Sorry about the delay. A school thing came up.
Before we start, just thought I'd let you know that you can go to TheManaDrain to enter in their 3CB Here. They're hurting for players, so please, play both!
ANNOUNCEMENTS
The 3CB Site Has MOVED!!! I have purchased my own domain name & such. The new site is at http://3cb.DratItAll.com. The basementdwellers site is still up for now, but it is not updated and I will soon be taking the files off of there and save him some space. Thanks again to basementdwellers for hosting
I will be disqualifying myself from this month's and all future POTMs. It's no fun if I win, and I seem to have won half of them if you count this month (which I won't be). As such, unless there are errors in this week's 3CB, the player of the month should be Greebo! Greebo, if he wants his POTM prize, may PM me with his adress.

Banned Decks:
*Any deck that can feasibly force your opponent to discard more than 1 card a turn. (The word force here is important. Mind Bomb is still legal, unless combined with Mindslaver ) (NOTE: Remove-From-Hand effects count as discarding)
*Any deck that can feasibly win on the first turn.
The Next Tournament
The next tournament starts right now and will be tabulated on the closing day. Entries will be closed Mar 13, 2005 at midnight PST and results will be posted soon thereafter
THE NEXT TOURNAMENT WILL BE A SPECIAL FORMAT!!! BACKBUILD!
Instead of creating your own deck, you'll be creating the deck that everyone else plays against you!
Your deck must include:
A way to cast all the cards in its hand (being able to cast one card and then not the other is not okay; Black Lotus/Glowrider/Pox is banned)
A way to win the game (Saprazzan Cove/Confiscate/Energy Field is banned).
A way to remove some type of permanent and/or card in hand.
The deck must be able to cast all three cards and still win (Mishra's Workshop/Ensnaring Bridge/Steel Golem is banned)
If you're unsure of a deck's legality, ask me.
PLAYER OF THE MONTH DETAILS
Ways to get points:
+X points for each point you get in a 3CB tournament (i.e. if you get 30 points in a tournament, you get 30 POTM points)
+10 points for winning a "Coolest Deck" title (I will no longer be eligible for this)
+5 points for winning a "Coolest Deck Name" title (I will no longer be eligible for this)
If you have any questions about this format, about the rules, or simply want to see some statistics about the game, visit www.basementdwellers.com/3cb The 3CB page!
On the page, you'll find this week's format, links to all the 3CB's, and all-time rankings.
[-----------------------------] POTM TROPHY THINGAMAJIGGER
I realized that I'd never seen a Trivia/Games/Contests thread give out real-world prizes for their online games. I thought it might be interesting to try out.
So, every POTM winner will recieve (assuming they're willing to give me their adress) a customized 3CB trophy. It will be a card from my collection which somehow fits you and will have written on it "3CB POTM WINNER!" and the date.
It's nothing you could sell on eBay but it should be fun nonetheless.
(I'm still working on these)

Also, everyone, Listen Up:

Explain Why
I'd sincerely appreciate all suggestions being in that format. Having the decklist of what I'm correcting in the post makes things 100% easier for me. Thanks.
ANYway,
Feel free to discuss this week's and next week's 3CB in this thread and post any questions you may have! Good Luck!
Spock is not portrayed correctly. If Vulcans are above petty emotions, what motivates him to join the most elite starship crew in the galaxy? I, on the other hand, have transcended the weakness of emotion and achieved a blissful lack of caring. Apathy is my strength, our strength, which prevents us from being all-to-human. In this spirit, may Meh be with you, always.
That long an entry time, and I still forget to enter?!?! I guess it was the computer trouble and Spring Break. Oh well. Next week looks like a fun format.

I go first:
Me: Drop Everything
Hivemaster: Drop RMP
Me (18): Swing
Hivemaster (15): Drop Sentry
Me (16): Swing
Hivemaster (10): Can't outrace me.
I go second:

M (14)
H (11) Once again, I outrace him.
Me VS eepeeguy (8)
eepeeguy: Bridge, Workshop, RMP
Current Score: 2-2
Suggested Score: 6-0
Once again, because of my valley, I can outrace his RMP, and if he doesn't drop the Bridge, I can swing.
Me Vs SorryGuy (29)
SorryGuy: Sphere, Tongs, Workshop
Current Score: 3-3
Suggested Score: 4-1
The Valley negates Tongs damage.
Me Vs Nazdakka (35)
Nazdakka: LoM, LoM, Sphere of Resistance
Current Score: 3-3
Suggested Score: 4-1
I can still play my LoM, and thus he can't deal damage to me.

No, no he didn't.
BtW Greebo, I haven't given up yet. I'll be checking to see if you got points you didn't deserve ;).
There seems to be some confusion on the format. Billking seemed to sum it up pretty well.
One thing to remember: Your deck wants to win. It will try to win. You just have to make it bad enough that it won't.
jcsuperstar: Sorry, no. Narrow removal is fine, but that's a bit over-the-top.

