Alright it's clear that we have an affinity on our hands,
though in fact Herd/Vindicate did not win, though the one
that did was specificly meant to do so.
The vote is in. Energy Field: Banned -> Watchlist
I'll be keeping my eye on it esp. with Vindicate gone now.
This was an overwhelming vote though.
Vindicate: Temporary Banned
This one was close at 6 to 7. Note I didn't vote but I would
have said banned myself. Since this was so close, this will
automaticly be voted on again in a few weeks to see how
the metagame settles down.
Call of the Herd: Legal -> Banned
No suprise here.
1 - dasheiff - Catalyst Stone, Call of the Herd
Last Call
Mirror was draw, didn't do well against the rest of the field.
2 - r_x_ - Vindicate, Call of the Herd
Ban These!!!
The Affinity of 2CB, despite it not winning this time.
3 - Nazgul_Master - Call of the Herd, Vindicate
We Who Hunger [as long as they remain unbanned... ;)]
See 2.
4 - SALAd - Kira, Great Glass-spinner, Faerie Conclave
Probly wobn't win, but 'sfun
Good idea but since you need the Conclave to cast Kira it wouldn't always work out.
5 - Pibbly - Call of the Herd, Vindicate
Stolen Deck.dec
See 2.
6 - Hivemaster - Web of Inertia, Mobilization
Nice graveyard you've got there.
Not counting Herd/Vindicate you either drew or won. Good tech. Best Deck Name.
7 - Greebo - Anurid Scavenger, Vindicate
Kiss me, I'm a toad
Winner, now I'm really glad Vindicate will be banned though Misguided rage might be just as good.
8 - Chrome Moxen - Blinkmoth Nexus, Sliver Overlord
attack of the patriots, eagles lost.dec
Large creature + Small creature leaves only small creature.
9 - Shadowlord - Crack the Earth, Phyrexian Processor
Experimental
The Crack was generally usless but the Processor had some good match ups minus Vindicate.
10 - wonkey_donkey - Glowrider, Armageddon
MWC
Anti-Call of the Herd/Vindicate Tech right here. Infact against any first card to play is a 3 drop it atleast goes 4 and 1. Coolest deck as well.
11 - deari - Goblin Trenches, Vindicate
Dulce et decorum est; Pro patria mori.
Good deck, Vindicate clearly the way to go.
Rules:
No Targeted Discard.
Cannot force a player to discard more than 2 cards a turn.
All Unglued cards All Unhinged cards All ante cards
All Garfield event cards (Splendid Genesis, Proposal, Fraternal Exaltation)
Mesmeric Fiend - Ban
1996 World Champion - Ban
Meddling Mage - Ban
Energy Field - Watch List
Show and Tell - Ban
Glacial Chasm - Ban
Nezumi Shortfang - Ban
Balance - Ban
Foil - Ban
Vindicate - Temporary Ban
Call of the Herd - Ban
You start the game with both your cards in hand as well as one of each basic land.
Greebo: Why would you lose to third-turn Glowrider? You would just respond with third-turn Scavenger, no? He can't get past your Scavenger, so you can build up mana to Vindicate. Even if he 'Geddons, you just put the lands back into your library.
I'm having some trouble now with 2v11 man my brain is fried.
Damn I think I have something better, feel free to post errors should probally re check everything tomarrow because clearly I wasn't thinking straight.
In 2CB, you get five lands in your starting hand. If Vindicate runs out of targets, Greebo will target himself, then return the land, then return the Vindicate and do it again. He has plenty of time to attack for the win.
Sorry for making all the hard match-ups. I guess having so many colors in the casting cost and having so much land destruction makes everything tricky.
Hivemaster vs Uncreative Hordes matchup:
Hivemaster plays first.
H3: Web
E3: Token
H4: Mob
E4: Flash.
H5: 1 token
E5: Vindicate Web, H on 14
H6: 2 tokens.
E6: H on 8
H7: 3 tokens
E7: H on 5, one elephant down.
H8: 1 token.
E8: H on 2.
From here, H can make a chump blocker each turn and attack with a spare. So H wins if vindicate is used on Web. So Vindicate must be used on Mobilisation. So DRAW if Hivemaster plays first. Note that vindicating plains is equivalent to vindicating mobilization. Also, reversing order of vindicate & flashback makes no difference (attack twice for 3 or once for 6).
If Hivemaster plays last.
E3: Call
H3: Mobilization
E4: Flashback
H4: 1 token
E5: H on 14
H5: 2 tokens
E6: H on 8
H6: 3 tokens
E7: H on 5, on elephant down.
H7: 1 token.
E8: H on 2
H8: Attack, 2 token.
This repeats, eventually killing E. If E holds back, H accumulates. If E vindicates Mobilization, Mist comes down and can't be killed.
Matchup was 6-0, should be 2-2!
With Vindicate banned, I really wouldn't like to see Energy Field going unbanned...
Nazgul_Master
Yeah it's kind of weird having thetm both changed out like that. If energy field completely rules the day next week. I may put a more clear vote like both in or both out or which one stays. It's still pretty clear that we're fine tuning the ban list here.
Also remember it's any card going to the grave yard. Chances are they have land, and strip mine is legal.

It's amusing that when you have a card that you've never really played with before you forget things. You know like that All Soldiers have vigilance.
