I highly, HIGHLY doubt that GR anticipated that DV would react in such a ridiculously bad fashion that it would make him look like a complete newb town.
I think this is your problem right here, Cyan. It really looks to me like GR was completely prepared for this possibility. Was he also prepared for the possibility that DV would stumble over himself in a horrifically scummy fashion? -Of course. But how in the world are you viewing this as a bad thing? I know you don't understand what actual scum hunting looks like, but that's what GR seems to be doing here, and scum hunting is NOT a scum tell.
And while your logic is horrible Cyan, it is consistent, so instead of a vote, I will futilely ask you to reevaluate your argument.
As for the recent GR votes, while Eco's and dC's aren't great, I can understand their reasoning. SSB on the other hand... how does Cyan claiming to be a dayvig make GR scum??
Vote Sandsoft_Blue
I really don't like your methods, Cyan, but if we can catch opportunistic scum jumping on, then it isn't a completely bad thing.
My question was more a rhetorical one than a real question.
(Are you accusing me of fishing right now?(this is a confusion smiley))
Oh, did I? I was just curious why you would want a confirmation on Cyan's threat. And you would have to pardon me if I say your question didn't seem rhetorical to me at all.
I'm against Goat claiming or being shot. I think this whole mess is a townie slapfight.
I agree.
I'm not a fan of Sand's vote, either.
Eco is pretty much in the same in the same boat for me (with slightly better reasoning but it still comes off as an odd time to vote GR) . dC seems to have a better reason non-related to the back-and forth.
MMoD is giving me bad vibes. Post 353 gives me the feeling he's playing both sides of this thing.
I will wait for MMoD to respond to this.
Non-game related: I read some of the Mafiascum game GR linked to and I was surprised by how different the playstyle is over there.
@DC: Where have I said my play in Berserk was my town play? Where have I compared Cyan attacking me in Berserk to Cyan attacking me here? Cyan was the one who made that comparison. I recall making two references to Berserk mafia. One was my statement about DYH attacking me for being aggressive, which I made as a lament to how I am unable to play aggressively simply because it always results in people suspicious of me for exactly that. I can't scum hunt, because when I do, people are suspicious of me for it. That's just annoying. The 2nd was my comparison to how Cyan dismissed my arguments for Minineko being town in the exact same fashion he dismisses my arguments for the validity of "trapping" DV. In neither of those situations am I saying "Hey, look at Berserk for an example of my town play." I merely used Berserk as an example because it's a recent game that illustrated a few points I wanted to make.
Anyone else find it odd that DC mentions he hasn't had time to fully analyze the interaction between Cyan and myself, but yet commits to a vote anyway? And a vote based on a faulty understanding? Seems like he could have cleared that up had he, you know, analyzed the interaction between Cyan and myself prior to placing his vote. Thoughts on that DC?
GR: I believe you are being very aggressive and slightly flailing, but I sypathize with your plight, as I often tend to do the same. I do not believe aggressiveness is a scumtell, and at the moment I'm giving you a pass.
Cyan: Though I think your daykill threat is odd and maybe a bluff since you havn't performed it, I also am passing over you. (For the record I don't think a daykill is warrented if you have it). From what I've read of you this is your normal way of playing, so I'm not real suspicious of it.
DC: I have mixed emotions on him so far. Some of his analysis seems good but I get a scummy vibe from him the other half of the time.
Sandsoft: He did pick an odd time to jump on a wagon, and it looks oppurtunistic, but I believe he has played enough mafia to be smarter than to just jump on like that, FOS: SSB
Which leads me too Ecophagy: Who I feel has made almost the same play as SSB, but I feel as though he is more likely to be noob scum and unsure of the proper way to conduct himself so to speak. I feel as though he is the oppurtunistic scum vote: Ecophagy

I've seen nothing in these arguments to convince me that anyone in particular is scum or not scum, so I won't be voting or FoSing anyone right now. @Cyan - That's real sane and friendly of you, threating to daykill GR if he doesn't claim. If you're so sure he's scum, why wait? Why not just daykill him now? Or are you just trying to scare everyone into agreeing with whatever you want for fear you'll shoot them? Bully.
You won't be voting or FOSing anyone, but you're perfectly comfortable triple dog daring Cyan into shooting Goat? There's no townie thought process here.
I don't think DV should be let off the hook. I'm suspicious of his response to my earlier post. He simply agrees with everything I said and drops it at that, however he keeps his vote on me and doesn't explain why. Secondly, he's pushing at the idea that I attacked him and he has been merely defending himself, when that is not the case. He voted for me, I questioned him on his reasoning. He attacked me as scum and voted for me, and I'm highly suspicious of the way he's weasled out of that and into the idea that I'm some big baddie who has been pressuring little ol' him.
Ok, to cover your points. First lets deal with point two. This is a gross misrepresentation of what I mean. I in no way have said that you are attacking me. I was simple covering a point of yours that you said in offense against my attack, then some one else said I was attacking you with it. Which I wasn't I was countering your counter argument.
Ok, now back to point one. I didn't retract my vote, because I was waiting to see how your battle with Cyan would turn out. Frankly, I like his arguments better.
To continue this then Dc jumps on and adds more to the arguments. To which you reply.

