Day One The Moon's of Magic
Solinari the White Moon is in a Wanning Gibbous
Lunitari the Red Moon is at High Sanction and is in a Waxing Gibbous
The Beginning
I will ask that no one read anyone elses spoilers. I know I really can't stop you from doing so, but it will really mess the story up.
You are both fairly lost. You have recently left your home in Que-Shu in a rather painful parting. Now you are forced to wander the land in hopes that you can find a safe haven. All you know is that wherever you go, you need to find out about the Staff that is now in the possession of Goldmoon.
Thus you find yourselves on the outskirts of Solace. As you approach Solace, with the hopes of rest in your minds. You see the first treetop houses peeking from among the fall foliage, you notice that the road is blocked; just around the bend ahead of you is a group of guards, the Highseeker's militia. A farmer's Oxcart is stopped on the Road, and two of the Soldier's are searching the contents while the driver and passenger stand by. Two additional soldier's watch from a short distance away. One of the Soldier's is holding a chain that is restraining a ferocious looking dog.
You are both traveling back towards Solace when you meet up with each other after long years of seperation. You are of course glad to see each other having been good friends prior to leaving Solace five years ago. However in your absence Solace has changed.
Traveling on your way back to Solace after five years away, you are longing to see those you haven't seen in several years. Still a few miles away from Solace however, the bushes rustle along the side of the road you are traveling on. With little warning five filthy, shabbily clad but heavily armed wretches scramble out of the underbrush and rush at you screaming desperate war cries.
Caught in the middle of reminiscing, Tanis was actually somewhat surprised when the small creatures burst out of the underbrush. He mentally cursed himself for letting his mind wander. He would have never have done something so amateurish in Palanthas. He had let the comfort of nostalgia of his old home lower his guard.
The Goblins close the distance between you and themselves startlingly fast. However they do not get within range for a melee attack as they were themselves already a ways away. However each goblin was carrying a Javelin. Once they are within range, all five of them hurl the Javelin's at you, hoping to Pierce your flesh with the disgusting looking throwing weapons.

Riverwind paused when the militiamen came into view. There weren't many options open, and far too many unknowns. "Forcing through doesn't look good. Do we risk going through the picket, with the staff?"
Goldmoon sighed wearily when the road in to Solace was blocked by the soldiers, searching through the man's cart. When Riverwind mentioned going through with the staff, Goldmoon clutched it closer to her chest, fingers curling tight around it. She was wary about going through the militia with the staff, not knowing what they might attempt to do to it, or her, if she refused to give it up. It was a risk to go through, but this was the first chance at rest they'd had in some time. She closed her eyes a moment, considering their options carefully.
"Perhaps it'd be best to continuing observing from afar to see if they're seizing anything from the other man?" Goldmoon inquired, looking up at Riverwind. She would likely not allow such an injustice go by without confrontation. At least this way, they could see if they'd be able to enter the city without any problems.

And I, since words are not that can reveal
Half the heart-shaking wonder that I feel,
Give you no answer, asking love of me,
But eyes unveiled, lips that move silently.
All youth, all love, all life were made for this,
The wordless moment of the spirit's kiss. -Since Words Are Not, Carolyn Crosby Wilson
Just as Goldmoon finished speaking, the Militiamen got out of the Wagon, motioned to the driver and passenger, who promptly got on and were on their way without any fuss.
OOC: I will require spot checks from each of you to see if you notice whether the Guards took anything from the wagon.

Traversing slowly, seemingly tired, bored, and not paying any attention whatsoever to his surroundings, Wimji is making his way slowly towards Solace. "Someone ought to establish proper transportation services here. Underground train powered by sulphur, perhaps. Walking is horrible. I don't even have a tent with me, so I can't even make camp for the night if it starts to rain, like it very probably will." Wimji gives out a long and prolonged sigh, looking at the long road ahead.
"I'd pay in fine steel for a wagon to arrive and take me w- Is that.. I think it is!"
Suddenly, the seemingly tired gnome takes on a sprint to catch someone, a woman travelling the same road a bit ahead of him. "Rayahisthatrealyou?!"

Goldmoon watched as the militiamen waved the driver and passenger of the wagon on their way, and continued to observe, before moving any closer and braving going through with her prized possession.

Goldmoon can't be certain, but it looked like a rabbit ran across the street 10 feet away from her. Other than that she can't really discern much of anything happening with the Militiamen.

Riverwind nodded his head. For now, they would observe. A pity it was only a farmer's cart and not something more out of the ordinary. Gauging how they might react to the staff would be alot easier if the people going through had been mages.
You notice that one of the Militiamen, the one who appears to be in charge, looks in your direction, shouts something to the others, and they start moving in your direction with a purpose that says that they appear to have noticed you both.
The Goblin you hit seems to falter back a step, with worry, however the others have just caught up and raise their weapons to attack you.

The Bushes off to your left rustle. Suddenly, dark shapes from the woods on both sides of the road. Their yellow-green skin pales against their heavy black armor; their twisted faces glare from the evening darkness. They crouch in a large circle around you, well beyond sword range.
A stout pony climbs up onto the road, ridden by a flabby figure, who appears similar to, though larger than, those that surround you. The rider turns his head towards you and shouts "Onyx demands the Blue Crystal Staff! Forfeit the Staff now or die!"

"Even if you don't have the staff, no one other than the City Watch is allowed in the territories outside of Solace after Curfew. Thus you are both under arrest." He turns to the nearest of his 'men' and says something in a language neither of you understand. The creatures all draw their weapons with looks of glee upon their faces and start closing in on the two of you.

As weapons are drawn, Winji quickly reacts, a short sentence - "Mayaku Laksana" - pouring out of his mouth before the weapons are halfway out of their sheathes. For a moment he glows in eerie blueish hue before incantating another spell: "Batin dari penglihatan, itu tak'kelihatan."

Rayah's attack, though getting mired in the armor of the creature, is able to pierce through the armor none the less, and cause a lethal wound. The creature falls unceramoniously on the ground gurgling in its own blood.
The other creatures hesitate for a moment, but quickly recover their resolve. Three of the creatures remain in front of Rayah, the other two move to behind Rayah in a flanking pattern, attempting to gain an advantage against her. They then strike her.
The other two attempt to find Wimji and attack him, having a difficult time of it seeing as how he is invisible.

The arrow strikes true, the leader of the creatures slumps in his saddle slightly. However he still manages to keep in the Saddle, and manages to keep his mount going towards Solace at full speed, though he now appears somewhat jostled by the ride.
Meanwhile, due to Rayah's actions, two of the creatures manage to take advantage of her momentary lapse of defense in order to strike at her.
