We seem to be going around in circles here. With nothing happening, and no one seeming to slip up. Although some people are acting suspecious, no one here has done enough to justify lynching them. The only good thing about today, is that we have gotten some ok leads for the COP(s) and the DOC(S)
Although i really hate to waiste a lynch, i propose that we think about a no lynch today. We are pretty much gonig to lynch a Townie unless we get lucky or someone does something stupid. It is something to think about, until we get more information.

Today on Battlestar: We find out DNA testing is not possible during the day. Well, that was a big fuss over nothing. Back to the drawing board.
In other news, Urban Druid makes yet another post I don't like. I mean, I'm certainly not voting yet. No hurry here... so, please, stop acting like you're in one.
By the way, very funny picture Jon.
In what way did I post something you don't like...I'd like to rectify that with a proper reiteration of whatever it is I said... maybe I wasn't wording what I was saying clearly enough? I'm not in a hurry either...
It is said, Pibbly, by wiser players than myself, that "No Lynch" is never a good idea for the town. I don't know that I would go quite that far. There may be situations where it could be appropriate. But certainly not day 1. And not just because you don't have a strong vibe from anyone. Chances are that you won't get a strong vibe day 1. But you build a record which can be analyzed in the days to come. No lynch leaves no record.
That said, I don't have a strong vibe from anyone at this point either, so:
semi-random vote: AlphaInsidious
This is more in the way of a lurker vote than anything else, though he's not really lurking. He's just not saying all that much when he posts. Not ruffling anyone's feathers, so to speak. Which is one way to play if you are Mafia, and therefore slightly suspicious.

Ambush Krotiq makes me laugh so much. I keep rereading the card and it keeps not having Flash. In what sense is this an ambush again? I just have visions of this huge Krotiq poorly concealed in some bushes, feeling slightly sad that his carefully planned ambushes never seem to work.
I think it would be neat to have actions reveal small parts of a plot.
Example:
While NavyJoe was reading the days message traffic, he notices a story of a missing Corporal from Earth.
While this information is a bit easy to say ok, so a corporal is a bad guy, figure out which. I think it would be good for the game. Just have subtle hints.
As for voting, I believed I jumped the gun on Puzzle, so I will wait until more is revealed.
Okay, I think we're all wasting too much time focusing on actions. It seems apparent that very few actions will actually be productive, so let's try to avoid sidetracking ourselves unless it's a serious suggestion. And giving everyone access to the Cylon DNA in the hope that someone can use it to identify mafia is NOT a realistic suggestion for a game that didn't start with actions. I think it's clear that the person who ALREADY has the sample has it for a reason.
I agree that No Lynch is bad right now, especially if we have a possibly valid theory in the distribution of mafia among ranks. We stand to gain much information from lynching today, and I think the voting patterns today will be especially telling for several reasons. We already have a few votes piled on Druid (not without reason, of course), but it might be good to take a look at the later voters - in this case, help im a bug and armlx. It's also interesting enough that each of the votes on Druid is from a different "group" (one from the midrank, one from the Specialists, and one from the PFCs). This is not unlikely, but perhaps it indicates a block voting together.
A question about Cylons: Can they imitate particular people? Or can they just imitate a general human? I'm asking because I wonder if the information Druid and Joe got is actually reliable. If Cylons can become imposters, perhaps it's only a false Mason group. In my experience, Masons are rather strong in a game this size, as it provides a very solid early claim. It's also generally bad play for two scum to claim Mason, so I don't think they're both mafia, but it would be an interesting twist for a mod to have "faulty" Masons. Druid has given me the impression of a rather maverick player, which makes me wonder.
NavyJoe, I'd like you to verify Druid's claim by telling us what your PM says so we can compare it to his.
So assuming that Cylons can't impersonate, you two are fairly clear then (unless of course one of you turns out to be scum). Is that all your role mentions about that connection? I assume the length of time is meant to indicate that you knew each other before the Cylons returned?
In that case, I'm going to FOS Crippled_Fist and armlx. Not that they've done anything suspicious, really - just that if one of the Specialists is scum, and Druid is clean, then we've got a 50/50 shot with these two.
So no masons. Well, at least, if other of them is scum we know that the other one is scum too. I just don't think the Cylons would reveal information like this so they're probably townies. They could still have some alternative win condition, like "If you and XXX are in the final four" or something. Just a possibility though.
This is more in the way of a lurker vote than anything else, though he's not really lurking. He's just not saying all that much when he posts. Not ruffling anyone's feathers, so to speak. Which is one way to play if you are Mafia, and therefore slightly suspicious.

