well that game was great, one of the few that kept my attention after I was lynched. What I want to know is why did no one believe my claim? that really got me frustrated when I saw I was dead, I was lynched while at schoolm but whatever. And great job to axel his play was quite good at the endgame.
The reason I held back on my claim was to try to catch a Mafia false claiming doc, which worked well...until you killed me...
Oh and do you really think we would be Doc-less?
Holding back your claim was the right play, no doubt.
I just never expected the mafia to walk into that kind of trap of their own free will.
And sometimes, devious hosts do delete the doc from the game. And occasionally, it can even prove to be an advantage. If the doc's body never shows up, then the mafia have to tiptoe around who they target, in theory. I've played in games like that before.
And with the numbers of other confirmed townies we had, like Kenji and Sorryguy, I thought your claim, strong as it would be under normal circumstances, was relatively weak compared to Kenji's role. On its own, it was still stronger than Axelrod's, but the situation with Hawkeye tipped the balance in my mind.
Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, the wisdom to know the difference, and a ****ing chainsaw.
Oh, by the way, if you guys don't speed-lynch me, and I explain my results, and Axel probably gets lynched over Az. *grin*

Man I was watching that whole last day and not once did anyone mention the night I died. It showed that hawkeye couldn't have been the zombification killer, because I had choosen to change his target, and been killed. I understand that I was privilaged to have access to the truth, and that Hawkeye could have lied, but it should have come up at least once. Had I not been killed that night, I had Hawkeye anyway because of his list - he claimed he protected axelrod on the night chamber was killed. I suppose I actually should have mentioned that previously, instead of just dropping hints (by asking him to repeat his list) though.....
well you see if axel didnt have a night ability then my watching wouldof been correct, and since I think I claimed first it adds a little realness to the claim.
Edit: messed up a few tags
Yeah, it added to your claim, but once you were dead, the town should have realized that Axel was scum since you had info on him you couldn't have otherwise had.
Enigma: No one believed your claim because you were claiming the second vanilla. Also, for you to be town, at least one of our fairly confirmed townies wouldve had to be town (it turned out to be axel). I still think that lynching you was the right play there.
EDIT: And when I say that it was the right play, I mean that I didnt regret it even after finding out u were a townie. If we didnt lynch you then we would've had to do it later.
As for Ikerr, I strongly doubted that we had another vanilla townie in the game, a supposition that proved to be correct. Lying to the town about your abilities in the end-game is a very dangerous move, and I was betting that the mafia was far more likely than a townie to do it. Usually that's the case.
That is true, about the vanilla role. Maybe I'd just been influenced by being vanilla for the first 4 days. Mostly, I've just been waiting to vent because since all I had to do was survive the vig and I was in a good position to win with the town. Besides, just by raw numbers, I have an unwaivering 25% by the setup, while a random shot of the other 6 (since you knew you were clear and Homer was clear) yeilded at least 50%.
@Enigma - It was mostly just your reluctance to defend yourself that made me vote for you. You jsut kind of seemed resigned to your fate. In retrospect, I really should have pushed for CPE to go first, since I was even more sure of him, but I took the easy way out. And it got me killed, so yeah.
That really threw me off.
so, willingly walking into the trap actually paid off. Sometimes doing the least likely thing works out.
We actually did have the claim worked out early on as a possible tactic and at the end I was enamored with the idea of claiming Dr. Dracula and trying to make a convincing case of it. Afterwards, it occured to me that it might be a better idea to claim back up doc instead of doc. I'm not sure how that would have played out. I would have had to not challenge Jobie since I would have had to play it as if I had known there was a good chance he was telling the truth. Oh Well. It took a coin flip to get me so I am happy with the performance.
I whole heartedly agree with Axerod as MAFIA MVP!
Very Well Done!

LOL, ha, man, I'm glad you didn't bring it up.
I saw your hint and racked my brain for many hours trying to figure out where I had messed up and couldn't fiure it out. I just had to keep going and hope if you brought it up it would be something I could explain away.

