Just after voicing his question, Solace realizes that any recent human smell in the sewer would probably be the boy. "Well, someone smells very unhappy in there. I'd check... but, I'm rather busy at the moment..." Solace thinks for a moment, allowing them to pet him. He marks the spot in the same way he had used earlyer. "Just be carefull, ok?" Solace rubs once against their hands, then turns, and jumps down the open sewer acess. (And trys to land on one of the walkways that tends to be down there.) Solace is briefly but intensely jealous of the human ability to simply scrub things derectily off of their skins; a sewer is not a good place to posess long fur. Solace tries to figure which way they had gone.
Damien: >>Sure of course you can!<< Damien tumbles in from the temporal distortion. He lands in a stone courtyard full of statues of large humans with bears and swords. In the center of the fountain roars a 10 foot tall fountain, with water spraying 50 feet in the air or more. The sky is dark and stars speckle it. A girl with medium length blonde hair is hunched over by the fountain. She is apparently sobbing. The courtyard is surrounded on three sides by huge walls with many windows, towering buttresses extend from the wall tops. It appears to be some sort of castle. The fourth side of the courtyard is a balcony looking out over the sprawling city of Ordan. The courtyard is otherwise unoccupied except for the girl. Just as Damien arrives, the girl picks up a dagger from the side of the well and with trembling hands raises it high, pointing it towards her heart….
Dabura: >>Yeah that would be the armors doing<< The gust of wind knocks the guard to the ground in a flurry of dust and rock. The crowd recoils a bit and gives a suppressed cheer. The guard stands up again and detaches the buckler from the chain with the flick of his wrist. He whips the chain back to himself and attaches a small hook. With one hand he whirls the chain (it is about 4 feet long right now) and the other the sword. He then charges at Dabura with a growl, whipping the chain ahead of him in a 6 feet arc (the chain can extend a bit).
Solace: The girls give a sad goodbye which you barely here is you leap into the sewers. You barely land on a thin walkway made of a few pipes. The stench is purely rancid, mixed with rot, decay, and other unspeakable smells. You are in a 25 by 25 by 25 yard cubical room. Below you is a drop about the size of an elephant, and the walls are all a few wagons length from the walkway. The walls are dotted with small pipes no larger than a shield and large ones which could accommodate a person on their knees pouring brackish water into the room. The walkway is simply suspended alone, with both sides extending into the walls and ending. However, in the middle is a small piece which sticks out over the water with a rope dangling in front of it, about 15 feet above the water . A sign on a nearby pipe says in fading print “Rope down only! 10 foot drop into water at bottom of rope! Water deep so fall will not hurt! One Way Trip Only!” The rope ends above the water. Once you are in the water it seems there would really be no way out. The water looks foul and a few ripples indicate the presence of something. On the ground next to Solace is a small, golden pendant, not at all dirty. The smell of the human is wafting up from somewhere below, although it is quite muddled by the waters smell.
Blade and Tat: “They be terrible swimmers!!” The man shrieks as he dodges the trolls swipes. He reloads and fires again. It hits the troll and he roars, attempting to trample Blade and swinging his tail at Tat.

Dabure: The scroll ignites, and the guard bursts into flames. He runs around in circles in agony. The man with the book frowns and opens his book. He points his finger at the guard. "Mora," he hisses. The guard clutches his chest and opens his mouth. He coughs up blood and his eyes steam. He falls over dead.
"No time for such weak men." The mage walks towards Dabura.
"You are an interesting one my birdlike friend. Perhaps we shall meet again later. For now, I shall report this incident to the Commandant." He opens his book and screams "Dissipa!" A jet of light appears from the sky and strikes him as he dissapears in a flash.
The crowd applauds lightly and goes back to their work, a few shake the Avens 'hands.'
"That was spectacular sir! Where on earth did you learn all that?" the merchant asks.

The Lieutenant looked around for a bit, finally replying in a serious tone.
"I've been in my share of war, fighting for order and justice, but mainly defending those who need the help...I used to be in command of a great brigade of aven soldiers...Of course that was ages ago, they were slaughtered...long ago."

