I'm not sure who else plays the game, but I'm getting ready to start one with some friends of mine (about 4 people, two have finished their characters) and I'm setting up my game with the setting in the Twin Cities (camerilla game).
I'm using the revised rules of the older version (I don't know requiem at all and don't to spend the money to get it).
I haven't gotten to the sabbat yet, but will later. I've finished with most of the clans of the Camerilla, the only independent clan I'm going to hadd is the Giovanni.
I'm not going to bother with too much with other supernaturals (no werewolves, no ghosts, no changlings, etc.) except perhaps as plot devices (like mentioning them in story).
Though I do use the Kuei-Jin, they aren't going to be a major part of the story (that could change in the future). Instead I'm using them as a plot device only, if I use them at all, while I do have some notes for them I'm not going to include them here.
Anyway I wanted to put what I have in my notes on here to see what you all think:
The Prince:
Name: Giustino (Latin meaning – ‘just’ or ‘fair’) he also wears the ring of the fisherman on his right hand.
Real Name: Domingo de Borja (unknown to anyone else)
Clan: Nosferatu
Age: Over 500 years
Generation: 6th
Haven: The Saint Paul Cathedral
Character Notes: Giustino’s philosophies of rule:
Giustino does not tolerate breaches of the Masquerade with younger vampires, but may use violations of older vampires as leverage to seek advantage in furthering his agenda.
The same is true of progeny; he will kill unauthorized progeny, but use the violation as leverage over the childe’s sire (or use it as a means to kill vampires he views as a threat).
Giustino doesn’t tolerate vampires who don’t announce themselves in his domain. He strictly enforces this tradition without exception.
He is a bit more flexible when it comes to the tradition of Accounting. Giustino will generally just kill the childe (unless he views the sire as a threat to get rid of) and will use mercy as a means to extract favors from the sire. His philosophy is to use this tradition more as leverage to control other kindred.
Giustino prefers to use black mail, subterfuge, and information to get what he wants. While he doesn’t know how to use technology very well, members of his clan do and are very loyal to him.
Giustino controls the churches, food shelters, and homeless shelters in Minneapolis/Saint Paul. He uses homeless ghouls, priests, nuns, and some volunteers to help keep an eye on his domain.
The Sheriff
Name: Matilde D’Cruz (meaning Mighty Warrior of the Cross)
Age: Over 500 years old
Clan: True Brujah
Generation: 7th
Haven: The Saint Paul Cathedral
Matilde is extremely loyal to Guistino having served him as his sheriff for over 400 years. She acts as his enforcer and his right hand and he trusts her more than anyone else, including members of his own clan. This has lead to some members of clan Nosferatu to hold some resentment toward her. The Harpy:
Name: Victoire “Victoria” Badeau (Victoria means victory while Badeau means the partisans who like things that are extraordinary)
Age: Over 200 years old (appears to look about 11 or 12 years old)
Clan: Toreador
Generation: 9th
Haven: The Walker Institute
The Keeper of Elysium:
Name: Sebastian Cross
Age: Over 150 years old
Clan: Ventrue
Generation: 9th
Haven: The Capella Tower
The Vampires of the Twin Cities
Clan Ventrue
The ventrue controls the banks, the Minnesota GOP, and has several lawyers and judges in their pocket. They also have some control over the police department. To those outside the clan, everything looks normal. However, behind the scenes, several members of clan venture would like to see Bryson gone. Clan Ventrue would like to retake the Twin Cities and install their own prince; however they don’t want to see Bryson return to the throne. They believe he has lost sight of the clan’s best interests in his quest for power.
Primogen: Bryson Curtis 9th generation (meaning: Nobleman who is refined)
Haven: The Capella Tower
Bryson also acts as the Keeper of Elysium and also the Primogen of clan Ventrue. Bryson was the former Prince of Minneapolis (now the Primogen of the Ventrue), but stepped down when Giustino arrived in the mid 90s. He originally ruled Minneapolis but during the 1940s he eventually killed the prince of Saint Paul and claimed his domain as his own. In the 70s the Hmong arrived and with them, the Kuei-Jin.
The arrival with the Kuei-Jin at first brought curiosity. This lead to several small fights between the Kuei-Jin and the Kindred. Finally to all out war in the 90s with heavy losses on both sides. The Kindred however seemed to be on the losing end, which lead the kindred in the twin cities to begin to question Bryson ability to rule. Until Guistino arrived and took over (this probably saved Bryson’s unlife).
Bryson’s reputation suffered and he felt insulted that Guistino was able to barge in and become victorious over an enemy he had so much trouble with.
