I love Joboman, Poggy, Niv, and Vezok, because, while they may not be the best players, they still try to win. Having fun is the most important thing to a game, but I've learned that if you don't try to win, then you're ruining everyone else's fun.
So, interesting response from the moderator on my question.
It turns out that the things in my Role PM that i took to refer to the real world, actually still refer to the Matrix.
So everything I said before about needing a physical body for the flavor of my role to make sense, throw it out.
Of course, having it in the Matrix doesn't make a lot of sense either, but it does clean up the flavor problems we discussed before with the legacy characters in the matrix.
The "place" mentioned in my role PM is therefore in the matrix. But like I said, this doesn't actually change anything with Hvir's claimed role. The "place" in my role PM is a real world place that could exist in real life, and not a fantasy land where magical potions make you grow and caterpillars talk.
<---not in favor of partner coming out. Considering that your partner's rolename is obvious, there's no threat of him being lost after you die.

Mr Mason Partner is reluctant to come out, but is interested in knowing the current opinions of non-me, non-Grakthis members of the town on this subject. Please, help Mr Mason Partner reach a decision.

Ambush Krotiq makes me laugh so much. I keep rereading the card and it keeps not having Flash. In what sense is this an ambush again? I just have visions of this huge Krotiq poorly concealed in some bushes, feeling slightly sad that his carefully planned ambushes never seem to work.
I think I've been pretty clear that I want the 2nd mason to claim. There really isn't any subtlty to this.
Exactly my point. You're not using a velvet glove you're using a sledge hammer as your new way of getting the second mason to claim. Before you've been persistant, but fairly low key, about having the other mason show up.
Now, you're resorting to leveling accusations of ZDS sounding like he's trying to be a wiley scum on a gambit and looking for help.

Wow, that's a lot of posts that cropped up. You can cross me off the list of people that possibly have to do something with locations. I'm not really sure why you would claim something having to do with locations unless 1) You hope that it will never come out or 2) It's the mod screwing with you. This wagon has grown quick, so I'm not sure if it's a) a townie wagon or b) obvious scum. Right now I'm going with 1 and b.

Well, now we're at the end of the day. I really don't see anyone unvoting Hvir. There's no way he's proving himself town with his claim, his behavior has been sketchy enough that he's been on my shortlist for a good long time, and his roleclaim smells of "made up on the spot."
So, we're kinda at a point where I need to know in case the neccesary circumstances align for me to fix ZDS tonight.
I'm interested in hearing what Hawkeye has to say regarding locations, since, in fairness, Hvir did specifically mention them in regards to atlseal.
I'm opposed to the mason partner coming forward. Even if Grakthis' mystery ability can 'cure'(meaning remove the -2 to lynch aspect) one of them, this isn't that relevant now. It doesn't really surprise me that Alx is in favor of it, nor that he completely barned Grak about it.
All things considered, the fact that Hvir's other person hasn't cropped up is somewhat telling.
Unvote. I just want to see what Hvir says before I vote, because he hasn't posted in a bit.
Well, in all fairness, there is one last player left that hasn't commented on the situation and that's Athos. Seeing as how he's been MIA for double digit days, it stands to reason that his replacing will be happening at some point.
@Axel: No, no mention of day talking when ZDS claimed.
@the other Mason: Come out if you think Grak is being truthful about his ability, otherwise, there's no need to.

I do not believe this other Mason identifying himself is necessary either, unless Grakthis is swearing on a stack of Bibles that whatever it is he can do and whatever circumstances he can do it under could very possibly happen tonight, and only tonight and he really, really ought to do it on a Mason, and if he doesn't do it now then it's gone forever so he's got to be really, really sure right now, etc.
In other words, I don't think now's the time.

(No reruns. Period. Flashbacks – yes, reruns – NO!)
It all began when I first found myself here, in this horrible place. The voice in my head said this and it got me to thinking that maybe we needed to move around and get to a certain place for us to be able to figure out certain things.

