution as a mod is noticeable since Grim Batol, it's funny but when I compare Grim Batol (that I quite liked back there) to his newest games, it's not even funny. Grim Batol looks like kid's play (I never thought I would say this ever).

Best Town Performance (Individual) -
Cyan was the driving force behind the town in this game. Even though he wasn't always right, he made sure the game didn't stagnate, and was probably ultimately the reason why the town won.
Best Mafia Performance (Individual) -
kpaca had no problems busing his buddies to the end of this game and won it with a lucky Cop claim. He was sketchy on Day 1, but no one really questions kpaca, and that was to his advantage. He earned this win and almost everyone who played in this game agreed.
Best SK Performance (Individual) -
This was a toss-up for me. jd did an excellent job staying under the radar in Kill Bill, but the town imploded on itself in that game and as such I'm not inclined to say the victory was entirely his own.
Best Non-SK Neutral Performance (Individual) -
This was another tough one.
Best Town Performance (Group) -
With such good overall play here and a total lack of good towns this year, what else needs to be said?
Best Mafia Performance (Group) -
Come on, we ended the game with more scum players than we started off with. We ran circles around the town and they were just all over the place. We earned this, despite the game being rather imbalanced towards the scum overall.
Worst Town Performance (Group) -
Dreadful. We all pissed on ourselves and ripped each other's throats out, lynched someone with the role "Traitor" who came back to life and didn't lynch them again, didn't lynch the scummiest person in the game, and didn't lynch the person who lied at L-2. Boo.
Worst Mafia Performance (Group) -
Void got caught in his FIRST POST and Daykilled on Day 2, Shark cleared iPot on Day 1 and incriminated himself Night 1, and Audinho PoE'd himself down to be the last scum. This all happened by Day 2.
Best (False?) Role Claim (Individual) -
I was a Vanillifier who could remove people's abilities if they claimed them.
Funniest (False?) Role Claim (Individual) -
I remembered something that made me change this from Dork Knight. Cyan's HILARIOUS roleplaying of his role in Ozone Underground definitely takes the cake. Seriously, go read it. I died laughing.
Best Town Player -
Even though ced can be easily led astray as town, the one thing that really stuck out to me is that ced caught jd in Kill Bill. That alone makes me feel like ced deserves this award, combined with his generally astute town play.
Best Mafia Player -
Even though pf's scum game is recognizable from a mile away, NO ONE EVER CALLS HIM OUT ON IT. pf has been responsible for more of my town losses when he was scum than I'm willing to admit. pf had a really good scum game and a really bad town game a while ago, but now his play's nearly indistinguishable in regards to meta, so his infrequent and brief posts are the only insight on his alignment - which makes it inherently difficult to peg him as scum.
Best Overall Player -
My first experience with KCC was as her scumbuddy in Starcraft.
Most Entertaining Player -
SLOW-MO.
But seriously, Seppel is hilarious, and just about any other person who has played with him would agree as such. Wheat_Grinder and Megiddo were the other two people I considered for this, but Seppel just takes the cake.
Best Newcomer -
Vox was dead-on in his reads in Checks & Balances, was mostly correct in OFWGKTA (a perfect scum win), and has already proven to be a fair scum player. Overall, I daresay that Vox is going to be a fantastic addition to our playerbase.
Mod Awards:
Best Game Design -
Before this game, I was going to hand the award to zindabad for Seasons, hands-down. But KCC created an elegant and brilliant setup in Deitrip that was fun for everyone, and that incorporated zindabad's randomized mafia method. Deitrip was also clever flavorfully, though not quite on the level I was hoping for - but this game is game of the year, in my opinion.
Most Creative -
"Hmm, I wonder how many Neutrals I can fit into a game."
Best Flavor -
The flavor for Seasons was, simply put, inspiring. In fact, it inspired me to make my upcoming Specialty! Before Seasons, I was going to run a totally different game. But zindabad made me want to write an elegant game with original and beautiful flavor that didn't quite have the playerbase issues that Seasons did. Good job, zin.
Most Interesting Role -
Seriously, pick a role. Brilliant.
Best Host -
See above for Best Game Design.

Funniest (False?) Role Claim (Individual): Iso (CCMVI) (Because no one lynched him for it)
Best Town Player: Cyan (ofc)
Best Mafia Player: Cyouni (He is good at living as scum)
Best Overall Player: Cyouni (He's just good at living period)
Most Entertaining Player: Iso (ilu)
Best Newcomer: Cythare (In just a short time he has become pretty good, so much so that I tried to masonize him in Deitriptychos)

Player Awards:
Best Town Performance (Individual) - Cyan (Cyberpunk: Cyan was a wrecking ball in this game. Despite being two Mafia Teams, Cyan was able to figure out both teams and survived to the End Game.)
Best Mafia Performance (Individual) - Brinatoo (StarCraft Mafia: Came up with the idea to use the Engery that the Mafia Team had to gain a quicker advantage on the Town using a alignment swap ability.)
Best SK Performance (Individual) - Iso (Ozone Underground Mafia: Iso, IIRC, was never though to be the SK, but still managed to be pro-town while doing so. Iso even got the Town MVP )
Best Non-SK Neutral Performance (Individual) - poggydude (Legend of Aang: Played his game perfectly and no one knew otherwise until he left the game for winning.)
Best Town Performance (Group) - Deitriptychos Mafia: Main because of Iso, but the entire town had the Mafia Team figured out by the end of Day 1/start of Day 2.
Funniest (False?) Role Claim (Individual) - DRey (Kitteh Trek Mafia/Who gets Modkilled for quoting their False Claim?)

