This thread contains the results for week 1 of All Blind Tournament #1 and is the start of week 2 of ABT#1.
Week 1 of ABT#1
This round was Three Card Blind.
We started where it all began. The most basic and game defining format.
We used a semi-classic ban list, since we haven't played 3CB on MTGS in over 6 years.
The Entries
01 Feyd_Ruin :: "Three Land Blind" The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale / Sheltered Valley / Mishra's Factory This deck originally got its popularity as a way to emulate TET (T/E/T), while actually beating TET. I've always had a softspot for all-land decks, and have attempted them in every XCB format I've ever played - and I've played most of them. Interestingly, Maze of Ith would have done about the same as tabernacle this round - a choice I contemplated on quite a bit.
02 Reyemile :: "Threat-Force" Dryad Arbor / Force of Will / Misdirection This shows how Force has become viable since the printing of the two 0 drop theats (Arbor and Memnite). Misdirection should have probably been something else. There's almost no viable cards that Misdirection get that Force doesn't, even though it’s the go-to double stopper. Snapback would generally be a better double-exile option, even if it wasn't actually relevant this round.
03 TANE :: "Double Threat Force" Dryad Arbor / Force of Will / Slippery Bogle Bogle is a nice addition to Force-Threat, giving the option for two threats or Force. This seems like a go-to deck when Force is legal. You faced a true mirror - one of only 3 decks to double up. This is interesting, since I've never seen this deck played before.
04 DragonDart :: "Herpes Afflicted Faeries." Black Lotus / Bitterblossom / Shrieking Affliction Affliction is great. Blossom was interesting this round. It allowed you chump blockers against aggressive aggro, and threats against speed. I wonder if a different threat wouldn't have been better. This deck can't win if your opponent drops a Tabernacle, which is an ever present possibility in 3CB. There was also a significant amount of Lotus hate this round. Switching to a land and using a 1cc threat, such as Goblin Guide, would double threat through FoW, and dodge all Lotus hate (it would probably have won the round).
05 Naphtali :: "The Way of the Nargles" Dryad Arbor / Force of Will / Slippery Bogle By this point, I was expecting a completely Force-ridden week with few suprises. Luckily, it was just a rush for FoW at the start. I contemplated adding FoW to the banned list, but figured we should keep it on this week since we never got to use the 0 drop threats here on mtgs (they weren't printed yet last time we did 3CB).
06 WhammWhamme :: "The WhammWhamme Special " Palinchron / Force of Will / Saprazzan Cove This deck quite surprised me. When I first received it, I didn't have high hopes for it. It's much more resilient than it looks. You 6-0d the other force decks, which was nice. Had the FoW streak continue, your win would be epic. Interestingly, you scored about the same as the Misthollow Griffin deck, even though your matchups were suprisingly different.
07 tomsloger :: "WRATH OF THE one individual, yet still quite powerful TITAN" Black Lotus / Black Lotus / Frost Titan Frost Titan is a huge beast in most XCBs, and would have done better if Lotus disruption wasn't all over the place. Unfortunately, all-in strategies are very hit and miss in 3CB. Either they do well, or they get railroaded. This was just an unsuccessful week for almost all all-in strategies.
08 bateleur :: "Double Barrel" Black Lotus / Magus of the Moon / Glowrider The double threat of stopping lotus or lands was great. Unfortunately Glowrider often suffers from the 3-3 syndrom by only stopping lotus on the play, and it dies to any lotus disruption itself. Lands weren't prevailant this round, but Magus was still strong when they popped in.
09 ced395 :: "The Winding Key" Cavern of Souls / Chronomaton / Pithing Needle This deck worked extremely well. I forsee Cavern of Souls becoming a mainstay on cheap creatures. Needle was also quite awesome this round. The two just combined very well this round, each taking a different half of the field. Luckily, there wasn't a lot of strong aggro this round, which appears to be the deck's only main weakness.
10 faradan :: "All my friends like to drive a glowrider" Leyline of Anticipation / Black Lotus / Glowrider It's interesting that we saw a couple of Glowriders (plus a couple that showed up and had a deck swap), but no one played Thalia, Guardian of Thraben. Thalia's cheaper cost and first strike make her a much stronger card, with only Karakas swinging in the other direction. Glowrider is never bad, but unfortunately the Lotus count was low this round. Also, I had completely meant to permban Leyline of Anticipation, but forgot before it was too late.