However, I do feel pretty good about druid and joe now...they seem decent enough. I'm going to hold off my vote for a bit, to see how everything plays out, but I have my suspicions.

Yes, we know that they're not ALL Masons. But you three are Specialists, and Druid claims that he and NavyJoe are Masons. Because I am inclined to believe that claim at this point, that leaves you two.
Obviously, you say that we should lynch the one that's not you, but that doesn't really help us. Your voting hasn't really inspired my confidence, though, since you've jumped on both the Druid vote and the Alpha vote.
I see your point FB. I tend to jump on votes to get info. The Insidious one I have no explaination for other than spur of the moment actions, but the Druid thing was really bad. Personnally, actions do nothing. I followed SS Mafia, and the most they did was get someone role blocked for 2 days. Pushing for an action seemed like a good distraction for the mafia to use just to redirect ideas from finding them.
You also forgot me jumping on the vote for you. Same thing as Insidious: stupid decisions that were spur of the moment. But when votes can be retracted, the pressure they apply can sometimes be good.
Also, some one has disabled us from seeing who they are when reading this thread. I know its not me, Druid, Crippled-Fist, Puzzle, or Joe (I've seen us all on), so that leaves BK and FB as they were the last ones on. I am inclined to think BK as he pulled something like this in WC3 Mafia with him saying he was "out of town" then deleting his cookies. Going to bed at 4:35 on a weekday seems really strange to me. FB: Can you see the last time the person was on in invisi-mode on their public profile?
When the 5 people possibly in invisi-mode were last on (EST, March 17) and when they last posted on this thread
Azrael- 3:42 AM (Same time)
Pibbly- 3:18 PM (12:37 about no lynch)
Help Im a Bug- 3:45 PM (Dunno)
Billking- 4:53 PM (Posted at 4:53 PM, then "went to bed")
Axelrod- 5:09 PM (Posted 3:50 PM w/ lurker vote)
I saw Dusk on the forum, so he's not in invisi-mode.
If they can't be seen in their public profile if they are in invisi-mode, then Pibbly, and Bug are the suspects as they have been off the longest (Azrael has probably been off all day, so thats excusable). No, I don't have the ability to see when people were using invisible mode. And even if I could, it would be rather unfair to use outside information like that.
I also don't think it's necessarily a good idea to persecute people based on the *possibility* of them using invis mode. Some people aren't always logged on when they come to the site (for example, on public computers or at work), and I have also seen users reading Mafia threads even if they're not playing in the game. Just a note of caution before we try to use this as "evidence" against someone.
Armix, with all respect, that is one of the weakest bits of "evidence" I have ever heard of. In fact, it's so weak, it borders on stupid.
Also, my understanding is when someone is in "invisi-mode" their public profile still shows that they are online and what they are doing. Therefore, if you were "observing" this invisi-player at 5:57 p.m. (e.s.t. when you made you post about it), it couldn't have been any of the people you listed.
Looking for lurkers is a valid practice which I have utilized myself in the past. Usually, however, there is a reason for the lurking, which then makes the behavior suspicious. When someone is under pressure, they come online, but they doesn't post, that can be suspicious. Similarly, when a bandwagon is forming on someone, and a person not on the wagon goes online, observes, but goes off without saying anything. That can be suspicious. What exactly are you thinking here? There is no reason for lurking. No one is lurking. There is nothing here to be suspicious of.
People other than players do read the thread you know.

And yes, some of my post do seem out of line with the rest of them, but thats mostly do to the fact that how and what I write are variably dependant with my current emotional standpoint. To clear things up... take all of my posts with a grain of salt and don't try to overanalyze whatever I say... its probably just me rambling on.
I'd also like to pose a question to armlx, why do you consider me a "lead" as opposed to FOSing me? I'm I some sort of clue?
Yeah, I'm currently on spring break for the next week or so at my dad's, which means I only have access to a computer after about 10:00 to 12:00 EST. And since so far I haven't really noticed anything earth-shattering, I don't have anything to contribute at this point. This is just after skimming through the thread rapidly, however. Later on, if I get the chance I'll want to go through and check it in more detail, and see if anything turns up.
So far though, it's difficult to come up with anything concrete from this giant mass of mostly inconclusive debate.