He would like nothing more than to get rid of Guistino and regain the power he once had, but also thinks that he might be able to learn from him as well. So he waits and plots unaware that the other member's of his clan are plotting against him.
Sebastian Cross, Childe of Bryson Curtis. Sebastian is Bryson’s right hand man. Sebastian however is plotting to get rid of Bryson and take over as Primogen of clan venture. He serves as the Keeper of Elysium.
Isabel Salinger, would like to see Bryson Curtis gone. Isabel is a lawyer. She has connections in the capital, the District Attorney’s office, as well as connections in the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
Thomas Rutteger, still believes in Bryson and runs Integral Media, a marketing & consultant company in Minneapolis.
Joseph O’Connell, Would like to see Bryson Curtis gone. Sebastian Cross’s right hand man and has connections with the higher ups in the police department.
Maximilian Monroe, relatively new Kindred, takes care of the books and takes care of tasks the higher ups don’t have time to take of for themselves. He has connections with the zoning boards of Minneapolis and Saint Paul.
Clan Brujah
Clan Brujah usually hangs out at The Nickel Joint, a bar in Saint Paul. Though they are part of the Camerilla, they do not actively take part in much of the politics (they have very little interest). They generally like to focus their energy in running underground fights in the basement of The Nickel Joint, arranging night rides (with their motor cycles), and hanging out at the local bar, and flexing their muscle for the Camerilla. Their members are all bikers. They do keep a huge arsenal of weapons as many of the members are weapon fanatics. The prince usually calls on them when he needs them for muscle, a feature both the prince and the Brujah like to use.
The clan has connections to weapons dealers, drug dealers, and street information. They also have influence over several biker clubs (some of which are the clan’s ghouls) in the Twin Cities and connections with more outside of the Twin Cities.
Primogen: Tony ‘Pit-bull’ Armstrong
Generation: 9th
Haven: The Nickel Joint
Tony is short, but incredibly muscular. He doesn’t have a lot of social skills, but what he lacks in social tact, he makes up for in pure muscle. He doesn’t really care about the ‘why’ so much as the ‘who’ he gets to fight. For him, the harder the fight, the more he likes it (he’s a bit of an adrenaline junkie).
Brogan Pierce: Has a bit of an obsession with knives and swords. Loves to fight and fits right in with the rest of the clan in the Twin Cities.
Dingo Thomas: A bit of a motor head, also loves boxing and MMA.
Sherry Gonzalas: A bit of a hot head (the rest of the clan views her as a bit of a firecracker), but a good soldier. Likes to be dominating and hates owing people anything.
Danny ‘Danny Boy’ Salazar: Also a bit of a motor head, loves boxing and guns. He’s also a bit of an adrenaline junkie.
Betty ‘Bets’ Brunson: She’s a bit of an adrenaline junkie herself and is a bit of a degenerate gambler. She loves knives and guns and enjoys a good fight.
Tommy ‘Gunz’ Schultz: Former Special Forces and loves guns, boxing, and MMA.
Gangrel
There are currently no known Gangrel in the twin cities, as they have left the Camerilla about 10 years ago – there’s no reason for them to stay. They do however reside outside of the Twin Cities, but none are very note-worthy and none resides anywhere near the Twin Cities. Will add notes as needed, if needed at all.
Clan Toreador
Clan Toreador is run by Victoria Badeau, though she is not the clan’s primogen in name, she does run the clan in practice, along with her two brothers. Together they run the Walker Art Museum, all of the Twin Cities record labels, the orchestra, the local theatres (plays and orchestras) and know everyone worth knowing in the arts and entertainment industry. They also have considerable influence in the Fashion industry in Minneapolis. They also own several of the hottest clubs and restaurants in the Twin Cities.
Elbert serves as the clan Primogen, though he is only the clan primogen in name. He serves mostly as a mouth piece for his sister Victoria. Elbert is the music scene in the Twin Cities and can make or break a musician’s career with the power of his influence. He loves to throw lavish parties for the biggest celebrities when they are in town in his downtown Minneapolis Condo.
Lothaire Badeau
Generation: 9th
Lothaire owns several Minneapolis fashion companies and serves as a consultant to many other companies in the fashion industry. He has connections to the New York and Paris fashion scenes and often puts on the biggest fashion shows in Minneapolis. He spends a lot of time with his sister and brother at parties they love to throw for celebrities and other important figures in the Twin Cities.
