You're right, I did structure my arguments about morphing from the perspective of town, because that's what I am.
Seriously though, I didn't think about presenting my case from a neutral perspective, but that's largely because I'm not neutral, I'm interested in the outcome of my own defense. I'm not sure it's relevant anyway, because if I was indeed scum, then any townie sounding reason I give for morphing early is made up, and I really just wanted to grab the morph away from the town.

My top three scum, in no particular order :
— Machin Shin, for his "the town is in better shape when I'm morphed" and "I morphed so that less scum would be allowed to morph" (these are not actual quotes).
I'm confused as to why you think this is scummy. Is it just a simple restatement of MMoD's arguments? Is it something else?

I think it's safe to assume that everyone can morph, and everyone gains certain powers by doing so. The question is: do we leave morphing up to those who sign in first at dawn (assuming the morphs end at daybreak), or should the town devise some kind of "license" to determine who should be able to morph on a particular day? Should one have to "apply" and receive permission to morph? And how can we justify our need to morph without giving too much information to the scum? Bascially, it comes down to this: do we leave morphing to chance, or do we want to exert some kind of control over who morphs? I'd like to hear everyone's opinion.
RandomActs mentioned something about deciding who gets to morph. OMG he's scum!!!!111one</sarcasm>
ZeDork, by that line of logic, anything anybody says can and will be interpreted as the opposite. That's kinda the idea of not trusting anybody, but it has to stop someplace. At some point you have to look at actions and voting record, not the fact that something they said could be flipped around. Now, certainly keep those in mind, because later when you have more evidence about somebody, you can get quite a bit more info from things they have said in the past, but I don't think it's safe to take anything somebody could say and twist it like that.

And another reason is what I just spent several posts explaining: If I am town, whether I have an uber ability or not, the town is better off with me morphed. Now, I suppose you can assume I'm not town, but I don't think my statement should be the basis for finding me scummy. Since it is indeed possible, albeit not in this case, for a scum to say, "Trust me, the town is benefitted" I could see using that as additional evidence, but not the basis, since by definition it's also possible for me to indeed be town saying the same thing.

Ok soory but this week is star testing at school and I am very busy, but I think I have enough time to play. I like the sign up list for morphing. I was under the impression that every role had something involving morphing. I'm not unkillable, I'm unnightkillable after I've morphed and claimed. Me showing up as scum/neutral is just a guess, based on a phrase that may be flavor saying that there are some who don't quite trust me. I don't think it's ridiculous.
Whether we believe KCW or not comes down to whether or not we believe that the mod would make a role that has an incredibly high likelihood of forcing itself to be lynched on day 1. I could see that as a possibility to balance an incredibly powerful role, but I could also see scum making this role up in a huge WIFOM gambit, knowing that if he survived he'd be essentially cleared, and if not, his scum buddies could help take him down and look better for it. I'm still undecided as to which is the case here, which is why I sorta brought up the topic of morphing to provide something else to discuss. I wasn't hoping that I would be the subject of consideration obviously, but there it is, and it seems that we have settled on leaving the morphs up for grabs at the start of the day, so at least some good has come of this.

@Ze- what it boils down to is this... Why would the scum target him and on the chance he's lying when they have a 7/8 chance of missing the doc protection among the rest of us.
My question is : How do the scum know whether kcw's claim is true or not (unless he himself is scum, of course) ? Is claiming unnightkillable enough to convince the scum that we are ?
Well, of course the scum would know if kcw is one of them or not. If he's not scum, then I would assume that he's telling the truth about his abilities. Of course, kcw may play this game differently, but the standard is for townies to always tell the truth or he held subject (if he's found to be disembling) to the standard town practice of "lynch all liars." That's why I assume (IF he's not mafia) that he's telling the truth about his abilities. And if I can make that assumption, I suppose the scum would too.

Ximbad, I'm not sure I can swallow it either. The problem is of course, that if he's telling the truth then the mafia can't get rid of him, so we shouldn't help them. At this point, I view KCW like a claimed cop or doc or something. Assuming he's still alive in a day or two, then we can maybe get back to him, especially once we have a voting record and that kind of thing to look at. I think it's too dangerous at this point to lynch him, so I'll simply keep my eye on him.

Quoted for general agreement.
And let me add this to what he said: It makes me wonder, IF he's telling the truth, what kind of power roles the scum must have to balance the level of power KCW claims to have. And what would happen to the town's chances if we mislynch him and leave those potentially powerful scum alive? So I think MS is suggesting the right approach. But the onus is on KCW to prove his worth to the town in the next day or two. I remain highly doubtful of his claim for the very reasons Ximbad has stated, but I'll give KCW a chance to prove his claim is true.
He hasn't committed himself to anyone enough to vote, has been lurking (although I am being slightly hypocritical here) and has always been on the right side of the bandwagon.

On KCW:
Well, frankly, I haven't made up my mind yet because I haven't been suspicious. Of course, I wasn't looking at you, so I'll reread later, and give my two cents on you.
After a re-read, I think ximbad has a point. I can't see any role being given a free pass to the endgame. It is HIGHLY irregular to give a power role the ability to be un-nightkillable as it tilts the scales HUGELY in favor of the town. From a game design standpoint, the role would never have made it past anyone who reviewed it.
D_M: What do you mean you can't see roles given a free pass? Kenji in the last like 3 games he's been in has been auto-confirmed town. Your own role in Douglas Adams gave you a lynch immunity among other things. Those things can all be seen as free pass to the end game.
Before anybody gets bent out of shape, I'm not saying that KCW does in fact have the role he has, or whether or not his role is more broken than these I listed. Part of the reason I'm doing that is we don't know his role, only the incomplete bit he told us. I'm still not very convinced that KCW is the play for today. I suppose if we approach a deadline and have no choice but to pick somebody, I'd look at him again, but probably not before.