Here are my opinions. I want to point out that my opinions are probably not actionable at this time. I'm not starting a bandwagon here, I'm just discussing.
Finger of Suspicion: armlx. Trying to start a bandwagon against some of the best posters (I'm talking about Azrael here, not myself) and then saying "we have nothing better to do Day 1" is quite shady. Your commitment to the plan, even after Axel had utterly defeated it, implies that you desperately wanted to see it work, and therefore that you don't think Day 1 is pointless at all, but instead that you desperately wanted those players to die. If you're a Human, your play was extraordinarily aggressive (even by my standards) with inexcusably weak logic. I feel very close to a vote here, but I want to hear more from other people first.
Finger of Suspicion: Urban Druid. I still think the call to have us all "play loose" and stop playing strictly to our roles was an attempt to incite mass stupidity. I might give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you were trying to incite mass stupidity among the Cylons, so that they'd do something dumb and get caught; for this reason, your FOS is significantly weaker than armlx's. Nevertheless, I wouldn't go around encouraging bad play, because if you encourage tight play then poor play is a fairly good indicator of scumminess, while if you encourage loose play it becomes worse and worse of an indicator, and we'll end up lynching more townies that way. I think. Actually that last part is just sort of a guess as to how it would work.
I also am ever-so-slightly paranoid of Puzzle because of his DNA-sampling proposition earlier. If I trusted someone, I would have no trouble giving them my DNA, but unfortunately I don't trust anyone yet, and I am worried about cloning and impersonation. However, I really have very little to go on here, and it's possible that Puzzle was merely trying to do something in the best interest of the Humans.
@Alpha: I don't think you have any duty to answer Puzzle's question. Revealing your night ability is one of the strongest plays available, and it should probably be saved for the most opportune time. (And no, I don't know what your ability is.)
Spock is not portrayed correctly. If Vulcans are above petty emotions, what motivates him to join the most elite starship crew in the galaxy? I, on the other hand, have transcended the weakness of emotion and achieved a blissful lack of caring. Apathy is my strength, our strength, which prevents us from being all-to-human. In this spirit, may Meh be with you, always.
I did not mean to for you to take my wording of "loose play" as a discouragement to play well. I just didn't want People to play without a sence of where the information was taking us. I'd rather have some one who has trouble keeping with their role due to what has been said, rather than to have a person who sticks to the role strictly without using what has been said at all. For example, hypotheticly, If my role were "You do not trust BillKing in the least. Win condition Billking's lynching." or something along those line's. Would you rather have me focus on just killing you or, someone who take's into account all else that is happening? That doesn't give my thought process justice but thats the best way I could put it without a debateable end....

I will say though that Urban Druid seems very prone to lash out at anyone who looks at him funny. Is this normal?
No, Help I'm a Bug is the only one to provoke my lashing's... I did not no that I was lashing out at anyone... but I'll try to watch myself.
fixed.
If they can be seen on their profile in invisi-mode, then Billking, Help, and Axel are the suspects.
Note: This is a minor detail, but could be evidence later on. Just wanted to get it out there.
There also was a guest on (cough*deleted cookies*cough), though this could mean nothing.
What do we have better on day 1. An invisible user s most likely mafia if some one was on at that time. Of course, the only person who could have been browsing was Dusk_, whom I observed in un-invisible mode after I posted that.
Have you ever stopped to consider that the person had Invisible Mode on before this game started? Or that them turning it on had nothing to do with this game?
As Axelrod said, that's just massive craplogic. FoS armlx.
Invis Mode: Weak lead at best, looking for something that is not there
Druid: Acting weird, sorta all over the place.
Azreal: What the hell has he done? Not been on for one day? Other people have lives...
Agreed...I don't see how he has been suspicious, he's not even a specialist...

I also see Azreal on right now... so that clears him as the lurking invis...
So far though, it's difficult to come up with anything concrete from this giant mass of mostly inconclusive debate.
But I don't think I'm going to reveal my ability just yet, anyway.

Man, I joke woke up and ya'll were going at it all night. I will decipher the posts lata....
