BS is either NE or LN, so I will Vote Blinking Spirit with BK and go with that.
There are nine alignments and twelve of us; hence, there must be doubling up. I could very well be NG or CN. Actually, you account for this yourself, as swinkee is confirmed LN, so what do you mean here?
Musashi, don't believe everything BK said in that post you quoted. He seems to have come across this idea of "reverse mafia" and stuck with it, despite the fact that it's really a different animal entirely. There is no "townie" and no "scum." Claims of night kill abilities only help you if you have reason to believe the night killer's goals are in agreement with your own. Similarly, doctors are good to have around, if the doctor's goals are similar or identical to yours. And finally, alignment claims are not good, no matter what your ability, because you will be painting a target on your forehead for members of the opposite alignment.
BK is probably telling the truth, guys; the only alternative I can see for his behavior would be that he could detect alignment, detected mine last night, and turned on me based on that. I won't go into any detail but I can assure you this latter scenario is not the case. The reason for my doubt was some bizarre happenings in the flavor text of help's PMs to me; the suggestion spell (actually, let's face it, it's the bardic music ability) could account for them, I guess, but they're still a little peculiar. Oh well. I have one question for Crippled Fist: did you do anything last night?
Pibbly, the spell description itself's probably from the SRD. If you don't play D&D, it might be helpful to check out; it's basically a bleached version of the rules online.
Anyway, I suppose it's finally time to vote billking. His overagressiveness and twisted logic have gone on long enough. Let cooler heads prevail.

It is a great game, if you just give it a chance instead of trying to bend what's happening to your conception of what a mafia game should be. I have some complaints about the night ability PMs - could you be a little clearer next time, help? - but the setup is intriguing.
Finally, there is a disincentive to vote you. If I am CG, CN, CE, or even NG or NE, my vote is probably better spent somewhere else. However, in your case I'd make an exception, as you're dangerous to everyone with your "let's kill everybody!" attitude.

I was talking about PMs regarding my night ability, not my role PM, which was blessedly clear (clearer than BK's apparently). My night ability's PMs were wrapped in flavor, which at first didn't seem to make any sense considering what BK had claimed. I do, however, now believe he's telling the truth (though the PM is still a little odd), so this is not a case of "Lynch All Liars," but rather of "Lynch The Most Misguided" (I don't think that's a typical mafia-game strategy, but...).

In that case, billking is lying. I'm not sure why, but he is.
In case you haven't figured it out yet, O reader, my ability shows whom my target targeted. I got a negative response last night, though it took some clarification to determine that it was negative. I initially targeted BK himself. If he redirected me to Crippled Fist, I would have seen Crippled Fist's target. So he could have redirected me to someone else, who didn't do anything (he's a liar), or he could have used an ability that doesn't have a target (bigger liar), or done nothing at all (even big- no, actually about the same size liar as the last).
EDIT while previewing: Or there was a roleblock. Man, I hate those! If anyone used a roleblock ability on me or (more likely) BK, and they don't want to see BK dead (it's a stretch, I'll admit), could they please come out and explain the flavor of what you did to my satisfaction?
Yes, considering what happened, I think BK got roleblocked.

I've already told these people exactly why it wouldn't be in their best interest to protect me. They'd be idiots to claim that they caused a roleblock.
By the way, I'm not lying, sir. I see where they're a misunderstanding. I even see how there's a possibility that I could be wrong. But being wrong isn't the same thing as lying.
What's more likely going on is:
- I'm telling the truth and I am on an intellectual level difficult to comprehend
- You're telling the truth but you're noobing it up
- You accuse me of lying because you don't understand me
Not that this really matters. In a game like this, the most logical place to put your votes is always on the largest bandwagon. I'm pretty sure that's me at the moment. What are you guys waiting for? Kill me already!

