Nah, Grimclaw unvoted kops in his last post, and Kenji unvoted Mosschop some time back. In fact, I think he even voted Azrael and unvoted him in the interim. Also, keep in mind there have been roles in existence before whose votes don't count. Always best to go with what the mod posts, but certainly it should be questioned if there be any inconsistencies. I'll unvote simply because the time for thoughtless voting is over. I'll just wait for someone to screw up until I vote again (probably).
Disagree. The time to end thoughtless voting is when we have a bandwagon going with a certain degree of reiability behind it. Up until then, thoughtless voting is, to a large extent, one of the best means of keeping the day moving, on day 1 especially.
I can't say that the votes on Puzzle constitute a wagon (as much as I wish they could :p), but you, on the other hand have already shown up on my radar once, and now you're defending a player about whom you know nothing game-related. I have to say, I'm liking my vote (thoughtless as it may be).
What?! Look at the initial post; he is dead. Deceased. Kaputt. Indefinitely horizontal. In mafia games, you see, people are occasionally "killed off," and when that sad event occurs, he or she is no longer allowed to post, on account of rigor mortis and what-have-you.
'Welcome to Mafia Salvation', it said, 'Population: 3,660.' And someone, they never figured out who, had painted on the sign in red letters: '1,831 to lynch.'

Now, Treigit brings up a good point about the pantheons.
Of course, I don't want everyone to go around claiming pantheons since that's clearly much more helpful to the scum than to us; HOWEVER, I believe it will be useful information to the town for me to say that my god does NOT fall into ANY of his categories (including Kamigawa). My reasoning behind saying this is that a) I don't see how it helps the scum except that they can possibly rule out roles like Zeus from me, but unless they have some role with a list..... that shouldn't give too much indication to my ability as there are countless gods out there, but the main reason is that b) it will help back up my claim if it comes to that.
Well since this is my first Mafia game, I was disappointed with the pace of Day 1. I guess at the time I just wanted us to make more progress. Pidgeon was confused as to why I would say nice things about you since I don't know you, but I like you and thought I'd be kind.

