@TFF: I'm not so sure it was so much MH trying to act like she was random voting as it was she was terrified that both Azrael and me were on her case about the vote. Her options at that point are to stand up and take us on or to drop the vote and hope it'd fly.
I'm inclined to believe I'm right about that (her being afraid) because of the line you quoted. It's the worst thing she's posted this game, by far; Az had already quoted that post, and it's one I had noted mentally, myself. That sort of appeal to emotion strikes me as something scum Manders would fall back on when she comes under pressure. She's not a strong debater - at least in what I witnessed at the end of Return to Amistaria - so rather than have conviction in her "read", she's trying to play the pity card.
Honestly, MH has been so... wrong at about every turn I have a hard time saying she's definitely scum through her actions. The only part that's stuck in my craw is the obvious lack of conviction behind her responses to my vote, the shifting nature of what she was (apparently) calling scummy, and the use of charged words that have little meaning (fishing, opportunistic, etc.).
Actually, that's worse than I though having written all that out.

It's really irrelevant now since he's definitely scum, but it could show you're his buddy attempting to bus. But I really doubt that. Not many scum players are willing to START a wagon on their buddy just to bus.

Man that posts bugs me.
It seems really pointless to point out how you disagree with a wagon only to ultimately get on it anyway.
Manders, there's no way you're going to convince me that TFF is scum based on his play up to this point. I'm reading his "vote Cyan" post as a specific attempt to draw out responses in a completely pro-town way, and then the fact that he changed his mind instead of pushing for what could become multiple unnecessary claims also indicates that he thought better of it. A scum looking trying to fish with that vote would have been too hopeful of getting responses to change his mind without trawling a bit first.
You, on the other hand...I think I can get behind you being scum. You haven't demonstrated anything but concern for your own skin, and you've done your level best to escape from confrontation.
Wit's End is the PERFECT answer to your opponent's Monomania however.
Just hold on to your Wit's End when they Monomania, so you can Wit's End them on your next turn!!!
I think this is fairly reminiscent of the "Jace Battles" we have seen in past standards.. My guess is we will soon witness the great Monomania-Wit's End battles.
Oh, yeah, absolutely. Because it's frustrating to be attacked for bull**** reasons. Surely you can relate to that, eh, Mr. **** THIS GAME in Doha?
Wow; you really went there. This post reminds me of a lady I work with, Manders. When she's about to go down for something she screwed up, she reaches out to drag down the nearest person with her that she can point even some semblance of blame.
I'm sad on a personal level that you'd even drudge this up again; but it just reaffirms my desire to vote you on a game level because of what I said above. It looks like a desperate move to tie two completely unrelated scenarios together.

Since I voted for the path he took to make that serious post I'm not sure how you are clinging to this point. What you've been saying this whole time makes little sense. It's not that he was participating in RVS it's that he backtracked in order to answer the question. Now if we skip ahead a little from your post you can see:
Manders, there's no way you're going to convince me that TFF is scum based on his play up to this point. This is analysis that explains why TFF did what he did and why it's not scummy for him to post the way he did. It makes a lot of sense if you look at the events in this fashion. What you (Manders) have done has been very haphazardly defending TFF leading into lashing out against him when he voted for you.
And yet your meltdown to pressure is so bizarre I'm not sure what to make of it. If you ended your sentences with "brother" then you'd be doing a damn good text-based Hulk Hogan impression. How we played any games together where you've been scum since Joss Whedon?
EP: let me ask you something. What, exactly, were you hoping to accomplish by asking that "Is everybody Cyan" question in the first place? Like, did you think it through?
It accomplished everything I wanted it to - the question got its answer and I was able to gain some useful analysis from the responses.

This is a great summary of the situation and just makes Manders look even more guilty. I'm going to throw the dreaded OMGUS term out here because the change of heart is very obviously driven by interactions (or lack thereof) with TFF directly, not based on a case of any kind. The post-justifcation for her vote 'Oh I forgot earlier when he ignored me' just demonstrates that fact. It also feels tacked on to give proper "reasoning".

No worries; I'd just like to forget Doha ever happened.
I had a bad day, and then compounded it by trying to use someone I respect (Az) as a lightning rod for criticism to change an entire game's playerbase culture. Poor decision on my part that offended multiple people in the process. That's why I left the game - it wasn't about me being attacked.