RELAPSED MAFIA JUNKIE
W – 33, L – 19, Broke Games - 9
Calvin & Hobbs Mafia, Mafia MVP
X-Men Mafia Town MVP
Simpson's Mafia - best use of character
Mtgnews Mafia Mafia - Town Madman
Mythos Mafia: the Dunwich Massacre Town MVP
English Literature Mafia Town MVP
Best Role-Playing Sin City Mafia
Werewolf Mafia - Mafia MVP
Doctor Mafia - Mafia MVP
Mafia: Escape from the Cylons - Town MVP
Lost Mafia - Co SK Winner with Kops
Random Mafia 3 - Town MVP
So this is the nightmare that was the Mafia's first few days (remember, this is strictly from our our perspective, without knowledge of everything else that was going on):
Night 1:
-We kill the one person in the whole game we don't need to kill, who could have been, for all intents and purposes, our 5th mafia.
-We choose to role-block the town roleblocker, net result = void
-The SK helpfully kills no one for us.
Day 1:
-We accomplish nothing significant beyond finally getting a townie lynched, but several of us have to over-extend to do it.
Night 2:
-We skip our Night kill to try and recruit Az. It fails. Whoopie. We don't even realize at the time that we don't get another chance to try and recruit someone else later.
-We role-block sgdre to try and foil his ability to clear himself. This plan also will fail miserably.
-The SK does kill--a vanilla townie.
Day 2:
-We lynch the SK. Bad from a mafia point of view. No more help from him.
-Fayul declares I'm scum. Wonderful.
Night 3:
-We kill Draygn_mage for reasons I can't remember. I "think" it was to prevent him from confirming sgdre's claim of being role-blocked.
-We role-block sgdre again.
-Of course, Draygn_mage turns up as the town Roleblocker, and with the similar MO's, sgdre reasonably assumes DM was blocking him, which we can't exactly dispute, except to say it would make no sense. So the frame-up fails.
Day 3:
-Fayul declares Puzzle is scum. Even better.
-Chamber confirms Puzzle is scum. Puzzle is a complete goner at this point, and I'm certain I'm next. I have no idea what kind of ability Fayul has to be able to be figuring these things out.
Night 4:
-We want to recruit Chamber. We are told we don't get another chance to recruit. So we have to burn up our extra kill to make sure he dies.
-I am dreading Fayul is going to finger another mafia at the start of the day.
Things go better from that point out. And looking at the other town actions, it's evident we were getting very lucky from Day one anyway.
-Chamber Investigated Hawkeye day 1, but got blocked (so it turned out to be good that role-blockers can't block each other.)
Of course, at the end I was the beneficiary of the greatest piece of luck. What Azrael speculated about me Double-killing Jobie with him was almost true. Jobie was my first choice. I really didn't think Az was going to vig. him, so I thought I ought to get the last person who could stop me from killing. I quickly realized, however, that this would be a death sentence for me, because my kills were so distinctive. With Az (who could not be the zombie killer), Kenji, SorryGuy and me--and another Zombie death--I lose quickly.
So I decided to go for Kenji, and take my chances on getting Jobie lynched the next day. Az, at least, appeared receptive to that argument.
But Az. did kill Jobie, and Jobie prevented my kill of Kenji, meaning the perfect situation just fell into my lap. I had all these perfectly correct arguments I could make, while others struggled with who the mafia recruit could be.
Just goes to show.

Ambush Krotiq makes me laugh so much. I keep rereading the card and it keeps not having Flash. In what sense is this an ambush again? I just have visions of this huge Krotiq poorly concealed in some bushes, feeling slightly sad that his carefully planned ambushes never seem to work.
So just to confirm I was nightkilled for casting suspicion on hawkeye?
Also, just because I have to say it somewhere, why did you all have to go and get in two games? The people in Clan Mafia right now are about to make me look expirenced with a few exceptions...
- The mafia was too strong. With a potential 6.5 members with up to 6 with abilities, it could have easily swept the town. Fortunately 2.5 of those members were eliminated (CC copied a pro-town role, CP died night 1, the recruit failed). I probably should have changed CC's role to copying the role for 1 night, but I was in a game that had that exact role for Kirby when I made this one. That would have left the mafia at 5.5 members, which is fair.
- WoLG's role could have extended the 50/50 part to when he was bodyguarding without it being rediculous. I actually intended the bodyguard ability to be a drawback to the role, which is sorta wrong.
BTW, thanks to Bill King for telling me not to run MTG Mafia on this site (and thus leading me to make this game). That would have been a disaster. Instead I ran it as a mini on Mafiascum, and it still sorta is a disaster.....