Solace: The rat pokes his head above the water. "What is you want manling!? Er...Foxling!? Go past hmmmm....I sees Maskling jump in water and swim quick quick down that way tunnel!" He gestures frantically towards a half submerged pipe on water level.
"But I warnin' you Foxling, you be in Ratling territory now! Maskling dangerous, we no touch 'im. But you make tasty snack for me friends. Me full so you can go now." He dives back under the water and goes back to whatever he was doing.
Dabura: "Oh of course...I will not prod your past. Short walk to the District then we part ways as I must go pick up my shipment. I assume we are going to different parts of the dock but you can ask the Dock watch when we get there." The merchant walks over the bridge as a group of guards come up and pick up the body. They glare at Dabura and one spits, but they merely drag off their dead companion and leave the Aven be.
On the other side of the bridge, the Merchant bows. "Well we part ways. Until next time. By the way. The name is Murdock, Murdock the Merchant. Hope to see you soon my bird friend!" He waves and walks off down a stairwell into the ground. The district is covered in huge warehouses, and large cranes dangle around with many boxes and crates. A small tower nearby with a few armed men has a large sign near it that says "Dockwatch B."
Solace looks at the pipe, and sighs heavily. Of course, it would have to actually go into the water... Solace thinks disgustedly. I suppose my only consolation is that while foxes can smell better, they also don't mind smelly things nearly as much. And if this is how bad it smells to me now... well, at least those rat things won't be much of a problem. There's no way they can be resistant to hypnosis... Well, I'd better check first. If they are, I'll be in serious trouble. "Hey, rat thing..." Solace concentrates, and does his best to hypnotise the rat into agreeing with him, as well as diserning it's overall hypnosis resistance. "I'll probably need a guide. Will you show me around, just for a bit?" Solace's conscience started to tweak him, but he reminded it sharply that the rat had threatened to eat him, after all.
Dabura flapped his wings hard, swooping up the tower until he was hovering a few feet away from the armed men.

Yeah, Solace can't really hypnotise most people like that, but those rats, from how that one acted, seem to be the single easyest thing to hypnotise.
Solace looks at the feted water with supreme distaste. I really need to start minding my own buisness... Solace is about to jump, but decides to first grab the medalion (I assume it's small enough for a fox to carry it). Who knows, it may be important, and if I leave it here, the only thing that'll find it would be one of those rats. Solace: The rat leads you onwards, through the water like a serpent. The pipe is extremely dark, but the pendnant you picked up emnates a faint light when held above the water. The smell is quite terrible, but it also smells like you are on the right trail. A few pipes occasionally spill water into the tunnel, mixed with other...waste. The ratling leads Solace down the pipe down a fast moving waterfall at a 30 degree angle.
"Hang on foxling, this be long fall. Safe but long. Fun fun too!" The ratling says as he plummets over the falls into a huge chamber with many other pipes spilling into it.
"Weeeee." He screams as he falls. You are about five feet from the tunnel exit with a tiny little ledge to your immediate right which you could probably reach if you wanted too. Other than that, there is no turning back really.
Dabura: After a 5 minute walk you arrive at the end of the docks, after making your way through veritable canyons of rope, crates and warehouses. The sea is before you, stretched out and beutiful. Solace: After a long fall you land in a pile of goo. Its not water, rather a thick albeit bouyant and soft sludge which covers the room. It seems deep but it really is hard to tell. One thing is for sure, its quite foul and god knows what its made of. The Ratling is already at another tunnel a short swim away.
"See this?" He holds up a tatter of cloth caught on a jagged pipe near the entrance of the tunnel. "Smells like oil, smells like Maskling! Quick quick, we gaining!" The ratling emerges from the sludge and crouches on all fours in the tunnel. he then scampers off. The tunnel is long and narrow with a slight slope. Water pours out of it. Falls of water pour inside the tunnel although the majority of the tunnel has many drains in the ground. It is relatively smoothe but the smell is worse than ever. Solace: The rat twists and turns down numerous passages, constantly leading upwards. You hear the sound of grinding machinery grow slowly louder and louder as you go, mingled with the flow of water and the scamper of his paws. He occasionally stops and looks back to make sure you are following. He then stops. The pipe continues onwards, but only the bottom half. The top is gone, revealing another enormous room full of gears and machines belching steam.
"The boiler rooms yes?" the ratling scampers onto the pipes and squels in joy. "Look Foxling look over there!!" He waves frantically up at the gears. A robed figure carrying a body is riding them upwards to another catwalk far above.
"The Maskling is there! You go gets him...I cuts him off I thinks!" The ratling bounds over the edge of the pipe and dissapears. Ahead of Solace is a maze of chains and gears, although they could all be ridden upwards to the robed man where he is ascending. Blasts of steam which look quite hot occasionally issue from vents and pipes.
Dabura: The ship has a large hull made of dark iron. The deck has two cabins atop it with many protrusions and chimenys. Steam and smoke seethes from them. The deck is almost empty, although an opening which looks like a large loading bay on the side of the boat is rife with activity as sailors. "Hey, be carefull!" Solace calls to the ratling. "Don't chalenge it derectly, I'm pretty sure you can't take it." (It's aimed only at him, so the maskling won't hear.) Solace felt somewhat responsable for the ratling, and besides, he still needed to get out. Solace straps the bottom of the medalion to him with a grown vine (so it won't flap around, or fall off), and leaps from gear to gear toward the maskling. (Solace can move far quicker than the maskling in an environ like this, even if it wasn't dragging a captive.)