Patiently sitting back and waiting, right niow leaning more towards Blinking Spirit but im not toally sure yet. The evidence just isnt there for me to say one or the other thats going to help me the best. Ill go back and re-read the thread thu far and see if i can come up with something... Expect my vote later tonight. [After Work]
Billking, that attitude is incomprehensible. It doesn't benefit you at all to get lynched, so why are you supporting it? Also, there are others who would really prefer that you not be lynched. Why are you giving up?
Pibbly, I don't understand why you're voting BK. There are more lawfuls dead at the moment than chaotics, and your win conditions is not helped by keeping them even.
Blinking Spirit, you aren't CN or NG. I am 90% sure of that. Therefore, you are either LN or NE since you are partially neutral. It has nothing to do with doubling up. Either way, I further a win condition, so my vote stays. What BK says about the best lynch being the biggest bandwagon is not true. Only Lawfuls would prefer that he die, since those of neutral alignment would rather that another lawful die than a chaotic. That's only three people. Billking is a bad lynch for most people still in the game, even if he does have a bad attitude.
What?! Look at the initial post; he is dead. Deceased. Kaputt. Indefinitely horizontal. In mafia games, you see, people are occasionally "killed off," and when that sad event occurs, he or she is no longer allowed to post, on account of rigor mortis and what-have-you.
'Welcome to Mafia Salvation', it said, 'Population: 3,660.' And someone, they never figured out who, had painted on the sign in red letters: '1,831 to lynch.'
Carrion: I dont really care what happens to the Lawfuls and the Chaotics. I really dont. There are no lawful people around, that i see, so im targeting him. Plus, i dont like the way he is acting in this thread, better to be away with him.... Also, why are there SO many lurkers in this game...Please step up and start posting.

Has the possibility that you're wrong never crossed your mind? Or is your ego just too big? Listen to yourself, man!
I mitigated my accusation of lying in my preview-edit; I now believe you are telling the truth about your ability (though, given that you were apparently roleblocked, you put far too much trust in it). Let me make it clear to the other players:
Billking is not a liar.
Billking is, however, a loose cannon who would see you dead as soon as look at you. His logic this game has been completely faulty, latching onto the idea that this is a "reverse mafia" where the killers are the good guys, despite numerous arguments that it is nothing of the sort. To boot, his ability can render your own untrustworthy, especially given his random usage thereof. Investigator? Your information is next to useless. Doctor? You can't even protect yourself. Killer? You might be forced to shoot an ally over some of the juicy targets who have begun to spring up.

I'm supporting it because it's in everyone else's best interest. I don't post to promote the action that benefits me, I post to state honestly what I believe the best move for the town is.
I'm not exactly giving up. Granted, whoever ressurects people might only be able to ressurect nightkills, and he might hate my guts. That's cool. But yeah, I have strongly considered giving up. I have some big complaints about the design of this game.
Spock is not portrayed correctly. If Vulcans are above petty emotions, what motivates him to join the most elite starship crew in the galaxy? I know for a fact that you aren't NG because I am, and there's no way that there are three of the same alignment in this game be cause it would be hugely unbalanced. I know you aren't CN because otherwise you wouldn't be trying to lose the game by attacking BK, who shares that alignment, plus your ability is not a chaotic ability. I doubt that you're evil, either, given your ability, so I believe that you are LN, making you a secondary enemy who is already prime for removal due to the loss of the other person who shares that alignment. If you are, for some reason, evil, then even better. I know you aren't good at all, so I have no reason to regret your death.
What?! Look at the initial post; he is dead. Deceased. Kaputt. Indefinitely horizontal. In mafia games, you see, people are occasionally "killed off," and when that sad event occurs, he or she is no longer allowed to post, on account of rigor mortis and what-have-you.

How is my ability "not a chaotic ability?" Or an evil one? You don't even know the flavor behind it! And I've said repeatedly that billking is dangerous to everyone.
If you persist, let's talk abilities. I am an information source; I can be useful to everyone. BK's ability, on the other hand, makes everyone's own abilities a liability. If you are indeed NG, you're right; I'm a potential enemy. So is BK. But I'm also a potential ally. Do you really want to team up with BK? I urge you, both of you, to reconsider.

