"Being academic is the key to knowledge, with that knowledge my power grows, with my power growing I will beable to cast my body aside and live the true life of knowledge" Alaster says calmly, as he has many times before when questioned about his desire for knowledge. He takes a drink of his water letting it sooth his throat after the long night in the cold room.
"A normal life?" Alaster asks, putting his cup back down. "A normal life for me, is finding the answer to the next question, if that is done, then it is finding the next question" he glances around to see if everyone has arrived yet.
"Normal? Normal is whatever you make of it, it is the act of doing what one usually does, if adventuring is constantly done by you, then this would be normal" he says taking another drink from the water waiting on his fellow user of the mind.
"Damn! What in the name of the Spider Queen's Drider pet sock puppet is going on!?"

"30 years? I have been utilizing my mind for greater knowledge for longer than that. My mind has been my weapon for a great deal of time, but that would be telling" Alaster says with a friendly smile, trying to cheer the one friend that understands his thoughts.
"Living the life you like is easy, just choose to do so, Alacar here will give you what he can, and you can easily find the rest" he suggests as he stands up for a small stretch before sitting back down.
"Good morning Orvel, and how are you doing this morning besides missing the blade on your chin?" he says sliding a cup towards his warrior companion.
"Are you excited to find the knowledge of this well today?"

Alacar shook his head. "Alaster, Aliiryn, this is not the place to bicker about who's been doing their job longer. We've all done hard time. And we all want to get out of here. Some faster than others." He nodded. "But we're here, and we've gotta make the best of it."
Seeing Orvel enter, he grins a little. "Good morning. How's the moon?"
"Make the best of it? I am enjoying this, I wish to find the well and try and learn its secrets, as for the time on the job, I fear nothing if I meet someone doing a longer shift, it is not the time spent doing ones job, but the results of the work that matter"Alaster says standing from the table and going to find his friend that is still not awake

The five of you finally congregate downstairs--the barkeep and tavern owner is happy to see you all here, and lets you eat as much as you like for no charge. The others in the tavern eye the group suspiciously, but you ignore them and finish your meal, emerging into the small village. The place looks much the same as it was. Mayor Logan's house looms ahead.
Looking towards the mayor's house Roth yawns loudly "Damn, it is to early and why the hell are you all freezing I mean it is only frozen out but come on I know you all can adapt like I did."
Roth spent some power points to adapt to the surroundings.
"Roth, your sense of adapting is not very high, try to remember we percieve the feel of the world as something worth feeling" Alaster says emerging from the inn and walking towards the mayor's home.
"I am interested in learning from this well, let us try and arrive in a timely manner to the local"

The party comes to the Mayor's house, who greets them with a smile. "Welcome, heroes.. I hope you slept well. Come with me." He led the group inside and he approached a small closet door. You'd passed it several times yesterday, not even noticing. He opened the door and you all see, surpirisingly, a shimmering green light standing in a circle of magical energy.
"This is a teleportation ring. It leads to the Well of Knowledge. It will tell you what it can... if you want to know more you must feed it gems and jewels." He waved each of you to go through.
Each of you step inside, and pop out into a massive marble structure, standing with many pillars, seemingly stretching on for all eternity. It looks ancient, but still white and polished in a mystic sort of way, its walls lined with ancient, but still thriving vines. Each of you can feel an immense power not far from your position. The mayor hands you all a map.
"Go, and best of luck." The mayor says, returning through the teleport. From the map, you guess that you are located at the green diamonds in the northwestern corner.
(Attached is a grid map of what the mayor gives you.)

Taking the map, Alaster glances over it with diligent thought "I assume we just need to leave the room and walk towards the center of the area" he rolls the map up before proceeding towards the southern door to find the well.

The party moves out of the room with the teleportation circle, exiting through the southern door, coming out of the next room, as it was bare, but the vines seemed to run throughout the hall. The party exits outside just to see four men, dressed in black robes, scurrying past. They stop and see the party.
"It's them! We have to stop them!"
"Don't stop now! We've got to get back to the headquarters before the others find us!"
"Or worse, the dragon!"
(You may roll knowledge checks, or try to intercept the party with a method of your choosing.)
Seeing the robed figures scurry about Alaster poses himself for the chance to stall them.
"Bane's? Eh, they all seem the same to me" Alaster says as his eyes begin to shine, the very ringing of his thoughts echoing throughout the halls, his very mental waves of concentration pulseing from his very mind.
"Stand where you are" he shouts to the would be clerics as the mental pulse pushes from his locations, spanning outward from his very mind, each beat forward spreading out enveloping the area with his mental might.

All but one of the clerics are suddenly stunned, stumbling around. The one that isn't looks back and then sees the party. "What are you doing, you fools! We have to get out of here before the dragon comes back, or worse!"
