Ged spoiled the identity of the last scum for me after I died, and I've spent my time since trying to see if Roja was being scummy enough to get caught. He did a pretty good job for most of it, but his case against goatrevolt at the end was just too weak - not enough there for him to do anything with. Good try anyway.

LOL well I have to say for my first time ever being scum I have to say I think I did a damn good job.. But I made SOOO many mistakes this game and I cannot believe at all I made it to LYOL day.
So many lies told. And really you never want me on your scum team, i'll buss the hell out of you. I went again Cyan, Some One AND Spot.. I felt I had too. Though Whoot Props on nailing JQL. I knew there was something with her that didn't feel right. When it was between her and Infinis I was sooo hoping for Infinis before her.
And I should clear this up right now.
There was nothing wrong with my PM, I prematurely screwed up my soft claim. See I was first going to lie and call myself Static Shock. (Hence the DC and other claim.) However later I discovered that Thunderclap WAS a hero and back tracked as much as I could, as fast and I could and as believeable as I could. Ged is a super awesome host with NO flaws and im sorry that I implied that there were (and that people beleived me for it..) I thank him for letting me play this awesome game and hope to see him host another. Thanks for also letting me run the gambit I did.
GG town. I really thought you were going to 1,2,3&4 us this game. I'm glad I avoided that! lol. More of my "awesome" insight to come haha.

You could have always done something with that 12000-ish word game PBPA, you know.
It led me to believe infinis was town and that someone and spot were scum. Granted this became irrelevant due to abilities and the town failing over infinis.....but it did make me look pretty town after my day 2 bit.
Sadly it thought Roja's mistaked PM was a positive. Refinements to be made. Still, not terrible.
If i had continued the PBPA after that day, i think i would've gotten Roja.

I love Joboman, Poggy, Niv, and Vezok, because, while they may not be the best players, they still try to win. Having fun is the most important thing to a game, but I've learned that if you don't try to win, then you're ruining everyone else's fun.
I didn't read in-depth with most of this, but I know Roja's thunder/lightning claim came out at some point.

Great game, Ged, thanks for hosting- and good job, Town!

After yesterday I sent a PM to Ged begging him to tell me Roja was the last scum. (He'd told me Roja killed me as well.) Thankfully, he was.
Yes I made all the kills for the scum.. after Cyan dying I was the next "most important".
So DYH my guess is you knew that Dagger was slated to die night 1 and saved him? Day 2 really really really sucked for me.. Cyan down day 1. ZERO kills night 2 and Someone and Spot identified as scum..
It did however give me the two roles that seemed to be the most important to the town. A townie RBer is dangerous and since I already was zapping Goat I had no need to move it.
Oh and as for the burning bodies if anything I would say that there isn't anything FIRE related with my role. Same to be said about the RB flavor of lightning and the deaths..
LOL so the audiance was out there screaming for me to be quashed aww. I did what I had too.

I was right about sticking to my guns on Roja? Nice. I feel a bit better then. Excellently fun game Ged. I was respectful of Ged's wishes and didn't make my "bah" post that I wanted, but now that it's over I can throw it out here.
I'm still slightly annoyed, though I'm sure Ged will explain when he gets here, about being able to use two abilities at once (RB and Kill).

