You have having way too much fun with this role.
If you get me lynched I don't particularly care, so long as the town wins in the end. If you get me lynched and then proceed to lose, well then I'll have some choice words with you after the game.
Since it was you(though plenty of other players would be in the same boat) that did it.
Is your issue with me putting down multiple votes in the random stage or with putting down a random vote as a secondary vote on a person?
And since there was a somewhat contextually-relevant reason for voting AI in the first place.
Is dC honestly planning on lynching AI based on the fact that he claimed miller or because he said he hates vincent? I don't think so. So that would make his a random vote.

Seeing as how he didn't unvote afterward, I can only presume that he does support pressure on me, if not want me outright lynched in case I'm scum trying a gambit.
If people really don't trust me, I should probably be vigged, not lynched. My lynch wouldn't provide any useful information to the town, since both town and scum would be incentivized to jump on the bandwagon.
Oh, and speaking of Traitors, let's hope we all learned our lesson after what happened in Doha.

Okay, I thought you meant the former (mostly because you didn't say anything when I did the very same thing in my second post in the game). Now what's my ulterior motive in doing that? What am I gaining by doing this as scum?
Maybe you can provide me an example of you placing a second 'random vote' onto someone as town?

It could go either way; what's telling is the fact that he tried to play the vote off as random when the player he was barning did not seem to be random-voting.

Not so, meta exists for a reason. Obviously there is a subjective element to interpreting meta but you can't just group everyone's behavior into the same broad categories of scum tells when there are individual differences in playstyles.
I interpreted Cyan's statement as meaning that a player as experienced and generally astute as Syrenz should not have made that vote as town. He expects better from the reigning Newcomer the of Year.
I don't like the fact that AI snuggles up to Cyan at all.
I think I'm allowed to agree with someone, especially when that player is disagreeing with someone I'm also disagreeing with. Enemy of my enemy, etc. But hey, you have your own vote. Feel free to use it as you see fit.

The same question I just asked Cyan can be answered by you as well. I merely followed our glorious leader (with an obviously joke vote), in his vote that I interpreted as not likely to be serious (considering the reasons that would be behind it are not reasons I would see him pursuing a lynch over). I do not get what this is all about.

Hi everyone. Anyone want to do a "January 25th" with me and take to the streets to protest our autocratic and disliked leader who's ruled with an iron fist for the last thirty years? His name is Hosni Mubarak...er, I mean, desCoures. So who's in?
-Unless he thought the player he was barning was random voting, which...

I, like Cyan, got the impression that he's using that justification after the fact, and didn't really vote with that in mind. Syrenz isn't the easiest player for me to read, though, so I'm not 100% convinced of my vote (which would be stupid anyway given how early it is).

These posts I've quoted above - especially the bolded sections - remind me of scum who are voted early in the game for obviously innocuous "offenses." They know their attackers have got nothing, but (because of their guilty consciences) attempt to protest their innocence and to make it clear that what they did is either typical or something that "everyone does", which is usually completely true.
A townie in this situation ignores or dismisses Cyan. A scum takes him seriously because he's worried about what might develop from this non-existent scumtell.

I always respond to accusations against me. Always. (I've had people bring up similar things to what you just said before - that I should have ignored it - but I never do ignore things people say against me.)
Odd. Why do I get townie points and Cyan get scum points when I'm agreeing with him? Is it because I'm the one being voted or because it's Cyan we're talking about?

Also, if I could have in mind to claim random vote with that post (you say I would do so in either case), couldn't I have just as easily made just a simple random vote? And this is a great point.
@AI: How do you tell the difference between someone pretending to random vote for malicious reasons, and actual random voting? -And what exactly makes you think it's the former in this case?
Oh I do, it's just very within peoples' character. And I like waiting until after most of an issue before commenting so that I can delay whoever's doing the stuff I find suspicious from finding out that I find them suspicious for as long as possible.
I think this whole situation is ridiculous and I FoS Cyan, AI, and zindabad for it. Syrenz' first post of the game said HAIL DC! I thought dC's vote was random because Millers do want to claim outright, from what I've heard. Combine that with Syrenz' first post, and I was not affected by his random vote on AI.