You see, that is the fundamental problem with this game: those who start to lose actually are worse off. There is increasingly little benefit to keeping lawfuls around the more of them that die, or any other alignment. I had almost written this game off as a loss when Pibbly died, since Good wouldn't have had the power of a voting bloc that, say Evil does. Lawfuls at this point are either going to die, or else the resurrector is going to try to bring them back (I assume that he's LG) and non-lawful people will eventually give up until they find the resurrector and manage to kill him off. Either way, we as non-lawfuls have little reason not to want you as our lynch target for the day. It is possible that you and swinkee could eventually be revived, and if so, you can bet you wouldn't be targetted by a lynch again, just due to it being futile. If that happened, then we would be in a totally different situation and it might be worthwhile to try to go for a LG party, but right now, as Goods, our best bet is to try for a CG party. I realize this gives Chaotic players a huge advantage, but what can you say, the only dead person at the moment only furthers the primary win condition of Chaotics, it isn't our fault. I didn't vote for swinkee, and neither did Pibbly. Sure, I'd rather go after an evil character (which, as you say, you could still be be) but I would not choose a Chaotic character to lynch because the faster Goods end the game, the better off they'll be. If anyone wants to start a bandwagon on Alpha, who looks to have a better chance of being evil than anyone, due to BK's tricks two nights ago, I'll jump on that happily. I don't plan on moving my vote anywhere else, though.

All right; I see no reason not to put Alpha over the coals for a little while. We already know everything we need to about BK, I can always move my vote back to him, and this game's way too centered around him, myself, and the dead/ex-dead characters. We need more information, and fewer lurkers. Unvote billking (you forgot to do this, Pibbly). Vote AlphaInsidious.
Actually, come to think of it, Alpha's less lurky than some; want to put pressure on Keoinn (who hasn't posted at all, except to confirm), Hawkeye, or NavyJoe instead? FOS Keoinn, Hawkeye, and NavyJoe for now; post, guys!
And BK, if we both survive today, don't redirect me tonight; I'm useless to anyone that way, where I can be useful to everyone if I can gather trustworthy information.

Do we know ANYTHING about Keoinn? Has he even posted in the thread? Considering how much even one death changes peoples alliances, it seems counterproductive to vote for him without knowing anything about his alignment.
Then again, it's almost a fait accompli that he'd be lynched once he claimed (unless he's chaotic), in any case. I'm abstaining from this one until he claims.

Most likely investigator (IMO): The paladin, LG. If this is true, that would make the rezzer NG or CG, most likely NG (i.e. carrion pigeons). CG? I'm thinking an elven ranger or wizard, maybe a halfling rogue. The ranger could have some sort of sniping ability (i.e. a kill) or tracking (i.e. target tracking, like me). The halfling could also shadow people (more target tracking), pick their pockets (ability hint), or (I doubt this one) backstab for a kill. Who knows what the wizard does - evocation, abjuration, divination, it's all there.
Just tossing out ideas here.

Presumably because he called him an inspector. He very well could have just been sarcastic, though. Alpha never confirmed that he was the "vig." In fact, he said he wasn't. What BK did the first day, though, would seem to contradict this this, and since it isn't too likely that 3 people targetted Pibbly, I believe that Alpha is in fact a killer, which almost certainly makes him evil. I don't know anything about the chaotic side.
Musashi baited Alpha into thinking he had some other way of knowing his alignment, however, Alpha responded with a very sarcastically about him being an inspector, which could mean anything or nothing. Then, Musashi claimed not to be the cop. Whether either side is telling the truth, I have no idea, but BK's ability has suggested that Alpha is a killer, which is good enough for me.