I'm amused that [Shalako], of all people, are talking about terrible reasoning. "Hey, PF's RVS daykill must be serious, therefore I should shoot him to prove that I have a daykill!"
I kinda fell into a sulk Day 1 because Cyan was so obvious, not much to do about that. Then one-shot cop on Some One, and Goatrevolt sees me trying to off Dagger...bad luck for the Mafia, I'd say.
On Day 3 I just tried to throw out as many false leads as possible I also thought that Roja should have Mafiakilled ME on night 2 and then claim vig, but he got squeamish
No, not the band. You're the guy they're named after: Fallout Boy, sidekick to Radioactive Man and pre-teen extraordinare. That's about all you are, though. You don't have any special abilities besides being vaguely radioactive. To be honest, you should probably get that checked out.
Mod Note: Secret backup (will inherit the role of the first town power role that dies. Does not inherit used limited shot abilities, but does inherit unused limited shot abilities.)
David Dunn “When's the last time I was sick?"
It was a shock to discover that you weren't like other people. You're... special. And it was a bigger shock when you found that there were more people like you. A whole society out there protecting the world from harm. Your path hasn't been easy, but it's lead you here. It's lead you to that society, and to your destiny: helping those that need it.
You have so much potential, but so little experience. You'll defend the innocent with your life, but the forces you are up against are strong. The cost of your protection could be great.
Source Material: Unbreakable (Movie) Video Quickie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_f1uCWKZQs Alignment: Town Abilities: Bodyguard. Each night you may choose one other player to protect. If that player would be killed that night, you will die in their place.
The Shoveler “Lucille, God gave me a gift. I shovel well. I shovel very well."
Destiny brings something unique to us all. To you it brought infinite knowledge in all things shovel related. Your finesse with the shovel is surpassed by no one, and you consider it your duty to defend Danger City with your god-given skills.
Shovels are good for a variety of things, not the least of which is hitting people over the head. A good hit usually leaves your target stunned, and often unconcious. You wouldn't kill a man, though. That's not the path a hero walks.
Source Material: Mystery Men (Movie) Youtube Quickie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8fqZ...eature=related (Note that I have no idea what the last 10 seconds of this clip are doing in there.) Alignment: Town Abilities: Roleblocker. Each night you can hit someone with your shovel, and any actions they planned to take that night will be stopped.
Isaac Mendez “I finally get to be a hero.”
You are Isaac Mendez. After discovering that you could paint pictures of the future while in a drug-induced trance, you decided to see just how far you could go. You painted a long series of paintings that predicted the events leading up to and including the recent hero killings. Now the future you’ve painted is at hand, and it doesn’t look good for Danger City. Nearly every piece shows the death of one person or another.
But you have pictures of the future! Why not use them to change that future? Well, they’re cryptic. You can only discern a painting’s meaning when the event depicted is going to happen soon. And once you act on your knowledge, once you prevent one death, the whole timeline will change. Your paintings will become inaccurate and worthless for clairvoyant purposes. Still, you’ve got enough information to save a life, and saving one life is better than none.
Source Material: Heroes (TV Show) Paintings Quickie: http://heroeswiki.com/Isaac%27s_paintings Alignment: Town Abilities: One-shot guaranteed doctor. At the end of each night but before dawn, you will receive a list of all the people who are going to have died during the night. You will be given a list of player names and nothing else (no alignment, no role name, etc). Once during the game you may prevent one of these deaths.
Note that all other night actions must be in before you can use your ability (since I need to determine who is going to die before I can tell you), so it’s very important that you are active during the end of each night phase. If you know for sure that you’re not going to use your ability, or if you're going to use it only on a certain person, I’d love to know that before I process everything else so that night can go a little faster. You're a pretty active dude around here, though, so I'm not worried.
Rorschach “No. Not even in the face of Armageddon. Never compromise."
The world is a filthy, corrupt place. Evil hides in every corner, clinging to society like a desperate animal. It has its claws in everything and everyone. The stench of it makes you sick, but there is no cure. No cure for the state of this city, this life. But maybe you can at least slow the bleeding.
Find the killers. Find them and stop them no matter the cost. It may be too little, it may be too late, but it's more than nothing. Justice must be administered, and no one else has taken the lead. This is your task, your job. End them.

Once per game, during the night, you may choose someone else in the game. You will learn their rolename and abilities by questioning your "sources".
Young Nastyman “How about the power to kill a yak from 200 yards away with mind bullets?”
You are Young Nastyman, nemesis of Wonderboy. You’ve battled many times with your arch-rival, hydras, and badass dudes everywhere. When the news of heroes being killed reached your ears, you knew what you had to do: put a stop to it. No one kills your friends and gets away with it.
Unfortunately, the majority of your powers are worthless in a battle against an unknown enemy. Too bad for you.
Mod Note: Secretly vengeful (gets a bonus kill when he dies).
Edna Mode “NO CAPES!"
Design: that's what you do. When a hero is in need of that certain kind of help, they come to you. New uniforms? Check. Flashy gadgets? Oh yeah. Blueprints of Danger City's sewer system? Advice on how best to go about picking a state of the art maglock? That's what you're for. E does it all; she makes what the heroes do possible.
Always with a trick or two up your sleaves, at the moment it's two. You have a lie detector and a bulletproof vest. With that, however, you also have an aversion to the real action. You'd rather not use either item yourself, but you can give them away to someone else to be put to good use.
Source Material: The Incredibles (Movie) Youtube Quickie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THYkM...eature=related Alignment: Town Abilities: Inventor. You have a lie detector (1 active use alignment investigation) and a bulletproof vest (1 passive use protection from a single kill). You can't use these items yourself, but each night you can choose to give one away to the player of your choice.
Nite Owl II
“Great times. Whatever happened to them?”
You are the second Nite Owl. Inspired as a youth by the original Nite Owl, you decided to become a hero and rid Danger City its problems. When he retired, you wrote a letter to Nite Owl asking him if you could use his name when you entered the world of crime fighting yourself. He graciously replied with a yes, and you’ve been doing your best ever since.
But it’s hard. Danger City is, well, dangerous. There are lots of bad people on the street. You get so little thanks, so little in return. And it’s a lonely job. To help cheer yourself up, you’ve teamed up with a guy you met at a bar: ced395. In any situation it doesn’t hurt to get a second opinion, and you'll just feel better if you have a partner to talk with during all this.
Source Material: Watchmen (Graphic Novel) YouTube Quickie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3orQKBxiEg (you can see Nite Owl’s cool flying vehicle thing at 0:33, and the man himself at 1:04.) Alignment: Town Abilities: You can speak with your friend, ced395, at night.
The Blue Raja “I am pilfering your tableware because I hurl it. I hurl it with a deadly accuracy.”
You are The Blue Raja, member of the Mystery Men. You’ve been given a gift: the gift of great finesse with cutlery. You can throw a fork with deadly accuracy or hit a moving target dozens of meters away with a spoon, but you can’t hit what you can’t see. The hero killers are shrouded in shadows and disguises, so your skills are mostly useless here. Truth be told, you’ve never liked the idea of killing to begin with.
So instead you’ve teamed up with a fellow hero, loran16. Two heads are better than one, and you believe you’ve got a better chance of getting through this mess if you have someone to lean on.
Source Material: Mystery Men (Movie) YouTube Quickie:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKNwA8siWeQ&feature=related Alignment: Town Abilities: You can speak with you friend, loran16, at night. Please use this googlegroup for your communications.

