EBWP: @ Eron: Luck un-voted after my last vote count so it should be back to me, Iso and GT with you with you, luck and fox waiting in the wings. Could you do us a favor and leave him on the back burner for a while and start looking at some one else. Don't particularly care who at this point though unless Zenjo also looks else where it might not be a good idea to look at him to closely. As I said to Iso I regard votes me as par for the course and a null tell this early.

I'm still confident in a Vitek vote for the reasons I mentioned before.
I'll also say that I am completely lost on the GT / breadcrumb / Yuri thing. I can't for the life of me figure out what I am missing.
Anyway, to reaffirm, i'm going to vote Vitek at this point, but need a votecount. I think he's L-3 but I am not positive.
I'm also at a loss as to the GT/Yuriko thing. It's apparently a read so I'm on my own with it I'm going to try and figure it out later.
Still wanting to put my vote in towards Vitek at this time, however depending on what Qfish and Proph come up with in terms of content, I might give a second look to people on my FoS list. It would have to be pretty spectacular to get me to want to change my vote at this time.
@ Wheaties, I know you were going to look at Vitek today, however can we also get your thoughts on Qfish now that he has posted?

Psh you guys! I take suggestions but I don't like to follow I like to do my own homework.
LN has always felt off to me, but not enough to vote for...yet. I'm still keeping an eye on him. Qfish feels worse to me than LN right now even though LN has posted more.
I'm keeping an eye on Gricky for the breadcrumb on Yuriko until I can feel 100% comfortable with it's reasoning.
@Kah, I haven't read anything on you since...you had an avatar from the crow? And I barely remember much from that time I do however know Iso is a sneaky one and I trust him as far as I can throw him.

Glad to here if Fox. If you want pointers on me go Little big planet and Supernatural are the only completed games I have. I was in Day 1 of Magic school bus but had to replace out.
Day 2 of Little Big planet is a good example of why i don't want to many people just barning us.
Iso remember I am hanging out with the Crafters which does mean close proximity to Abby(vligerdragon) and Syphon. I fear that they are corrupting us. Needless to say the images that went swanning through my head on reading that were deliciously NSFW.

Yeah that was me. What I said still reads true that was one hell of a defense.
At some point I do want to see behind the mask. I think we might have played together but can't place the style. Needless to say something seems familiar.

"Interesting" and, typically, "honestly" are scum words.
Really? I was about to say that's interesting <smirk> I just find it funny that "honestly" is a scum word. I would think it would depend more on context than anything else. I honestly use it in normal conversation as well. (Ok enough shenanigans for reals...and yes for those who can't tell, I'm being sarcastic)
@Foxlet your posting style seems different this game. What would you attribute that to?
It's because I'm actually letting loose a bit so my actual personality comes through.
In Cirque, since it was my first game, I was so hyper critical of myself that every post was scrutinized with utmost care. I generally tried to edit out everything out that wasn't directly related to the question/problem at hand so as to not to "confuse" anyone with chatter. I tend to ramble A LOT in real life.
I also know Iso, so I feel free to tweak his tail a bit.

I'll agree that the language is forced, but I think I remember LN posting like that in other games. I'm not convinced on LN, though I definitely see the possibility of him being scum.
Vitek is @ L-3 with and has Foxlet interested in voting for him. You still don't mind holding off your vote Foxlet as now the below has been dropped I definitely don't want this day to end just yet.
The number of times I have seen this. L-3 is nowhere even near the day being close to ending.
I don't think you're scum atm (especially because I'm trying not to tunnel you like I have so many times before lol), I'm just saying I disagree with that sentiment.
This is why I don't like to "pressure" vote people. I see it used often round here and I'm not very fond of it. Its a chance for people to jump wagons easy and hide their votes easily.
I disagree with that. In my mind, votes are synonymous with pressure until the last 2-3 votes.
Primarily addressed above. Vitek is doing what several other players do. You might not like it and I don't have to like it but it's a pretty common tactic.
One is that you are scum, and KNOW Yuriko is town. This would also explain why you would want to discuss it on day 2 or so. It would conveniently give you a "safety" net so long as you didn't do anything super scummy. We would be looking elsewhere and giving you a "free ride" as it were.
This right here is why I think Gricky is scum. He's my top suspect right now.
Iso remember I am hanging out with the Crafters which does mean close proximity to Abby(vligerdragon) and Syphon. I fear that they are corrupting us. Needless to say the images that went swanning through my head on reading that were deliciously NSFW.