11 Mogg :: "Ping Tong" Mishra's Workshop / Ensnaring Bridge / Scalding Tongs This is classic beast. I know you did an epic breakdown of decks, which generally puts you in at least the top 4, but this round's spread was very unpredictable. If you could have gotten around Force, you would have done much better.
12 Killer Of Giants :: "Into the Depths of Hell" Dark Depths / Black Lotus / Vampire Hexmage It took you a few tries, but you came up with a nice 3CB deck. One that I fully expected to see even. Regrettably, others seemed to have expected it as well. Between Gloriders, Magi, and Forces, this deck had a very rough metagame. Still, there is something very comforting in the fact that your first hand built 3CB deck was something the veterans knew would be good and planned against.
13 Lithel :: "Gyrating Market Maze" Maze of Ith / Mercadian Bazaar / Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre At the time of your deckswap, you increased your points by more than 50%! Good change. Maze was very strong this round, but Ulamog was what did it for you. His reshuffle allowed you to play through a force, which adds an extra full 4 wins.
14 Draco9 :: "Shriekfang" Subterranean Hangar / Shrieking Affliction / Nezumi Shortfang Your double threat off a hangar pushed through FoW, which made a huge difference this round. Affliction is harsh, and shortfang is great in any limited XCB. Really, you only lost to super fast aggro and things that stopped you from casting out (like Magus).
15 Catmurderer :: "Exilation" Misthollow Griffin / Force of Will / Saprazzan Cove I thought Misthollow was the natural selection with FoW. Turns out it was slightly less powerful then the free creatures this round. Perhaps if this was a land rule round.
16 Antonia :: "Nice Permanents you've got there" Black Lotus / Black Lotus / Vraska the Unseen Vraska is a nasty nasty beast. It basically came down to whether or not you cast her. If you did, you usually won. If only Lotus was more reliable this round.
17 Quasimodem :: "Chancellor of Nevercast" Snapback / Force of Will / Chancellor of the Forge You know, I guess there's three free critters - not just the two that I usually consider. It did the same as the Bogles force, which is interesting since it only had one threat, and the other single threat Force decks didn't do as well.
18 AtheistGod :: "Trinisteel" Mishra's Workshop / Trinisphere / Steel Golem Trinisphere was great at dodging through FoW. It still had a lot of the split match games that it's known for.
19 Parsley :: "Ping Tong 2" Mishra's Workshop / Ensnaring Bridge / Scalding Tongs It's amazing that Tongs is still about the best we can do for direct damage off of a Workshop. If ever we get a 2 damage artifact that’s viable, this will do a lot better.
20 fnord :: "Revenge of the Titan" Black Lotus / Black Lotus / Frost Titan Again, Frost Giant is normally a strong beating stick to contend with. This round just wouldn't let him shine though.
21 NonexistentFlower :: "Rat Tooth" Mishra's Factory / Mox Jet / Nezumi Shortfang Shortfang was a strong strong contender when it got going. If it had come down off another land, it would have done better. Mox was as unreliable as Lotus, and was essential for both of your threats.

Four Card Blind
Interestingly, Four Card Blind has been rarely played, even though it would seem to be the obvious expansion of three card blind. I believe a crucial question has never been adequately answered: Does adding a single card completely change the format, or does it simply expand upon the existing one? I challenge us to answer this question. Will you build in a previously unexplored area, or will you use the extra card to bolster a deck that already does well?
Format Rules
Deck size: 4 cards
Land Rule: None
Special Rules: none
Blind Magic is an online Magic format played here on the forums. Players play with an extremely limited deck size, such as 3 cards. Players begin with their entire deck (ie: those three cards) in hand and have no library (players don't lose when they fail to draw a card because of this). Due to the extremely limited number of play options given with their small deck size, games are calculated, rather then played, with an absolute determined winner (or a tie). Each player plays a match of two games against each other player who submitted - once going first, and once going second. Wins, losses, and ties for each of those two games are calculated by the moderator and players. The actual fun of the game comes from trying to decide which cards you will be playing.
What is the All Blind Tournament?
