Rounds are getting huuuuge now. 29 players is a new 4CB record, and I must admit I have mixed feelings about it
Anyway, the meta shifted appropriately to respond to last week's powerhouses, but it created an opportunity for other decks to pick up huge points! Check it out:
1 - fadeblue - Mishra's Workshop, Mox Jet, Smokestack, Eater of Days
Timestack This was a great choice this round. Almost no artifact control at all, while most people were shifting to prepare against Crack and Unmask.
2 - 20Bux - Black Lotus, Swamp, Mishra's Factory, Mutilate
MBC Mutilate was a poor choice. You definitely could've chosen something more effective and had an extra slot to spare.
3 - dasheiff - Black Lotus, Coercion, Black Lotus, Nightscape Battlemage
Taking My Own Advice.dec Very nice combination. The Battlemage's flexibility was very useful in many games. Well done.
4 - Whamme - Mox Ruby, Mogg Fanatic, Crack the Earth, Mishra's Factory
Fighting the Previous War Rather underpowered. Furthermore, the Crack and the Fanatic were somewhat anti-synergistic.
5 - help im a bug - Mercadian Bazaar, Maze of Ith, Mishra's Factory, Thieves' Auction
Ebay Argh! I'm almost tempted to ban Thieves' Auction just for being so difficult Anyway, your deck had trouble forcing your opponent's win condition without playing Maze, so you typically ended up drawing.
6 - Chrome Moxen - Unmask, Unmask, Treetop Village, Eladamri's Vineyard
if that one guy can do it, i can to, actually pats just won the superbowl.dec People came prepared this time. You could've at least switched out one Unmask for Shoal/Contagion, as was discussed already this week.
7 - Chimpanzee - Black Lotus, Solitary Confinement, Squee, Goblin Nabob, Nether Spirit
Confined Nether Spirit isn't a very good win condition without some control. This build is just asking for draws.
8 - Nazgul_Master - Unmask, Sickening Shoal, Nether Spirit, Subterranean Hangar
While being unbanned Nice twist on the Unmask deck. I would've been tempted to try Visara, but Spirit worked well.
9 - Goblinboy - Mishra's Workshop, God's Eye, Gate to the Reikai, Smokestack, Crucible of Worlds
CoolestDeck.cooldec Brilliant! As I found out, Smokestack was very strong this round, and Crucible + God's Eye is a piece of genius. Congrats on almost winning, with awesome style!
10 - Shadowlord - Lion's Eye Diamond, Nether Spirit, Roar of the Wurm, Forest
SpiritWorms LED decks have returned, thanks to Nether Spirit. I would've suggested using some bonus land, though.
11 - Draco9_1_1 - City of Traitors, Elvish Spirit Guide, Isao, Enlightened Bushi, Powder Keg
Anti NetherSpirit Deck Rather odd deck. It's not very "Anti NetherSpirit" since it will only draw against a Spirit. Isao was an interesting find, though.
12 - Pibbly - Black Lotus, Putrid Imp, Exhume, Konda, Lord of Eiganjo
Mini Reanimator The Imp/Exhume decks look good on paper, but they generally fall short for several reasons - no control, reliance on Lotus, weak against Tabernacle.
13 - CynicalSquirrel - Black Lotus, Leonin Squire, Swords to Plowshares, Vindicate
Not quite mise.dec This certainly could've been improved. This build basically became a "Plan A-Plan B" deck, but the control options made it difficult to actually pull off a win.
14 - wonkey_donkey - Saprazzan Cove, Disrupting Shoal, Cephalid Constable, Phantasmal Mount
May I have another.dec This fared much worse this time around. The threats were way too small and slow, and the Shoal was almost worthless this time.
15 - r_x_ - Karakas, Mishra's Factory, Disenchant, Swords to Plowshares
It this decks time again Great metagame choice. It's been a while since we've seen this deck, but this round was a perfect opportunity to bring it back.
16 - Greebo - Dust Bowl, Ancient Tomb, Mishra's Factory, The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale
Mother Earth Nice deck! All-land decks are always fun, and this turned out to be a very good choice for the metagame. Tabernacle and Dust Bowl worked well together.
17 - SALAd - Black Lotus, Black Lotus, Meloku, the Clouded Mirror, Darksteel Citadel
Crack THIS! This did much better than I expected. I always wondered how Meloku would do in 4CB, and apparently it's not a bad card.
18 - EvilDuck - Nether Spirit, Black Lotus, Rites of Refusal, Force Spike
Out of the Loop Quite "out of the loop," Duck! The Rites and Spike were redundant. You should've switched out the Spike for another option, since you were stuck either hardcasting Spirit or hoping for a draw.
19 - Dusk_ - Forbidden Orchard, Black Lotus, Dingus Staff, The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale
When you've lost your branding iron... Fun idea, but horribly weak. It could've done well if people played fewer lands, but the Unmask and Crack decks last round set a metagame that could handle Tabernacle. And you could've picked up many more points if you had something to actually sink the Orchard mana into...
20 - silicon - Black Lotus, Black Lotus, Leveler, Glittering Lynx
Second Attempt Sometimes huge creatures are enough. Decent choice.
21 - NavyJoe - Black Lotus, Remote Farm, Disciple of the Vault, Auriok Salvagers
3rd Turn kill with no disruption... This did okay, despite being slow and vulnerable. And as I always say whenever someone plays a Salvagers deck, Pyrite Spellbomb is a superior win condition.
22 - Grimclaw - City of Traitors, Scalding Tongs, Isochron Scepter, Pay No Heed
Don't Worry, Just Keep Scalding Tongs was too slow this round, and the Scepter wasn't enough to hold people back. I think Pay No Heed was a suboptimal choice here.
23 - Alfred - Avarice Totem, Fountain of Cho, Blinkmoth Nexus, Maze of Ith
Lands = Broken Lands really are broken, eh? You and Greebo showed that lands can indeed be very powerful. The Totem was a neat addition, too, and it won you several games.
24 - organic_android#20 - Black Lotus, Black Lotus, Forbidden Crypt, Donate
This deck is so good it should be forbidden.dec Awesome idea! Basically a Donate/Illusions type deck; this functions fine on two Lotuses, but also ends up giving some opponents extra turns to eke out a win.
25 - Bubble - Treetop Village, Eladamri's Vineyard, The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale, Basking Rootwalla
Good ol' decks never die TET has become a classic in the CB world. I don't think the Rootwalla adds much, though.
26 - deari - Badlands, Crack the Earth, Crack the Earth, Sarcomancy
Snap, Crackle and Pop As a fan of Crack, I must say this is a pretty neat deck. Sarcomancy combines very well with the double Crack. This probably would've done much better if Nether Spirit hadn't been unleashed.
28 - Silver Seraph - Black Lotus, Black Lotus, Kodama of the North Tree, Scryb Sprites
,,Untouchable fattie and little flyer, do I need more?'' Straightforward beatdown. Untargetability came in handy (as did trample).
29 - BlueMage76 - Eladamri's Vineyard, Treetop Village, Vine Dryad, Bounty of the Hunt
Viney VD Vtree Interesting attempt at some tech here. It beats the Unmask/Unmask deck, but not Contagion or Shoal. The Bounty was nearly useless, but the Dryad had its moments. Still, the control version with Unmask is the stronger deck.