So- while we wait for Manders to compile a list of points that she wanted TFF to respond to that she hadn't listed yet - or something like that -
Eh, I worded it badly. I had made posts, directed at him, that had questions, and he completely ignored them. I wanted him to NOT do that and respond to them.
WHY DYH'S POST WAS BULL****:
For reference, here is the post DYH made, with relevant information bolded:
@TFF: I'm not so sure it was so much MH trying to act like she was random voting as it was she was terrified that both Azrael and me were on her case about the vote. Her options at that point are to stand up and take us on or to drop the vote and hope it'd fly.

Unvote, Vote: MandersHex
First, we'll begin by reviewing the entire situation:
I think PJ secretly likes squabbling about mafia theory and terminology with people.Short of requiring any level of physical activity, yes.
I'm honestly baffled. You can wait for TFF to eventually respond and all, but in the mean time how about you explain why I am scummy for voting TFF.
I don't want to hear how I am wrong about TFF being scum or how my question itself was fishing/stupid/etc. I want to hear from you why I am scum for placing a serious vote on TFF, since that is your contention here and you want to wait for TFF to respond to me about the rest.
Az posts these, which I'm ignoring because...duh. He's claiming they're not scum because they're not in his role PM. I refuse to acknowledge any of this crap when he does it.
Azrael did not say anything about me until here, where he votes for the weaker of his two scumspects.
Just saying. It's true.
So, as you can see, suspected that I've posted the way that I have because I'm scared or because I came under pressure, at the point that it was said, was complete and utter bull****. There was no minimal pressure on me while my vote was on EP. And everyone here should know I can handle more pressure than that.
So...is there actual strategy involved in this game?
Every single one of these posts is him either RVSing or acting like he's never played a game before. I have no idea what's going on with this, but I stated it was bothering me here:
Nobody goes from random voting to real mafia BACK to random voting. MH was under pressure and made a mistake by trying to act like she was still in the random voting stage.
These kinds of mistakes while under pressure are classic scum tells.
TFF posts this. I've already shown I was NOT under pressure and that I have NOT acted like I was still in RVS. So he's pulling **** out of his ass to try to make me look bad.
That is much more definitive than the stance that you are trying to paint for yourself here. Your stubborn insistence at maintaining this lie leads me to believe that you know you got caught red-handed.
Vote MandersHex
He ignores the questions I asked about his previous post and posts some bull**** about painting a stance and maintaining a lie.
I asked him questions about this as well which he still hasn't answered.
The only time I double-post are the 1 in 100 times I hit Submit Reply instead of Preview Post on accident.
Double posts make it harder to read posts as a cohesive thought and I hate them. I usually only report triple posts because that's just egregious use of "LOL, we're playing the mafias. Since I can't edit I'll just go on a spam spree and post each sentence in a new post".
EWP: Oh look, bigass Manders post. Hmmm... Consider my vote to be on Manders.

Show me how I disagreed with your wagon.
Show me how I tried to go back into RVS.
Respond to my ****ing points against you instead of just brushing them aside.
How the **** am I trying my best to escape confrontation?
People always say this **** about me and it's ridiculous. If I wanted to escape confrontation, I wouldn't participate in RVS. I suck at it, and I ALWAYS come under pressure from it. Go check my games. It's true.
I wasn't bringing it up to bash you or anything, man. Just to remind you that it happens to the best of us. If I offended you, I do apologize.
@ EP: My games are in my sig, man. The only one I can think of off the top of my head was Return to Amistaria, which you replaced out of.
@ DYH: I didn't forget that he ignored me (and still is). I forgot to vote.
And I definitely have reasons for thinking he is now scum. I've just yet to present them. But it started with his complete dismissal of EPs question to him.

For me, it was unvoting immediately after Azrael disagreed with your read and I questioned you on the vote. As I said earlier - that looks to me like you were trying to avoid a fight.
No worries; I'd just like to forget Doha ever happened.
I see my wording there is iffy, but that's not how I meant it. I know you 'forgot' to vote him for ignoring you - not that you 'forgot he ignored you'. I'm saying justification after the fact tacked on looks sketchy.
V/LA: 3/21-3/24 & 3/27-3/29
Have you never seen anyone, including me, back off of a poorly thought out vote upon later reflection?
Cause that's EXACTLY what happened, whether you want to believe me or not.
(Hint: Think Highlander, DYH. I know it's on my mind.)
I oftentimes do forget it happened. :xd:
I'd be an idiot or in denial if I didn't admit that it does. That doesn't mean I'm scum, though.

