Now, given that the first five Arms Races have gone pretty well, I want to throw an added element into this sixth one (given that the players/sign-up are interested). Akin to a first-person shooter, there will be slight changes:
(New ideas in bold, please comment or make feedback.)
- When a player is killed, they will wait a day before respawning. A penalty will be imposed for each death you incur.
- When a player respawns, they will be pretty much at a fresh restart, minus civilians. (One round loaded, guard queue cleared)
- Each time a player scores a kill, it will be recorded and treated as a score.
- If two players attempt to kill the same person one night, the first PM I get receives the score/credit for the kill. Notice: If multiple players desecrate a civ, each of them gets IB.
- Players receive five civilians at the start. Guard chains still max at three. - If you reach an Innocent Blood limit (IB = 5), you will be removed from the game. IB does not carry over through deaths.
- Time limit is X days, based on what sounds good.
- Remember, Machine Gun is effectively pointless here, unless you want to be sure about breaking that Guard.
Scoring: 3 points per kill, X points lost per death, X being the number of deaths.Notice: There is no negative score, so rejoice.
If that's cool with those interested, post here to sign up and give me feedback on this alternate-realm Arms Race variant.
There should be a penalty of -points for a death. Otherwise, a player could just be entirely suicidal. I'm thinking a player should get -1 for the first death, -2 for the second, and so on.
Some of you may have been in shock since we invaded Canada and Mexico, but fear not, it was for a good cause. Now that we conrol North America, we produce an extra 5 armies a turn.^_^

Three transport copters and two black boats zip towards the battlefield. They drop off the seven players for our game, and leave as fast as they came.
The seven players begin to plot. Anarchy, alliance, acquaintance, adversary, alliteration ensues.
SumPhatGuy takes the initiative, planting a land mine in Some One's tent. As he steps out, kpaca questions SumPhatGuy's intentions, but SumPhatGuy brushes off the issue, whistling conspicuously. kpaca, figuring this is as good a time as any, lines the bed with poison, making sure he himself doesn't touch the poison.
Emo_Pinata idles there for a bit, along with ced395. At least, their look-alikes. Commissioned for Day I, they use their first defensive civilian to distract everyone while sleeping soundly. Some One decides it's best to return to his tent at this point and take a nap.
As Some One enters his tent, Tanarin bursts in and empties a single round into Some One's temple. Some One collapses onto the bed, where the mine goes off, splattering poison all over the corpse. Tanarin scoffs; beaten to the punch, I guess.
Edghyatt, oblivious to all of this action, heads off to Station Seven, the Chamber, and loads up for the night. As he heads back, Some One waves at him. Apparently, he sent in a civilian double to his tent to trick everyone.
Status will be updated shortly. Three people targeting the same person, awesome. Too bad he civ'd.
You have ~28 hours to send your moves for Day II (about 1PM EST, 1/29/09).
1) SumPhatGuy - Shoot Some One
2) kpaca - Shoot Some One
3) Emo_Pinata - Use Civilian
4) ced395 - Use Civilian
5) Some One - Use Civilian
6) Tanarin - Shoot Some One
7) Edghyatt - Load
After an uneventful night of blasting a civilian corpse, the players retire to their beds. Four hours later, a campwide klaxon goes off. Emo_Pinata is the first to awake, grabbing his weapon and exiting swiftly from his tent.
Emo_Pinata runs past an Edghyatt facsimile, planted there for no previously apparent reason. For the most part, it seems the real Edghyatt will sleep through this alarm.
Meanwhile, ced395 and SumPhatGuy look around. They figure chaos is the perfect time to do the one thing they must: load. They both hurry off to the Chamber, grab a round, load it, and hustle back to the camp double time. (Surprisingly, neither turned to fire on the other.)
Some One exits his tent as ced395 and SumPhatGuy return from the Chamber. Some One is clad in stunning golden armor. He proclaims himself Gilgamesh above all the alarms, apparently ignoring the fact that something is going on. After all, he is protected if someone opens fire on the great king.
Tanarin quickly dodges by crazed stagehands, running for their lives like headless chickens. He follows a fresh path of footprints to the Chamber and loads up, figuring it's best to be prepared when the unprepared occurs.
Tanarin decides to go back to the camp on a different path, avoiding Emo_Pinata entirely. (Well, they wouldn't know that until now, I guess.)
kpaca awakens, hearing the alarm. He pulls out a book labeled "What to Do In Armageddon?" Flipping through the pages, he finds the chapter on "Alarms that May Signify the End of the Earth, A Breach by Hostiles, or Other Assorted Cases." kpaca spends twenty seconds finding his course of action, hurrying off to the Chamber with weapon in hand.
All seems well as kpaca hustles up the path. Emo_Pinata jumps out of the bushes, and they both stare each other down for three seconds before pulling their weapons.
