Okay, with 15 submissions, the first 5CB of 2007 gets us off to a nice start. Magus of the Moon was the defining card of the round.
1 jcsuperstar - modular arithmetic
Black Lotus, Black Lotus, Magus of the Moon, Glowrider, Preacher Preacher was all but useless this round, but otherwise solid.
2 Knowledge - Bah-Roken.dec.
Black Lotus, Black Lotus, Glowrider, Ray of Revelation, Preacher Ray of Revelation was terrible, but more significantly, the lack of Magus of the Moon killed your score.
3 Mogg - Thanks for bringing back 5CB
Kodama of the North Tree, Aura of Silence, Soldevi Digger, Black Lotus, City of Traitors Solid, and a decent choice for the week.
4 Wrath_of_Dog - Artifactory
Mishra's Workshop, Mishra's Workshop, Crumbling Sanctuary, Darksteel Reactor, Mana Crypt Toomuchmana.dec. On the other hand, it was nice in the face of Magus of the Moon.
5 Tlaon - Crumbling Reactor
Mishra's Workshop, Crumbling Sanctuary, City of Traitors, Darksteel Reactor, Soldevi Digger Too disruptible. Anyone could use any kind of disruption going first or second and kill you. The Digger meant you could typically turn it into a race, though, which won you some points.
6 GlenNZ - Annoyed by the Void?
Voidstone Gargoyle, Black Lotus, Mox Sapphire, Mishra's Factory, Sheltered Valley Gargoyle was very nice. Your lands needs work, though.
7 Shadowlord - HelloBeastie.dec
Black Lotus, Black Lotus, Black Lotus, Yawgmoth's Will, Hunting Pack Hard to lose going first, but easy to disrupt going second. And almost everyone did.
8 Halinn - Workshop Variant #38
Mishra's Workshop, Anvil of Bogardan, Ensnaring Bridge, The Rack, Wheel of Torture I have nightmare's about calculating this deck. Wheel of Torture should have been something else, though.
9 chaosjuggler - Supershoal
Ornithopter, Greater Gargadon, Dragon Tyrant, Blazing Shoal, Blazing Shoal This seems strictly worse than Shadowlord's deck. More vulnerable to discard and removal, but all the same weaknesses.
10 r_x_ - Tool Box FTW!
Black Lotus, Glowrider, Magus of the Moon, Plains, Windborn Muse Windborn Muse doesn't seem like the ideal choice for an anticreature slot. How about Magus of the Tabernacle?
11 andelijah - andelijah
Island, Foil, Basking Rootwalla, Black Lotus, Magus of the Moon Great deck. Really. It's the weakness to Pack that holds it back, I think. Nevertheless, I was surprised that Foil didn't see more play.
12 Chimpanzee - A Barrel of Monkeys
Forest, Mox Emerald, Treetop Village, Powder Keg, Eladamri's Vineyard Nice deck, but it seems like it ought to be more mana efficient. You're making way too sure that you have a G.
13 The Mad Tapper - Three Land and a Maybe
Goblin Welder, Darksteel Reactor, Great Furnace, Mercadian Bazaar, Maze of Ith Reactor is slow, and you have no disruption for anything but exactly one targetable creature. Welder can probably be amazing, but not like this.
14 SumPhatGuy - Peace of Cheese.dec
Black Lotus, Black Lotus, Black Lotus, Barren Glory, Peace Talks Very nice. Stronger going second than a whole bunch of 4/4's. There might still be room for improvement on the mana, though.
15 Meat Popsicle - Is This Any Good?.dec
Black Lotus, Black Lotus, Black Lotus, Barren Glory, Misguided Rage Misguided Rage is probably not the card you want.

