The hours drag on and on with no resolution. Finally, weary of arguing through what appears to be a web of lies and deceit, the group decides Kops is the most suspicious.
"I'm not guilty!" Kops pleads, "Please, listen to me! Think!"
"We're running out of time, dammit!" come the replies.
Kops shudders as the guards approach him. He breaks out into a cold sweat, and there is a loud yelp as he suddenly grabs his chest. He collapses to the floor.
"Medic! We need a medic in here!" someone cries out.
It's too late, though. Kops, Edgar Stiles, Townie Watcher has died of a heart attack.
You look at each other in shock and dismay, the weight of being responsible for the death of a true hero who earlier in the day had saved America from nuclear meltdown is a heavy burden. No one says a word. Not even the tick of a clock is heard.

What exactly is a Busdriver and how is that role good for the town?
I still think AG is the play. Before I vote him and take the minute chance he's town and he get's wagoned by the scum, does anyone else have any suggestions as who would be a good choice to look at?

A busdriver switches targets on one player to another player. Makes sense - if he'd been the opposite (switch a player's targets to another player), then we'd have scum.
I hasn't posted as no one bothered to answer my question until now. I will Vote: AbbeyGargoyle.
I would still hold off on vig'ing as we're at 7. After a lynch and a NK, that leaves us with 5 and still in LyLo range. If you're wrong about Xyre, then the scum win overnight.
Don't forget it was Xyre that AG was trying to wagon when I became suspicious of him.
Also, I'm going to mention that I think Alx and Cyan are likely the other scum members. Alx has been mixing things up with a lot of different people and Cyan has really been in the shadows since he replaced in.

I think the play is either Xyre or AbbeyGargoyle, and I'm pretty sure they are BOTH mafia, so it is only a matter of preference at this point.
I'm going to Vote: AbbeyGargoyle and Vig Xyre tonight.
Great, good game, everybody! [/wifom]
But seriously, this is about as lynch-or-lose as it gets. Assuming 3 mafia, we need to lynch scum here or lose, and that's not even including any alternative WCs like in L5R.
My scum list hasn't changed, and at this point, I'm willing to give my biggest fan a chance. FOS AbbeyGargoyle until he responds.
Given that FO (as confirmed innocent as it gets) voted AG, we've probably already lost of AG is town. Might as well Vote Abbey and hope for the best. FOSing is for sissies.
Might as well make the day quick (which is honestly best for the town at this point, my claim won't do ****). I am Michelle Dessler, townie.
Which is why I was suspicious of Xyre being a vanilla as well. Seemed too convenient.
Anyways, take a look at whoever hammers me. Also I think the scum list is Alx, fade and FO. I REALLY think DYH is playing games with our heads on the Jack Bauer claim.
I really don't understand the case on AG. His claim isn't inspiriing, but, why was he forced to claim so quickly in the first place? And why are we in such a rush on a day which has a high probability of being lynch or lose?
The time passes by quickly, and AbbeyGargoyle is fingered as the main suspect.
"Wait, no, stop, what are you doing!? I'm Michelle Dessler! We have wasted so much time!"
AbbeyGargoyle pleads to avoid interrogation, but to no avail. The guards take off with their captive.
It is a short process, really. Already heartbroken from the death of her ex-husband, Tony Almeida, Michelle Dessler (Townie Semi-Mason) succumbs to the pharmaceutical kit and dies.
The sound of gunfire startles everyone from their tasks. Standing in the main room of CTU, Forgotten One, Jack Bauer, Town Vigilante/One-shot Bulletproof has drawn his weapon and is firing at someone. It's Alx, who ducks behind a nearby PC which explodes upon impact. Alx, Habib Marwan, Mafia Godfather, steps out and brandishes his own pistol, firing rounds at Jack. The two battle back and forth, shattering glass and destroying countless items in the process. Bauer manages to land a shot in Marwan's arm, and pulls the trigger again for the kill shot.
Out of ammo!
Just then he feels the cold steel of a gun against his temple. It's Cyan, Navi Araz, Mafia Goon.
"That's quite enough, Mr. Bauer." he smirks.
By this time, the injured Marwan is standing next to him as well, gun aimed at his head. From around the corner, Fadeblue, Marianne Taylor, Mafia Mole arrives with Vampyr, David Palmer, Vanilla Townie and Xyre, Sarah Gavin, Vanilla Townie in tow.
"Kill them." announces Marwan, nodding at Marianne.
Marianne Taylor makes quick work of Sarah and David, slicing their throats with a knife.
"You might still be of some use to us, Mr. Bauer." grins Habib before knocking him out with the butt of his handgun.
Several hours later, the City of Los Angeles is wiped off the map by a nuclear strike.
Damn. The mafia really coordinated well there to place all the votes well. Alx's post at the end was soooo scummy, but I didn't take advantage of it. Damn.
And I should have known, if I don't get a read on Cyan or fadeblue, something's wrong there.
My nominations:
Town MVP - I don't know if anyone really deserves this, but Rafk played a pretty good game, as far as I can tell. Seriously, though, the town really sucked. Perfect mafia victories shouldn't happen.
Town LVP - Hmm. CP really screwed the town by counterclaiming Nai and in the process taking out both investigative roles, so I think he'd deserve this.
Mafia MVP - In a toss-up between fade and Cyan, I'll go with fade. I had no idea he was mafia, whereas with Cyan, I could understand it.
Mafia LVP - Alx's game was a bit choppy, but it wasn't necessarily bad (and the results should speak for themselves here), so I don't think he deserves an LVP.
Gaah...freaking AG. If you had just posted a reason for voting Xyre I wouldn't have bothered to crusade you. Fade, you played a good game. I never once suspected you.
So we had no Doc, am I seeing that correctly?
Very interesting setup DYH. I had loads of fun playing.