Can you wait 'til Day 2? Kahedron or myself will tell you then.
Or, you know, I could tell you on day two. Unless I'm dead of course. Are you plotting my demise?
Also, I find W_G's idea that I'm somehow scum poorly thought out. He's got me and Vitek down as scumbuddies, and I know that it's not out of the question for scum to bus other scum, but as the first primary suspect on day one? I know it's WIFOM, but trying to bus a partner within the first hundred pages or so, making him the first primary suspect of the game is ONE HELLUVA GAMBIT.

Hey don't look at me its Iso's fault as usual.
I'm mostly convinced of your townishness though as I said there is a nagging suspsicion that you could be running 1 hell of a gambit of Annorax Bastard mod proportions and have the skills to pull it off. Seriously...Aside from Eron who is in the process of moving (If I remember correctly?) its been terribly quiet from several people.
I'd love to hear more from Zen, I'm still on the fence on how I sit with his read because he's not playing like he was in Cirque. Having said that, it was also a faster paced game.
Still waiting for Proph to catch up and waiting to hear more from Qfish after his hit and run.
I just wanted to point out a few problems I had with your post Qfish that jumped out at me. It's about the only thing I can manage to do at the moment
Your first quote of Gricky's was in response to Kah's which was post #43. Well before your post. It explains why he was talking about the grammar gaming. Take another look between that time. Several other people mentioned potential misspellings.
Disagree. Gricky had already responded to Kah's post #43 specifically addressing his views on the grammar claim. Although he didn't quote anything in the post i quoted to make it clear who he responded to, his reference of flavor gaming, a concept first introduced into the thread by Vitek and then again by me in the quotes i mentioned he could have been responding to, makes it clear that he was, in fact, responding to one of those posts. I would love to see an argument from you as to how Gricky is responding to #43, but I don't think one exists.
Quote from FOXLET »
Your Vitek/Gricky quote is just backwards. I don't know if it was on purpose to make Gricky look bad or because you were in a hurry.
Yes, that was my bad. Tags should have been switched. I do want to mention that its not quite the same brand of laziness that I'm accusing Gricky of, as its a simple mechanical error that went unchecked, not evidence of a deliberate decision to not bother fully understanding the thread. It does, however, reflect poorly on me, my apologies.
I responded to you, and you did mention the softclaim in your post. Specifically the part where you say "Yeah, I've always thought of softclaims as largely useless". So, that makes this point a misrep. And an especially dirty one at that, considering that you ignored the content in your own post to make your point.
That is exactly my point. I did not mention the grammar soft claim in my post. I mentioned soft claims in general, not the one currently under discussion. The grammar soft claim was so trivial and useless I did not feel it merited actual discussion, but I did want to express my views that all soft claims were essentially pointless and possibly dangerous. So, not a misrep. Also, @Foxlet: note that he is admitting he responded to me and not Kah there
Quote from GrickyTrimmick »
Second, you are ignoring the part of the post that totally refutes everything you are saying. That was a crucial turning point in the game, right after we exit RVS. The post before mine was Iso setting the trap with the Foxlet vote, mine was after Iso, quoting him with and agreement to his "Let's do this", saying I'm ready to move on to scumhunting too, providing a very protown mindset if you ask me.
Um. Um. How, exactly, does that refute everything I'm saying? Please elaborate. I don't see how it even touches on anything I'm arguing.
Also, I would like to point out: Here Gricky says Iso's willingness to end the RVS and start scum hunting to be a "very protown mindset". I find it telling that this is the first time Gricky has mentioned this, especially since his views on Iso have been the most fence sitting that Gricky has done the whole game
Quote from GrickyTrimmick »
Iso trap for some reason doesn't surprise me. I've never played a game with Iso up until this point, but for some reason I'm not shocked. I'm also leaning town at this point, although that is a very loose read considering the shenanigans Iso has pulled so far. But their pro-town sheninagans IMO.
The fence sitting I'm referring to. This is the most wishy-washy opinion Gricky has offered us. I'm reading hesitance to offer a firm opinion of a scum buddy into it, but I freely admit that I could be stretching.
Quote from GrickyTrimmick »
One vague line about something he found does not his reasoning make. Sure, he drops a weirdly-worded hint at what he's thinking, but how hard is it to tie that in with a barn that he would make? Not so hard methinks. I'm comprehending what I'm reading just fine. I just don't think that Vitek's half a line at the end of his vote is enough to clear him from barning in the future.
We disagree. I believe exactly that, that half a line about how his reasoning is different is very clearly not setting Vitek up to barn. At the very least, at some point someone is going to make him explain what he was thinking. He was bread crumbing that he had reasoning of his own -- even if he goes on to barn other reasoning, someone will make him give his original reasoning. Very poor play if you just want to get a quick lynch off a barn...
Quote from GrickyTrimmick »
I understood that Vitek is comparing the RVS of cirque to the RVS of this game. My argument was that he's comparing the random stages and finding that she's more random in this game and it means NOTHING. The game is in Random Voting Stage, an area designed for randomness. So she wasn't so random in her first game and now she's more random in her second. He's trying to make that into a meta argument that she's scum. You know what that says to me? She's becoming more comfortable with Mafia and the way it works. It's not a tell whatsoever, as most things in the RVS aren't.
I agree with you that Viteks argument is awful and that nothing of value can be gained by comparing RVS's. I disagree that you understood that several pages ago, as evidenced by the language you used back then.
Quote from GrickyTrimmick »
Also, read the rest of that case on Vitek and tell me I didn't understand that he was comparing the games. In paragraph I wrote above the bit that you failed to quote, I extensively write about his two game comparison. That's a paragraph that you happened to leave out of your Lazy=Scum case or whatever you want to call it. It's a misrep all the way.
OK. Hold on:
Quote from GrickyTrimmickThe reasoning behind the vote is confusing and shortsighted at best, scummy at worst and most probable. Remember how I said that Vitek was basically waiting on Iso"s reasons hoping to copy those? That explains why these reasons are confusing. He acknowledges that this is only Fox"s second game but still feels that it"s ok to compare game 1 with game 2. Note that Fox hasn"t played a completed scum game yet, meaning there is not meta for a scummy fox. Even if there is a significant difference in both games, it doesn"t mean anything because we can"t compare that difference in playstyle with a recorded scum Foxlet. [/QUOTE »
I assume thats the paragraph you are referring to. If there's something in there that says you know he's comparing RVS of game 1 to RVS of game 2, please point it out. Because thats my argument, that Vitek was comparing RVS to RVS and you repped it as non-RVS to RVS due to lack of comprehension. Nice misrep of my argument, btw
So your case is comprised of misunderstanding, misrepresentation and the selective quoting of relevant information. Also fancy statements like the bolded at the end, also misreps. Man, I can't help but think that if you nailed me as scum with laziness and such, you should be able to throw a whole list of suspects down.
Wait, no, just a hunch on Iso and nothing else. You've been tunnelvisioning me this whole time, while posting little else. I think it's possible you are the lazy one, the scummy one for posting a rushed case of misrepresented facts. Foxlet made a good argument to this effect.
You seem dead set on saying the bolded phrase as many times as people will let you. Why don't you lay your reasoning out for that. Tell me your mindset, your thought process on how it's impossible for me to be a townie? I don't think it's impossible at all, and in fact it is highly probably for me to be a townie based on my play. But I just don't see how you can have me 100% scum based on your posted case./QUOTE]
YOu'd think if I stated it so many times you would understand, but the key to my argument is that your in depth analysis coupled with a clear willingness to not fully comprehend the thread is not possible of a townie. Townies want to be right, and therefore make sure they understand before doing so much analysis. Scum just want to produce a case -- they know alignments, they do not have to do as much real work. That's why I don't have a list of suspects based off of misunderstandings -- while other people have clear evidence of not following the thread, they have yet to base large and clearly time-commital analysis off of those misunderstandings.
I do want to mention that I can't think of a single town motvation for Gricky town thing out there at us, but I can think of several scum ones.
Oops. Sorry. That should have read "...I can't think of a single town motivation for throwing the yuro town thing out there at us..."
Again, same as I said to Foxlet: its not the same brand of laziness that I'm using against you
And to elaborate on the point and make a bunch of people mad at me: Throwing the yuro thing out there without any content on their part is a very clear breadcrumb to some sort of mechanical knowledge. I don't see any townie reason for doing this. As a townie, you should play that close to the chest right up until we almost mislynch whoever you have information on, and depending on the source of your info, maybe let the mislynch happen. As scum however, bread crumbing it allows you to prove it later if your credibility is in question and establishes an alibi of some sort. I really don't like the play. I admit, however, that I'm fairly inexperienced with mafia mechanics and maybe someone else can come up with a townie reason for throwing this out there. Please inform me if so.
[QUOTE=FOXLET In answer to the last question...yes. I'm sure Wheat, Iso, Proph and Kah have all done it several times when they were scum. Go back and read the thread again. Somewhere early on Iso made a comment to Eron about finding scum. It was based on trying to figure out MOTIVES for what they would do not just what they were saying in the thread.
Having said that, so far I don't see anything you have brought up in regards to Gricky's motives behind his content or preparation besides scumhunting. Granted, I'm not willing to give him a free pass, but I have him definitely more on the town side than I have you at the moment.
I'm beginning to suspect I'm not expressing myself clearly. That was question was an example of WIFOM, not something I wanted answered. That entire quoted post was saying that I'm basing my argument based on motives as evidenced by preparation rather than on the actual content. The idea being that there wasn't enough preparation behind the extreme amount of content generated for a townie, but quite possibly enough for scum.
My apologies if I've been unclear somehow...
Sorry about the triple post. I'm done for now. Reread the thread, responded to what I felt needed to be responded to. Right now my top scum suspect is Grim. I still don;t like Iso, but I reread the entire thread and I can't figure out why. I like to play this game logically, so I'm moving him back to neutral for now.
I would love to see an argument from you as to how Gricky is responding to #43, but I don't think one exists
You got me being tired on the quotes, I just didn't go back far enough when I was responding originally As I said, mistakes happen to everyone, and it looked like you were doing manual quotes on the embedded quotes so I was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt.
I went back and read every single post that even mentioned Kah's original suggestion of talking about potential errors in PM's which was post #43. After reviewing it again, you were correct in that Gricky had responded about the error in the PM's previously. Post #49 was the first post he mentioned PM errors (he said he would check his), #51 said he had checked his PM and it was error free as far as he could tell.
So in regards to the actual grammar gaming comment, as I said I reviewed every comment again, starting with Kah's #43. Gricky can speak for himself, but after looking it over again I think that his comment was primarily a joke based on the way he delivered the content.
Ah, but you see, it's not flavor gaming! It's grammar gaming! A much more useless way of gaming a mod. Grammar gaming will more than likely have absolutely no impact on the game, seeing as how the mod can misspell something in both town and scum role pms, so it doesn't imply guilt if we do have a misspelling.
Speaking of which, why are we even doing it? I know it was to move us out of RVS, but doing so with a pointless softclaim seems, well, pointless.
To me, he is being serious, in asking why the soft claim, however he's also stating his opinion that it's not flavor gaming and all in all it's pointless...but delivered with humor (thus the whole grammar gaming bit since it was about checking PM errors).
I responded to you, and you did mention the softclaim in your post. Specifically the part where you say "Yeah, I've always thought of softclaims as largely useless". So, that makes this point a misrep. And an especially dirty one at that, considering that you ignored the content in your own post to make your point.

