Jules takes out his cellular phone and begins to dial a number. Meanwhile Vincent and Paul are shouting back and forth.
"Who killed Mr. Wallace?" Vincent demanded from Paul.
"I don't know! We have the tape, I'll go get it!" Paul shouts. Paul runs back into the room from where he came and grabs a tape. He quickly loads it into the nearest VCR.
Meanwhile, Jules is talking to someone on his cellular phone. "Yea... yes... send him over... yea we have a problem... yes I know you solve them, just come over." Jules said calmly.
Jules turned to the others in the room. "I got the Wolf, he'll be here soon"
At this point, Paul has the TV working. The video crackles to life. A person gets out of a black car. Marcellus Wallace is standing in front of the corner. The person pulls a gun out. Bang! Bang! The car speeds off, leaving the person behind. The person runs into the club owned by Mr. Wallace.
At this point the Wolf has arrived. "Show me the video, we don't have very long if we want to catch the guy who shot Mr. Wallace." The Wolf turns back on the TV and watches the video.
Silence.
"It is someone in this room," The Wolf said "We vote on who to kill until we find the people who killed Mr. Wallace."

It's not unheard of, and barely even rare, for a townie to vote his or herself in the random phase. Regardless, he gains very little from this as scum, so I would say it is unlikely to a strong indicator of his alignment.

Putting the second "random" vote on a person is typically a pretty good scumtell. You should know this. Besides, if somebody used logic similar to your's, shouldn't that be a weak town tell rather than a null tell?

Claiming scum in an early post is usually done by both alignments (town more than scum) to start discussion, so it's a null tell at worst.

In my experience, scum vote for their self during RVS far more often than town. My vote stands.

No, I don't know this, nor do I agree with it. Also, logic similar to the logic I used is null because it's really easy logic to use; anyone, regardless of alignment, can use it.
Tezz/Mu scumteam possible?
And what makes you think that?

You are attempting to proliferate false statements through the thread to the more impressionable new players by using linguistic tools designed to paint your stance as common sense.
Also, the following scumteam guess is for post-game so I can compare a mostly knowledge deprived guess - I say mostly because that linguistic tool Gigas1 used automatically places him on the list - to actuality.
And, as you may notice, Exchangebang is not on that list. That's not because I don't suspect him as scum - I do - but because I'm more or less using the hat to put together this scum team. I say more or less because there is no hat, never has been.
I have come to a set of possible conclusions:
A) Sir Mu is Scum, Gigas is Town, and just telling Scummy too much.
B) Gigas is Scum, and Sir Mu is just crazy, which comes off as scummy.
C) They are both Scum, and this is a distancing maneuver, but it seems too early to have that be the case.
D) Neither of them are scum, and this is just a weird RVS.

A) You think Gigas is telling scummy? Why?
B) Yes I am town and crazy. The good kind of crazy, though. The right kind.
C)Why do distancing maneuvers have to be late? I know I'm not scum, so regardless of Gigas1's alignment, this isn't distancing, but say hypothetically speaking him and I were scumbuddies; is there anything inherent about this which would require us to wait until later before distancing? In my experience scum distance with one another in the first few posts, though typically not in the RVS vote.
D) Any RVS with me is guaranteed weird.

What I'm doing is getting them all out in the open for people to analyze themselves.
A) He's jumping on a few particular people out the gate, which feels like putting pressure off of himself. I could see collusion between him and Tezz, but I have no reads on Tezz himself yet, so that's mostly speculation.
B) I agree that you are crazy.
C) As you mention RSV seems like it would be too obvious a time to distance. I don't mean later as in day 2, I mean later as in a few posts later, and not in quite that manner in the first few posts.
D) See B. *Prays it doesn't get worse*

Of freaking course this ends up on page 3 after the first post was page 2.
Though I don't think I get what the misunderstanding is.
The misunderstanding is that scum don't tend to vote scumbuddies in their very, very first RVS vote. Everything after that is free game, though.
Just something for you to keep in mind.
Another thing to keep in mind is that, by me mentioning this, the rules have changed. Mafia is a strange game in that the discussion of optimal strategy or scumtells changes the optimal strategy or scumtells!

It's late, so I'll answer Mu's question tomorrow.
I may be reading a bit far into this, but I don't think I am. I'm going to remain unsure on Tezz, and I think just ignore Sir Mu's antics until I get used to his...condition. But Gigas just seems to be using inconsistent logic when putting pressure on some people and taking it off others.

Unvote, Vote Gigas1
I like your reasoning! What's of particular note, to me at least, is that Gigas1 got onto tezzeret12 when tezz voted me for behavior that wasn't indicative of alignment. What Gigas1 failed to remember, however, is that it was the most emotionally-logical conclusion for tezz to vote me after my post, as it was a mirror to my first post in Seance and included a spoilered reference to the hat, an item which has negative connotations for tezzeret, as the game in which I ranted about the hat was, by all means, a bad game. I ruined it, plain and simple, even if it was slightly fun to do so. Having been in that game, it is odd that Gigas1 wouldn't have put 2 and 2 together unless he was opportunistic scum.

Yo Sir Mu, have you got a PR? You don't have to reply to it if you don't want to!

Gigas calling people scum with now evidence? Yeah that's pretty scummy. Also, he "presents" scum #1 and #2 but votes #2? Why is that? (directed at gigas not mu)

It's not unheard of, and barely even rare, for a townie to vote his or herself in the random phase. Regardless, he gains very little from this as scum, so I would say it is unlikely to a strong indicator of his alignment.

No, I don't know this, nor do I agree with it. Also, logic similar to the logic I used is null because it's really easy logic to use; anyone, regardless of alignment, can use it.
And what makes you think that?
Once again, not in my experience.

I'm going to answer my own question in an effort to be a less arcane, better Mafia player.

Another thing to keep in mind is that, by me mentioning this, the rules have changed. Mafia is a strange game in that the discussion of optimal strategy or scumtells changes the optimal strategy or scumtells!
A)
I may be reading a bit far into this, but I don't think I am.
Active lurking, YAAAAY!
I've also come to the conclusion that:
A) You could be town
B)You could be scum
EVERYONE DISCUSS!!!
helps me with that
And that was pretty scummy on your part
LOL
Hey man, I said you didn't have to reply to it.
What about you? What do you think about Gigas1?
Yo Sir Mu, have you got a PR? You don't have to reply to it if you don't want to!
Gigas calling people scum with now evidence? Yeah that's pretty scummy. Also, he "presents" scum #1 and #2 but votes #2? Why is that? (directed at gigas not mu)
LOL
I can't tell what you're trying to say. Is that now supposed to be a no? If so, why is that scummy?
I think I caughted my first scum!
I feel like a kid in a candy store, but in that candy store are a select group, which may or may not include the candy itself, is trying to kill me and the other not-very-unsuspecting meddling kids before we can solve the crime.
I think he agrees that that's scummy but that he wants Gigas to defend himself first.
Also: While Draco works, HoD is a better abbreviation for my name as I'm used to being on a forum with another Draco.
Yes.
LOL
I think it's at least courtesy to explain why something is a scummy action before demanding someone defend their self against it.
Oh pinkfloyd your post starts with a y on a tuesday! This makes you scum! Defend yourself!
LOL
But why is it scummy?
Calling someone scummy without reason is scummy.
LOL
To be fair, he had reasons, just not good ones.
But let's lynch him anyway!
Lets not jump to conclusions. Not even everyone has posted yet!
LOL
Digi hasn't even confirmed, has he? And only half of us are saying anything meaningful.
I suppose that's why you haven't really voted yet?