Words of advice-
1. Flavor isn’t everything, but I didn’t reduce it to irrelevance. The characters retain a modicum of continuity with past events in the canon of matrix literature. Those players whose knowledge extends beyond the trilogy will have a small advantage in that regard.
1B. Wiki is your friend.
1C. Free your mind.
2. This is still your grandmother’s game of mafia. Use the skills you’ve honed in previous games. The setup will punish sloppy play with a vengeance, so bring your best game. Remember, your best ally as both town and mafia is playing off one another’s behavior, not the setup or the mod. 3. Because the unexpected is the new expected, you should expect the expected.
You open your eyes. You’re lying on your back, amidst what’s left of the Mega City Metro Mall. The first thing that hits you is the stench. You’d think digitalized blood and viscera wouldn’t smell that bad. Guess you were wrong. Somebody has a sick sense of realism.
When you sit up and look around, you’re struck by how strangely still everyone and everything around you is. Surrounding you, bodies, strewn everywhere, as if they'd rained down from the clouds. None moving, almost as though they were asleep. Any second now, they might wake up, just like you did, and start moving around. But you know they won’t. In the matrix, almost everything is an illusion. Everything except death. When someone dies here, it’s all too real.
You catch a glimpse of your reflection in a shard of glass, what’s left of the store window. A little blood-stained. Looks like a scratch, though you don’t remember getting it. Probably you could use a shave. Maybe they’ll have razors somewhere in here.
You pick yourself up, and walk out of the storefront. You’re the only thing moving. The whole mall is one big spiral staircase, with a glass pyramid roof opening up on the sky. Today, everything is pale and gray, full of clouds. The power is long gone, so all that’s left is the weak shaft of light falling from above.
You start walking, up. When they came, they came from below. If anyone else is left, that’s where they’ll be.
There’s a crunch of a boot on glass. A man in a tattered trench-coat steps out of the store-front to your left. One of the lenses of his sunglasses is knocked out. He looks at you like he thinks he sees a ghost. He looks like hell. You probably don’t look much better yourself.
You each slip a hand in your pocket, and start walking up.
At the top of the mall, there’s a final room. A glass floor, to let the light pass through. Beneath your toes you can see straight down, thirty-three stories, like you’re standing on air. Above, you can see white flecks of bird **** on the slanting window panes, and the reflections of two dozen other people.
You breath in deep. It’s time to start working your way out of this mess.Matrix Mafia Day One has begun. You may now post.
I don’t know maybe it is just me, but there seemed to be an indication that we, as a group, might be able to actually move around here and possibly improve our situation by doing so. Something like is done in Pirate Mafia on News. Obviously it is not spelled out that way, but the vivid description of our location and the indication in the instructions that this is not the run of the mill mafia game, combined with the strong suggestion that roleplaying would be a part of the game, possible an important post of the game, created the idea in my mind that we might move around in this world and that there maybe more to the game then just sitting hear listening to ourselves talk. At least I hoped so. I have no indication in my role pm that this is the case or that there are any other possible locations.
Here is the first post Imade suggesting that we move and right after it is Hvir’s first post that followed mine.
"Hello?! Ah, hello.
WoW, What a mess, huh?"
Long thin arms brush and swipe at the tatteres remains of an ordinary, and very reasonably priced, grey business suit.
"Everyone ok? I mean nobody really hurt...err, hurt bad? Of course if you are hurt you'd be really hurt.
Sorry. I tend to run off at the mouth when I get scared.
Sooo. Anyone have any idea what caused all this destruction?
Wow! Long way down is right. Do you think it might be important for us to keep moving, maybe up to the top of the mall or stay here and try to figure out what happened and who might be involved?"
Matrix? Like in the movies?, you know the Matirx movies with, oh who was that actor again, Christopher Reeves?. No, he was Superman. Ah... Keanu Reeves, yeah Keanu Reeves. Great movies. You a big fan or something
I support this idea - not much sense in getting bogged down with metagaming, particularly this early in the game. unvote loran16, because I might forget later.
Oh dear, it looks like we're in for a long first day.
No indication at all that there is anything related to moving to a location in his post.
Here is my second post talking about moving and Hvir’s posts that followed.
(“Hit the lights. I want him to look dramatic and sincere. Quiet, here he comes.”)
“Do any of you even care where we are, how we got here and what we are doing here?”
("Close up. I want a close up of this.")
“ I get that you all seem to be playing that mafia game. I used to play it in school, but doesn’t anyone think we should get moving? I’m going to go looking around, going up to the top down to the bottom. Maybe there’s a way out. I don’t know, but it beats staying here and arguing amongst ourselves.
If anyone is interested, I’ve been listening.
To your discussion, and to your game and if I were playing the game I’d rank you people this way in terms of liability or likelihood of being mafia.
Most likely to least likely, but......, you know what?, maybe it isn't such a good Idea to come right out and list all of you.
Here, this is the most suspicious and the least as I see it.
carrion pigeons -7
Gratis +5
Now this is as of post #127. I’m reading from there on to see how much this might change. Sorry if this looks a little, well anal, it’s what I do. I mean what I do for a living, you know numbers, risk assessments, stuff like that. I'll tell you what though. The second most suspicious player is a real surprise. I'm keeping a special eye on him.
Anyway, since you guys all seem set on playing this game
I’ll VOTE: Carrion Pigeons
and start trying to head outside.” Hawkeye7 then moves off actively looking for a way out of the Mall.
Your vote carries far less power then you seem to think it does. With 24 players in the game, it takes 13 votes to lynch someone. At the point you voted Vampyr, and then for Cyan, neither of them had ANY votes. All that your retaliatory votes do for you is make you look even worse than before.
Not even an off-hand comment of question regarding my comments on moving. Then, 2 posts later this and again no mention.
Would you argue that placing votes on them did NOT make you look any worse? You don't HAVE to vote for someone if you disagree with what they're saying. Voting for someone is a poor substitute for sound logical argument.
By 'wagon', are you referring to carrion pigeon’s rather poorly veiled attempt to disprove my earlier statement about voting being unnecessary so early in the game, and Axelrod's follow-up vote? Storm in a teacup.
I was waiting to hear from Atlseal to see if he would support or not Hvir’s claim. I am now think that he is lying and will
Vote: Hvirfilvindr
Which should put him at -1.