I think you may be onto something about the more powerful roles having two descriptors. Compared to a vig, my own role isn't that strong, nor, it would seem, is BK's (though I argue that in the right hands it's the most powerful ability of all). Other confessed neutrals: can you confirm that your abilities are relatively weak as well?
I'll also agree that while good characters certainly do enough bashing in of heads, it's more likely to be evil. However, I'll disagree with your law/chaos assessment; while my first thought was "half-orc barbarian," I could also see such an attack from a LE fighter or blackguard, especially if the flavor went deep enough to specify the role's devotion to Hextor (flail-armed tyrant god, for those who don't know).
carrion pigeons also raises the point that Alpha hasn't really confirmed anything. I realize that those who hope for him to come out and say "I'm CE!" will hope in vain, but what he has said could be taken any which way.
Nevertheless, in my assessment Alpha has better odds of being evil than the rest of you at the moment, so, given the speed at which this game is going, I'm willing to try lynching him.
However, before getting around to that I must turn my attention to the other lurkers. Vote NavyJoe, with the understanding that once he's started posting, barring further developments, I will move my vote back to Alpha.

I have no real complaints about my ability, but it is not by any means an overpowered one.
The problem with lurkervoting is that it never has the desired effect unless a full-scale bandwagon starts rolling, which requires such a huge change in momentum that it's almost never worth it unless there's actually something suspicious going on with them anyway. Given that NavyJoe is not active in his other game here either, I really think we should focus on things that will move the day forward. I don't mind taking detours for things that expressly benefit the town, but lurkervoting helps mafia as much as the town, especially when it derails an already active bandwagon. Let's not make the day last longer than it absolutely has to, please?

The problem with lurkervoting is that it never has the desired effect unless a full-scale bandwagon starts rolling, which requires such a huge change in momentum that it's almost never worth it unless there's actually something suspicious going on with them anyway. Given that NavyJoe is not active in his other game here either, I really think we should focus on things that will move the day forward. I don't mind taking detours for things that expressly benefit the town, but lurkervoting helps mafia as much as the town, especially when it derails an already active bandwagon. Let's not make the day last longer than it absolutely has to, please?
I disagree. In this game especially, where there is no set mafia and town, lurkers are incredibly dangerous. They can get information as to their targets; essentially, those who have given away their alignment have said to a certain segment of players "I am mafia." It's true, to another segment they've said "I am an ally/potential ally," which is why I don't think it's a suicidal or even a particularly bad play (in the right circumstances), but the fact remains that those who volunteer information, and even those who comment on volunteered information, are at a disadvantage to those who do neither.
How can we who want to actually play the game compensate? By lurkervoting, and by organizing with each other to lurkervote. By doing this we either bring the lurker into the game, where we can view and analyze each others' moves equally, and find allies and targets; or lynch him, which gets rid of a player who was a potential threat to all of us by virtue of his reticence.
We know, or at least have an inkling of, the threat that Alpha poses, and each of us knows whether Alpha is a threat to us or to our enemies. But e have no idea what threat Keoinn (soon to be someone else, I wager) or NavyJoe poses; we do not know whether he is an enemy or ally, but he knows of us who his enemies and allies are. In principle, tonight or tomorrow he could act against any of us; therefore right now he is a threat to all of us.
The vote stands.

I do, however, now believe he's telling the truth (though the PM is still a little odd), so this is not a case of "Lynch All Liars," but rather of "Lynch The Most Misguided" (I don't think that's a typical mafia-game strategy, but...).
candidus inperti; si nil, his utere mecum.
All right, did you target anyone?
candidus inperti; si nil, his utere mecum.

How can you be so sure? You an investigator of some kind? If not, I suggest you keep an open mind.

I'm not exactly giving up. Granted, whoever ressurects people might only be able to ressurect nightkills, and he might hate my guts. That's cool. But yeah, I have strongly considered giving up. I have some big complaints about the design of this game.

That makes the game more undeterminable by characters not talking at all, so let's all get them talking as Blinking Spirit said.

Six to lynch. Ha, billking! I say again, HA!
@Musashi - Evidence? Or are you an investigator?

Ya, I figuered if alpha was the "vig" he would have two descriptors. Bashing heads in dosn't sound very good nor does it seem lawful. That's all for now.
Mafia MVP BM Mafia
Mafia MVP Matrix Mafia