Years of practice have made you a master of stealth. This experience coupled with your knowledge of the city’s layout will let you follow the night-time actions of anyone you want.
Source Material: Darkwing Duck (TV show) YouTube Quickie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czCqMWRFVg4 Alignment: Town Abilities: Tracker. Each night you can choose another player to follow. You will learn who, if anyone, that player targets.

“U for... for... wait, how do you spell this? Is it ‘I’?”
You are Stupendous Man! Defender of Freedom! Advocate of Liberty! Fighting against the likes of Annoying Girl and Mom Lady, you keep Danger City safe and just for children everywhere. A true hero in a world that has so few.
And fewer still due to the recent hero killings! A new evil has reared it’s ugly head, and it’s up to you and your fellow fighters of crime to find it and put a stop to any nefarious business that may be afoot.

Mafia Roles
Bad Horse
“The thoroughbred of sin?”
The one, the only: Bad Horse. The top dog (or in this case horse) of the Evil League of Evil, which you rule with an iron hoof. You are the boss, and you get the job done.
The job in this case is murdering the heroes of Danger City. With them out of your way, nothing will stand between the League and world domination! Your victory is so close; don't let it slip through your fingers. Err, hooves.
Other members of the League include Roja (Thunderclap), spotofprey (Chaos Pope), and Some One (The Underminer). You can speak with them freely at night, and one of you may kill someone each night as well. You will be the ultimate word on who does the killing and who is being killed; it's your job to let me know what the details of the mafia kill are each night.
One last note: the media hasn't found all of the heroes you've disposed of thus far. Elastigirl and Captain Hammer will not be present in this game, and you are free to do with that knowledge whatever you want.
Source Material: Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog (Internet Video) Video Quickie: http://www.drhorrible.com/mushortio.html (you’re at the end of part 3) Alignment: Mafia Abilities: Ascetic. Your infamy protects you from most actions. Death is still death, though. No amount of infamy will keep you alive when a bullet is headed towards your heart.
Thunderclap
"Sixteen dollars for a Mimosa?! COME ON!"
Lightning! Yeah! You can electrocute people! And of all the heinous crimes you could commit with such a power you've chosen to, well, get drunk a lot and cause roughly the same amount of damage as a drunk person with electrical powers normally does. That being quite a lot to the bar, and a bit on your fly home, but very little beyond property damage.
That's all about to change, however, as your Evil League of Evil membership is up for renewal. If you don't get out there and cause some serious carnage soon, they might kick you out. So you've joined in on the League's hero killing shenanigans to flesh out your renewal application.
Your partners in crime are Cyan (Bad Horse), spotofprey (Chaos Pope), and Some One (The Underminer). You can speak with them freely at night, and one of you may kill someone each night as well. Cyan is the one who will let me know who is doing the killing and who your victim will be.

Also please don't judge me by the comics that I read.) Alignment: Mafia Abilities: Roleblocker. You can use your electrical abilites to shock someone unconcious each night, stopping any abilities they would otherwise have used. You may use this ability and perform the mafia kill at the same time.
Chaos Pope
“I have a slight shoe fetish, but that's about as close to religion as I like to come.”
Once the mild-mannered (or perhaps not so mild-mannered) Philip, you one day donned the costume of the Chaos Pope in an attempt to out-villain Diablo the satanic chicken. Though defeated that day, the costume's allure kept calling you back, calling you back for more popery. You couldn't resist its siren call. What started as a once a month thing tops soon became a habitual occurance. Soon you were out pope-ing every night. And from there it was just a small step into the Evil League of Evil...
Your partners in crime are Cyan (Bad Horse), Roja (Thunderclap), and Some One (The Underminer). You can speak with them freely at night, and one of you may kill someone each night as well. Cyan is the one who will let me know who is doing the killing and who your victim will be.

The Underminer “I am always beneath you, but nothing is beneath me!”
YES! The time has come for your reign of power! All will fear you, THE UNDERMINER! Tremble before you, they will. Like the ants that they are, the people of the world will scurry beneath your feet.
That's the plan, anyway. And with the help of your fellow members of The Evil League of Evil, you just might succeed.
Your partners in crime are Cyan (Bad Horse), spotofprey (Chaos Pope), and Roja (Thunderclap). You can speak with them freely at night, and one of you may kill someone each night as well. Cyan is the one who will let me know who is doing the killing and who your victim will be.