Round(s) is/are fired. Body(ies) collapse(s).
Emo_Pinata bends down to the corpse of kpaca, smiles, and flips out a remote, pressing a button. The klaxons immediately cease, and Emo_Pinata hurries back to camp, the first blood of the game drawn. (Well, one can argue this based on the poor civilian that got killed thrice, but we can define the semantics of first blood later.)
Stagehand sentries rush out and pick up kpaca's corpse, bringing him to the Respawn Point.
kpaca, Emo_Pinata has knocked you out. You will respawn on Day Four.
The other players, you have 32 hours (approximately 9:00PM EST, 1/30) to send your move.
The morning comes. Sunlight filters through the dewdrops from a freshly fallen rain. Of blood.
After Day Two, most people went back to sleep, brushing off kpaca's untimely death. Emo_Pinata, scoffing at these slow-goers, hurries off to the Chamber to get a fresh start and something to fire with. (After all, it'd be quite embarrassing and stinky to use your poo to fire at a target. Hilarious and monkey-like? Yes. Kill-worthy? For you, at least.)
Edghyatt shuffles about in his tent, not yet ready to hit the sack. Just then, a bright light shoots into the tent, singeing Edghyatt's back. ced395 stands in the tent-way, stunned at the events.
The light apparently came from a phaser rifle held by SumPhatGuy, who made a clean shot on ced395's back. ced395 collapses to the ground, and quickly makes a last-ditch effort to drive a Swiss Army Knife into Edghyatt's heel. He makes a clean shank. On an automaton.
Edghyatt, a few yards away, relieves himself on the john.
Some One and Tanarin quickly awaken when the phaser rifle fire came about. They mutter and cuss about not getting enough sleep. Angered, they both head off to the Chamber and load up, prepping themselves to nail the next target that makes a noise.
ced395, *bang* --
Me: Look, I'm sorry if this is bugging you, but I need to finish up the day.
Some One: Finish it up quietly.
Tanarin: Yea. Sleep is good.
Me: *scoffs* You could've used a quieter starter pistol.
Tanarin: That's an oxymoron.
Me: Do you want to debate semantics?
Some One: *shakes head* Night.
Right, before I was rudely interrupted--
Tanarin: Just do it elsewhere!
Me: Ingrates.
--ced395, SumPhatGuy has laid a phat beat down on you. You will respawn on Day Five. kpaca, you have respawned for action on Day Four. Players, you have ~27 hours (9:30PM EST, 1/30) to submit your next move.
1) Emo_Pinata - Load
2) Edghyatt - Use Civilian
3) SumPhatGuy - Shoot ced395
4) ced395 - Shoot Edghyatt
5) Some One - Load
6) Tanarin - Load
With ced395 recuperating in the Respawn Hut, the remaining players wake to another day. kpaca, freshly returned to the game, decides to mend some bridges and hangs out with Some One, trying to get on his good side.
Some One merely stands there. kpaca realizes it's like talking to a brick wall. A thin, human-shaped brick wall. kpaca curses Some One's tricky capabilities and kicks the wall, stubbing his toe. Muttering about ice and some things, he snaps his fingers, calling forth a simulacrum to kick Some One's brick wall.
Emo_Pinata, meanwhile, decides it's best to lay low for now, but at least he's got his gun on hand. He decides to head for the tree line, where visibility towards him is low. As he finds a nice bush, he's surprised by Tanarin, who is also in the bush. A verbal argument ensues, about the ownership of the bush and who's the king of the forest. Emo_Pinata decides that Tanarin, like him, wants to lay low (and maybe relieve himself), so he retreats for now.
Emo_Pinata hurries through the brush and finds SumPhatGuy, who's twirling his revolver idly. Emo_Pinata scrtuinizes SumPhatGuy and finds the revolver to be a nicely-painted water pistol and SumPhatGuy an oversized stagehand. The real SumPhatGuy is sleeping away the day like a sloth in his tree--I mean, tent.
Emo_Pinata punches the SumPhatGuy double, knocking him to the ground. He reaches down when a bullet whizzes past. Emo_Pinata quickly dodges behind a tree. Edghyatt approaches the brush, rifle in hand. Emo_Pinata grabs a stone, flicks it away from his direction. In a classic attempt to deceive the hunter, Emo_Pinata quickly grabs the sheath on the SumPhatGuy double and hustles off.
Edghyatt fires again, but it is for naught, as the bullet squarely cuts an inch in the sheath, but not the Pinata.
ced395, you've respawned for Day 5 action. Players, you have ~34 hours (8:30PM EST, 1/31) to send your next move.
1) Some One - Use Civilian
2) kpaca - Use Civilian
3) Emo_Pinata - Guard
4) Tanarin - Guard
5) SumPhatGuy - Use Civilian
6) Edghyatt - Shoot Emo_Pinata

And I didn't.;)
