Kyran experiences a sudden sense of suffocation as he's pulled through the shadows to another location. Suddenly, he find himself alone with the robed figure in a dark, damp tunnel that seem like it's miles below the earth.
Everything scares me... kitties scare me... squirrels scare me... corpses....corpses bring forth a pletora of confusing feeling which i prefer not to dwell on...:p
Laucian's mood brightens slightly at what looks to be the end of the journey, but he doesn't speed up.

Never forget: there's always someone bigger, better and stronger than you.
Someone once asked me why, when I talk about House Dimir, I don't put the word "the" in front of it.
At the time, I had no answer, but it just came to me.
Do we put the word "the" in front of God?

"Sounds marvelous," he said, though concern had washed over his face.
When they turned to leave, however, they soldier merely grew louder and more threatening.
"Hey, you wench, where do you think you're going? What does that feather freak have that we don't?" Both picked up a pair of crossbows at their side, and Quarrion took a defiant step forward, readying himself to defend his new friend.
As soon as Michael starts running, he finds that he has arrived on the bank of an underground river, and there are several tunnels like the one he just appeared from. Besides the shadow, there is no one there.
The shadow turned and transformed into a dracolich said, "I can either wait here with you, or you can wait alone for the others to arrive. Your choice."
As Laucian and Reynard walk through the end of the tunnel, they arrive on the bank of a gigantic underground river. Standing next to them is another person accompanied by an identical figure to the one that has escorted them.

Out of one of the other tunnels come two men. One, a human, is dressed in clothes that resemble the undertunic members of the Raydrosian army wear under their armor. The human is carrying a longsword in one hand. The other, an elf, is wearing clothing of a richer cut than the human's, with studded leather armor over top of it and a deep blue cloak over top of that. The elf has a rapier on his left hip. The elf looks quickly around the chamber and nudges the human before leading his companion over to the third (the human alone). He approaches the lone human, gives him a quick once-over, and then bows respectfully. "Good day. I am Laucian, this is Reynard. What is your name, good sir?"

Both soldiers took grievous insult from her words, and each sent a bolt towards Dereina's chest.
Quarrion acted quickly, however, and pulled her close to his chest, and wrapped his wings around her body. The sickening thud of the bolts hitting wings echoed in Dereina's ears. Soft lines of blood dripped down the once perfect feathers.
Quarrion, however, seemed unfazed. If he was in pain, he certainly wasn't showing it.
"Hold tight now, ok?" he said softly. In a flash, the pair disappeared from sight, and found themselves standing next to an elven and two humans, with what must have been identical twins in black robes. The area seemed to be miles under the earth, and on the bank of a gigantic underground river.

You've given me authority to give you **** for years now.
I hope you realize we've had four fights, and you've already killed two characters.
As the two groups get to know each other, a Drow with angel wings and a human woman popped out of nowhere, hugging each other tightly. The drow's wings are bleeding.
I'll tell ya, it's refreshing to see a DM who isn't afraid to kill us off. There are times, when I'm playing tabletop, that I get sick of noticing that the DM will fudge numbers so it doesn't happen.

As the pair popped into existence, Laucian whirled around, his hand on his rapier, dropping into a ready stance while staring at the drow.
Adopted Stance of Clarity, targeting the Drow.
"Who are you?"
You've obviously not played in one of my games then. I remember one five hour tabletop session where a friend of mine made three different characters. This was the first session, so he made one, it died, then he made another, it died and then he made a third. It died two sessions later.

"Michael Haart, servant of Pelor," Michael says to all the strangers, bowing in return. His voice still calm and friendly, he says "What, may I ask, is a Raydrosian soldier doing down here?"
As he talks, he calls on his Deity's power to sense evil in all the newcomers.

Laucian grinned. "Their treatment of him was defective so he defected. He was drafted into the army against his will. He seems a reasonable sort."

He meant me. After some discussion (and a little bargaining on my part), he allowed me to change from CN to LE. So now I'm LE.

Ti'rin's character is evil. The dorw is a freakin beacon of goodsauce.
He did change it, but we had a discussion, and he's evil again. We already discussed how the change can effect the campaign, and his character is being held to a personal code of conduct. Plus, if things do end up getting out of hand, I have NPCs that can and will break up the fight.
Laucian straightens up and releases the hilt of his rapier. "Sorry, just a little jumpy today." He addresses both the woman and the winged drow, "And who might you be?"

Michael nods at Laucian. "I'll take your word on it then. He doesn't seem to be like the other soldiers I met today."
He makes a mental note to watch the elf who is evil for any subterfuge.