Sarnath'd by Hvir- ok, I have no idea what's going on since Sutherlands didn't scream to protect Hvir (although he did call the wagon scummy; I guess he didn't expect some people to get carried away with voting/intentionally quicklynch)
I have absolutely no idea about any locations and have absolutely no relationship to Hvir's role. I also have no idea what is meant by "Sutherlands is to me what Cyan is to Axelrod," unless you're trying to say that I am a hitman that needs you dead and I know about game locations, cuz that's all i can make of that.
No, no. I just took from your previous post that you were some sort of Alice bodyguard - you seemed so certain that you were marked for death. Carry on.
I don't know...now that I think about it and look over the last few posts. If Suth expects to no longer be in the thread, why continue the PR, whether fake or no?

Nothing subtle about it. Your entire basis for voting him seemed to be that he didn't respond to your extremely casual remarks about location, while you completely disregarded the fact that he made an obvious reference to location(s) when he unvoted atlseal. A point that I find it hard for you to have missed, because it was specifically mentioned during the Hvir wagon. Considering that your main point against me was that I missed/misreprensented you, and you are now twice guilty of the same crime..by your own logic, that makes you scum, doesn't it?

If this is what you found suspicious, then why didn't you just come out and say it?
"Thank God this nightmare is over" doesn't seem like something you'd say if you're trying to get lynched.
Hawkeye's lynch vote(not the vote itself, the post) bothers me some, but, we'll see what happens.
Maybe I can answer that for you. By posting this you do two things. You get to reinforce the fact that I was the lynching vote on Hvir and you get to, for the second time recently say something about my post "bothers" you but you don't actually post what it is. If you don't post a reason and just say something about my posts "bothers' you, no one can argue against your reasoning. It just leaves the impression that I have done something wrong with little or no risk to you of being contradicted.
Now to address your reasoning, look at Hvir's claim from his point of view and also assume it is true.
You have the role of the most prominent character in the Alice story.
It is unknown to you if there are any other characters from that story line in the game.
You have a Very uncommon ability that is based on moving to specific locations and having other players move to the same locations.
IMO, at this point in the game, none of this seems to fit the theme of The Matrix at all.
Then along come HAWKEYE7 who posts twice asking about possibly moving and that it might help us. I don't know about the rest of you, but if I were Hvir and all this was true, I would have at least posted in some way trying to find out if HAWKEYE7 was somehow tied to this strange location ability. Maybe not immediately, but at some time in the game.
Hvir NEVER did this.
It was not until much later and then only the once that he meantioned locations before he made this claim. Then we have had nearly every player in the game come out as unable to corroborate Hvir's claim and the one that was the most important and likely to be able to do that, Atlseal comes out and states he cannot support the claim either.
This was the final point for me.
I think Hvir saw Atlseal's claim of being the Cheshire Cat as an opportunity to cobble together a false claim based on that character's story theme.
The ability, I'm not sure why he chose that if he is mafia unless he thought he had a good chance of someone having locations mentioned in their PM's or that he might be able to fake an undisprovable lie.
I hope this clarifies any question you might have as to my motivation for my vote.
It is now acedemic as we will soon see if Hvir is lying or not.