See, this is exactly what I expected to happen. The mod designed it to be a scummy-sounding, unbelievable role. It's working perfectly, unfortunately for me
1. Of the games I know of that Kenji had a free pass in, I am pretty sure they had 20 players. 1 confirmed player in 20 is believable, 1 in 12 not so much.
1b. I believe part of Kenji's role was to test the gullibility of the town in DA mafia. The fact that he used it to clear himself is besides the point.
2. I had 1 instance of lynch immunity *which I had to earn during day 1*, meaning I could have been lynched day 1 if the scum had somehow known about it.
2b. Lynch immunity is WAAAAAY different than nighkill immunity. Lynch immunity can protect from townies or scum. Nightkill immunity is only really effective against scum, which is basically clearing someone and making them bullet proof at the same time.
He said that because he claimed while morphed he is un-nightkillable, but can still be targetted by "townie effects", although he *thinks* the cop might get a scum result.
So basically...
The scum would waste their time targetting you.
A vig would waste their time targetting you.
A doc would waste their time targetting you.
A cop would *probably* waste their time targetting you.
A roleblocker could target you, but then you are also a power role, do it would be a waste for a roleblocker to target you too.
Just stop me when the stench of this claim starts to overwhelm...
Should we define what we mean by "power role?" My understanding is that a power role is like a doc or cop, which can indeed be role blocked. Are there other definitions at work here?

1. How am I cleared? The fact that you're considering lynching me shows I'm definately not cleared; in fact, my role makes me seem scummy on purpose, as I have said many times before, which is the exact opposite of clearing me.
2b. It would only be clearing me if it came from the Word of Mod, which it didn't. A scum isn't going to come out day 2 and say "hey, we tried to target kcw but it didn't work! He's a townie guys!"
As I have said over and over and over, the role is SUPPOSED to sound unbelievable and scummy. Or do you want to lynch an otherwise unkillable townie with a good ability ASAP?
I really think that a unnightkillable power role is really unlikily in a mini. Maybe in something Az would think of in his next specialty, but no way here. I just really find KCW very scummy and without seeing any better targets Vote : KCW.

Alfred's plan isn't scummy at all. He didn't realize that scum couldn't morph, so it shows he's town in a very WIFOM way.
MS's quotes make sense to me, so he isn't scummy IMO.

Feel free to give evidence or explanation. Or just continue to bandwagon me, that's cool too.

You role invovles you morphing, claiming, being unkillable, showing up as scum/neutral to investigations, and being a power role? Hahahahaha. Am I wrong or is your claim that ridiculous? Need more of an explanation?
Anyway yeah, that is kinda suspicious

I was under the impression that every role had something involving morphing. I'm not unkillable, I'm unnightkillable after I've morphed and claimed. Me showing up as scum/neutral is just a guess, based on a phrase that may be flavor saying that there are some who don't quite trust me. I don't think it's ridiculous.
2 That's nit picking
3 Good luck with that one, I'd put money on the cop not finding you town.
4 The whole role seems focused on getting you lynched, I don't buy it. Vote stands
FOR: DA for barning me.
Okay. Cop, investigate me then.
As to your last point... you say the role is focused on me getting lynched. So you try to lynch me.
Sure, investigate, but let's not out the cop anytime soon.
I don't belive that your role would be in the game. That is almost my whole reason for voting. Vote stands.

So some anaysis:

but the jist of it is that if I morph and claim, I can't be nightkilled, but I can still be targeted by normal role stuff.

It looks to me like MMoD purposely made it seem like KCW was vanilla so that it would pry more information out of him. The dragyn mage post he was referring to when he mentioned someone else saying he was vanilla unkillable:
http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showpost.php?p=1024817&postcount=85
Talked about roleblocking making him vanilla. Was this just a mistake?
They are my notes. I felt that I need to share them since of my long abtance.
I think we should focus on the people who morphed. Since I have a really good felling that at least one is scum.
I think that we are missing something (including myself) here in the WIFOM about KCW's morph.
Okay... no. I was under the impression at that time that he meant he was a powerrole -because- he was unkillable, and hence why I was fishing. I said all of this before.
If Singleton: MMoD
If Deux: Diggy
If Thirce: Paranoid
My question(s): Why did you morph and what is the ablity that you have?
More to come when if find out the roll
Vote magicianofthought for fishing. A townie has no business asking either of those questions. They morphed because it helps whatever side they're on, and if they tell you their abilities then they deserve whatever they get.
Holky crap man. Unvote, vote magicianofthought.

This is only my 2nd game on this site. I don't know MoT's level of exposure to the game. It's hard for me to imagine a player with some experience or skill asking about abilities like that. At the very least he needs to explain himself.
(And the die role was way out of line as well. This is a game of reasoning, not of random chance, despite what my names says.)
First non-confirmist post: Generally ok w. KCW.
2nd post: decides that Machin Shin is suspicious (after MMoD and I have said so), but does not vote.
3rd post: is against RandomActs signup "cunning plan."
4th post: Decides to agree with Ximbad and says that KCW is suspicious, but does not vote.
5th post: Revocalizes his suspicions of KCW.
He hasn't committed himself to anyone enough to vote, has been lurking (although I am being slightly hypocritical here) and has always been on the right side of the bandwagon.
unvote, vote Agentdark

Well, frankly, I haven't made up my mind yet because I haven't been suspicious. Of course, I wasn't looking at you, so I'll reread later, and give my two cents on you.