I caught that when I re-read as well.
My thought here is that you are talking about apple and oranges but both fruit nevertheless. In your post here you say soft claims are largely useless. Note, just soft claims in general...NOT the ones about grammar that are currently going on in the game. Gricky was also talking about how soft claims are pointless, but was also saying specifically that the grammar issue was also pointless (which is specific to the game at hand). Making sense?
Also, I would like to point out: Here Gricky says Iso's willingness to end the RVS and start scum hunting to be a "very protown mindset". I find it telling that this is the first time Gricky has mentioned this, especially since his views on Iso have been the most fence sitting that Gricky has done the whole game
If you ask anyone who has played regularly with Iso they probably couldn't get a good read on him either, he's too sneaky for that. It's why out of everyone here I trust Iso the least...always I'm willing to say for NOW, he seems marginally town-like.
And to elaborate on the point and make a bunch of people mad at me: Throwing the yuro thing out there without any content on their part is a very clear breadcrumb to some sort of mechanical knowledge. I don't see any townie reason for doing this. I'm pretty inexperienced with a lot of mafia mechanics, I still haven't been able to figure the Gricky/Yuriko thing out yet. As I mentioned previously I can think of scum reasons for it but I haven't been able to think (or do research) into any town reasons. Does it mean there aren't any, nope. As I've mentioned, I'm willing to keep an eye on him for now anyway.
quietfish, I'm not sure how you can come to the conclusion of "Gricky is fence-sitting on Iso" when it seems very clear to me that he said "Iso seems town - it's not a solid read, but it's there."
If anyone has any questions about how I typically operate in Mafia games, you're certainly welcome to ask.

