So rather than trying to add some content to a post, you post next to nothing again.
And then when no one comments it, you point it out?
Trying to instigate something there?
Its the random voting stage....there's little to post. Besides, on this board, there's at least 1-2 people who post little content per post and little reasonings regardless of alignment. I'm not saying that doing something like this isn't scummy, but at this point in the game its a bit too early to go after someone for this.
In fact, that's why i'm voting archaic knight, for using this reasoning for a vote. Its this early in the day, he CAN go jumping in and out like that, and its not scummy. AK's singleminded pursuit of mr. serpent IS on the other hand.
Course Stricken, you're not even voting him hmmmm? FOS Stricken. For someone talking bout not posting anything substantial, why aren't you voting person then? I mean, talk about useless posts.

Warcraft III mafia was NOT broken.....
If the mafia had just claimed amongst the neutrals, *sigh*.
Just letting ya'll know that I am still here. I've been having some hellish computer problems, but a guy is coming tonight to fix it. I'll be able to be constructive afterwards.
So, here's an idea. In their next post, everyone who's not voting for someone at least semi-seriously should vote for someone and give a reason.
It doesn't have to be a real good reason, not much having happened yet, but no more skating by with strictly jokes. Everyone votes. And then we talk about it.
I'm voting Ice Serpant just because he hasn't said anything, and went out of his way to post that he hadn't said anything, and then, after he was called out for not saying anything, he posted and didn't say much (except, look I unvoted.) That's all.
My vote is staying on AK for the moment because his first reason for voting serpent was NOT that he wasnt giving any information (Not that this is a valid excuse, see more below), but with the statement:
Apparently, thou dost not even have a vote. Either that or the vote count art faulty. It art irrelevant either way.
which was a. clearly false if you looked back a page and b. completey irrelevant.
Then you switch to the whole, he is'nt posting content excuse, which seems to be everyone's convenient voting reason these days.
Its barely day 1, why should they need to post content people???

If the mafia had just claimed amongst the neutrals, *sigh*.
IT IS NEVER EVER, EVER, a good time for a lurker lynch in a game without a deadline. Lurker lynches often lynch people without claims, a situation that hurts the town more than the scum, and meanwhile we get much less information going on the next day as a person's reaction to the lynchee is kind of minimal when the lynchee is a person not speaking much.
Lurker lynches are bad mkay

So are we going to go with Buttercup's idea or not? It seems like about half of us are for it and half aren't. It seems like a reasonable idea, so I am in favor of it if we all agree to.
I think so. I also see no reason not to go along with it even if other people aren't.
I think your right.
I think I am going to Vote:Archaic Knight, because moving to Lynch a random lurker is just a bad idea, and for his attacks on Ice Serpent when so many people were not contributing.
But I am putting a side Fos on Stricken, because although he(she?) is less scummy, he still was trying to pursue people for lack of content in the random voting stage.

It wasn't so much the lack of content. It was Person pointing out that his post was only an "Unvote". I didn't understand the point of that and felt Person was trying to provoke an argument.
I agree with AK that some pressure is necessary somewhere to stir conversation. I also agree with W3C that lynching a lurker is bad, especially at this point.
So I will go with Vote: Stealth_Ninja. He posted right after Buttercup made the suggestion of voting with a reason. He didn't unvote, or at least give a reason for voting Johnsonville (which I don't believe there was a reason for since it's a random vote). I see Buttercup's post as moving out of the random stage and at that point more than gimmick'ing a gimmick is needed.

You appear to be stretching a bit to justify this vote. Do you really think you have "caught" AK in some kind of contradiction here? I beleive he voted Ice Serpant for the same reason as me, which was post #43 "Nothing to see here..." which was a worthless post.
I don't actually recall if there was some discrepancy in the vote count which AK was referring to there.
Vote Pineapple. Unexplained votes are bad. Especially unexplained votes against me :teach:.
Is this a serious vote, or are you still joking? This does nothing to make me want to remove mine, and I have no reason for this vote other than lack of participation.
I should stop with the horrible puns, shouldn't I?
Anyway, here's the list of people I'd like to hear more from:
1. Stealth_Ninja
5. The Lollipop Kids
8. Shaniqua
9. Johnsonville
10. Ice_Serpent
Others would do well to post more, but these are the ones that I feel have been least contributive the past couple of days.
Least contributive? Just because people are posting doesn't mean they're contributing anything.
Right now I think that I will Vote Pineapple. Why? Well... the way he put a vote down on someone with a few votes already while trying to keep his own vote on the DL.

