Whitney nods as she visibly relaxes her body. "I wouldn't have it any other way...but be careful to not get lost. If you feel overwhelmed, try something drastic and I will be able to pull you out."
While it's comforting that the girl trusts Shirin to pan around in her brain, something about what she said concerned her. Still...she would be in control. And that made her feel safer about what she was about to do. Even without having started the spell, she could sense that Whitney's mental defenses were being taken down temporarily.
Her heartbeat sped up. Was she sure she was ready for this?

Even if she wasn't ready, she had to. The only path Shirin could take that moment, was the one that pleased Whitney. She set her mind to work, reaching out with long tendrils of thought to probe Whitney's mind, gain a foothold from which she could leap into that vast ocean of thought and knowledge. Without, of course, letting herself get overwhelmed... Shirin hoped she could.
Shirin closed her eyes and started poking around cautiously, trying to find a solid foundation before plunging deeper. Whitney's surface thoughts were easily sensed, and nothing that was unexpected: a general sense of wary optimism, trusting shirin despite her inexperience. Accompanying that was a mix of similarly mundane emotions - a tinge of cynicism, marginal senses of regret, and a swirl of other thoughts about normal subjects. It took some time but as she became acclimated to the sensation. Gathering her courage, the budding witch sprung off into the deeper recesses of whitney's mind.
What she found was much stranger. Large metal chains swung from the mental image of the blonde girl's mind, restricting her movement as she tries to navigate her way. what she could piece together, there was a lot she wanted to keep locked up, even from Shirin. Large blue orbs pulsed with energy, their apparent power intimidating the Iranian-American as she continued in another direction. Something caught her eye, sparkling in the gloom...a kind of small chest, glowing with rosy light. If only she had a key...or maybe whitney could unlock it for her?

Shirin was attracted to the chest, she felt an invisible chain pull her towards it. Her mind screamed for her to resist, but at the same time sought a way to unlock it. But... in a realm of thought, was it not thought that could unlock anything, like a dreamer could steer his own dream with the necessary amount of willpower? She thought then of nothing more than the opening of the lock, pouring her will into the apparent keyhole as if it were acid that melted through the metal.
As Shirin concentrated, a viscuous fluid appeared on top of the chest, eroding away the lock with acidic fire. Inwardly she smiled - it seemed easier than she could have imagined. Acting on pure instinct, the young woman opened the chest, revealing a strange ball, about the size of a baseball, that radiated the same pink glow she had seen before. She moved to touch it, only for the orb to vaporize, disintregrating into a fine powder that swriled about the "room" with the frenzy of a wild windstorm. The dusty stuff had a strangely sweet scent, but almost overpoweringly so. And then something else happened.
The room began to shake, like there was an earthquake occuring underneath Shirin's feet. She could barely move, let alone try to find cover. The metal chains whipped around wildly, any one of them capable of dealing a nasty blow if she allowed them to connect with her head. Part of her was genuinely terrified, wanting to do anythign to escape this deranged place. But another part was engrossed with curiosity...she wanted to know *why* it was happening. Did the powder cause this? What happened to it, anyway? And why did Shirin have this feeling of a chain insdie her mind about to break?