Are you saying you think that I would just keep my vote there silently while a wagon forms and I'm hoping no one notices I have my random vote still on you while you're getting lynched?
It depends on if people question you on it. If another player asks why you're voting me (or were voting me if I'm already dead), then you can say that it was initially random but I later became scummy in your eyes so the vote was serious after all.
That's how I would play off a "non-random random vote" as scum; you might do things differently.
Also, if I could have in mind to claim random vote with that post (you say I would do so in either case), couldn't I have just as easily made just a simple random vote? Why random vote as scum when you can pretend to random vote but secretly support a wagon that's spearheaded by a confirmed townie? That's my interpretation of the events.
I think it means you either still supported the wagon or were just being lazy.
The sudden unvote means you are either backing off under scrutiny or note that your continued random vote was inappropriate.
@AI: How do you tell the difference between someone pretending to random vote for malicious reasons, and actual random voting? -And what exactly makes you think it's the former in this case?
I feel like I'm going in circles here. The initial vote was a bit odd, but nothing to react to. The justification of said vote as random, with a sarcastic emote to boot, when desCoures's vote was not presented as random was a red flag and earned the vote.
Oh I do, it's just very within peoples' character. And I like waiting until after most of an issue before commenting so that I can delay whoever's doing the stuff I find suspicious from finding out that I find them suspicious for as long as possible.

Except desCoures accused me of being scum based on my claim, and then voted me. That sure as hell doesn't look like a random vote to me.
I'm getting Doha flashbacks. I don't want to butt heads with Syrenz again just because we have different ideas of how scum act in certain situations. I still feel that I was justified in my vote, but zindabad's bandwagon jump doesn't inspire much confidence. Sadly, I think I'm going to read zindabad as scum until the end of time. Vote stands for now.
Pretty sure you're aware enough as town to not try and place a second 'random vote' on someone, and savvy enough as scum to try and pass this move off as town.

Wait so if X player did that it would be ok? But if Y player did that it wouldn't be? No it is either acceptable on all grounds or unacceptable period. So explain. Who is it ok for and who isn't it ok for and why?
No, in this regard Cyan is correct. Of course different players have different expectations.
Here are the relevant responses to Cyan's vote. I wasn't bothered at all by Syrenz's vote, but his responses to Cyan were what interested me.

This situation reminds me eerily of Doha mafia where on D1 AI attacked Syrenz (both town). Syrenz's responses there had much the same feeling as they do here, professing his innocence and saying that the attack was bogus.
If the wagon takes off he can pursue the mislynch while claiming the vote was random. If the wagon doesn't take off he can jump ship...while claiming the same.
Really? You think that his plan is to leave a random vote on you and hope that it makes it all the way to a lynch with nobody realizing that he hasn't commented on the wagon (he would have to not make any mention of you in your scenario) and that he's still random-voting on a serious wagon. The scum scenarios presented by you and Cyan are really bad.
P.S. Syrenz hasn't unvoted despite ample opportunity. Let's think about that for a second.
Please.
I think this random vote business is being blown out of proportion and zindabad's points don't do much for me either, considering Doha where Syrenz behaved in much the same way.
Oh I do, it's just very within peoples' character. And I like waiting until after most of an issue before commenting so that I can delay whoever's doing the stuff I find suspicious from finding out that I find them suspicious for as long as possible.
I don't see how anyone find's DC's vote to be random.
AI claims 'miller'. DC immediately votes him, without so much as a hint that the vote is a joke. Logically, how do you construe this as a random vote?
@Syrenz: Yes, I think that leaving your vote sitting on him(if a wagon came along) is exactly what you planned on doing. And if no wagon came along, then you would simply move your vote whenever you felt like, no harm done. I've played on your scumteam before, and I know that you are savvy as scum. And this is what I would expect you to do. If you were random voting as town there, I would have expected you to vote/unvote in the same post. Leaving your vote is telling.
As is the fact that it never occured to you to unvote, and your responses in general, as noted by Zindabad(whom is obvtown in this game, incidentally).
Oh I do, it's just very within peoples' character. And I like waiting until after most of an issue before commenting so that I can delay whoever's doing the stuff I find suspicious from finding out that I find them suspicious for as long as possible.
I love when people lie transparently. I love it especially when they didn't have much of anything to gain.
I'm getting Doha flashbacks. I don't want to butt heads with Syrenz again just because we have different ideas of how scum act in certain situations. I don't understand how I was "bandwagon jumping." I brought a different approach to the question of Syrenz than the approach that you were taking in your posts. There was no need for that mischaracterization, intentional or otherwise.
Furthermore, your approach is a strained-looking reach. This in particular is egregious:
Why random vote as scum when you can pretend to random vote but secretly support a wagon that's spearheaded by a confirmed townie? That's my interpretation of the events.
If Syrenz were daykilled right this second and came up scum, I still would never believe that the above was his intention when voting you.
That said, I can't see you as scum because I don't believe you would've posted that comment about reading me as scum in every game as scum, and also because this post:
Seeing as how he didn't unvote afterward, I can only presume that he does support pressure on me, if not want me outright lynched in case I'm scum trying a gambit.