The All Blind Tournament is a four week quadrathlon XCB tournament, which spans all card blind formats and embraces a progressive anti-metagame. For each week of the four week tournament, a new XCB format is announced for players to enter. Players compete for points (similiar to the PotM points for previous XCB games) each round. At the end of the four week tournament, the player who has accumulated the most points over the four weeks wins the tournament, and receives a real-world prize.
Tournament Prize
This tournament, Feyd_Ruin has graciously donated the prize up for grabs.
Players will be playing for a FOIL Gilded Lotus.
Player Standings
Previous standings will always be posted below the opening post of each week's thread.
Standings will be updated after the current week has been completed and score checking has finished.
Full Rules of All Blind Tournament
Below is the current full listing of all ABT rules, including the Permanent Banned list.
If you find anything confusing or need clarification, either post in thread or PM the moderator.
0. Overview
All Blind Tournament (ABT) is a four week Magic tournament, run entirely within this forum. To compete, players submit decks (following the week's guidelines) which are played against each other. Scoring assumes optimal play, without randomness or concealed information.
1. Game Rules
1.1. Except for the changes described in these rules, games follow the rules for a normal game of Magic.
1.2. Players' decks contain exactly X cards (X defined by the week's format), which begin the game in hand. Players do not mulligan or sideboard.
1.3. Players' libraries begin the game empty. A player does not lose the game as a result of being unable to draw a card.
1.4. A random effect produces the result that least benefits the owner of the source of the effect.
1.5. Each player plays two games (one match) against each other player.
1.5a. Each player is the starting player once per match.
1.5b. If no player can win, then the game is a draw.
1.5c. Games are played with perfect information.
1.5d. Games are played optimally; players attempt to win, draw, or extend the game – in that order.
1.6. Any special rules of a given week within a tournament shall overrule any applicable ABT rules given herein, so long as it is implicitly stated, or obviously implied.
2. Tournament Rules
2.1. Players submit their decks to the ABT moderator.
2.1a. Players submit their decks by private message (pm).
2.1b. A player may submit multiple decks, but only the most recent deck is counted.
2.1c. An illegal deck is not counted. At the moderator’s discretion, an illegal deck may be replaced by a similar deck – in which any offending cards have been removed or replaced.
2.1d. The moderator determines the result of each match. Players may challenge results, but not after the winner of the tournament has been announced as final.
2.1e. A player may name his or her deck. If a player does not, then the moderator may name it.
2.2. Decks are subject to some restrictions.
2.2a. A player may not submit a deck that can – against any deck – win the game or force any card(s) in an opponent's hand to change zones before the end of an opponent's first turn.
2.2b. A player may not submit a deck that can't win both games of a match against at least one deck satisfying all rules.
2.2c. A deck may include any number of any card legal in Vintage (Type 1).
2.2d. A deck may include any number of any card that will become legal in Vintage upon release of a set that has been revealed fully and officially since the start of the round.
2.2e. A deck may not include any cards on the week's banned list.
2.2f. A deck may not include any of the permanently banned cards listed in the next section.
2.3. Points determine tournament standings.
2.3a. Players are ranked – first to last – in order of decreasing number of points.
2.3b. For each match, a player earns 3 points per game win and 1 point per drawn game. However, a player earns only 2 points for a split match (a win and a loss).
2.3c. The combined result of both games in a match is called a "match result". Possible match results are: 6 – two game wins, 4 – a win and a draw, 3 or 2 or S – a win and a loss, 2 – two draws, and 1 – a draw and a loss.
2.3d. A table of match results is posted each round. Its rows represent players and its columns represent opponents. A player's points are listed at the end of his or her row.
2.4. The player with the most tournament points over the course of a tournament is the Tournament Winner.
2.4a. A tournament includes exactly four weekly rounds.
2.4b. Each round, each player receives tournament points equal to his or her average match result for that round multiplied by 100, rounded to the nearest integer.
40
(For example, a player scoring 6-6-6-6-X-0-0-0 in a round with 8 decks (7 opponents) receives 340 tournament points (24 / 7 x 100).)
2.4c. At the end of the tournament, the player with the most tournament points wins.
2.4d. If two or more players are tied for the most tournament points at the end of the tournament, a special tie breaker round will take place to determine a single winner.