Of course the Mafioso I try to Vig is the freakin' Godfather... !@#!$!@#!
I had my suspicions of Cyan being mafia, but I really didn't know who the third was (I really thought it was DGC). I was trying to bait some people in agreeing with me about Xyre being scum, but nobody took the bait. Oh well.
I think we basically lost once the crap started regarding Nai and CP/Kops. When the town lynches both of their investigative roles, you know we're in trouble.
Interesting setup. Vigilante, Tracker, Watcher, Busdriver, 2 Semi-Masons, and 3 Vanillas versus a Mafia Godfather, Mole, and a Goon. No Doc, Cop, or Roleblockers. I like it.
@Vampyr: Sometimes the GF has NK immunity instead of investigation immunity. Especially in this game, being investigation immune would have been fairly useless.
Actually, I had both NK immunity and investigation immunity - although the latter obviously a red herring in the absense of a cop. And I was acting deliberately scummy toward the AG lynch in order to get vigged, btw...

Out of curiosity, who would the mafia have targeted for the NK last night? In order for us to get to tomorrow, I had to hit mafia (and apparently, not the GF) plus the Mafia had to target me (and hence fail the NK attempt). That would have put as at 3 Town, 2 Mafia for Day 4.

You mean that in addition to having a roleclaim that made you 100% lynchproof, you were also unnightkillable!?
You mean that in addition to having a roleclaim that made you 100% lynchproof, you were also unnightkillable!?
I had a one-shot nightkill immunity, which is a game this small is huge. It makes up a little bit for the fact that we have no Doc.
By the way, nice little interchange with Fadeblue during Day 1. I totally fell for it and though that if you were scum then Fadeblue was probably Town. I'm so bad at this game sometimes.
I was pretty sure I was going to get it in the neck night 3, but I wasn't allowed to switch stuff targetting me. If I was, my choice was absolutely going to be Alx and me (I ended up doing Alx and FO I think, in case I got lucky and switched a roleblock onto the mafia kill or something).
Once again, a lesson as to why I should never let myself get distracted when crusading someone. I hope I gave the mafia at least a minor fright by replacing in and zeroing in on Alx like that Once kops came up town, I actually more or less had the mafia correct- I was just undecided between Xyre and Cyan for the 3rd spot. Alx I was angry at myself for not pursuing harder, and fade was just being too useless to be town
cp blew the game for the town, pretty much, by being directly responsible for the day 1 mislynch, lying afterwards, then replacing out without even trying to explain it.
I don't think Feuer's night choice to swap actions targetting FO and cp was bad. I don't know what I would have done if it was me, but the best use of the role seemed to be to try to use it to doc the most likely kill/RB target and try and get the kill/RB redirected to the most likely scum, and I think that's what feuer was trying for.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was trying to do. Assuming the mafia had gone to kill FO and hit cp instead, it would have saved the town the hassle of wasting a lynch on cp.
Didn't pan out as I'd hoped, but it seemed the best play at the time.
I don't really think so. From the perspective of the bus driver, the one claimed role going into night(especially a role like Jack Bauer) is highly unlikely to be targeted with an NK. It's alot of WIFOM and metagaming, but it falls along the same lines as, when you're the Doc, often you don't even have to bother protecting a power role a N1, because the mafia isn't going to target them in the first place.
The "Semi-Mason" role was that Michelle (AG) and Tony (WOLG) would realize one another was in the game during Night One. They each were to receive a PM stating that they knew the other was in the game and 100% town. Unfortunately, WOLG was vigged that night and Abbey forgot in his haste to claim the connection. This also gave Fade's role a chance to 'intercept' that knowledge.
Yeah, no doc, no cop, and no roleblockers, per se. I thought it was an interesting setup and fit the theme, as the folks in 24 never really have "definite" information, and far too many people die, even in the medical ward.
I'm glad most everyone seemed to enjoy it- that's the ultimate goal!