So, Lone Star, now you see that evil will always triumph because good is dumb.
It's really too early in the game to get a good read on anyone, but the ones that jump out at me right now are Pineapple, who jumped on me without giving a reason, and Stealth Ninja, for contributing as little or less than me except for a completely unexplained vote on Johnsonville.
He hasn't really had many of his own thoughts yet today. Most of his posts contain, "Yeah, What he said!"
Also, FoS: Stealth Ninja I'd like for him to actually put some thoughts in his posts rather than just "poofing in/out" and not posting anything in between.
Wow, so now I'm at -1 to lynch? It is polite to at least ask for a claim before a lynch, Lollipop.
Well, since I'm already there, lest some scum speedlynches me, I'm going to claim now.
I am The Lawyer. I am a female corporate who worked for Mr Blue, and was almost hired by him on the spot when he met me. I greatly enjoyed the time I spent working for him, so now basically my pride won't let me get away with letting the people who killed him live.
I can't say I'm surprised to see a vanilla role claimed, even if if he did jump the gun in doing so. Ice_SerpenT was someone on my list of suspects. I'm not to sure about the claim, so he stays on my "To Watch" list.
At the moment, I'm keeping my vote on Stealth_Ninja until he shows up and adds something to the game

I'm not entirely sure, but the more information that needs to be included in a claim, the bigger chance the chance of someone making a mistake on a falseclaim.
I think I'm going to go ahead and say that I mostly believe his claim. I don't think that scum would have put out a false claim without making absolutely sure he was about to be lynched. The only real other possibility I can see is that he didn't have a good argument, so he came out with an early claim to deflect criticism instead, and I don't see that as being all that likely.
The only real other possibility I can see is that he didn't have a good argument, so he came out with an early claim to deflect criticism instead, and I don't see that as being all that likely.
Why not?
Ice Serpent's claim doesnt really tell us anything, I doubt the scum are evident by their names. My vote's staying there for now, but I want person to answer my question
@Person - My character is 29. I didn't say my age earlier because I didnt think it was relevant.
Strangely enough I don't have an age. I don't know what this means for the game but I thought I’d bring it up. At the very least it should make for an interesting discussion topic. Were some of us given more info about our respective roles then others? Will this info play any part in the game? I wouldn't expect so given that fade said it would be basic.
That claim, as vanilla, obv doesn't do anything one way or the other for me. But I was only voting because of early non-participation. Making the "Lawyer" scum seems too obvious also. I tend to think if he really was scum and also a Lawyer, he'd have been slightly more reluctant to say it. That's just speculation though.
I'm gonna have to say that I think it's highly likely that Ice_SerpenT is mafia now. He says he's at lynch-1 and claims. Someone points at that it's 8 to lynch, not 5, and he says "oh i thought there were 11 people"... which would mean 6 to lynch, still not 5. He just kinda threw his claim out there... and the Lawyer sounds like a mafia to me...
Unvote, vote Ice_SerpenT

@Ice Serpent: What bugs me about your play is that you really haven't contributed anything. Your reactions to both AK's and Pineapple's votes were suspicious as well.
Re SN and no age: It's clear that at least some of us have described ages but we can't really know if they play a part or not, and if they do I wouldn't like anyone claiming to confirm that. And there is always a possibility they matter for the scum, in which case we don't really want to reveal any information about them either.

He claimed a lawyer - why haven't we lynched him yet?
I don't like what you're doing in these two posts. He's trying to put additional pressure on me while refraining from voting or at least a FOS.
Basically, I think those two posts deserve an Unvote,Vote SirSleepDeprived.
ebwodp: My reaction to the first quote should have been this: I don't know how to respond to allegations of not posting content, other than posting content, so here it is.
I believe my first post was valid. Your previous post had seemed like you were responding to the pressure put on you by posting something but that that post had contained very little actual content. To be fair, there was probably little you could have said simply due to the lack of overall content at that point - thus the no vote. But yes, that post could have included a FOS.
The second post you quote was a joke - the next 3 words of the post are "In all seriousness..." Try keeping things in context next time you try to deflect attention onto someone.

sets off my scumdar air sirens. Voting over a mistake? It happens. What does Ice_SerpenT gain by claiming sooner rather than later? It's more of a newb play than anything.

Well, I declare Ice Serpent officially stupid. It's also possible he is just new, but if there was ever a time not to use an OMGUS vote, it was right then.
I was perfectly happy to let him off thinking he had just made a couple mistakes, but he is now starting to look pretty bad. With that last post he was clearly just trying to direct suspicion away from himself, and he even tried to make the person look bad by taking a joke out of context of all things.
Johnsonville also made a slightly scummy move, but after that blatant OMGUS of Ice Serpent, I am going to go with a FoS: Johnsonville