Me: Black Lotus, Anurid Scavenger, Regress
Against Hivemaster (City of Traitors, Soldevi Sentry, Rack me Plz)
Supposed Score: 0-6
Should be: 6-0
Basically, it comes down to this: He can't attack with the Sentry and if I play right, the Scavenger deals more damage than his Rack
On the play:
Me: Lotus, Scavenger
He: City, Rack
M: Go to 18, Recur Lotus, Play Lotus, Attack to 17
H: City Sentry (Eot, I bounce the Rack)
M: Recur Lotus, Attack to 14
H: Attack to 17, Play Rack
M: Go to 15, Recur Regress, Play Lotus, Attack to 11
H: Sit and wait (Eot, I bounce the Rack)
M: Recur Lotus
H: Play Rack
M: Go to 13, Recur Regress, Play Lotus, Attack to 8
=> Repeat the last 4 steps until I win.
On the draw:
He: City, Sentry
Me: Lotus, Scavenger
H: Rack
M: Go to 18, Recur Lotus, Play Lotus, Attack to 17
H: Sit and wait (Eot I bounce the Rack)
M: Recur Lotus
H: Play Rack
M: Go to 16, Recur Regress, Play Lotus, Attack to 14
=> Repeat the last 4 steps until I win.
Oh, crap. Bouncing rack at END OF TURN. Duh. You might want to check the rest of your Rack matchups, too (I know, pain. sorry)

Yeap, that you do. Whether you go first or second, I'll end up losing the damage race in this one.
GB, Can I submit other decks with gimmick accounts? I had soo many fun decks for this format.

Well, this round is bringing up some rather interesting problems. Do I settle for a Turn 80-something win, with no chance of any threat removal (okay, slim chance), or go for a Turn...well, a much higher turn count with threat removal.
Awww. COme on GB. Just because my first deck might just maybe be a Mise deck that convieniently meets the requirements. Why should that stop the rest of the fun?

POTM TROPHY THINGAMAJIGGER
I realized that I'd never seen a Trivia/Games/Contests thread give out real-world prizes for their online games. I thought it might be interesting to try out.
So, every POTM winner will recieve (assuming they're willing to give me their adress) a customized 3CB trophy. It will be a card from my collection which somehow fits you and will have written on it "3CB POTM WINNER!" and the date.
It's nothing you could sell on eBay but it should be fun nonetheless.
(I'm still working on these)

Also, everyone, Listen Up:
New format for suggesting corrections:
I'd sincerely appreciate all suggestions being in that format. Having the decklist of what I'm correcting in the post makes things 100% easier for me. Thanks.
ANYway,
Feel free to discuss this week's and next week's 3CB in this thread and post any questions you may have! Good Luck!
-Goblinboy
It would probably be better if it was explained like this:
Lose-Lose = 6 pts
Draw-Lose = 5 pts
Draw-Draw = 4 pts
Win-Lose = 3 pts
Win-Draw = 2 pts
Win-Win = 0 pts
In other words, build the worst deck you can (within the rules)!
Unless I'm mistaken, 2 draws still equals 2 points, Draw-Lose is 4, Win-Draw is 1.

Me: Sheltered Valley, LoM, RMP
Hivemaster: City, Soldevi Sentry, RMP
Current Score: 0-6
Suggested Score: 6-0
I go first:
Hivemaster: Drop RMP
Me (18): Swing
Hivemaster (15): Drop Sentry
Me (16): Swing
Hivemaster (10): Can't outrace me.
Me: Drop Everything
Hivemaster: Drop RMP
Me (18)
H (17)
M (16)
H (14)
M (14)
H (11) Once again, I outrace him.
Me VS eepeeguy (8)
eepeeguy: Bridge, Workshop, RMP
Current Score: 2-2
Suggested Score: 6-0
Once again, because of my valley, I can outrace his RMP, and if he doesn't drop the Bridge, I can swing.
Me Vs SorryGuy (29)
SorryGuy: Sphere, Tongs, Workshop
Current Score: 3-3
Suggested Score: 4-1
The Valley negates Tongs damage.
Me Vs Nazdakka (35)
Nazdakka: LoM, LoM, Sphere of Resistance
Current Score: 3-3
Suggested Score: 4-1
I can still play my LoM, and thus he can't deal damage to me.
Point change: +12 Dusk_, -6 Hivemaster, -2 eepeeguy, -2 SorryGuy, -2 Nazdakka.
EDIT: Unless I some of these wrongs, I just realized that I'm 1 point ahead of Greebo :o.
btw, this should be the hardest-to-caculate format eeeevvveeerrr
By the way...ugh. I did terribly. Hopefully I can do better this week.:)
That's how to remember my name. Or, you could just read the Discworld Novels by Terry Pratchett. I recommend the second method.:)
And dear god, it's on the INTERNET! It has to be true!
...riight.
I'm also assuming conditional attack cards like Gaea's Liege and Veiled Serpent don't work.

Do you mean No way to win the game?
No, no he didn't.
BtW Greebo, I haven't given up yet. I'll be checking to see if you got points you didn't deserve ;).
One thing to remember: Your deck wants to win. It will try to win. You just have to make it bad enough that it won't.
jcsuperstar: Sorry, no. Narrow removal is fine, but that's a bit over-the-top.
Yep.
True 'nuff.
Trudat.
Crap. I thought I went back and changed them all when I thought of this. Apparently not.
Oh, crap. Bouncing rack at END OF TURN. Duh. You might want to check the rest of your Rack matchups, too (I know, pain. sorry)

19-8 to 6-0 19
19-29 to 4-1 19
19-35 to 4-1 19
34-5 to 6-0 34
I'll change these tomorrow.
-Goblinboy
Yeap, that you do. Whether you go first or second, I'll end up losing the damage race in this one.
Is bouncing ok ?
Aura Flux ?
Is it ok when play land-destruction ? Nonbasic LD ?
These are the decks that I have constructed, and are ready to play:
01. Ankh Sligh to be exact.

IE: Is a manaclash deck banned?
No longer staff here.
No Mise decks. That says it all. Manaclash is a Mise card.
