Incidentally, if you want to follow up on this line of inquiry, I noticed on a check back on Grak that he implied a retaliation ability. Now, given he has claimed a day ability and a night ability, that really looks to me like an attempt to deter a cross-kill (whether because he's mafia deterring the SK or SK deterring the mafia, who can say?).
However, given atlseal's apparent lie to Xyre, atlseal looks like a much better play for this day.
Fine, fine. It seems that atlseal isn't going to show, and I doubt he'll come clean.
Apparently, according to my confirmation PM, atlseal actually did take the spoon. I'm curious as to why he would say the opposite... unless there's a good deal he's not telling us.
If this is the case, and we have not heard back from Atlseal by Tuesday midday, I will be voting for him as well. According to his last post he will be at DragonCon till midday Monday.

I'm wondering if there's any mileage in discussing why this whole "hide the votes" thing happened.
It must be a scum ability, right? I mean, even if it could have been a townie ability, no townie would have used it like this. So, it's scum. Now, why would a scum choose to use this ability now? What does it get them? It seems unlikely that we are going to mistakenly lynch the wrong person because we can't see the vote count. Are they trying to protect someone? Do they want us to think they are trying to protect someone?
Just batting around some idle thoughts....

Ambush Krotiq makes me laugh so much. I keep rereading the card and it keeps not having Flash. In what sense is this an ambush again? I just have visions of this huge Krotiq poorly concealed in some bushes, feeling slightly sad that his carefully planned ambushes never seem to work.

This seems like the scummiest post I've seen so far this game. You have some distractionary tactics, some appeal to emotions, and, in regards to Grak, what looks like possible distancing as well.
This seems like the scummiest post I've seen so far this game. You have some distractionary tactics, some appeal to emotions, and, in regards to Grak, what looks like possible distancing as well.
That doesn't really make a lot of sense. By saying it's distancing you're assuming Grak and I are scum together (which is definitely getting ahead of yourself), but also that when under very little/no pressure, I exposed something scummy he did to distract people off me?
I also don't see where the appeal to emotion is meant to be, I think you're just saying as much stuff as you can and hoping it sticks.
So, btw, you think Grak might be scum and you have had it brought to your attention that he (who has also claimed two other abilities) suggested he had a retaliation ability, which you believe suggests he's trying to avoid a cross-kill from other scum or from a vig. What's your next step, Cyan?
It wasn't hard to guess. At least, I guessed it when I saw the "voyeurism expediter", given the whole room full of screens thing.
At least that explains the difference between ZDS and Vampyr, so it solidifies them as both town.
What's interesting is that J-Effe was town roleblocker. We had a kill-less night, you will recall. It is possible that J-Effe blocked the kill- unfortunately, I can't get a breadcrumb from his posts of his block targets (if any). He did agree awful fast on the loran wagon and hold to that, so maybe he blocked loran. It's hard to say.

And although atlseal seems to be the next lynch, I'd prefer if people didn't rush until we are completely ready to go to night. CP's quick PM-sending raises an eyebrow in that respect.
I concur. On both points.
Incidentally, I don't entirely get why we want to "vanilla" ZDS immediately. Is it just to remove the -2 to lynch drawback?
Yeah. Actually, to draw on out-of-game knowledge, I've been looking to him to review my specialty setup, and he says he's been buried in PMs; so far, he hasn't gotten a chance to really look over it. I think the lack of confirmation PM is completely understandable under those circumstances.

Just because you don't have alot of votes, doesn't mean you're under no pressure. And in fairness, no, I don't really think that you and Grak are scum together. I think you are neutral scum, and who knows about Grak. I think distancing was the wrong word, I should have gone with two instances of distraction.
I also don't see where the appeal to emotion is meant to be, I think you're just saying as much stuff as you can and hoping it sticks.
"I didn't say it was a good trap" is nothing other than an appeal to emotion.

I think you're jumping to conclusions, and trying to throw suspicion on as many people as possible.

