First, if this is in the wrong thread, please move it! I apologize for any inconveniences!
I am the DM of a horror based D&D game that is being run on another site. I would have posted this there, but I don't want my players somehow reading it and figured this was a safer location for that. Hopefully none of them secretly are on MTGSally. Anyways, my question is that of my villain. The setting of the world is one in which there are only two races, Humans and their slaves, Elves. The villain is a vampire, the only one ever in the campaign setting. So, he's got some mystical monster scare factor involved. I was going to use the Grey Vampire base race, perhaps with some slight modifications, as it gave a decent explanation as to why he's not just breeding an army of vampires. I was also going to have him be a Dread Vampire, as it's kind of awesome and scary.
The question is, what should his other class be? I'm open to pretty much anything, as long as it's scary. I was thinking some sort of sangromancer style mage. Not one who uses their own blood to power up their spells, but one who can manipulate blood in general. I've not been able to find a class similar to this so far, although I have found several blood based ones. Does anyone know of any that might fit my needs? And, as I said, I will take all suggestions.
Hey there, I figured I'd toss in a few ideas for you since no one else has yet.
I know of two classes that have anything to do with blood, The Blood Mage from Complete Arcane, and the Lifedrinker from Book of Vile Darkness.
Blood Mage I cant give you much description of aside from they are almost pure spellcasters, however the lifedrinker I have seen in action before and they are a beast. They basically turn your Vampire into a bloodthirsty Barbarian type class, who absorbs its preys' blood, and through it, can use a few special abilities. Anywhere from a variation of Barbarian Rage, Ignoring the effects of Sunlight for a short time(i think), and more.
Hopefully this was helpful, and good luck on your adventure.