Ah, good thing we didn't try to ever kill you then!
By the way, nice little interchange with Fadeblue during Day 1. I totally fell for it and though that if you were scum then Fadeblue was probably Town. I'm so bad at this game sometimes.
I was hoping the distancing worked, given that it was rather unnecessary of me to throw dirt on Alx like that. I think more people than just you may have bought it.
Once again, a lesson as to why I should never let myself get distracted when crusading someone. I hope I gave the mafia at least a minor fright by replacing in and zeroing in on Alx like that
Actually, I was quite prepared to throw Alx under if it became necessary. But I didn't think it'd ever come to that, as I felt we managed suspicion against him fairly well.
fade was just being too useless to be town
That was actually what I was most worried about! Especially coming down to the endgame... And the last day, we're in a lynch-or-lose situation, and I'm not advocating a mass-claim? I tell you, it was really tough for me trying to figure out how to look like I was contributing without contributing *too* much, while at the same time trying to draw the game out without looking like I was trying to draw the game out...
cp blew the game for the town, pretty much, by being directly responsible for the day 1 mislynch, lying afterwards, then replacing out without even trying to explain it.
I agree this did a *lot* of damage to the town. But it was actually still salvageable if the town had caught on to one of us earlier.
I don't think Feuer's night choice to swap actions targetting FO and cp was bad.
It definitely wasn't bad - I was just noting it was convenient because I tried to intercept FO's PMs and ended up intercepting CP's, thereby denying him his information! Without that, I think there would have been less confusion around CP's claim, and you wouldn't have had to out yourself as a bus driver.
All in all, definitely a great setup and a fun game. Thanks a lot, DYH!
And thanks to Alx and Cyan for being good scum partners. Actually, I was worried Dakkon was going to screw things up for us, so I was kind of happy he got replaced. But honestly, I was a bit worried when it turned out to be Cyan, because I thought that me and him *not* arguing might have given us away
Actually, the question of whether you can redirect the kill away from yourself was a big topic in our night discussion. Eventually we decided that, for reasons of game balance, you shouldn't be able to.
I played atrociously this game during the day. so it's only fitting that I miss the flavor confirmation thing. It certainly didn't help that I never watch 24 and signed up for this game.
Sadly, this might be the last game I play in over here for a while, I start an investment banking job in 2 weeks.

I'm so bad at this game

I was hoping the distancing worked, given that it was rather unnecessary of me to throw dirt on Alx like that. I think more people than just you may have bought it.
Actually, I was quite prepared to throw Alx under if it became necessary. But I didn't think it'd ever come to that, as I felt we managed suspicion against him fairly well.
I agree this did a *lot* of damage to the town. But it was actually still salvageable if the town had caught on to one of us earlier.
Actually, the question of whether you can redirect the kill away from yourself was a big topic in our night discussion. Eventually we decided that, for reasons of game balance, you shouldn't be able to.
Sadly, this might be the last game I play in over here for a while, I start an investment banking job in 2 weeks.
In other words, "I don't have the time to lie to people as a hobby, I need to do it for a living".
Good luck with your new job, AG!