Serial Killer
Sylar “This is usually the part when people start screaming.”
Power. Every death brings you more. Every death takes you farther from the humiliating existence that was once your life. Every death is so thrilling, so invigorating, so exciting. And every death takes one more worthless soul from this world, leaving it a cleaner place for those that deserve to be here. It'll be a better place for those special enough to call it home when you're through.
Or at least, it'll be a better place for you.
Everyone else is scum, worthless. They must be cleansed, and it's up to you to do it. Kill them all. Your hunger demands it.
Source Material: Heroes (TV Show) YouTube Quickie: Unfortunately, you don't get a YouTube Quickie. I hate fan-made montages, and that's about all there is about Sylar. Look around - I'm sure you can figure out who this guy is pretty easily. Better yet, go buy and watch the first season of Heroes. Then stop at the end because the next two seasons are mediocre. Alignment: Serial Killer Abilities: You can kill one person a night by cutting open their head. Also, you've killed Hancock already, so you know that he will not be appearing in this game.
You know, I'm honestly amazed seeing DYH's role that he used it so early.
I would've held onto it until later. Also, could he have saved himself? (If he could save himself from sylar, itd be amusing)

GUYS! Thank you all so much for working with me to run a replacement free game! (...with no close exceptions. No. Close. Exceptions.) I couldn't have done it without you. Everyone's a winner when there's no replacements. Except, you know, the people that lost.
If anyone has any questions that aren't answered in this giant monstrosity of a post, I'll be happy to answer them.
Let's start with some design notes.
I designed this game after spending a lot of time reading the theory boards over on mafiascum as many of you picked up on. I don't really like the games over there, but there's a lot of people with a lot of ideas, and I like reading those. One of the things that kept coming up was this idea that games needed to get simpler. Vanillas were dying, more and more complicated roles were appearing, etc. In essence, people were upset that they were drifting towards *ahem* a MTGS sort of game.
I don't know why it didn't occur to me that maybe the reason we have more complicated games is that we like them, but I just assumed that we needed simpler games, too. So I started designing. Then a couple months in, the same debate showed up over here. There were two sides (more or less):
A) Games are too complicated. This leads to role analysis over behavior analysis which is bad.
B) Complicated games are fun. That's the environment here, and it's like that because we like complicated games.
At this point, I started trying to find a compromise between the two. I agreed that games were getting a bit... wild, if you will. But I also know that feeling you get when a vanilla role PM shows up in your box. If you're like me, that feeling can be described as a little voice saying "aw, man, I'm going to have to drudge through this game with no abilities for MONTHS!"
I don't like that feeling. But complicated roles were not what I wanted to run with.
The answer, I decided, was to give as many people as possible something small. One small ability makes such a huge difference. It makes you dig through the game trying to find out how to squeeze as much as you can out of your one little thing, which is so much more fun that being vanilla. This is why there's all sorts of small, one-shot roles in the game. Of course I decided I should try to simplify things even further and not tell a couple people they had abilities, which completely goes aginst the theory of what I was trying to do, but whatever. Just forget about that.
So yeah. Lots of small roles. The other thing that I wanted at first was two mafias. This is why there's a bit more protection in the game than it seems like there should be (I count a town RB as a protective role). There used to be a night-skipper, too. Then when I got the game reviewed (thanks Xyre!), I got comments back about how unbalanced 2 mafia games were. Then at about the same time 24 mafia ended and there was a discussion about how swingy such games were. I did more research and couldn't find a two mafia game that went well, so at the last minute (and by that I mean like 10 minutes before PMs went out) I changed the game to a one mafia + SK version that I had as a backup for just such an occasion.
This may also be why there's 4 mafia as opposed to 5: I was used to running the setup as having 7 scum bodies. There should've been one less townie in the one mafia version, but I never got around to making the cut. Honestly, I kept it at 19 because I didn't want to cut any of the characters from a flavor perspective. I love all my heroes! So thanks to Numegil for getting modkilled and re-balancing the game. Also, who's a better candidate for getting modkilled for not saying anything than Silent Bob? Hilarious.
On to some game notes.
Night 1 did not end with a good feeling in my heart. 2 mafia pegged (assuming GR and DYH combined their info) and their most experience player already lynched... things were not looking good. This was right as Amistarian was ending, too, and I was worried we were about to have two town blowouts in back to back games. Fortunately that didn't happen. A close game is more fun than a blowout.
Night 3 gave me a choice I hadn't thought about (lesson learned - play out as many complex action sequences as possible ahead of time so that you don't have to decide mid game what happens). JqlGirl killed RobRoy, who protected DYH, who was killed by roja. Does RobRoy's protection go through meaning DYH lives, or does the kill effectively block him leading to DYH's death? I was probably influenced by the town's giant lead at this point, but I decided that the SK kill happened before the mafia kill (because Sylar is cooler than random schmos that aren't Bad Horse) and that RobRoy couldn't really do his thing if he was dead. Note to aspiring mods: look for this stuff ahead of time and deal with it before it comes up.
I have no idea why people thought TMT was Spaceman Spiff. Seriously, even if he's talking like the astronaut, that's more because there were a lot more Spiff strips than Stupendous strips. But guys: he was acting like Calvin. Calvin has a superhero identity. Why would I put Spaceman Spiff in the game when there's a related superhero? Shame.
Quote from Cubus »
That leaves us with loran, who's had town interactions with Some One, and who I think would be town by gaming Ged. Not a good lynch today.
Pro. Na, but seriously, I wanted loran to be scum. He asked me for a killing role during pre-game, but I just gave him what turned up randomly. The only role not distributed randomly was Isaac Mendez (DYH's role), who I needed someone reliable and consistantly online to get. What with DYH hosting his own game, I figured he'd be on enough. I did almost give Roja the role of Rorchach due to his avatar, but decided against it on a coin flip.
Ultimately the game was all about that first night. After that was mostly busy work up until the end, when it looked like Roja might actually get through the end-game. Well played, my friend.
Ged is a super awesome host with NO flaws and im sorry that I implied that there were (and that people beleived me for it..) I thank him for letting me play this awesome game and hope to see him host another. Thanks for also letting me run the gambit I did.
I'm still slightly annoyed, though I'm sure Ged will explain when he gets here, about being able to use two abilities at once (RB and Kill).
I don't care if its a mafiascum convention, its rather nonsensical. Players with multiple abilities always have choices of which to use at night, not how many to use barring special cases and it just seemed like a clumsy fix for the smaller than usual mafia.
I took some stuff from mafiascum (the idea of neighbors, an attempt at more vanillas), but this didn't come from there. This came because it sucks when a group ability overpowers your own role. Players like their role; they become attached to it. Why rip their ability away in a rare case just because "people shouldn't be able to use more than one ability each night"? Besides, this would only come up in one, unlikely scenario: the one that did. If more than one scum survives a long time, there's no issue. If one scum that's not Roja survives a long time, there's no issue. If it gets down to just Roja at the very end, the town will know that there can only be one mafia left based on numbers. And finally, if Roja loses all three of his partners early on, he's going to need a little help. Seriously, this game would've been over long ago if Roja hadn't had that little boost that puts a bit more emphasis on behavior analysis over tracker results.
I really enjoyed getting PMs from people throughout the game. Reading posts here, it didn't occur to me that people might not want to know who the last scum was. I won't be telling people that in the future.
SO FINALLY: the best thing I received all game as a PM, which I will leave anonymous in order to protect the sender.