Yes.
Color me skeptical given the speed and source of dissent, but I admit it's possible, yes.
We're 100 posts into the game, so I'm working off my best assumption at this point - and I like my explanation better because of the line quoted in Emo's post that I referenced.
I don't generally think about my scum play when I'm town.
I guess that makes it a "null tell"?
V/LA: 3/21-3/24 & 3/27-3/29
I honestly have no idea what you're talking about.
V/LA: 3/21-3/24 & 3/27-3/29
And, in regards to Highlander, I was referring to ME in Highlander, not you. (Well, I'M thinking of you in Highlander, but mainly just because that's the only game I've played with you.
That's not liking how it started because attacking you for responding was bull.
How does that show me going back into RVS?

Good job completely missing the point that I was making.
I'm confused too.
I'm still confused. I don't see any points.
They hate us cause they ain't us.
So how about you make it clearer?
Respond to that last post I quoted.
I still haven't ****ing presented them yet.

Double-posting is bad.
Discuss.
V/LA: 3/21-3/24 & 3/27-3/29
Eh, I worded it badly. I had made posts, directed at him, that had questions, and he completely ignored them. I wanted him to NOT do that and respond to them.
WHY DYH'S POST WAS BULL****:
For reference, here is the post DYH made, with relevant information bolded:
First, we'll begin by reviewing the entire situation:
Here, I voted for EP, citing his post as the reason why.
EP questions me on it here. Minimal pressure.
DYH posts this. No pressure.
Az posts these, which I'm ignoring because...duh. He's claiming they're not scum because they're not in his role PM. I refuse to acknowledge any of this crap when he does it.
Well, I'll roll my eyes at it.
DYH asks me this question about my vote. Minimal pressure.
I respond and unvote because I realized what an idiot I was being.
WHY THE FOO FISH IS SCUM:
Every single one of these posts is him either RVSing or acting like he's never played a game before. I have no idea what's going on with this, but I stated it was bothering me here:
EP votes for TFF and asks some questions, and TFF posts this:
This sent up TONS of red flags to me, mainly because it was completely dismissive and immediately reminded me of RtA Mafia.
Where he was scum.
TFF posts this. I've already shown I was NOT under pressure and that I have NOT acted like I was still in RVS. So he's pulling **** out of his ass to try to make me look bad.
He ignores the questions I asked about his previous post and posts some bull**** about painting a stance and maintaining a lie.
I asked him questions about this as well which he still hasn't answered.
He labels my post as an immense overreaction. That **** made me laugh hard because I knew DYH was totally wrong about everything he said.
The main thing is I'm getting a very, VERY strong RtA vibe from him. He's making **** up and reaching to push a case on me.
Now that I'm able to look at this, yes, it WAS really clever.

Time to end day one.
Random Mafia 2 Town MVP

Best Non-SK Neutral Performance (Individual)
You can call it a "joke" and "minimal pressure" (Az's comment about EP and my question of your reasoning, respectively), but I think it was the start of something you didn't want to finish. I have a mental picture of you standing in a tunnel with a dim light coming towards you from the other end, and you subsequently turning tail and running.
@Jobie: Thanks for the input, let's take it one step further -
@all: What if I told you in this game that double-posting is bad. Thoughts?
V/LA: 3/21-3/24 & 3/27-3/29
Then make it happen, big daddy.
Then why isn't it there?
FTR, I've never, as scum or town, turned tail and ran. I've always met any obstacle head-on.
I just make mistakes and get too excited sometimes.
What exactly are we supposed to say about this? Obviously it is and you're the reason why or you wouldn't have even brought it up.
Other than that, preview post is your best friend.

You could tell us alot of things. I don't put much stock in double posting, just that players may want to up their post count.
Manders flippant attitude is rubbing on me. Seems to be in angry mode. This tells me she is getting bussed or is surprised she got made this early.
MOD vote count please.

So you're admitting you are scum?
When did you develop such a severe case of Bravado-itis?
This would be eerily reminiscent of the "stoic" shift in RtA except that you challenged TFF on why he wasn't voting you just a few posts before I essentially called you a chicken the first time.
Although I think AE had hinted at it before that post, and Az had quoted the post I hate, too.
Mmhmm. Noted.
Obviously.

Hinted at what? What are you talking about?
Good. Remember it the next time I get overzealous and make a stupid mistake.
No, seriously. What are you expecting us to say to you?
