I'm asking you because the best way to get that kind of information is to investigate by yourself. You can't really know if scums will tell you the truth, so you will end up investigating by yourself in the end.
And when you do, you will tell us the results of your investigation.
...
and probably we won't believe you and will perform our own research.
Your paranoid responses to questions and general events make me suspicious of you. Why are you being paranoid about a simple question about experience?
Seconding this. If it's so easy to find out, why not cut out the middle man and tell us?
On forums? Zero experience. On IRC? Don't think I lost, but wins don't really count in 4 player games (also, Megiddo, did what did we end up deciding from that setup yesterday? One possible outcome where we didn't both win?)
As I mentioned, I was playing in the same game that Megiddo is currently still playing in, I was mafia, and I was lynched on the second day. I am not mafia this time, but the experience of having been so before gives me some information as to how they will proceed and the sorts of mistakes they might make.
Megiddo is just imitating his idol, Clock King, in asking for experience checks. I would like everyone to follow up on this, it is not a particularly scummy request. Knowing what experience you have helps us interpret your actions, and failure to respond will be considered unwillingness to cooperate with the town, which makes you at best little asset to the town and at worst scum.
A case in point of why this information is useful:
(emphasis mine)
The town do not lynch at "night," this is when the scum kill people. Knowing that Brofaux is totally new to this, I can attribute this to his lack of understanding instead of being automatically convinced that he is scum who made a major slip. Of course, this doesn't remove him from suspicion.
However, I would say that Pancho's entrance has been much more generally suspicious, and his attitude stands out as newbie scum. I would like to keep the pressure on him until he convinces me otherwise, therefore, I will Vote PanchoPonceN.
At this point, my train of thought basically mirrors GM's. While I'd like to wait for the remaining three to post first, I will at least Finger of Suspicion Pancho.

This is a much better explanation than what Megiddo offered. I'm gonna cooperate now.
My experience is limited to two games. One in another forum a long time ago. I was townie and it was an unfinished game. My other games was in this game as a townie again. We won.

If you're going to examine every arbitrary word and attribute remote conclusions to it, you might as well say that everyone is suspect.
And I don't think that Pancho is the mafia man. I don't see any evidence for it. EDIT: Upon rereading his posts, it does seem a bit suspicious... I can't tell if that's how he normally acts or if it's a giveaway?
If mom is right in that a lynch is better than no lynch, then I'll still go with M_E. Or roll dice. At this moment though, I will stick to no lynch until votable evidence is found or until we come to a majority consensus that we should lynch. Mom says it will improve the chances of townsurvival, but I'm not sure.
So let me ask:
Should we lynch at all this round?
Also, quick q: I was under the impression that only one of us is Mafia? How many are there? Is three the confirmed number? Or is that to be a mystery? Cause if it is three, then I would change from [no lynch] to for a lynch.
There is no confirmed number, only the scum know how many of them there are, and there could be additional factions as well (such as a neutral). Mod mafia began with 13 players, and the opinions I heard were that three mafia is most likely for that number, with four being possible but putting the town at a disadvantage (I can't comment further since I actually know how many there are). I'm sure there's a post somewhere around this forum that can give you a better idea, or you can browse past games to get an average, but I am operating on the assumption that there are three scum in our game. There may also be neutral roles, which commonly win as long as they are alive at the end of the game (when either the town or the mafia all die). One possibility is a serial killer, someone who makes an additional night kill on their own.
So if that doesn't answer your question, Brofaux, yes, we should lynch by the end of today (game time), since we have decent odds of hitting mafia even at random, and the information provided even by a mislynch will be useful.
Also, analyzing every single word is exactly how this works in the forum version, you should probably get used to it.
Pancho, it's somewhat difficult to establish guilt or innocence at this point with the lack of "hard" evidence. Providing sound analysis that leads to the lynch of scum, or demonstrating a town power role, are the only ways we can really be sure that you are not scum.

Well, if I can't prove my innocence today, may my death help my fellow townies to achieve victory in the end.
Yes. I learned that Mafia game isn't a game of friendship. Is a stressful game of paranoia.Yes, we should. It usually unleashes a lot of information to use for next days.
You admit that you are under stress here. I felt a lot of stress in the other game when I was correctly accused of being mafia, but it has never been terribly stressful to be wrongly accused as town (in chat mafia or IRL games). Perhaps others' experiences may differ, but for me, this is reason to keep the pressure on you, Pancho. I am sufficiently convinced to hold my vote here unless someone else makes a major slip, but I agree that we should get everybody speaking in here before any actual lynch happens. Looks to me like we are about three days in, those not posting have one more day before they will receive warnings according to Prophylaxis' post. I don't know if he is willing to PM them as a prod before that, but we could also request that they weigh in if we see them in chat (do not discuss the game, just ask that they check it).

Do not edit your posts. Brofaux has been given a warning. This will be a demonstration to all of you: The next person to edit their post will be modkilled. Please use EDWODP (Edit by way of double post) instead of editing posts.
EDIT: First of all, moderators of games can edit their posts. Second, void_nothing, Rithaniel, and Vishamon have been notified. If they do not post by then end of tomorrow, then they will be given warnings.
This is my first time ever playing mafia, I am not afraid to say that, however, I've been reading and thinking while I abstained from posting.
This point in the game seems to be pure here-say and intuition. Any statement that isn't an egregious error can be construed to either appear as being scummy or townie. For example, I am going to go ahead and make the claim that I am a townie. Obviously, you can't make any inferences from this statement. Another example: GM's approach to the game. He has taken lead and begun slamming into Pancho pretty hard, and Bro before that. This could be scummy as he wants to throw townies into doubt, or it could be a townie action, as he wants to make the best possible decision for the town, and eliminate a goon early. The way he is going about it, almost puts him in a position of control and dominance in the game, which you would want more-so as mafia than as town. Then again, I might be mistaking general talkativeness for an attempt to place himself in a dominant position, in which case he simply wants to be thorough and pick apart posts, there-by making him more in a townie position.
Pancho's admission of stress could likewise be either scummy or townie, as no one likes to die in the first round of the game, and, as a townie, he would be stressed about being singled out by someone who he wasn't sure was a mafia culling the herd or a misguided townie.

This. I don't want to lose. This is a competency. I want to win. That's stressful for me (but not at the levels that GM implies).
That's why I prefer cooperative video games like Rock Band.

As for me, I'm going to continue watching.
I have decided to try to lead the town Day 1 for a couple of reasons. I do honestly feel that Pancho is scum based on my recent experience being newb scum, so I want to continue to analyze him, I'll admit that we have little to go on at this stage but I have a strong feeling about this hunch. I think he is now trying to blend in with the town to avoid suspicion.
Another reason is that if I set myself up as a prominent town analyst, it puts the mafia into a difficult position. They can go after me, but any power roles on the town side will also have an obvious target and may be able to thwart the night kill or get some information. If the mafia decide to go after someone else, they will have to contend with me on the next day again.