Leaning Scum: Arnnaria - Post #168 - Also, I don't like his reasoning for having Chickenfish and Gamora on his town list. Gamora - Post #168 - Almost a FoS for Gamora since his being on my leaning scum list are based on his interactions with Arnnaria. Also how people had different ideas of the term bandwagon. Chickenfish - Post #119 - Way too defensive.
FoS: Eron - Has both good and bad posts. Not sure what my read on him is quite yet. Battlemaster - Most of his posts are in response to other posts and don't seem to have much strong opinion or reasons, seems too hung up on KCC and only has one reason for targeting her.
Neutural: Wheat_Grinder - Gone til Tuesday, not enough posts. Miracule - Neutral by way of not enough posts. I like how he jumps right in and posts a list of his own for his first 'real' post. Gigas1 - Don't see anything scummy in his post, like his reasoning, but neutral because of a lack of posting. KCC - Besides her last post (#205) and when she voted Chickenfish, the only thing she has done is explain why she was going to wait before giving her reasons.
Leaning Town: Foxlet - Good posts, but few. Like the reasons behind her suspicion list. Manders - Actively participating in discussions, can't find anything scummy.

Posting to say I'll post more tomorrow. Have to get up at work in the morning at 5 am. However, if I don't post at all in the next several days, know that my house has been run over by a tornado. Hopefully it doesn't come to that, but karma's a ***** and I've got it coming!
Also, saw that QF posts, I feel he's really reaching with most of his arguments and also just not seeing the picture very clearly. Foxlet keeps on getting townie points for making solid arguments, such as the apples and oranges bit. Will answer tomorrow, but I hate these wall-post-wars, so I'm probably not going to go much further with it if it continues being nitpicky. QF is tunnelvisioning on me hard for whatever reason.
Also, Vitek has absolutely disappeared. Hmm.

I don't see how I could come to that conclusion either. The conclusion I came to, and that I might have been unclear in expressing, is that Gricky's stance on you is far less definite than every other stance he has expressed. Not fence-sitting, but closer to it than elsewhere.
However, after Fox reminding me of your general style of play, I retract that whole argument. I did read Cyan's impossible mafia....your play was terrifying. In every sense of the word.
Oh, I forgot to mention: my main problem with Zenjo's post is that he has yuro/proph as neutral and grimtricky as leaning town. There's almost no way any town read on grim shouldn't carry over to yuro/proph imo, as I can't envision a scenario where town grim tries to clear yuro/proph like this without being 100000% sure.

This is my third account on MGTS used for mafia playing. I think my first game was started back in 2007 and while I was playing I have tried to be in the Maximum 3 games I'm allowed to be in at a time.
At some point I do want to see behind the mask. I think we might have played together but can't place the style. Needless to say something seems familiar.

I'm doing a major re-read.
I'll agree that the language is forced, but I think I remember LN posting like that in other games. I'm not convinced on LN, though I definitely see the possibility of him being scum.
The number of times I have seen this. L-3 is nowhere even near the day being close to ending.
I don't think you're scum atm (especially because I'm trying not to tunnel you like I have so many times before lol), I'm just saying I disagree with that sentiment.
Not a big fan of that. This is why I can see the possibility you as scum.
I disagree with that. In my mind, votes are synonymous with pressure until the last 2-3 votes.
Primarily addressed above. Vitek is doing what several other players do. You might not like it and I don't have to like it but it's a pretty common tactic.
This right here is why I think Gricky is scum. He's my top suspect right now.
Qfish leans town for me. I like some portions of his reasoning, but I've got Iso as leaning town as well (yeah yeah I know).

I know it's WIFOM, but trying to bus a partner within the first hundred pages or so, making him the first primary suspect of the game is ONE HELLUVA GAMBIT.

Also, @Foxlet: note that he is admitting he responded to me and not Kah there
Um.
The fence sitting I'm referring to. This is the most wishy-washy opinion Gricky has offered us. I'm reading hesitance to offer a firm opinion of a scum buddy into it, but I freely admit that I could be stretching.
I agree with you that Viteks argument is awful and that nothing of value can be gained by comparing RVS's. I disagree that you understood that several pages ago, as evidenced by the language you used back then.
OK. Hold on:
Oops.
To me, he is being serious, in asking why the soft claim, however he's also stating his opinion that it's not flavor gaming and all in all it's pointless...but delivered with humor (thus the whole grammar gaming bit since it was about checking PM errors).
If you ask anyone who has played regularly with Iso they probably couldn't get a good read on him either, he's too sneaky for that. It's why out of everyone here I trust Iso the least...always I'm willing to say for NOW, he seems marginally town-like.