So, clearly we have already caught three scum. Cyan, Dc, and myself. And also, sandsoft and Ecophagy must also, be scum. Your flailing wildly around calling anyone that votes for you scum. Which I find to be a poor defense. You might not have come out and directly said,"Scum" but with all your words it equates to the same thing.

There is no request to vig GR (as JqlGirl clarifies later) all it is doing is showing fault with Cyan's ultimatum. And there is a good point here. Cyan has not killed GR even though GR hasn't claimed (and said he wouldn't). Now a couple of people (myself included) said that Cyan should not in fact kill GR, but Cyan has not changed his mind (at least publicly he hasn't).

Fair enough. It was kind of ambiguous, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.
So, clearly we have already caught three scum. Cyan, Dc, and myself. And also, sandsoft and Ecophagy must also, be scum. Your flailing wildly around calling anyone that votes for you scum. Not true. I think Cyan is probably town. I am definitely suspicious of you, Sandsoft, Ecophagy, and DC to varying extents. My suspicion of you, however, is unrelated to your vote on me and more related to other actions of yours. My suspicion of DC is not because he ultimately voted me, which I fully expected him to do, but because he voted me prior to getting a full understanding of the argument and based on that faulty understanding. My suspicion of Ecophagy is because I'm generally suspicious of someone who votes a player, but when questioned on it backs down to "gut feel", especially considering the timing of his vote, and I'm suspicious of Sandsoft_blue because he wanted to vote me for a long time, but waited until Cyan made his "claim or die" ultimatum and used that as a reason to vote me, despite the fact that it does not reflect on my own alignment at all.
I have legitimate reasons for being suspicious of all of these plays, and more reasons than simply "They voted me. Die!" And I'd hardly call my play "flailing."
In terms of Jqlgirl, I don't see that post as being very scummy at all. I think she actually made a decent point. If Cyan's a dayvig who is truly as convinced of my scumminess as he made it out to be, then he should have just simply shot me. What gives him the right to try to use force to coerce me into claiming early simply based on his own will alone? Forcing a player to claim at less than half the votes required to lynch based on the threat of death is simply not pro-town.
I don't think the post was scummy if it was sarcastic, however the jury is still out if that was the real intent or if she took what D_V said and ran with it. Regardless I will be watching her closely, because otherwise I think the current argument about her post is pointless.

I dont see a reason to respond to a post like that seriously.
@DC: Where have I said my play in Berserk was my town play? Where have I compared Cyan attacking me in Berserk to Cyan attacking me here? Cyan was the one who made that comparison. I merely used Berserk as an example because it's a recent game that illustrated a few points I wanted to make.
Let's work from the premise that you naturally wish to, by the nature of the game, imply that you are town, whether you are or not. By bringing up the point that you 'want to play a more aggressive game', you are trying to imply that this wish is inherently a town tell for you. (Incidentally dragging in personal issues.) By bringing it up in the first place in response to JodoYodo, you are attempting to paint it as a 'townie action' in the context of you as a player -- something made perfectly clear by you, in the above paragraph, painting 'aggressive play' as 'scumhunting'.
In short, you dissemble greatly in the above. Combined with the following...
Thoughts on that DC?
....rather defensive there, aren't we? Overly defensive, I would think -- obviously defensive to the point, at least, where you failed somehow to properly read what else was in the post I voted you...
Okay. It's going to take me rather more time than I have right now to analyze and contextualize this entire string of argument between Cyan and goatrevolt.
That it seems to have been the first game that leapt to your mind as a comparison for both your own play and Cyan's attacks on you, speaks to me of unconscious pattern recognition. Enough for me to vote goatrevolt, pending re-read of this whole argument.
Relevant parts italicized and underlined for emphasis.
I said myself in that post that I was intending to do a proper re-read, analysis, and contextualization of that long string of posts, time willing, and that the vote was placed pending said re-read. Did you not see these posts? Or.... were you perhaps so flustered at your slip that you immediately made a counterargument and tacked on a vaguely OMGUS insinuation, without realizing that my vote was made pending re-read, and reserving total judgment -- invalidating the entire insinuation?
I'm still intending to do that re-read, and hope to draw final conclusions from it today. But at the current time this response is giving me greater confidence that the vote wasn't misplaced.
In other news, I'm not entirely certain why JqlGirl is being voted. I can't see anyone actually acting on the kind of post JqlGirl made -- certainly not to kill someone publically.

Why haven't you vigged GR yet (please don't; I'm just asking your reasoning for not backing up your ultimatum)?
Just noticed this post:
Can you explain this since I really don't recall when Cyan said GR was town - quite the opposite IIRC.
Sometimes, the explanation is so obvious that it doesn't need to be stated.
And I'm not interested in GR now, I'll come back to him later. Especially since people that I see as likely town resisted the idea.

Oh? In what way, I question, are you not implying similarities in mindset between Berserk Mafia and this game when you say that 'you want to play a more aggressive game' and use Berserk Mafia as an illustration of such an 'aggressive game' and how it got you into trouble there? Were you 'scumhunting' in Berserk when you were, in fact, 'scum' of one sort, and ended up winning with scum of a different sort -- and even claimed, at the end, that you saw Pale Mage's 'signal' to cooperate and played along?