Congrats to me for winning 4CB #53!
Props to Goblinboy and organic_android#20 for funkiest decks!
And boooo on help im a bug for most confusing deck to calculate!
4CB #54 is a normal format. This is the third week of the February season.
Refer to the 4CB page for rules, archives, and Player of the Month standings.
Don't forget to submit your deck to me via PM. The format is:
A small correction:
Shadowlord -Lion's Eye Diamond,Roar Of The Wurm,Forest,Nether Spirit
vs
r_x_ - Karakas, Mishra's Factory, Disenchant, Swords to Plowshares
listed as 2-2 should 6-0
He can StP either the wurm token or Spirit but his factory loses to both(since i gain either 6 or 2 life i can outrace him with spirit)
After he swords your wurm, he'll have a factory, and you'll have a spirit. It becomes stalemate. If he starts attacking, he'll lose. Because of that, he has to just sit there and block each turn instead.
Thus, it'll be attack, block, die, come back & repeat - every turn.
It stalemates to a draw.
I messed up my deck. I might have had a chance to win, but for some reason I thought you could play Vindicate and StP I just calculated the mana wrong. Always next week though
Navy Joe First:
NJ: Land, pass
FB: Land, Mox, Stax, pass
NJ: Lotus, play both DotV and Savagers, pass
FB: Put counter on Stax play Eater
NJ: Upkeep, tap land to bring lotus back to hand. Sac Land to Stax and go infinite.
Recorded: 0-6
Should be 3-3
21v9: Navy Joe vs Goblinboy
Same reason, you didn't give me the opportunity to sac my land after I bring back my lotus.
Recorded 3-3
Should be 6-0 (me)
That doesn't work, NavyJoe. When you get the mana from it the second time, you have to sacrifice it due to lack of depletion counters. Then you still need to sacrifice a permanent to Stax, which will either be Salvagers or Disciple. This is one of the many instances in which Pyrite Spellbomb is a superior win condition.
FadeBlue: you have my full respect being able to calulate a 29x29 board like that and this goes to show how popular this game is and how well you run it FB. That aside, I think we should dicuss options on how to make FB life a little easier. I'm gona throw out two ideas and see if any are liked.
1. FB get's an assistant. It's still one big game but we have two moderators to share the workload.
2. Split each game in two. So for instance the first 15 people would be in a second and then 14 in the other. Maybe the winners play each other for fun. So instead of having 812 match. . . holycrap you did 812 matches didn't you? You would only have to do half.
3. Just except X entries.
4. Some one else also starts moderating a 4CB game and for people only submit to one.
Okay so I can't count. Anyway I mainly think FB should get first comments on this, but I'm just throw around ideas.
Anyway, the meta shifted appropriately to respond to last week's powerhouses, but it created an opportunity for other decks to pick up huge points! Check it out:

Recorded: 0-6
Should be 3-3
21v9: Navy Joe vs Goblinboy
Same reason, you didn't give me the opportunity to sac my land after I bring back my lotus.
Recorded 3-3
Should be 6-0 (me)

Still, that's no small task

you'd think people that play magic would be better at math... j/k
Still... that's the number for a CB with 30 people then

In any case, I hope you join the fun!
