Right now, I have two characters in the works: a rogue warlock and a dragon shaman fighter. If we still need a Main Battle Tank, I'll run the fighter, but if we have room, I'd rather play the warlock. He'll be a pretty useful sniper, I think--lot of ranged damage, and he can go all ELDRITCH SPEAR at fleeing targets.
EDIT: For anyone new to D&D, the warlock is NOT the arcane caster of the party. He can shoot, but he can't buff, do cheese, or use blasting spells. We're gonna need another caster.
Just popping in to say something Shadow, you could make a Hexblade/Warlock push Cha, Str, Con and get the Feat that lets you wear medium Armor (warlocks can wear Light Armor with no Spell Failure normally), and Somantic Weaponry at Level 3 (lets you 'cast' while having both hands full), and you could pretty much play a fighter that debuffs (Hex from hexblade), has area effects (Invocations), can put Edritch Blasts in his Scimitar (Hideous Blow), or throw it as a chain later on (or on a two hander if you want crazy ass stuff, but honestly get a scimitar with Keen property, or invest into the improved crit feats by level 9, so you Crit on a 15, and since EB uses the Weapon roll it also Crits, so YAY you getting Double Crit Damage, also you could ask Halinn if the Raw allows you to Add Cha to the Attack roll... i think RAW allows it but i haven't read the entry in a while and its best to ask the real rules lawyer or Halinn if Amadi is not around).
So yeah Warlock's CAN be tanks in this game when used in Gestlat, just throwing it out there in case you want to play a warlock in a melee way

That is not dead which can eternal lie. And with strange eons even death may die.
Well, what I like about the warlock is the ability to just throw out EB, forever. At higher levels, adding it to the weapon is kind of bad because you only get it on one attack; it's better to be using more advanced forms of EB there than just adding it to the sword.
So of we have a paladin, then we have our tank, right? I don't fully understand Halinn's paladin build, but all paladins have a lot of HP and do well in melee....right? Because I have two characters reasonably well-defined:
--The scout-warlock that just shoots people at range and never goes in close (who is finished with all but skill ranks, detailed character description, and nonweapon items). I'd prefer to use this one; I haven't played many ranged characters, and the idea I have for the character behavior and all will be most amusing.
--The paladin of freedom / dragon shaman, who is a heck of a tank with very useful buffs and healing but who isn't even close to done. All I have is his ability scores. He seems like he'd be good for this particular party, but he'll take a lot more work to finish up.
I'll keep working on the second one, in case we need him, but I want to know how everyone's character is supposed to operate before I choose.
ok if a spot is left ill do the hexblade/warlock (Eldritch Glaive for high level pre epic takes care of the multiple attacks per round problem btw, and feats that apply to polearms apply to eldritch glaive as well)

I have made a list of those who have asked me to join this group. Even though some of you have not been able to post at the start of this thread, you may still have a chance to get in before others. The characters must be done by Friday. I will be checking them in the afternoon my time on Friday and and want them there by the morning your time to avoid confusion. If you thought you may have been interested but realize are not interested/able to follow the time line able on the first post, do not post your characters and I will bump your names down the list for other characters.
1 Dracofaust
2 Random Helix
3 Shadow of Nevinrryal
4 Id Ego
5 Talore
6 Halinn
7 TheEndIsNear
8 SeraphPrime
9 Leathal Shadow
10 Pokershark
Others who have not posted yet will be capable of joining, just be put at the back of the line.
I don't know how the rules using flaws work but if you make a character with a specific flaw you may gain bonus for it later.
So just to be sure about the level adjustment bit....
If I want to make a goliath character, he won't be gestalt until second level, right? But I do his character sheet as a non-gestalt, first-level whatever?
(Also, may I use a goliath? It's a simple race whose details are here, but it's from Races of Stone, which you didn't explicitly allow).
Keelan Chainbreaker's name is very literal; he escaped his clan's enslavement by breaking his bonds. He is a young paladin of freedom with more passion than sense. His character is finished, other than detailed backstory.
Tessana Deepsoul is a halfling with a dark heritage. Her soul is filled with the energy her father claimed for her family, and it has shaped her life in unpleasant ways. I haven't finished up her skills and her items yet, because it looks like we'll need Keelan more for this party, but I will by tomorrow afternoon.
So here's Frederick Von Richten, do note however i do not claim a spot in this game, this was done for my personal amusement, if however the DM has slots open and wishes to include me i am to use this character.
Also to note is that while my character has 3 flaws selected i made sure that as a Tank two of those would impact me heavily (losing 1 Hp per level is in fact a heavy flaw since i will be the front liner a lot of the time, as well as the lower AC specially early on in the game), as such i felt that having a third more negligible (but still important, the fact i am completely clueless of anything surrounding me is important in a battlefield/dungeon :p) flaw was understandable

How are you using a persistent spell with just 5 turn undead attempts? And what are your domains?
The munchkin way would be Planning and Undeath (SpC both) domains, for free feats Extend spell and Extra Turning, respectively. Also, cloistered cleric (UA, and thus on the SRD) is just plain better for you than regular cleric, gaining lore and knowledge domain for free
Hopefully Helpful,
Mads
D'oh! Fixing all those now soon. Thanks for the help!
Yep, looking at everyone else's characters, I definitely want to go with Keelan rather than Tessana. Nobody else has any toughness at all...
I tweaked his stats slightly though. I think we're waiting for one more character?
EDIT: I think I'll also use the nonspellcasting paladin variant from Complete Warrior, if that's okay. I think we have enough casters in the party; adding more seems superfluous.
Talore: if it adds two extra known or useable that would be fine, if it is something else let me know.
everyone: please put your sources for where you are getting all your feats and abilities from, because I am getting really mixed up
also I am still going by the list so Sepiriel you may still be in, even at the end.

A Storyteller is not a GM. A GM is God. God is one of the Storyteller's little minions. Ti'rin
Okay, I finally have everything locked down. I changed my mind and am going for the standard paladin (of freedom) build, not the nonspellcasting one. I tweaked Keelan's stats appropriately. I'll have to buy an item to give him enough wisdom to cast anything....but I'm okay with that. It feels appropriate that his character start out somewhat unwise.
Hence winning D&D, when I get wild shape I play every other role than the people who specialize for it :D.
How many people in this game? The Psion/Bard seems really niche and will really fail of we don't have the bases covered.

Tell me if i missed anything
EDIT: THAT's what it was. Thanks, Halinn.
EDIT2: Yes, I can see it now. Looks like I may need to be the tank, unless someone else volunteers.
Note that I couldn't find starting cash on the SRD; so I just took a minimalist amount of gear.
Druid||Cloistered Cleric confirmed.

Dracofaust, you have 10 hp not 9

He took a trait that lowers his health.
Can I take the spontaneous Divine Caster option for my cleric half? Link is here:http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/spontaneousDivineCasters.htm
Nevermind, I changed my mind. =P

I am thinking of a Bio but ain't sure how complex you want it.