Victoire “Victoria” Badeau (The Harpy)
Generation: 9th
Haven: The Walker Institute
Victoria serves as the Camerilla Twin City’s harpy. She has the body of a 12 year old girl. She also runs much of the Fashion, Music, Theatre shows, and art shows in the Twin Cities. She has learned Dominate from her father who died several hundred years ago in France before she and her brothers moved to the United States. Despite her appearance, she is actually the eldest of the three siblings and together they are the most important and influential of all the Toreador in the Twin Cities. She also has considerable influence within the Camerilla (due to her serving as the Harpy) and keeps up with all the latest news from the Twin Cities, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Paris. She is also a very accomplished musician (having mastered the piano, cello, violin, and harp), Painter, Sculpture artist, drawer, and is very good at acting and writing poetry. She also has several ghouls which serve her (and often compete for her attention and affection).
Frank Gaard: Frank Gaard is a famous painter in the Twin Cities and has his paintings featured in several art galleries across the United States. He caught Victoria’s eye with his interesting style and over the top themes in his paintings and she has put several of his paintings on display at the Walker Institute. He has some influence in the art community and is blood bound to Victoria, whom he has served as a ghoul for a long time and has a deep affection for and admiration for.
Dirk LeBlanc: A Neonate (Player) who owns the Lamp Lighter gentlemen’s club.
Eva Gustavson: A Neonate (Player) who was a former doctor, but caught the eye of Lothaire Badeau due to her profound beauty.
Clan Tremere
The Tremere have two chantrys in the Twin Cities. The first is the Land Mark center in down town Saint Paul, while the second is located the Municipal Building. They have two Regents; Ashton Brinkley (English) and Tatum Brinkley (English). Tatum Brinkley serves as the Primogen for clan Tremere. Together they oversee the training of the Twin City’s neonates. The clan member’s are staunch supporters of the Camerilla and the view Guistino as a strong leader.
The chantrys are protected by powerful wards, in fact unless invited (or a member of clan Tremere), mortals and immortals alike will not be able to find the secrete entrances to enter them. The clan prefers to just be left to their studies, although they are always ready and willing to help further the agenda of both the clan and the Camerilla – in that order.
Primogen: Tatum Brinkley (and Regent in Minneapolis)
Generation: 10th
Haven/Chantry: the Municipal Building in Minneapolis
Tatum Brinkley has two other neonates that serve clan Tremere as apprentices. She has a good relationship with Ashton Brinkley and the two often swap research notes and discuss a variety of topics and philosophy on a variety of subjects. She serves as the clan’s Primogen in the Twin Cities, but only because Ashton dislikes dealing with politics.
Apprentices: Leonardo Jones and Winter O’Reilly, these characters are not important right now, will add notes as needed, if needed at all.
Regent in Saint Paul: Ashton Brinkley
Generation: 10th
Haven/Chantry: Landmark Center, Down Town Saint Paul
Ashton has three other neonates that serve the clan in Saint Paul.
Apprentices: Anton Johnson, Camilla Mathews, and Samantha Beaumont, these characters are not important right now, will add notes as needed, if needed at all.
Clan Nosferatu
The clan has grown considerably more powerful since Guistino has arrived. Guistino has provided the clan with his connections within the Catholic Church, the blood banks, religiously associated hospitals, homeless shelters, and many other religiously associated buildings and people within the Twin Cities. Guistino’s influence is very far reaching, extending all over the United States, Europe, and even in some areas in Asia.
Some of the clan’s members believe that Guistino may even have connections to the camerilla’s inner circle (some think he may even be a member), however none are quite sure and none of the rumors have been sustained.
In any case, the Nosferatu use the old caves along the Mississippi river (the old boot legging caves) to move supplies around (some of whom make their havens there) and the sewers of the Twin Cities.
Primogen: “Gorgeous” George
Generation: 8th
Haven: The Warrens, which are located under the sewer system under the Twin Cities.
Gorgeous George is the man in charge of the clan’s politics and serves as Guistino’s left hand man and information officer (he’s based on the character ‘Gorgeous Gary’ from V:TM: Bloodlines). He is a bit sadistic and finds amusement in making other kindred (especially Ventrue and Toreador) crawling through the Twin City sewer systems to the warrens in order to negotiate or make deals with them.
Other Clan Members: Though there are several other clan members, no one outside the clan knows them and they are not important to the story (though I will add notes as needed, if needed at all). Kindred will primarily deal with Gorgeous George.
Well I do have one question right off the bat: WHY?
Because I'm using them as a plot device; to create conflict with the former prince within his own clan and the rest of the kindred (that is why they are only mentioned in my notes). I felt like I needed a strong enemy and wanted to have an even stronger leader/kindred to overcome those enemies as well (as part of the back story).
Later on, I might use them as another plot device because they are unorganized and act as Chih-Mei, so the prince views them as a threat to the masquerade.
They might also make a good potential story later on too, so I'm also leaving that open for possibilities.