If it is inherently in favour of the town then why would you as a townie be worried. As to it being rushed .. well, theres been a lot of random voting, posting and speculation but nothing solid. Given that there are 28 players the four or five votes on puzzle are currently meaningless until something more concrete turns up .. and the fact that you are one of the pepole who voted for him makes your comment even stranger.
Unvote, Vote Bluesoul
It was speculation. Nothing more. I can, in fact, comment about the MTGS metagame and have it mean not a lot.
I'm polite? WTF. Someone asks me what I think of them and I'm supposed to call them an A-hole Mafia P.O.S? That's not my personality in or out of Mafia. Obviously I'm going to look like scum, since this is my first mafia game.
Actually, MD_ may not be aware, but I go by "Tycho" on MTGNews. I am playing in a mafia game with him over there, too. So much for that defense.
I can't discuss anything ongoing, but suffice it to say this "day one is too slow" attitude is par for the course - for what that's worth.
Ok, my basis for voting Puzzle was that he seemed to be trying to push the game a little faster than I thought it should go. I admit this was pretty bad logic (especially seeing as I ended up doing almost exactly what I voted him for doing), but at the time, I didn't have a better target. So basically, it was half bad logic and half random. As such:
unvote
Now I have a better target... Vote: MD
With the exception of a few posts in the past page or so (which I might say were direct responses to questions people asked him), he has been doing a very good job of excusing himself from lurking while at the same time posting almost no useful information. There was a series of posts that were just unofficial vote counts, and then there were a couple posts that really had nothing in them. To me, this just says, "I don't want to be considered a lurker, but I also want to wait and figure out what to say without possibly incriminating myself (i.e. lurk)."
I just feel like MD has done the best job of excusing lurking while still lurking if you understand what I mean by that.
This game started before Werewolf Mafia. This IS my first game. Think before you speak.
vote - Disrupt_Your_Hymn simply because you speak lies.
Well, that actually depends on your version of "starting". This day 1 didn't start until Monday, 6/19. The other game's day one started on Saurday, 6/17.
Okay, seriously, you have like four votes on you, there is absolutely no need to panic and start spewing information. There are 27 people in this game, it takes 14 to lynch. Setting yourself up to be a martyr is no way to help here.
Besides, if kops keeps posting like that, I'll be voting him, instead. Setting up yourself for your claim already? Got some reason you want to be telling us all who it is you are?
Oh noes! I don't want to be on Arimnaes suspect list!
Unvote
Vote MD
But... Krash, thank you for acknowledging that your vote on Puzzle was based on bad logic. That part was never in question. Despite the fact that you no longer find it logical, I'd like to know what logic you had at the time. How did it ever occur to you that advancing the game was a scummy action?
Vote Krashbot
Awaiting your reply.
Also, to add to my uber scummy setup spec:
1 Don't claim if you're in one of those pantheons. Don't claim if you aren't
2 I forgot Hindi, they're probably here too.
3 Does anyone think we'll see the Judeo Christian God? More than one incarnation? (God, Jesus, Holy Ghost, Allah, Yahweh) This would be hilarious, but also more offensive than the inclusion of gods from other active religions. Anyone know how religious Draygn is, or how loathe to offend?
4 DYH, the point is for people who may come from different backgrounds to pitch in such that we have a better idea of what to expect, it's also a chance for anyone with non-role related setup knowledge ("You are X, you've always had a grudge against Y, but you'll put that aside," "Those Mayan gods seem weird to you but..." or that sort of thing) to speak up , either as "Well I bet Set is here" or "Hey that reminds me, my PM mentioned Qtzylquatcl" (Wow, I can't spell that at all)
I understand and remember your disdain for random voting but then, you should offer alternatives. What are yours ?
To be clear, kid, I'm going to ask you for content much more early than last time. In case you go AWOL again, I'd prefer you to be lynched due to it early rather than late.
In short, please give input as soon as possible and no filler crap like "I don't know", "it's confusing" and/or "I'll comment later". Kplsthx.
In order to help you in this delicate process, can I ask for your thoughts on me, MD and Krashbot ? There isn't much yet but you should still be able to say something about these.
I didn't say YOU guys couldn't random vote. I just prefer to sit back and watch everyone sort through the first couple pages of silly voting before I actually do anything voting-related.
I know you didn't forget about me. I didn't post because I went to bed.
My opinions?
you? I dunno...I think you're being pushy. And rather snappy at people, too. Scum, maybe? I'm not too good at picking up on things like who's scum and who's not.
Krashbot? I basically agree with his last post. [#154, for reference] When he says he feels like you're pushing the game faster than he thinks it should go....I agree.
MD, personally, I think he's somewhat annoying at times, but like I said about Krashbot, I agree with his bit about MD too.
Does that answer your question? Any other answers you'd like to demand from me?
Still no vote.

Yes.... Sympathy for the Devil Mafia... not breadcrumbing got me killed.
@Treigit: I believe I already explained my logic a couple times (and have since admited it was horrible). I just felt like Puzzle was pushing the game a little too fast, which, as far as I can tell, is somewhat of a scum tell. It may just be his style of play (which I wouldn't know), but I still felt it was a little too much. Also, what's with that voting for 2 people thing you just did?
@MD: First off, I would advise that you stop just giving up so soon. So far (unless I misscounted), you have 6 votes on you, and it takes 14 to lynch. Even if this was heading for your lynch (which is by no means for sure at this point), you still need 8 move votes on you before you get lynched (well, 9 if you unvote yourself).
Also:
Quote from MD »
For the record, I AM TOWN. And I do not lie when I role claim. When I am proven right, I will simply laugh in your face and wish the Mafia a GG.
This could easily be interpreted as scum trying to claim and get people on their side. Sure it could be legit, but I don't see anything in your last few posts that does anything con convince me that you're not scum.
How can I prove myself? Just because I made newb posts automaticly means I'm scum? What kind of Mafia host makes a complete newb scum anyways? I think D_M has more sense than that.