I have no idea how I can get Best Mafia Player with my horrible win rate. I think I've won two games as mafia total.
Best Town Performance (Individual): Voxxicus, Checks and Balances
Best Mafia Performance (Individual): atlseal, Random Mafia 4
Best SK Performance (Individual): jdisawesomesauce, Kill Bill
Best Non-SK Neutral Performance (Individual): Anaklusmos, Random Mafia 4
Best Town Performance (Group): Cyan's Impossible Game A

Best (False?) Role Claim (Individual): KCC, CIM (Cyan's Game)
Funniest (False?) Role Claim (Individual): Infinis, Magical Gifl
Best Town Player: Voxxicus
Best Mafia Player: Seppel
Best Overall Player: Iso

Best Host: KCC, Deitriptychos
I remember the two games of mafia where you were mafia and I would've gone to my grave calling you town (and pretty much did, tbh).
Nice job.
Honorable Mention: Modular roles, Chosen Mafia (Tanarin)
This is a very cool concept that I feel required just a bit more elegance in implementation. I think, if anyone feels like "remaking" a game, this would be a great place to start.
Best Role - Smaruwari, the Living Remembrance, Seasons Mafia (zindabad)
Most Creative Role - Townie with a HORRIBLE POSTING RESTRICTION, Cyan's Impossible Mafia (Seppel)
Honorable Mention: zindabad, Seasons Mafia
Designer of the Year - KittyCupCake, Deitriptychos Mafia
Honorable Mention: zindabad, Seasons Mafia; Zionite, Cyberpunk Mafia
zinda and I may disagree sometimes about his setups, but damn if they aren't always impressive.
Experiments Series: #5 (Courtly Intrigue Mafia) | #4 (Drunken Tracker) | #3 (Big Red Button) - coming soon | #2 (Pope Mafia) | #1 (Iso's Inflammable Mafia)
Mini Games: MTGS Mafia Redux II (Invitational, Evil Mirror Universe) | Unreal City
Old Games (bad): The Greenwood Affair | Blood Moon Mafia
Best Town Performance (Individual): Kpaca in Ender's (nod to Voxxicus, but Kpaca basically solved Ender's in Day 1, I just picked up the pieces after fanning the fire)
Best Mafia Performance (Individual): Kpaca in Seasons (came from very far behind, navigated his way through a number of very skilled players)
Best SK Performance (Individual): Shalako in Smalltown Animaniacs (the self-target on the NK was incredibly ballsy)
Best Non-SK Neutral Performance (Individual): In interest of not self-nominating/my team from Ozone (which, to be fair, I think was awesome), Anaklusmos in Random Mafia 4 (this is really the only other option, IMO)
Best Town Performance (Group): Cyan's Impossible Mafia (Cyan's Pick) (This was difficult to choose, from a lack of good options. Towns did not play well this year)
Best Mafia Performance (Group): Avatar Mafia (nod to Starcraft, but horribly imbalanced)
Worst Town Performance (Group): Flame Warriors Mafia (Lots of choices here, including Avatar, 1982, Stuff I Like & Club Flamingo)
Worst Mafia Performance (Group): Deitriptychos Mafia (I think this is short-term memory on my part, something is missing)
Best (False?) Role Claim (Individual): Iso in Cyan's Impossible Mafia (Alternate Universe)
Funniest (False?) Role Claim (Individual): DRey in Kitteh Trek (how do you get modkilled for a falseclaim?)
Best Town Player: TheIceMan (never ceases to impress me)
Best Mafia Player: Azrael (his play in Boardgame reminded me why we hold him in such high regard)
Best Overall Player: Kpaca if eligible, otherwise Iso
Most Entertaining Player: Seppel
Best Newcomer: Voxxicus (this is about as close as Artifice/I were to Iso last year, IMO)
Mod Awards:
Best Game Design: KittyCupCake, Deitriptychos (Goddesses were an awesome mechanic)
Most Creative: Zindabad, Seasons (randomization, Æon Clock, innovative roles)
Best Flavor: Zindabad, Seasons (did you read it?)

Every player who signed up for the game finished the game. There were zero replacements. I don't know how often this occurs (or if it has occurred this year in another game), but I thought it was an awesome thing to be part of.
Thanks for the kind words, Xyre. Flavor is the most compelling part of mafia for me, but I do still need work on creating original roles. I'm definitely proud of Cyberpunk mafia and I hope others consider the atmosphere as well. I always love to get feedback to improve my work.

Oh I misread your post. I'll post with comments.
I did three games towards the start of the year, CIM, boardgame, and clue, enjoyed all three, but I missed out on a lot of the later games. Disappointing, since it looks like we had some really cool stuff going on.
It was a new fun setup that's why it worked I think...
And thank you Iso for the vote. I'll probably compile a list and post here one day...

Best Host: Xyre -Ozone was the best game experience I've had in a while
Here's what I can come up with:

Also, has other games been excluded from voting in previous years?
I'm nosy. Let me be.
You have no idea how hard is to run searches my work computer. It sucks that much.
Just one thing that caught my eye:
I haven't actually been scum yet!
I was town in Gotham Underground (named 5/6ths of the scum team day one, got shot night one for my troubles), town in OMGWTFBBQ, town in Hunger Games, and town in Checks and Balances (Was also town in King of the Hill, butttt I'm not counting that).
I'm a terrible scum player, and I dread the day that roll of the dice comes. I almost talked about my widely known scum tell, but since no one here knows it yet, I think I'll keep that hidden.
I think I could have swung the lynch onto iPot if I'd had the time to really pore through the thread and build a case, but that goes against how I play a bit.
ALso, where's everyone else?

Mythic rarity is not destroying the game. People whine too much for no good reason. Magic is more popular than ever, so keep calm, brew some decks and play some damn cards.