In any case, they aren't important and what do you think about the rest?
Played the game for years and year. in fact won an award at Orgins at a WW run game for playing a primogen that was suppose to die, but didn't.
if you are going to use them as a plot device i don't see to much of an issue. i have or had both books. they don't mesh to well and will lead to a lot of looking up various charts and stuff.
looks like a cool campaign, remember keep it fun. let the people do unscripted things and be prepared for when they do.
IE: i was suppose to put magic markings on a castle and in fact started a fire and almost burnt the thing down.
It was a weird setting and well the vamp there tried to kill us. so i stabbed him in the eye with my dagger and then rolled him and a carpet into a fire.
what was wierd was the ghoul that tried to sneak up behind us failed so badly that he fell down the stairs he came up impalied himself on a spiked mace and then was decapitated when the ax fell.
it was pretty funny. was made it funnier is that the GM said that it was so big of a failure that Cain himself popped out of no where and incenerated the ghoul on the spot.

Malks make good NPC consultants. Most of the games I played in the Elder Malk was an oracle of sorts. (Example: The old witch in the 13th warrior before Bolveik and the vikings go into the caves to kill the Windor.)
I love the Nos 'Gorgeous' George, is that a tribute to the wrestler?
@mystery: I love when a GM has a good sense of humor. Epic Fails for NPCs should occasionally have things like that.

Yeah I've been thinking about what I should do with the Malks, I want to create a few of them and I want them to be interesting. I do envision them interacting with the players at some point.
I was thinking of creating one that is extremely obsessive compulsive, another who's schizophrenic (has a friend(s) that he/she is always arguing with), and a third one who anthropomorphizes objects.
I want to put them in positions where they're behind the scenes doing something behind the scenes of the Twin Cities - but I'm not quite sure what exactly just yet.
I do want to use the Giovanni at some point, but I think I'm just going to leave them out of my notes for now, until I want to use them as a plot device.
I'm also still working on the first part of the story (I have an idea), which once I've set up the scene of the Twin Cities, I'll share with you all, so I can get some help fleshing it out.
I'm still running this particular game with my players actually. The story has progressed to where the Sabbat siege now going full swing.
Up until that time the players were dealing with the creations of a Tzimisce and witnessing the horrific aftermath of vicissitude as well as occasional Sabbat scout/shock troops probing for weakness.
They were also dealing with some of the elders using them as pawns for their own agendas (one of the elders of the city met final death just before the siege began, which is going to lead to some more struggles for (some of) the players, since while that elder had many enemies - he also had some friends.
Its been a *loooong* time since I've played Vampire, but isn't true faith a problem for the vampires? I recall that holy symbols in and of themselves weren't an issue, but I seem to recall a holy symbol would be a problem when utilized by someone who truly believed in it.
If thats correct, than a church would be a *terrible* haven for a vampire, because there would always be one or two true believers stopping in for some prayers, worshiping at the altar, etc.

I could be thinking of another system though.
Yes that is correct. However true faith is not very common and is actually very rare. It should also be noted that vampires can also have true faith. In fact there was a sabbat cardinal from Spain who had true faith (Moncada I think?).
Finally just because someone has true faith and enters a church doesn't mean that the church suddenly becomes holy ground either.
Also this is an old thread and that was a rough draft of my game. Many things have changed so there's that too.
I'm using the revised rules of the older version (I don't know requiem at all and don't to spend the money to get it).
I haven't gotten to the sabbat yet, but will later. I've finished with most of the clans of the Camerilla, the only independent clan I'm going to hadd is the Giovanni.

Anyway I wanted to put what I have in my notes on here to see what you all think:

Because I'm using them as a plot device; to create conflict with the former prince within his own clan and the rest of the kindred (that is why they are only mentioned in my notes). I felt like I needed a strong enemy and wanted to have an even stronger leader/kindred to overcome those enemies as well (as part of the back story).
Later on, I might use them as another plot device because they are unorganized and act as Chih-Mei, so the prince views them as a threat to the masquerade.
They might also make a good potential story later on too, so I'm also leaving that open for possibilities.
In any case, they aren't important and what do you think about the rest?
if you are going to use them as a plot device i don't see to much of an issue. i have or had both books. they don't mesh to well and will lead to a lot of looking up various charts and stuff.
looks like a cool campaign, remember keep it fun. let the people do unscripted things and be prepared for when they do.
Thanks to Epic Graphics the best around.
Thanks to Nex3 for the avatar visit ye old sig and avatar forum
I love the Nos 'Gorgeous' George, is that a tribute to the wrestler?
@mystery: I love when a GM has a good sense of humor. Epic Fails for NPCs should occasionally have things like that.