40
Only the tied players will play during the round, and rules and formats are at the moderators discretion.
3. Prize Rules
3.1. A prize shall be given to the tournament winner.
3.1a. The winner of the tournament shall be given the prize described within the tournament, or a suitable replacement upon the tournament's end.
3.1b. The Tournament Winner may decline the prize. If so, the tournament winner may designate the prize to be given to another player.
3.1c. Players under the age of 18 are ineligible for prizes, due to federal laws regarding the sharing of personal information of minors.
3.1d. If the winning player was a moderator in two or more weeks of the tournament, the prize shall instead be given to the player coming in 2nd. This is to ensure fair play.
3.1e. In the event a prize cannot be given to a player, the moderator will do his best to find another suitable way to reward the player.
3.1f. No prize is 100% guaranteed, but is assumed upon a good faith basis. Lets face it, with international customs, weird laws, etc, we cannot guarantee anything. We'll do our best.
3.2. As a Prized Tournament, special scoring rules and practices are in place.
3.2a. Players are responsible for their own scoring. Assistance will be given, especially to new players, but it is ultimately up to each player to ensure his or her scoring is completed and accurate.
3.2b. Incomplete scores are considered losses, even to both players of a match if necessary. This is to make sure a winner is determined at the end of a tournament.
3.2c. The Moderator always has the final word regarding scores and rules. Players may question any scoring the moderator does, until the moderator says that a match's scoring is final.
3.2d. The Moderator may, at his or her discretion, determine a match is too difficult to calculate and give it a tie score, or his or her best guess. Again, this is final.
3.2e. Once a winner has been announced as final, that player shall receive the prize, even if errors in scoring or points are shown later.
Permanently Banned Cards
The following cards are permanently banned in the All Blind Tournament.
Each round will have an additional banned list that extends beyond, but always includes, these cards.
Although some random ruled XCB formats could make these legal, they will be banned 90% of the time, and its easier if we just remember these are off limits.
11 Mogg – Mishra's Workshop / Ensnaring Bridge / Scalding Tongs
19 Parsley – Mishra's Workshop / Ensnaring Bridge / Scalding Tongs
vs.
02 Reyemile – Dryad Arbor / Force of Will / Misdirection
03 TANE – Dryad Arbor / Force of Will / Slippery Bogle
05 Naphtali – Dryad Arbor / Force of Will / Slippery Bogle
17 Quasimodem – Snapback / Force of Will / Chancellor of the Forge
2-2 -> 1-4: Tongs trigger on my upkeep, so Arbor can race on the play.
11 Mogg – Mishra's Workshop / Ensnaring Bridge / Scalding Tongs
19 Parsley – Mishra's Workshop / Ensnaring Bridge / Scalding Tongs
vs.
16 Antonia – Black Lotus / Black Lotus / Vraska the Unseen
01 Feyd_Ruin – The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale / Sheltered Valley / Mishra's Factory
vs.
21 NonexistentFlower – Mishra's Factory / Mox Jet / Nezumi Shortfang
0-6 -> 2-2: Shortfang can't both activate and survive (Tabernacle), so Factories have a stand-off.
02 Reyemile – Dryad Arbor / Force of Will / Misdirection
vs.
03 TANE – Dryad Arbor / Force of Will / Slippery Bogle
3-3 -> 2-2: It's a stand-off.
06 WhammWhamme – Palinchron / Force of Will / Saprazzan Cove
vs.
18 AtheistGod – Mishra's Workshop / Trinisphere / Steel Golem
3-3 -> 1-4: AG plays a first-turn Golem, which gets countered.
06 WhammWhamme – Palinchron / Force of Will / Saprazzan Cove
vs.
21 NonexistentFlower – Mishra's Factory / Mox Jet / Nezumi Shortfang
6-0 -> 2-2: Shortfang must be countered.
07 tomsloger – Black Lotus / Black Lotus / Frost Titan
20 fnord – Black Lotus / Black Lotus / Frost Titan
vs.
16 Antonia – Black Lotus / Black Lotus / Vraska the Unseen
0-6 -> 1-4: Frost Titan's semi-shroud protects it from Vraska's second ability. Titan can't outrace Vraska's ultimate, but on the play, Titan can attack and trade with Vraska.