Man... you are getting WAAAAAY ahead of yourself.
I want to see where you possibly think I implied I had a retaliation ability.
While that *is* the kind thing I'm known to do, I have absolutely no memory of doing such a thing in this game and man.... why would a townie even take note of such a hint?
I still get bad vibes from AG in his way to address Grak here btw.
Fascinating. I mean, it's true. But not for the reason you think. Killing me would be bad for the scum, but not due to a retaliation ability. I guess I can see where you might think that's what I was talking about atleast.
Yeah. Actually, to draw on out-of-game knowledge, I've been looking to him to review my specialty setup, and he says he's been buried in PMs; so far, he hasn't gotten a chance to really look over it. I think the lack of confirmation PM is completely understandable under those circumstances.
I'll support Xyre on this. I asked him to review my specialty too and he said exactly the same thing.
CP's quick PM-sending raises an eyebrow in that respect.
Oh yes, because I wanted to speedlynch atl, and I thought the best way to manage it was to announce my (@raf: 1) vote in the thread, thus preventing any possibility of the lynch happening before it was expected. Yup, that's me, the mastermind.
Anyway, what exactly are we waiting for? fade probably doesn't need a whole lot of convincing to use his ability, and I don't see how atl's going to talk his way out of this. I would still like to see him use a :D, though. He's provided enough excuses since day 1 that he may well have a reason NOT to use it, which should only expose him as a liar even more.
What?! Look at the initial post; he is dead. Deceased. Kaputt. Indefinitely horizontal. In mafia games, you see, people are occasionally "killed off," and when that sad event occurs, he or she is no longer allowed to post, on account of rigor mortis and what-have-you.
'Welcome to Mafia Salvation', it said, 'Population: 3,660.' And someone, they never figured out who, had painted on the sign in red letters: '1,831 to lynch.'
Yeah, OK. Consider me voting atlseal as of now. Up to fade whether he vanilla-izes ZDS or not- ZDS himself not wanting it kind of tips me in the direction of "no", as is the fact I'd like ZDS and Vamp to remain available as targets for Grak to ultimately prove himself (should he be truthful and his events align).
Obviously if fade is town then his ability is a serious threat to the scum and is likely to die soon, so I definitely see where Puzzle is coming from as a "use it or lose it" kind of argument.
But I am somewhat more worried that the proposal to vanilla-ize ZDS was promoted before J-Effe was killed, while ZDS still had his potentially useful watcher ability. This has really just sunk in, that the plan involved fade targeting an effectively confirmed townie with a useful ability- meaning fade definitely wouldn't be targetting a scum tonight, and that we'd lose ZDS' watcher ability. That's a very good deal for the scum, and makes me worry about going along with it even now that ZDS has lost his ability anyway.
"I didn't say it was a good trap" is nothing other than an appeal to emotion.
Which emotion? Pity for my poor trap? It's an explanation. I say it's a trap, people say it's not a good trap, I point out I never said it was a good trap. It's not an emotional thing.

I also deny the bit about throwing suspicion on as many people as possible. Aside from rattling a few cages (such as noting the Alx vampire remark), if anything I'm not attacking as much as I usually do.
Tsk, tsk, tsk. I made a mention that my question to Fade as to why he didn't vanilla a mason was valid only before knowing ZDS had a watcher ability. Misrep ?
Nah. I think I was thinking of the people who were saying "vig the mason"- I wasn't talking about you at all.
I had been wondering to myself when I wrote that why people hadn't been attacked at the time for suggesting vanilla-izing our watcher- why I hadn't attacked it, too. It not actually happening would explain it!
@ HE7 : is the change of avatar permanent ? I'd want an answer before the lynch and the chance to discuss the ramifications of it.
Would also like that answer, although I can't imagine the answer is anything but yes unless he's a liar. If the target could change straight back the ability wouldn't be worth anything.
Of course, the trick is that so far as we know, the only avatar with meaning is the Smith avatar, which would make the only use for Hawkeye as a one-shot vanilla-izer of sorts, which seems close to what fade does, but we've been down this path already. And I never did finish that analysis- I think it will be high on my agenda for next morning, if I'm still here (and if I'm not, then I'm sure someone will do it for me).
If no one objects, I am going to send in my vote for atlseal tonite when I get home from practice.
I object as well.