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR PLAYING! It was a blast to finally mod after 2-3 years of waiting. Here's to many more!
You know, I'm honestly amazed seeing DYH's role that he used it so early.
I would've held onto it until later. Also, could he have saved himself? (If he could save himself from sylar, itd be amusing)
That's the first thing he asked. I said no, but that he would know he was slated to die and could use his ability on someone else before dying himself.
Gotta admit Ged, i quite like the roles a great deal. There's not too much flavor to the pm's themselves, but the disparate collection is great.
The Blue Raja and Pizza Girl especially made me laugh.
Edit: For the record tho.

When when I got the game reviewed (thanks Xyre!), I got comments back about how unbalanced 2 mafia games were.
I take offense to that

Oh yeah, Doomsday was two mafia, wasn't it? I didn't read a ton of it (one of those long ones I just never got into), so it wasn't part of my research. Consider yourself exempt!
I was definitely trying to go for that "cohesive group" thing with what heroes I put in the game, so I'm glad it came off well.

Which isn't to say that 2-mafia games are impossible, but they are highly erratic. Usually, mods overcompensate for cross-kills, buff up the mafias, then discover that it rarely works out so well.
I agree with Xyre, the 2 mafia setup rarely works out. SB's game was a unique exception because each mafia had a WC that was completely independent of the other mafia.
It was a tossup between Roja and The Mad Tapper for the vig, and I assumed that playing to everyone else's wishes would be better received than playing to mine. Guess not.

I love Joboman, Poggy, Niv, and Vezok, because, while they may not be the best players, they still try to win. Having fun is the most important thing to a game, but I've learned that if you don't try to win, then you're ruining everyone else's fun.
I was considering asking, but I felt that a) I wanted to shoot anyways, even if I had the option not to and b) I didn't want to hold up the lynch scene even more.
For me, the last two scum were The Mad Tapper and Roja. I didn't really see any other options for scum, and so I decided there was no harm in shooting to speed the game up.
Interesting, I thought that you were forced to fire. I can't ever see a townie firing at will in that situation, because you're putting the game into lynch or lose a full day earlier.