Dusk falls over the city. The crowd gathers, seethes, and swells. The day was long and tortuous, rife with intrigue and rhetoric. The pattern for what is to come has been set. The first glimmerings are beginning to unfold.
But for some, the end has already arrived. Hvirfilvindr stands alone before the crowd.
Axelrod is the first to act. He seizes her by the black bow in her hair, and drags her to the rail. Her eyes take in the drop, thirty-three stories to the floor. Her pupils widen. Then, narrow.
"Oh, pooh. I’m not afraid of you! Why, you’re nothing but a pack of cards!"
Her defiance ends when Hawkeye7's foot sends her tumbling over the railing. A thin, shrill scream escapes her lips, and her dress flutters towards the earth in furious and frantic billows.
When her youthful body meets the ground, a looking glass tumbles from her breast pocket and shatters into a thousand pieces upon the black and white tiled floor. Her head departs from her body, and rolls its way into the food court, leaving behind a trail of blood.
Minutes later, upon descending to the lowest level, the crowd finds no trace of weaponry or any other evidence pointing to foul play on her tattered corpse. By all appearances, Hvirfilvindr, Alice, Townie Reflector, was an innocent.
But the events of the day are not yet concluded with the untimely death of Alice. As the group splits up, and returns to their nightly haunts, Sutherlands falls into a seizure upon the floor, beside Alice. His eyes roll up into his head, leaving only white. His body flickers, and vanishes.
Moments later, he rematerializes, his features subtly different. Sutherlands has been replaced by Matjoeman.
Day one is ended, and night awaits. All parties have up to five days to return their actions. On July 25th, 11:00 AM EST, the deadline will pass. Good luck.
---
Thursday-Sunday I'm planning on grinding into U.S. Nats, so it's unlikely I'll have computer access during that period. If night results come in promptly, I should be able to start the day beforehand.
A beautiful sunrise emerges beyond the glass, the clouds parting to reveal pink, golden, and light blue rays washing over everything. But in another moment, a harsh wind blows from the north, and darker clouds blot out the sun.
The day is convened by ghostly, transparent, bedraggled man in blood-soaked sneakers. In his arms, he carries LJustus, and lays her to rest on the glass floor before you. The town's population of young girls is falling steeply.
LJustus, Sati, Townie Sacrificial Lamb, has been killed. She is unusually pale. Two puncture wounds are prominent upon her neck, and her face is covered with superficial scratches.
The humans among you also report mysterious activity, amongst their ships. The schedule for replacement red pills has been altered. The machines also note unusual changes in their repair and retirement protocols.
The town's supply of innocents is dwindling, and many mysteries still remain. The second day of Matrix Mafia has begun.
Vote Hawkeye. I was never satisfied with the way Hawkeye latched onto my wagon yesterday. That, combined with the inconsistency/lack of logic in why he decided to vote for Hvir is enough that I think he's worth looking at. Seriously, voting someone because they didn't mention locations, when in reality Hvir did mention them, just not when you wanted..that is seriously reaching. What really doesn't make sense is why someone would feel the need to add a justification(particularly one that isn't valid) in the first place, when Hvir's claim alone was enough to vote for him.
What?! Look at the initial post; he is dead. Deceased. Kaputt. Indefinitely horizontal. In mafia games, you see, people are occasionally "killed off," and when that sad event occurs, he or she is no longer allowed to post, on account of rigor mortis and what-have-you.
'Welcome to Mafia Salvation', it said, 'Population: 3,660.' And someone, they never figured out who, had painted on the sign in red letters: '1,831 to lynch.'
I don't buy Hvir's claim at all.

In other words, I don't think now's the time.
Sod it, vote Hvirfilvindr.
It all began when I first found myself here, in this horrible place. The voice in my head said this and it got me to thinking that maybe we needed to move around and get to a certain place for us to be able to figure out certain things.
No indication at all that there is anything related to moving to a location in his post.
Here is my second post talking about moving and Hvir’s posts that followed.
And your next post was the very next post made.
Not even an off-hand comment of question regarding my comments on moving. Then, 2 posts later this and again no mention.
I was waiting to hear from Atlseal to see if he would support or not Hvir’s claim. I am now think that he is lying and will
Vote: Hvirfilvindr
Which should put him at -1.

That, or he expects to be nightkilled.
Hawkeye's lynch vote(not the vote itself, the post) bothers me some, but, we'll see what happens.

LOL.
Cyan, you make me laugh.
Tell me, is there anything about me that doesn't "bother you" on some subtle or near imperceptible level?
I missed Hvir voting for himself. Well, at least there is a fair amount of actions and posts to cross reference with what will be revealed with his lynch. This should be very interesting.
Excellent! Grade A Stuff there LJ.

There now, that wasn't so hard was it?
If this is what you found suspicious, then why didn't you just come out and say it?

Good luck.

Thursday-Sunday I'm planning on grinding into U.S. Nats, so it's unlikely I'll have computer access during that period. If night results come in promptly, I should be able to start the day beforehand.