08 bateleur – Black Lotus / Magus of the Moon / Glowrider
vs.
16 Antonia – Black Lotus / Black Lotus / Vraska the Unseen
1-4 -> 3-3: Glowrider stops Loti.
10 faradan – Leyline of Anticipation / Black Lotus / Glowrider
vs.
21 NonexistentFlower – Mishra's Factory / Mox Jet / Nezumi Shortfang
6-0 -> 0-6: NF casts Mox off Factory. Shortfang is a creature and is unaffected by Glowrider.
You left Chancellor of the Annex off the banned list for 4CB. I don't think it's that much weaker in 4CB than 3CB.
Interestingly, Leyline of Anticipation and Force of Will were the only decks I went 6-0 against, I guess my job this week was to check them until they were banned.
Although some random ruled XCB formats could make these legal, they will be banned 90% of the time, and its easier if we just remember these are off limits.
Is Shrieking Affliction enough worse than The Rack to be balanced?
I thought I had Mishra's Workshop/Bridge/Tongs beat, but I totally forgot they could just hold everything until after I played Ulamog. Ah well. I do have a couple of suggested updates though. It's actually amazing how a minor change like playing Tabernacle and Dwarven Hold instead of Ith and Bazaaar would've given me an extra 7(!) wins, with only 1 extra loss.
--
01: The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale / Sheltered Valley / Mishra's Factory
vs
12: Dark Depths / Black Lotus / Vampire Hexmage
Listed: 6-0, Suggested 0-6.
Tabernacle doesn't actually work on the indestructible Marit Lage token since Tabernacle causes destruction. So DDs wins this pretty easily.
--
13: Maze of Ith / Mercadian Bazaar / Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre
vs
14: Subterranean Hangar / Shrieking Affliction / Nezumi Shortfang
Listed: 0-6, Suggested: 3-3
Nevermind, this one doesn't work. Correct play against the discard of Maze of Ith is to play Shrieking Affliction immediately instead of trying to flip Nezumi. There doesn't seem to be any line of play that beats that.
With Bazaar on the play.
M1: Bazaar
S1: Hanger
M2: Tap Bazaar (1 counter)
S2: Tap Hanger (1 counter)
M3: Tap Bazaar (2 counters)
S3: Tap Hanger (2 counters)
M3: Tap Bazaar (3 counters)
S3: Use Bazaar for 2 mana, Shortfang
M4: Tap Bazaar (4 counters)
S4: Attack for 1 (19 left), Tap Hanger (1 counter)
M5: Tap Bazaar (5 counters)
S5: Attack for 1 (18 left), Tap Hanger (2 counters)
M6: Tap Bazaar (6 counters)
S6: Can't use Nezumi yet (would just throw Ulamog and redraw). Attack for 1 (17 left), Tap Hanger (3 counters)
M7: Tap Bazaar (7 counters)
S7: Attack for 1 (16 left), Tap Hanger (4 counters)
M8: Tap Bazaar (8 counters)
S8: Wait
M9: Tap Bazaar (9 counters), at eot, use Shortfang. Discard Maze.
S9: Use Shortfang. Discard Ulamog, reshuffle. Ulamog on top.
M10: Lose 3 life (13 left), Draw Ulamog. Tap Bazaar (10 counters).
S10: Attack for 3 (10 left). Tap Hanger (1 counter)
M11: Lose 2 life (8 left). Draw Maze. Tap Bazaar (11 counters)
S12: Attack for 3 (5 left). Maybe play Shrieking (doesn't matter either way)
M12: Lose 1 life (4 left). Cast Ulamog destroying Shrieking if it's out, the Hanger if it's not.
S13: Can't attack into Ulamog.
M13: Lose 2 life (2 left). Attack with Ulamog, annihilating the board. Wins.
When Hanger plays first, it's fast enough to kill.
I guess my job this week was to check them until they were banned.
The sad thing is, FoW decks aren't actually good in 3CB normally since they lose to all the manland decks. Well, except Catmurderer's cunning build, but I've never seen that before!

Thank you for going through other people's results too.