I fully expected The Mad Tapper to be lynched the next day, which is why I vigged him. All I did was accelerate the process.
SO FINALLY: the best thing I received all game as a PM, which I will leave anonymous in order to protect the sender.
*sigh* I think I sent out about a half dozen of those, but I don't really remember. I know i sent one to kpaca, and I think loran...:-/
Anyway, very fun game. I was pretty happy with my reads up until the end when I was dead wrong on my change of opinion on TMT and ande. Pretty obnoxious that i spent hours going to thread only to come to the wrong conclusion.
I enjoyed the game. Sorry again for my inactivity. I'm glad it didn't end up costing the town.
I must have just been OMGUSing on Andelijah, but I really thought you were scum most of the game. I thought your antagonizing play directed at me was a result of frustration at having your entire team outed.
I thought you played well, Roja. The way you handled Cyan was solid. Granted, I'd like to say I caught you as scum from your very first random post of the game :), but I didn't stick with it, and actually chalked you up as town for most of the game from that point on. Your case on me was obviously fabricated that last day, but you were in a tight spot at that point. The only real point that carried any weight was the RB/kill in the same night one, but I do have links of games I've played where that was the norm, that I would have gotten around to dredging up if it became actually necessary.
Fantastic job modding Ged. I liked the one-shot role theme. I think it kept the game simplistic, but yet allowed for a variety of interactions.
Any reason why loran was killed that last night? He was the only other person I could really see as a possible scum choice. I don't think I would have supported a lynch on him, but I was surprised he got NKed, at any rate.
LOL. The first real alarm I had on Roja was when he made that large game-by-game case on Cyan. For the amount of work he did just to clarify Cyan's behavior by going through such a large amount of games, he ended it essentially with a suspicious no definite conclusion despite the obvious results. That was when I marked him down as a possible scum, but sadly, never really got the time to do a reread on him as promised.
But he did good though in his one-shot vig claim. I honestly believed he would have won the game had TMT and loran weren't killed before him. I think the correct choice he should have made on the last night was to NK CC instead of loran.
In addition, the contributing factors to both SO and SoP's lynches were their reactions and counter-claims in response to them being outed. There are better ways to manipulate the non-confirmation of an investigation that any of them could have used. Instead, they set up a direct contradiction which doesn't favor them as obviously being the ones being accused, they would be lynched first before the ones accusing them would.
BTW, I was very very happy I was told I got NKed 4 times in this game. Ironic, isn't it? My heart sank when I read my Night 4 PM in which I was NKed. I cheered up a little when I read the opening post of Day 5 when it was obvious I absorbed the SK's NK as well. And I outright laughed (bouncing around like an idiot) when Ged confirmed my suspicion that both the mafia and SK tried to NK me on Night 1. Good game.
Good game, everyone
Yea killing you night two would have been a HUGE mistake, if we were going to loose 1234 lets take out as many as we could. AFTER day 3 started I realized I should claim whatever role you stated as and push you hard to be lynched. It kinda worked.
Thanks for cheering on the sidelines, I know SO sent me a PM saying something like OMG 1 mylinch from WINNING!
Nice job surviving for so long, Roja. Hard to believe you came a mislynch away from winning the game, and really just got PoE-ed out.
PoE? I dono the lingo. However these words of praise means a lot. Sorry for selling you out. AND GEEZE WHY NOT PASS OUT THE COSTUMES!! lol. When Ced said that we might have different identiys I KNEW you had them and didn't get the chance to pass them out.. I remember cursing you out when you were killed. Reguardless I had fun and am sorry for adding to the push instead of deflecting it.
For me, the last two scum were The Mad Tapper and Roja. I didn't really see any other options for scum, and so I decided there was no harm in shooting to speed the game up.
When I saw that TMT was shot going into that final night I was REALLY confused if you really shot him. I mean you were VOTING for me yet TMT died.. I didn't make any sence of it.
Interesting, I thought that you were forced to fire. I can't ever see a townie firing at will in that situation, because you're putting the game into lynch or lose a full day earlier.
I know I was VERY happy at this point. Only 1 more day.. THE wierdest thing I think in this game was after JQLgirl was lynched I KNEW the game was going to end with me dying or my win.. Which meant the games over if I die. Not normally I think how games ends.
I fully expected The Mad Tapper to be lynched the next day, which is why I vigged him. All I did was accelerate the process.
I was actually banking on your second life keeping you alive and going to night kill you that night and blame CC or TMT for it. So yea TMT was going to be next for me to "place" blame.
I thought you played well, Roja. The way you handled Cyan was solid. Granted, I'd like to say I caught you as scum from your very first random post of the game :), but I didn't stick with it, and actually chalked you up as town for most of the game from that point on. The only real point that carried any weight was the RB/kill in the same night one, but I do have links of games I've played where that was the norm, that I would have gotten around to dredging up if it became actually necessary.
I really really felt bad for Cyan. You see you DID get me early on and I was already backtracking with what I had.. META. DYH cleared me as meta and at the same time Cyan's Meta as this scum was exactly the same. SO to prove that I wasn't scum AND that Cyan WAS I needed to PROVE that the META was the same..
And yes I knew about the RB/kill the same night I have seen it before. However it was really the only argument I had left that last day.
Any reason why loran was killed that last night? He was the only other person I could really see as a possible scum choice. I don't think I would have supported a lynch on him, but I was surprised he got NKed, at any rate.
It was going to be a toss up between Loran or Cubus. My argument on you would have been the RB/kill the same night. My argument against CC would have been about protecting Spot and making the kill. (Two way differnt arguemtns.) Cubus I felt at the time was more likely to beleive me then Loran. SO Bang Bang I shot him down. (Someone HAD to be the Neighbor/mason and I couldn't win that arugment no matter how hard I tried.)
To be honest It wasen't a lot of work as I made it look. I think I had all of my info in like 10 minuites. That plus work plus adding a lot of fluff with headers and such took the "time" needed. I had DYH'S done at the same time but left it alone as I was hoping the case would have moved off of Cyan, when it didn't I continued and pushed forward with the case.
But he did good though in his one-shot vig claim. I honestly believed he would have won the game had TMT and loran weren't killed before him. I think the correct choice he should have made on the last night was to NK CC instead of loran.
Credit goes to Spot here. We never actually talked about false claiming. But when he said he was the Vig I already was going on "LIER" mode with it. Another reason I didn't kill CC is that he mostly agreed with me the whole game.. I really was looking at the end who would have kept me.. and I was wrong LMAO.
I have to say I agree 100%. Goat pushing his finger on me day 1 (of my FIRST ever Mafia side game) I was screwing up left and right. I took a weekend to just relax. And got my self centered and tried to make the best of it. The one thing I have to say for the town is they need to RE-read a lot more. There were a lot more obvious things that if they went back to re-read I think I would have died sooner. Like already mentioned here Thunderclap and the lightning based RB.. Sure its gaming the mod but had I been town I would have jumped on it so fast.
Good game.
You were slated to die night 1 because myself, Someone and Spot couldn't agree on who to kill. We were going to kill Loran night 1 but for some reason I wanted Dagger killed. The SECOND time I went to kill Dagger I wanted to pin it on (who I thought was the SK) Jqlgirl. Once I saw we BOTH killed him I LOLED so hard because there would have been no framing needed.
I have to say I really also got lucky with who I killed and who I RBed. Goat, Tilde, infinis were really the only the towns constant roles. Cubus I thought was a JOAT with his announcement to not be protected I assumed he was an activated bomb and thus wasen't going to kill him. I killed those that I felt were threating to me either as my role or me as being a townie. DYH for being headstong and being a protector, Tilde being the one who could foil my plans as me being able to do something. Dagger for the blame of Jqlgirl. AH as I really had NO clue what role he was. And Loran for hope I could get the others on my side.
I also go really really lucky with my lie of a 1 shot vig. When everyone was talking about being a 1 shot I was very happy I went with it. Also the night 2 gambit thing I needed to do something obvious that wasen't and tried to be vague.. Maybe I shouldn't have zapped Goat that night and really claimed to have been me. Goat who were your targets this game? Would you have gotten any more reads?
Also what was the deal with the youtube video thing.. It clued me in that I didn't have one. And that I was worried that something would out be for asking about it but what was the big deal with it.
Sorry for the long winded post, but I had a lot of fun. As scary as it was to come here day to day to day to see if everyone finally clued into me it was fun as hell to lie and kill with no issues of doing so.