@ Leilani :
Your comment on me being pushy : it's true. Wanting games to go slower may feel easier/better for you but it's the best way to see them stall and die. I hate stall and like pushing things, whether I'm scum or town (you are entitled not to believe me... although you would obviously be misguided ).
In a general manner, I don't care if you are good or not at finding scums. All I'm asking from you is to try and play actively. Things like "I'm not too good at picking up on things like who's scum and who's not. " are exactly what I don't want to see because it makes me feel you don't want to participate and that makes games unfun and sometimes kills them.
- If you're town, try to find scums, even if you make mistake. I can ensure you you won't make worse than what's already been done by others (cf Azrael in Random 2).
- If you're scum, try to manipulate us so that at the end, it creates a good memory about how you fooled us or how you crapped up. Once again, trust me, you won't do worse than what's already been done (cf me in WC3).
But in any case, please participate and try to do things. Your last post is fine enough for your style, I guess. Please keep them coming and try to implicate yourself more and more. That's all I'm asking for.
I understand where you're coming from with the scum-finding ability comment....I'm a perfectionist sometimes, and being wrong makes me incredibly angry. But I'll try.
MD, you're babbling...I'd say that if you don't want to be lynched today, you start explaining why we should believe you when you say you're town. Your crack about not lying when you claim is just as absurd as if I were to say something like "The sky isn't blue, it's neon orange; and one day monkeys will eat us all".
for now:

Can't resist... scummy too powerful... must... Vote MD
(Though I would still like to hear from Krash)
Wow, where do I start? Self Voting, hinting at powerrole at less than half a lynch, Wishing the scum a GG.
The sad thing is I think there's a chance MD's telling the truth, but just so scummy that the game can't make any progress while he's (I'm making a generally fair gender assumtion here) around.
If you are town, then you should start trying to persuade us of such, preferably without claiming your role. But if you do feel the need to claim, do it out right, being vague about your role always seems scummy. Also saying you don't/won't/aren't lying doesn't help at all. On the off chance that it is true, I suggest you change this attitude before future games
Getting yourself lynched intentionally hurts the town, even if you don't care about that sort of thing, we do and Mods might.
EWP: Yay, a response from Krash. Just to clarify, you would think it scummy if anyone did any action which stated or otherwise attempted to change the game from random, non accumlating votes to attempts to find/lynch scum?
"No, I specifically heard denim. Looks like so crafty ghost is trying to break our code" -Bravo 3 "I know nothing of the law, only vengence" -Dom, U/G madness
At this point, you've dug yourself a fairly deep hole. It's quite possible that you are doomed at this point. I can think of three things that can save you. Here they are in the order that would be best for the town:
1 Evidence that someone else is scum. This is quite difficult to produce at this point, and may not save you in the long term anyway, but if there is an obviously better case, you'd live through the day. As the case against you is not particularily strong, if you live through day one and don't arrouse further suspicion, you could do alright. Here either scum needs to slip up majorly (which is more likely the longer the day lasts) or someone needs to spot something scummy that's already been said.
2 Explain why you've already done what you have. I'd suggest an analysis of each of your posts explaining why you said what you did, and/or why you don't think it's scummy.
3 Full disclosure of your role. Their are certain roles that we really don't want to lose, if you have one of these, and the town believes you, we'll atleast slow down your lynch as we rexamine the day to find a better lynch. This should be used as a last resort as it allows scum to optimize their play. However, even if your lynch is guaranteed this is generally a good idea unless you are being spiteful.
Oh, Kok, would you mind turning invisible off? I like knowing who's reading the thread.
I blame all my scummy posts due to a lack of mafia experience. And the fact that I take everything personally. Furthermore, I have a hard time determining when someone is being serious and when someone is being sarcastic. Being paranoid that everyone on MTGS hates me doesn't help either.
You guys are used to experienced players. I am brand new. I say what's on my mind and take little consideration into the deep level of mind reading required in Mafia.

It's very apparent that the vote increases are real, and it's a danger: whether he be SK, townie, mafia; regardless.
That was in reference to Azrael's ability in WD2.

