Shadowy figure uses snap. And not with his fingers.
Sam uses Groan
"Really? Was that even necessary? You know for a fact that unless I sign for or open the package I haven't 'received' it. For all I know, that package is some weird "Yogurt fetishist monthly" care package addressed to you! "
"Really? Was that even necessary? You know for a fact that unless I sign for or open the package I haven't 'received' it. For all I know, that package is some weird "Yogurt fetishist monthly" care package addressed to you! "
Up comes a video monitor, showing Sam signing for it.
Sam uses Call BS
"Please note, the shirt- which you somehow rather disturbingly managed to predict- " he pauses "Scrap that. We -are- talking about you here. Anyway, you didn't account for the fact that I, yet again, glued my sleeve to itself. So.. Yea. Nope. Can we get back to the matter of you replacing that disc you broke just now? It -is- kind of a big deal."

"Okay, Xanatos. The semantics of who received the package and when, and whether or not You didn't just collect it from the courier five hours ago aside. What is it?"
From behind him is the actual voice of Bro.
"You hold on too long, baby brother. If you had given up early, I could have given you your present."
"You hold on too long, baby brother. If you had given up early, I could have given you your present."
"Wait, this was one of the ones where I'm -supposed- to cooperate? Really?"
Sam uses Can probably break these cuffs and, as Bro has taught him, slams the cuffs down against the bar and simultaneously pulls them apart. This is the part where they're supposed to snap, right?
Ben wonders if Mom has the package he was supposed to be getting today. Noting tons of open space in his sillydex (:P) he is concerned too much about space for it. Then he hears a call for him from downstairs, which he would normally ignore, but not this time, could be one of those foam weapons, which sound sweet, but boring as hell to make.
improbablekittenz: brb Mom wants something.
My character is more or less lying about his dad, but if everyone knows then that's fine, but I thought it'd be funny if my character "played" someone else entirely online.

"I've always been a fan of reality by popular vote" - Stephen Colbert (in response to Don McLeroy)
Sis stares at the box for a moment before slowly opening it. Giving him time to try to get the sylladex going. But... Nope. It still refuses to work. That's incredibly odd. From what Nick knows, every other sylladex works immediately. Is there a trick to this one?
When Sis opens the box, she outright squeals. "Nick, this is just the cutest thing!" She goes into a set of feminine hysteria over something cute. Of course, he could have expected that.
There's a ring at the doorbell.
"Oh, I'll get the door sis, it's your Birthday, you relax and get ready for NRS with your new buddy."
On his way to the door, Nick attempts to slap at his sylladex to get it going, like that Fonz character did with the jukebox. He's actually really unsure if a sylladex is a thing that can be slapped, how does that work anyway? Maybe it wasn't the Fonz-slap that was effective, maybe it was the "AYYYY" afterwards.
Nick opens the door without really checking who's there, too focused on his sylladex and the Fonz-like qualities it would take to fix it.
"AYYYY!"
Damn you Henry Winkler.

Who was that masked man anyway?

Evan slips out of his room, back on his way to the mailbox. With luck, he won't run into his cousin again. He's never been very lucky with that, though.
"Wait, this was one of the ones where I'm -supposed- to cooperate? Really?"
Sam uses Can probably break these cuffs and, as Bro has taught him, slams the cuffs down against the bar and simultaneously pulls them apart. This is the part where they're supposed to snap, right?
The cuffs break. It's only then that the high-tensile wire that was AROUND the cuffs holds again.
Bro just leans in and nods. "Yes. Yes it was. You're supposed to understand at what point resistance is futile."

improbablekittenz: brb Mom wants something.
There is a very long package on the ground in front of him. All done in slopshod brown packaging. It doesn't look like it was shipped very well.
"Oh, I'll get the door sis, it's your Birthday, you relax and get ready for NRS with your new buddy."
On his way to the door, Nick attempts to slap at his sylladex to get it going, like that Fonz character did with the jukebox. Damn you Henry Winkler.
Sis starts to play catch with her new buddy, careful not to get herself hurt. The show is starting in just a few minutes.
"You better hurry. If you miss a minute of it, you know you'll be sorry."
The original slap does very little. But the second slap and expletive actually get a response. A little robotic voice, somewhat Asian in sound, responds:
"Inventory acquisition command word accepted."
Actually, that voice sounds an awful lot like NRS' voice...
Outside is a rather large package. On the top are two envelopes. Both white with green spirographs.
Evan slips out of his room, back on his way to the mailbox. With luck, he won't run into his cousin again. He's never been very lucky with that, though.
His Cousin is still missing. He may actually be in luck today. Just one conversation between the two. In the front hall are two very small packages. About seven inches by two inches by two inches. Not very well bound.
The cuffs break. It's only then that the high-tensile wire that was AROUND the cuffs holds again.
Bro just leans in and nods. "Yes. Yes it was. You're supposed to understand at what point resistance is futile."
Sam sighs, and slumps in the chair "Uhhg. I hate when you do that. And.." Thunk thunk "Is that.. cable? " Well, that's at least.. some victory? "Right.. now.. about that obnoxiously difficult to replace beta disc that you just.. destroyed. As an example.. " Sam leans back against the chair, legs kicked out "And.. probably clipping this wire too.."

"Right.. now.. about that obnoxiously difficult to replace beta disc that you just.. destroyed. As an example.. Bro clucks his tongue, almost sounding disappointed. He slowly moves out from behind of Sam and moves next to the Shadowy Colleague.
"If you give in so easily, how are you ever going to be the best at that foam battle contest thing you always do?"
He pulls out the snapped disc, which is simply a Memorex disc. Written on it is "Sam's Hopes & Dreams".
"And if you don't give in easily enough, how will you keep yourself safe if something ever happens to me?"
Shadowy Figure pulls up the blowdart gun and fires off another dart into his neck. Bro flips over two undamaged Sburb envelopes, and then a package besides. As Sam slips into unconsciousness, "Do have fun out there, baby bro."
Sam will wake up later on right outside the house, faceplanting into his foam weapon. And the petunias.
Ben picks up the package and quickly removes the packaging revealing a neon orange foam sword, freakin' sweet! Before putting it in the sylladex he looks at it and then his mother who is walking toward the kitchen, and thinks about whacking her over the head with it. That's not a good idea, obviously, but he finds himself doing it anyway. He manages to stop himself, the foam sword hovering over her head, and with any less self-constraint he would have done it. Still...it would be hilarious...and the sword is still in perfect whacking position...

Evan drops the packages in his sylladex before heading back to his room to examine them. Don't particularly want to run into his cousin again, and the longer he stays out there, the higher his chances.
Sis starts to play catch with her new buddy, careful not to get herself hurt. The show is starting in just a few minutes.
"You better hurry. If you miss a minute of it, you know you'll be sorry."

"Huh, those must be the games finally arriving, but what the hell is that?" Nick wonders, surveying the large package beneath what he assumes to be the beta discs. "I guess I'll worry about that in a second. NRS, do you feel like cooperating with my captchaloging? Cause I'm tossing a few discs your way and they need protecting!" Nick attempts to captchalogue the green and white envelopes before turning his attention to the package, which he gives the classic "present treatment" of light shaking and rattling. Inspection without destruction, that's every kid's dogma during the holidays. A little shaky shaky won't hurt? Is it even addressed to Nick? Who cares, it's a mystery box and the curiosity has already grown bored of cat hunting.

Yup, no relevant answer there.