Night 2 I targeted Andelijah. Night 3 I targeted Andelijah. Etc. I wouldn't have actually caught scum by virtue of targeting you, but I would have been able to semi-clear players.
Re-reading the game would have been nice, but I didn't have the time/motivation to do it.
Honestly, I don't get why people would have had an issue with re-reading the thread. It's a pretty danged small thread. haha.

I didn't have a second life - I asked Ged to make sure CropCircles wasn't lying there.
@Ged: I liked the secret aspect of the game - gives a moderate amount of power to the town without having to worry about claim analysis.
Town
andelijah: Seems town.
ced395: Me.
CropCircles: Nothing really wrong.
Cubus: Willingless to nameclaim.
Dagger: Feels town.
DYH: Strange attack pattern, but nothing else.
goatrevolt: Feels town, but lurking.
loran16: Nothing wrong.
The Mad Tapper: Good posting.
Undecided
~Tilde~: Against softclaims, now is basing attacks on them.
Abandon Hope: Abruptly drops interest in DYH and goatrevolt to go for Cyan.
RobRoy: Inconsistent opinions of softclaims.
Roja: Occasional bad post.
Some One: Mostly the comment on DYH/Cyan
spotofprey: On the inactive side.
Scum
Cyan: Accused on meta reasons, shifts gear to show otherwise, then slips back down again.
Infinis: Overly interested in the setup. Lack of other content (I need to look more in-depth at his more recent posts, though).
JqlGirl: Wanted to follow the majority on the softclaim issue, other issues.
Ced, a while ago, you asked what the members of [The Family] thought of your play, and I said I couldn't comment at that time. That's because a lot that I wanted to say was about this game, and it was still ongoing.
Now that it is over, I want everyone to look at Ced's DAY 1 scum list. I've colored each player based on their alignment, and holy crap. Zero scum in his town list, 50/50 in the Undecided, and two thirds accurate on the scum list. What do I think of your play, Ced? Effing impressive, man. This wasn't dumb luck either. The scum list is a solid representation, but if you read back over his posts, man, like 90% of the stuff he says is dead on.
I don't know, maybe you just had a good day, but you're analysis in the Godfather game suggests otherwise. I think you've got a very level, clear head and I think you approach situations with the right level of objectivity to see the the truth behind the bull. You won't push as many lynches as a player like Cyan or RafaelK, but your conservative approach is bound to lend you more insight.
Jql would have to clarify to know for sure, but you were on her hard on day 2, and than she killed you the following Night. Have to think the two are connected, no? At at any rate, expect to start drawing some more nightkills.
On that note, were you gonna do MVPs Ged? I'd have to imagine Roja and Cubus, but I always like to get the mods opinion.