This is Treigit, using MD_'s behaviour as a mechanism to condemn him, regardless of his status.
I know I brought up the point that he was playing in another game, but that was moreso to avert the "newbie" excuse he was trying to use and get some straight answers. What has ensued has been pretty chaotic, but the logic above is simply not justifiable, and frankly, I don't know how we got away with it in WD2. (Well, actually, I do, thanks Alfred for being an insufferable townie, but anyhow...) Had Treigit simply left his vote at this:
Quote from Treigit »
Wow, where do I start? Self Voting, hinting at powerrole at less than half a lynch, Wishing the scum a GG.
I'd probably be posting how he sarnathed the post I was preparing. As it stands, the added crap logic, in addition with this horrendous Pantheon plan have me pretty content with my vote.
Ah yes, some of us of course had to learn that the hard way...
Seriously though, MD, there's no real way to "prove" that you're town unless you have extra information for us. What you need to do is explain why you acted the way you did, namely with the sometimes erratic voting and unvoting of Puzzle and other people, and your defensiveness. These things are often scum tells, particularly when coming from new players, so you can understand why you're taking flack for it.
@DYH: I'm not sure I understand the symmetry between the situation with you and Azrael and with Treigit and MD.
The symmetry comes in that Azrael was taking heat for spamming up the thread and garnering a boat-load of votes by doing so. My point there was that he was a danger to the game state regardless of his alignment, which is so far from true in hindsight that it's silly.
The same holds for Treigit's statement that the game can't continue under the current conditions because of MD_'s behaviour. Also, not true.

Well, that actually depends on your version of "starting". This day 1 didn't start until Monday, 6/19. The other game's day one started on Saurday, 6/17.
I'm not voting you, am I? Why so angry?
I just don't buy the newbie defense.

Unvote because it doesn't even matter, anymore. I'm the scapegoat, now.
If the town is stupid enought to vote out someone with an ability that helps them, then I hope they lose.

Besides, if kops keeps posting like that, I'll be voting him, instead. Setting up yourself for your claim already? Got some reason you want to be telling us all who it is you are?
V/LA: 3/21-3/24 & 3/27-3/29
4 votes in twenty minutes pretty much sets a pattern up for me to be lynched in like an hour and a half. Sorry if I'm not good at Mafia

4 DYH, the point is for people who may come from different backgrounds to pitch in such that we have a better idea of what to expect, it's also a chance for anyone with non-role related setup knowledge ("You are X, you've always had a grudge against Y, but you'll put that aside," "Those Mayan gods seem weird to you but..." or that sort of thing) to speak up , either as "Well I bet Set is here" or "Hey that reminds me, my PM mentioned Qtzylquatcl" (Wow, I can't spell that at all)
I didn't say YOU guys couldn't random vote.
I know it seems that I don't care,
but something in me does I swear.

Yes.... Sympathy for the Devil Mafia... not breadcrumbing got me killed.
I just want to learn from this mistake and hopefully play a better game next time.
For the record, I AM TOWN. And I do not lie when I role claim. When I am proven right, I will simply laugh in your face and wish the Mafia a GG.

So, if you were scum you'd say so? Right. Come on now, this is just borderline ridiculous.
If you're town- start explaining why rather than pitching a self-pity fit. You do realize that dead townies can win the game too, right?

Yeah, I'm town. What about it?

@MD: First off, I would advise that you stop just giving up so soon. So far (unless I misscounted), you have 6 votes on you, and it takes 14 to lynch. Even if this was heading for your lynch (which is by no means for sure at this point), you still need 8 move votes on you before you get lynched (well, 9 if you unvote yourself).
Also:
This could easily be interpreted as scum trying to claim and get people on their side. Sure it could be legit, but I don't see anything in your last few posts that does anything con convince me that you're not scum.

How can I prove myself? Just because I made newb posts automaticly means I'm scum? What kind of Mafia host makes a complete newb scum anyways? I think D_M has more sense than that.

Your crack about not lying when you claim is just as absurd as if I were to say something like "The sky isn't blue, it's neon orange; and one day monkeys will eat us all".
for now:
fos: MD
because he hasn't really tried to convince us that he's town...he seems to just whine about it.

"I know nothing of the law, only vengence" -Dom, U/G madness
You guys are used to experienced players. I am brand new. I say what's on my mind and take little consideration into the deep level of mind reading required in Mafia.

I'd probably be posting how he sarnathed the post I was preparing. As it stands, the added crap logic, in addition with this horrendous Pantheon plan have me pretty content with my vote.
V/LA: 3/21-3/24 & 3/27-3/29
