All ante cards
Any card that forces your opponent to discard more than 1 card a turn.
Any non-mass-produced card (Proposal, 1996 World Champion, etc.)
Unglued
Unhinged
Banned Decks:
*Any deck that can feasibly force your opponent to discard more than 1 card a turn. (The word force here is important. Mind Bomb is still legal, unless combined with Mindslaver ) (NOTE: Remove-From-Hand effects count as discarding)
*Any deck that can feasibly win on the first turn.
The Next Tournament
The next tournament starts right now and will be tabulated on the closing day. Entries will be closed Mar 6, 2005 at midnight PST and results will be posted soon thereafter
THE NEXT TOURNAMENT WILL BE A NORMAL FORMAT!!!
We haven't had a normal for at least two months. Time for a break. Created cards will start in two weeks
PLAYER OF THE MONTH DETAILS
Ways to get points:
+X points for each point you get in a 3CB tournament (i.e. if you get 30 points in a tournament, you get 30 POTM points)
+10 points for winning a "Coolest Deck" title (I will no longer be eligible for this)
+5 points for winning a "Coolest Deck Name" title (I will no longer be eligible for this)
If you have any questions about this format, about the rules, or simply want to see some statistics about the game, visit www.basementdwellers.com/3cb The 3CB page!
On the page, you'll find this week's format, links to all the 3CB's, and all-time rankings.
[-----------------------------] POTM TROPHY THINGAMAJIGGER
I realized that I'd never seen a Trivia/Games/Contests thread give out real-world prizes for their online games. I thought it might be interesting to try out.
So, every POTM winner (including, retroactively, Dusk_ and Fadeblue) will recieve (assuming they're willing to give me their adress) a customized 3CB trophy. It will be a card from my collection which somehow fits you and will have written on it "3CB POTM WINNER!" and the date.
It's nothing you could sell on eBay but it should be fun nonetheless.
(I'm still working on these)

Explain Why
I'd sincerely appreciate all suggestions being in that format. Having the decklist of what I'm correcting in the post makes things 100% easier for me. Thanks.
ANYway,
Feel free to discuss this week's and next week's 3CB in this thread and post any questions you may have! Good Luck!
im amazed I did that well. I just stole it from the 2nd article, thinking it swept because I forgot about the scepter deck. I'm definitely happy with the result, as opposed to
Mercadian Bazaar
Stalking Stones
Aftershock,
which would go 3-6-6-6-6. Guess with 37 players, 20 points isnt overwhelming =o
Lots of tech (well, some) I found while searching forever for the solution... was this the deck you were talking about, r_x?
Saprazzan Cove
Capsize
Memnarch(Mawcor comes really close too)
the card I was trying to break was Undiscovered Paradise, which dodges Ice.. couldnt do it though.
Really nice job on the win conditions though, whamme. you deserve a much higher spot.
Oh, and I think we DEFINITELY should thank goblinboy for faithfully doing this every week for something like a year, and for putting up with calculating THIRTY SEVEN(!) matches. Thanks a lot, man.
I don't really understand why Words of Wind didn't seem to work in so many matchups, but my score's bad enough I can't be bothered challenging. :grin2:
Props to Goblinboy for all the processing !

How do i loose to the thalid-daze-tropical island deck?
If i go first, i obviously win.
when i go second, they cannot daze me bacause slug costs 5 mana and 2 lotus produce 6. and a 4/6 creature beats a thallid.
net result? +13 for zorbop

When you go second, the Thallid deck Dazes one of your Loti. Then you've only got one Lotus and a Slug to work with.
First of all, great job Goblinboy! I never would've had the patience to do that. However, a correction, nontheless:

As you can clearly see, when my opponent plays first, he wins (he gets to swing for 2 an extra time, and I die before I can hit him for lethal).
Spock is not portrayed correctly. If Vulcans are above petty emotions, what motivates him to join the most elite starship crew in the galaxy? I, on the other hand, have transcended the weakness of emotion and achieved a blissful lack of caring. Apathy is my strength, our strength, which prevents us from being all-to-human. In this spirit, may Meh be with you, always.
Wow, I got coolest deck in my first 3CB entry. I didn't think that Horobi+Urborg was all that clever. It's like Visara, except it survives the Tabernacle.
Going for another rogue entry this time!

*Any deck that can feasibly force your opponent to discard more than 1 card a turn. (The word force here is important. Mind Bomb is still legal, unless combined with Mindslaver ) (NOTE: Remove-From-Hand effects count as discarding)

POTM TROPHY THINGAMAJIGGER
I realized that I'd never seen a Trivia/Games/Contests thread give out real-world prizes for their online games. I thought it might be interesting to try out.
So, every POTM winner (including, retroactively, Dusk_ and Fadeblue) will recieve (assuming they're willing to give me their adress) a customized 3CB trophy. It will be a card from my collection which somehow fits you and will have written on it "3CB POTM WINNER!" and the date.
It's nothing you could sell on eBay but it should be fun nonetheless.
(I'm still working on these)

Also, everyone, Listen Up:
New format for suggesting corrections:
I'd sincerely appreciate all suggestions being in that format. Having the decklist of what I'm correcting in the post makes things 100% easier for me. Thanks.
ANYway,
Feel free to discuss this week's and next week's 3CB in this thread and post any questions you may have! Good Luck!

Back to the drawing boards...
So who won POTM?
im amazed I did that well.

And somehow the entries end on Feb 20th.
By the way, I thought I had found a winning deck with Capsize/Leveler, but it loses to Thallid by 1 turn
I don't really understand why Words of Wind didn't seem to work in so many matchups, but my score's bad enough I can't be bothered challenging. :grin2:

Always nice to come in 2nd for PotM in the first Month you reenter the game... Definetly be submitting a deck again!
Storage Lands seemed to be the key last round, so I ran my fave deck which also hunts them beautifully!
EDIT - Sw33t bug! Congratulations!
I thought I had the cool new tech deck
Damn you ability to see opponent's hand!
7 – zorbop – Black Lotus, Black Lotus, Molder Slug vs.

He then burns to death in the main phase before he can swing for the kill
That's how to remember my name. Or, you could just read the Discworld Novels by Terry Pratchett. I recommend the second method.:)
And dear god, it's on the INTERNET! It has to be true!

Horobi + Urborg can kill the Village.
Heh. That's what I get for not reading the card. For some reason, I thought it only affected legendary creatures.:) Oh well.

Going for another rogue entry this time!