The deadline for next week will be Thursday, Oct. 4 at 3PM EST. Results will be posted before the end of the following Saturday.
Next week is obviously going to be the beginning of a new month, and a good time to start doing POTM points. Here's how I'm thinking of doing it: I'm going to subtract a single POTM point from each participant for each time his exact deck has been submitted before the current week. I will keep track of the decks that have been played and keep them in a spoiler in the first post of every week for easy reference, alphabetically organized.
The reason for this is because, first of all, yes, I have that much time on my hands, and second, I am not too interested in calculating the same decks over and over every week. This game should be more than just a study in metagaming, and I intend to to do what I can to make it that way. I think this will still keep the metagame important, while still keeping the format fresh every week.
What?! Look at the initial post; he is dead. Deceased. Kaputt. Indefinitely horizontal. In mafia games, you see, people are occasionally "killed off," and when that sad event occurs, he or she is no longer allowed to post, on account of rigor mortis and what-have-you.
'Welcome to Mafia Salvation', it said, 'Population: 3,660.' And someone, they never figured out who, had painted on the sign in red letters: '1,831 to lynch.'
12 Chimpanzee - A Barrel of Monkeys
Forest, Mox Emerald, Treetop Village, Powder Keg, Eladamri's Vineyard
vs
5 Tlaon - Crumbling Reactor
Mishra's Workshop, Crumbling Sanctuary, City of Traitors, Darksteel Reactor, Soldevi Digger
Listed as 0-6
Should be 6-0
Crumbling Sanctuary doesn't prevent mana burn. Mana burn is loss of life, so he dies to Vineyard.
Mogg (3) vs. Shadowlord (7) Currently 0-6, should be 3-3 Going first, I play Aura of Silence, which makes his Black Lotuses cost more than he can pay.
Mogg (3) vs. chaosjuggler (9) Currently 0-6, should be 6-0 Regardless of who goes first, I’ll use Aura of Silence to kill his Ornithopter, or make him unable to play it.
Mogg (3) vs. r_x_ (10) Currently 6-0, should be 3-3 Going first, r_x_ drops Magus of the Moon and I have no response.

GlenNZ vs jcsuperstar - modular arithmetic
Black Lotus, Black Lotus, Magus of the Moon, Glowrider, Preacher
Is: 3-3
Should be: 4-1
Voidstone Gargoyle shuts down Preacher on the draw, so I simply sit there and don't race. My 3/3 is too big for his guys to handle when attacking. (Glowrider + Magus doesn't stop me from playing the Gargoyle)
GlenNZ vs Knowledge - Bah-Roken.dec.
Black Lotus, Black Lotus, Glowrider, Ray of Revelation, Preacher
Is: 2-2
Should be: 6-0
Gargoyle shuts down preacher on the Play OR on the draw, and I win the race handily.
(Stops activated abilities)
GlenNZ vs Chimpanzee - A Barrel of Monkeys
Forest, Mox Emerald, Treetop Village, Powder Keg, Eladamri's Vineyard
Is: 4-1
Should be: 6-0
I drop Voidstone Gargoyle naming Powder Keg, use Mishra's Factory as a mana sink/attacker, and beat him to death with the Gargoyle. He can do 3 per turn if he attacks with Treetop; I swing back for 5 and gain 1 life. This applies on the P and on the D.

4 Wrath_of_Dog - Artifactory
Mishra's Workshop, Mishra's Workshop, Crumbling Sanctuary, Darksteel Reactor, Mana Crypt
Was: 0-6 Is: 3-3
Going first I play glowrider and magus. This gives him 2 mountains and a mana crypt, which adds up to 4 mana. Glowrider makes santuary cost 6 and reactor cost 5. He can't play either of them.

3CB and 4CB5CB!Mogg (3) vs. Shadowlord (7)
Currently 0-6, should be 3-3
Going first, I play Aura of Silence, which makes his Black Lotuses cost more than he can pay.
Mogg (3) vs. chaosjuggler (9)
Currently 0-6, should be 6-0
Regardless of who goes first, I’ll use Aura of Silence to kill his Ornithopter, or make him unable to play it.
Mogg (3) vs. r_x_ (10)
Currently 6-0, should be 3-3
Going first, r_x_ drops Magus of the Moon and I have no response.
Mogg (3) vs. Meat Popsicle
Currently 2-2, should be 6-0
Going first, I’ll drop Aura of Silence to prevent him from playing Black Lotus.
When I’m second, he has two options. First, he can play all his cards on turn one, in which case I kill Barren Glory with Aura of Silence and win. Alternatively, he can hold Misguided Rage. If he does this, I’ll play Black Lotus, City of Traitors, Soldevi Digger. If he plays Misguided Rage now, I’ll sacrifice Black Lotus and get it back during my upkeep to play Aura of Silence and win. If he holds Misguided Rage, I’ll untap, and play Kodama of the North Tree. Now if he plays Misguided Rage, I’ll sacrifice Kodama and get back Black Lotus during upkeep to play Aura of Silence and kill his Barren Glory, and then I can recur Kodama and keep beating. No matter what he does, I can kill his Barren Glory before he untaps with no cards in hand and still be able to play Kodama of the North Tree.
My final adjusted score should be 63.