If you're town and I'm mafia, you've already lost. You just don't know it yet.
Now that I'm back ... all I can say is that Xyre is lying. Or to put it as I think Axel said, "uh...?" As such, my vote is on him. For ZDS's count, Vote: Xyre
Really? Huh.
Unvote atlseal, Vote Azrael, the lying, lying bastard mod.
Xyre, is the following an accurate account of events:
1. Xyre tries to give atl spoon.
2. atl claims to refuse spoon.
3. The mod tells Xyre atl accepted the spoon.
4. Xyre votes atl and publically calls him a liar.
5. atl says he didn't lie.
6. Xyre immediately unvotes atl, accuses the mod of lying, and chooses to give atl another night.
I am a bit puzzled by your sudden change of heart, Xyre.
The way I see it, the delay could potentially be someone manipulating the mod and/or bastard mod play. Plus, as Axel said, why would he lie, and why would he lie and continue to do so despite knowing that I can check it rather easily? I'm still wary of atlseal, and something doesn't add up about all of this. Still, I think I'll wait to see if I can use a spoon tonight before lynching him.
I think it's a good idea, but only as long as we decide who should be shot, obviously. Depending on who's the vig, you never know what's going on in their head when theey chose their targets.
This is psychotic, but I think Grak has it. atl needs to be the play; we can't justify any other play, but Xyre is really making me worried that I'm wrong.
Honestly, I don't know what to think. I'm really rather confused by all of this.
Then again, perhaps I'm looking for a complex solution that looks better. In reality, it could just be the mod being really busy and atl being a liar, however irrational that may be.
The alternative, of course, is someone, somehow, fiddling with a PM that seems untampered with, which causes an impossible state (me being out of spoons, when I'm not). Either that, or someone forced atl to take the spoon without atl or me knowing such. It doesn't add up.
Xyre: are you stating that right now, at this minute, you do not know if you still have a spoon to give?
Have you asked? Is Azrael being vague and unclear in his answers?
I am having trouble with the idea that you don't know the answer to this.

I had to stop myself trolling Puzzle and Hawkeye in relation to that remark
Just because you could not figure out what obviously had happened is no reason for sour grapes.
That being said, I proceeding on the basis that Azrael has a perfectly good reason the mechanics of this game are playing out as they are and any perceived inconsistency is due to player ignorance of all the facts.
@ HE7 : is the change of avatar permanent ? I'd want an answer before the lynch and the chance to discuss the ramifications of it.
Of the four questions, I listed for Azrael he specifically did not answer that one. So to answer your question, I do not know for sure.

And I'm having even more trouble with the idea that he's not calling atlseal a liar anymore. It's frankly ridiculous.
"Xyre - I gave a spoon to atl. Atl - I didn't take the spoon. Xyre - Yes you did. Atl - No I didn't. Xyre - Oh sorry, my bad."
How comes you list the "atlseal is lying" option as less rational than having your PMs messed up by some kind of pink unicorn ?
I'm pretty sure I already did that post, although you do win a cookie for the pink unicorn line. Unless we get someone dead via horn through the chest in which case I am all over you for excessive prescience.
I think "ask Azrael how many spoons you have left and report back" is the best thing you can do here Xyre (if you're town, anyway). I would rely on Azrael to have consistent flavour (e.g. he's not going to tell you that you don't know if you have any spoons or not, because obviously that's something your character must know).
By the unofficial vote-count, Atlseal is almost lynched.
There's something fishy about this situation. Atlseal is a proven liar if we believe Xyre's word, but Xyre's reaction to Atlseal's counter is frankly horrible.
I'm in favor of both of them dying, to be honest. Order doesn't matter.
Hey, in my defense, the flavor of the PMs Az has sent me have the flavor of a mod trying to screw with my head. I have enough of a reason to be paranoid from that alone.

Excellent.
I shall await instances of me getting "jumpier and jumpier" from you then.
This will require another wagon...

Have you asked? Is Azrael being vague and unclear in his answers?
I am having trouble with the idea that you don't know the answer to this.
Just because you could not figure out what obviously had happened is no reason for sour grapes.
That being said, I proceeding on the basis that Azrael has a perfectly good reason the mechanics of this game are playing out as they are and any perceived inconsistency is due to player ignorance of all the facts.

Of the four questions, I listed for Azrael he specifically did not answer that one. So to answer your question, I do not know for sure.

Hey, I said I stopped myself trolling you!
Bing bing bing! We have a winner!

Hey, in my defense, the flavor of the PMs Az has sent me have the flavor of a mod trying to screw with my head. I have enough of a reason to be paranoid from that alone.