Hey, as his neighbor let me say he then switched his opinion really on someone by night 1. So while his instincts were correct, he got a little fooled thereafter.
Okay, but he's pretty good. Still don't get why yall lynched infinis though.

If the mafia nightkilled Loran as I had advocated, how does everyone think the game would have played out differently? Just curious to know.
I already told Roja, but mad props to him lasting as long as he did. Seriously, I though the game was gonna be a perfect town win at the rate it was going.

I'd thought about it, but wasn't planning on it. Roja obviously gets the mafia MVP, but I'm not sure who I'd pick for town. I have a hard time deciding how much influence players that die early have on the game, especially since they often die because they're playing well. Dagger and DYH I thought played well, as did Cubus and goatrevolt who both pegged scum night 1. Loran had some seriously good logic going on around Infinis, though he's not MVP. Maybe just G[ood]P[layer]. Really I didn't do MVPs because there was a lot of good town play, and I didn't want to pick someone.

I was screaming at you all to go back and look at the kill flavor.

Yes and yes... Roja was this close to pulling it out for the scum. I'm glad he didn't.
Note to self: Your mafia theories are usually wrong, so don't act on them.
After yesterday I sent a PM to Ged begging him to tell me Roja was the last scum. (He'd told me Roja killed me as well.) Thankfully, he was.
V/LA: 3/21-3/24 & 3/27-3/29

I don't care if its a mafiascum convention, its rather nonsensical. Players with multiple abilities always have choices of which to use at night, not how many to use barring special cases and it just seemed like a clumsy fix for the smaller than usual mafia.

You have so much potential, but so little experience. You'll defend the innocent with your life, but the forces you are up against are strong. The cost of your protection could be great.

“No.
End them.

That's all about to change, however, as your Evil League of Evil membership is up for renewal. If you don't get out there and cause some serious carnage soon, they might kick you out. So you've joined in on the League's hero killing shenanigans to flesh out your renewal application.

Shame.
Comments on things people have posted thus far:
Lern 2 Fanboy - it's forks.
Four. He was double killed twice.
Aw shucks.

That's the first thing he asked. I said no, but that he would know he was slated to die and could use his ability on someone else before dying himself.
The Blue Raja and Pizza Girl especially made me laugh.

Hey. I'm not bad at playing scum, you know. This game just came at an inopportune time for me, just like I said.
Nice job surviving for so long, Roja. Hard to believe you came a mislynch away from winning the game, and really just got PoE-ed out.
Which isn't to say that 2-mafia games are impossible, but they are highly erratic. Usually, mods overcompensate for cross-kills, buff up the mafias, then discover that it rarely works out so well.

Pm Title: THIS IS NOT AS YOU THINK AS YOU DRUNKENESS
Good game.

Reguardless I had fun and am sorry for adding to the push instead of deflecting it.
I'll take all the props. For once I feel I played a great game. (Even though I didn't win lol.)
When I saw that TMT was shot going into that final night I was REALLY confused if you really shot him. I mean you were VOTING for me yet TMT died.. I didn't make any sence of it.
I know I was VERY happy at this point. Only 1 more day.. THE wierdest thing I think in this game was after JQLgirl was lynched I KNEW the game was going to end with me dying or my win.. Which meant the games over if I die. Not normally I think how games ends.
I was actually banking on your second life keeping you alive and going to night kill you that night and blame CC or TMT for it. So yea TMT was going to be next for me to "place" blame.
Out Fan-Boyed by myself! How terribly embarrassing!
Re-reading the game would have been nice, but I didn't have the time/motivation to do it.
1450 posts for a full normal sized game? You kidding me? o_o
Uh.....AGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA?!
(Also, i think our definitions of rereading are different from your definitions of rereading.)

I didn't have a second life - I asked Ged to make sure CropCircles wasn't lying there.
@Ged: I liked the secret aspect of the game - gives a moderate amount of power to the town without having to worry about claim analysis.

[The Family]
Hey, as his neighbor let me say he then switched his opinion really on someone by night 1. So while his instincts were correct, he got a little fooled thereafter.
Okay, but he's pretty good. Still don't get why yall lynched infinis though.

I already told Roja, but mad props to him lasting as long as he did. Seriously, I though the game was gonna be a perfect town win at the rate it was going.
Is there a place where mafiachat would be available to read?
And you really thought about killing me on n0? I'm sort of honored....why? With my anti Cyan-wagon behavior i imagine i'd be a great possible lynch push, not a night kill target?
Here's the neighbor chat between me and ced:
