Since we need a DM for the Ysgard-campaign, I'll just try to get us one.

The offer on my house fell through, which means I'm not moving stuff every day...
Which means I can start to worm my way back into internet games.
Anyone interested in DMing a solo?
Possibly. Gimmie some time to see if I can think up a reasonably exciting storyline for you.
Any ideas on setting or atmosphere you might be interested in would be helpful as a starting point.
So far the only thing I've got is that this campaign wouldn't have "kingdoms" or "armies", but rather small cities and towns struggling to survive and using individuals (AKA PC and classed NPCS) to tip the balance of power.
Possibly set just after some horrible cataclysm wipes out large portions of the population and destroys the former kingdoms.
Everything scares me... kitties scare me... squirrels scare me... corpses....corpses bring forth a pletora of confusing feeling which i prefer not to dwell on...:p
Mechanically? I really want to play a Swiftblade. I find that gestalting, higher WBL, mamelon point-buy, feat/level, and other normally unbalancing things help survivability of solo characters. Also, I really dislike playing below level 6. Start points from 6-15 work really well with me (Especially if I do Swiftblade, having more than a single level in it helps XP)
Setting/Atmosphere? I'm not entirely sure, but my two greatest likes are either epic, or grim. From what you describe, a grim setting would work better. If humanity has been sent half-way to oblivion, then there should be real and lasting effects from that. An atmosphere of hopelessness would suit it well. And again for the setting, woods and rolling hills don't suit cataclysm that well. Sheer mountains, blighted swamps, crevasses with freaking rivers of lava torn through the landscape. Deserts of ash where there were plains, forests burnt and blasted.

Doubt it's gonna be gestalt, especially since you're playing a Swiftblade. Those things are engines of destruction. But other than that, there will be some nice perks to being a solo character. Extra feats, ability bonuses, powerful magic items, etc.
Starting around level 8-10 is probably the way to go.

Gim is good. I'm good at that. Also, I'm fairly sure I've got a biological imperative to include horror elements in my games, so expect for your character to be creeped out at least once in a while.
So far I've got several elements of the story thought up, particularly the importance of individuals instead of military might.
The population will be insanely small. I'm talking less than a million suvivors from all civilized races combined. Which gives me lots of room to add in dangerous wilderness/wastelands to play around in.
Everything scares me... kitties scare me... squirrels scare me... corpses....corpses bring forth a pletora of confusing feeling which i prefer not to dwell on...:p
Excellent stuff! I like horror thrown in too, as long as it isn't the 'main and sole' focus of a campaign. I'm cool with the setting as you've described it so far. I don't mind not being gestalt
So I'll start fleshing out the character stat-wise. Make sure to throw any other final decisions as far as character creation go up here as soon as you decide, so I can implement them.
I've decided on level 10 as the starting level. I'll throw up a character creation thread a little later tonight once I've finished figuring out the little things and have thought up a starting scenario and some background.
Oh, and for the record this will be more of a campaign about your character's personal growth than a "save the whole world because you're just that awesome" campaign. There will certainly be some epic adventures, but the main focus will be about your character's rise to power and the effects of their decisions and actions.
EDIT: Oh, and please no evil characters. Neutral or good characters are much more suited to this kind of game.
Everything scares me... kitties scare me... squirrels scare me... corpses....corpses bring forth a pletora of confusing feeling which i prefer not to dwell on...:p
So I'd feel like a bit of a bastard if I was playing a solo and didn't try to give back to the P&PI somehow. I've got a lot of work to do, but maybe in a week or so I'd possibly entertain the notion of DMing a solo/duo campaign? Express intrest if you are so interested, as well as ideas for setting or mechanics that you'd prefer. I'm open.

I'd also be interested, if you're still thinking of it being a duo game.
And for once, I honestly don't care if Amadi makes an overpowered character. I'd rather go outside my standard character comfort zone and play a rogue with lots of social skill and average combat.
I'd also prefer the PCs be required to be good or neutral. I dislike evil PCs. Too much drama and backstabbing and plots. Oh, and at least a medium amount of social interaction and/or political intrigue. Mostly so my character doesn't die horribly in combat too often.

I'm fine with it if Amadi is fine with it. You two work out the details; I've still got work to do IRL before the game can start. I shall cater to your wants.

WATER ORC (BATTLE) SORCERER! (/Abjurant Champion)
No, really. Barely enough charisma to cast my spells, and STRENGTH! RAWR!

Yeah, sure. I can take Intimidate and "help" you.
EDIT: Alternatively, we could both run "stealthy" characters and go sneaking around as a tag-team.

My guy will probably just be a melee rogue type, with high Int, Cha, and Dex. Possibly branching into several Assassin levels assuming Talore is willing to waive the alignment restrictions.
Some kind of do-gooder vigilante-type, bringing stabby justice to the corrupt after conning his way in the door.

hey all, I was wondering if anyone out there would be interested in running a D&D 3.5 Edition, Dragonlance Campaign set in the Age of Mortals or the Age of Despair (either one works) for me. I don't really care what the storyline is set around, or what the number of participating players is, but I would really like to play a Dragonlance campaign if at all possible

I really enjoy Dragonlance and I have some spare time so I wouldn't mind playing a Dragonlance campaign depending on the specifics, of course. I'm largely familiar with everything up through the War of Souls but nothing at all after that.

as far as I know, there isn't much after the War of Souls as of yet. The entire time line has yet to develop much further than that as near as I can tell.

Then count me highly interested. I would like to know about the specifics as far as what material would be allowed and the other details but Dragonlance was how I got into D&D and fantasy literature and I haven't played a Dragonlance adventure since 2nd Ed when I was about 12 years old so it would be a great trip down nostalgia lane for me.
Well, dragonlance has like gazillion sourcebooks for D&D. I mean.. Check the list..
Some of them are not 3.0 or 3.5, though.

AMADI... I specifically stated that I was looking for a 3.5 D&D Adventure set in the Dragonlance Campaign World. The only Dragonlance Sourcebooks that matter in this case are the 3.5 Edition ones.