How can you possibly read me as joking, but not Syrenz? -We did the exact same thing!
And this is a great point.
@AI: How do you tell the difference between someone pretending to random vote for malicious reasons, and actual random voting? -And what exactly makes you think it's the former in this case?

Once desCoures's heavy-handed rule is ended, you're aware that you will be next, right? Arbitrary "moderators" cannot resist the will of the people.
Syrenz's vote was innocent. What followed wasn't.
As you can see, I wasn't affected by his random vote on AI either. It's his response to Cyan that is telling.
"...a talisman against all evil, so long as you obey me."
It depends on if people question you on it. If another player asks why you're voting me (or were voting me if I'm already dead), then you can say that it was initially random but I later became scummy in your eyes so the vote was serious after all.
That's how I would play off a "non-random random vote" as scum; you might do things differently.
I love your mom (still).
Not remotely close. You didn't vote.
Also, your post was talking about a random vote joke, and then proceeded to make a joke, so you had naturally built up the expectation for one.
I feel like I'm going in circles here. The initial vote was a bit odd, but nothing to react to. The justification of said vote as random, with a sarcastic emote to boot, when desCoures's vote was not presented as random was a red flag and earned the vote.
"I love being relevant."
And what exactly is he doing here? Getting someone speedlynched?
No, in this regard Cyan is correct. Of course different players have different expectations.
This situation reminds me eerily of Doha mafia where on D1 AI attacked Syrenz (both town). Syrenz's responses there had much the same feeling as they do here, professing his innocence and saying that the attack was bogus.
Please.
I think this random vote business is being blown out of proportion and zindabad's points don't do much for me either, considering Doha where Syrenz behaved in much the same way.
You 'like'? You must 'love'.
Lair of the Cat (Mafia Stats)
Ok, fair enough, but his meta defense he provided, that he always responds to what people say, is quite valid.
What I see in his responses is a genuine confusion because he doesn't understand why this particular thing has set people off.
I think he's town.

Because AI followed what is recognized as appropriate protocol for a miller and we see no reason for dC to seriously vote him for that.

Or maybe that's because it was random, and he thought it was really obvious (which I agree it was).

I thought the "Kill the traitor!" part at the end definitely made it sound like he was joking.
I love when people lie transparently. I love it especially when they didn't have much of anything to gain.
Hydravoting: Cyan, Zindabad, Ged.
I love when people repeat the same conclusory statements, and hope that we'll buy it the second time around.
I don't understand how I was "bandwagon jumping." I brought a different approach to the question of Syrenz than the approach that you were taking in your posts. There was no need for that mischaracterization, intentional or otherwise.
Furthermore, your approach is a strained-looking reach. This in particular is egregious:
If Syrenz were daykilled right this second and came up scum, I still would never believe that the above was his intention when voting you.
That said, I can't see you as scum because I don't believe you would've posted that comment about reading me as scum in every game as scum, and also because this post:
sounds like someone who actually believed that dC's vote was serious.
I'm actually sold for now, more by Skander's evidence (I went back and looked: here and here) than by some self-meta in a game I never read. Unvote.
I love it when people believe their own hype.

Why can't you vote Az late game?