11/19 v 2/3/5/17
It's the force of will that gets them. If they FoW, they have to pay 1 life. Even on their play, this gives you the 1 life advantage which outraces, so long as you drop tongs first. So, their only option is to force tongs and let you keep bridge, which ties out.
11/19 v 16
I swapped the 0-6 on accident, and copied 19 from 11. oops.
11v19 : yeah, should have been 3-3.
1v21 : The discard is instant speed, which nabs 1 card from me.
On my play:
01: Tabernacle
21: Factory, Mox, Shortfang
02: Factory
21: Upkeep, IRSP to tabernacle, activate and make me discard.
I don't have time to lay down all 3 lands, even on my play, and I need all 3 to win/tie.
I def. need Factory/Valley, and if I discard tabernacle, shortfang stays to flip and kill.
2v3: yep
6v18: yep. forgot to check nontrinisphere race forces force.
6v21: yep. no idea how i screwed that up.
7/20v16: forgot shroud ability.
8v16: yep. no idea how i messed that up either.
10v21: forgot factory lets mox through.
01: The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale / Sheltered Valley / Mishra's Factory
vs
12: Dark Depths / Black Lotus / Vampire Hexmage
Listed: 6-0, Suggested 0-6.
Tabernacle doesn't actually work on the indestructible Marit Lage token since Tabernacle causes destruction. So DDs wins this pretty easily.
I swear this was changed to a sacrifice effect.
It must have changed back at some point?
Edit: they changed it back to "destroy" 3 years ago, and I missed it. Hrmm.
changes updated
---------------------------
my loss to dark depths has put ced395 back in the lead!
(we went back and forth for the lead several times this round)
EDIT:
My anticheat: Fanatical folks vow for Sir Stout.
Is Shrieking Affliction enough worse than The Rack to be balanced?
I have no idea.
I think allowing a player 2 cards before he takes damage is enough room to let it pass this round. If its too strong, we'll see about banning it in the future.
You left Chancellor of the Annex off the banned list for 4CB. I don't think it's that much weaker in 4CB than 3CB.
Interestingly, Leyline of Anticipation and Force of Will were the only decks I went 6-0 against, I guess my job this week was to check them until they were banned.
ahk. I missed adding him on there.
NOTICE
The following have been added to the 4CB round ban list:
Salvagers?! That combo barely fits into four cards and is quite tough to build in a way that doesn't break any of the deckbuilding rules. Have I missed something broken?!

Salvagers?! That combo barely fits into four cards and is quite tough to build in a way that doesn't break any of the deckbuilding rules. Have I missed something broken?!
its possible that it wouldn't get that broken.
but I'd rather just skip it, rather then risk it.
if you want a first turn superbigbrokenguy, you'll need to find a more inventive way.
11 Mogg – Mishra's Workshop / Ensnaring Bridge / Scalding Tongs
19 Parsley – Mishra's Workshop / Ensnaring Bridge / Scalding Tongs
vs.
17 Quasimodem – Snapback / Force of Will / Chancellor of the Forge
should both be 2-0 wins for me (Quasimodem) due Chancellor of the Forge's goblin token having haste. Being able to attack during my first turn wins the race, regardless of whether I'm on the play or draw.

On the play, they drop Tongs. If you let it resolve, you then swing for 1. They do you 1 with tongs, then drop Ensnaring Bridge. You FoW it, losing a life. You're on 18, they're on 19, you lose the race.

yes. but if you were thinking of submitting, the decks are not yet posted
Everyone is responsible to make sure their own results are accurate.
NOTE:
The permanent banned list has been updated.
The following cards are permanently banned in any and all XCBs:
Although some random ruled XCB formats could make these legal, they will be banned 90% of the time, and its easier if we just remember these are off limits.

I'll allow a 1 day grace period for cards to be banned, since the format is ever changing, and I'm not always thorough with bannings.

11 Mogg – Mishra's Workshop / Ensnaring Bridge / Scalding Tongs
19 Parsley – Mishra's Workshop / Ensnaring Bridge / Scalding Tongs
vs.
02 Reyemile – Dryad Arbor / Force of Will / Misdirection
03 TANE – Dryad Arbor / Force of Will / Slippery Bogle
05 Naphtali – Dryad Arbor / Force of Will / Slippery Bogle
17 Quasimodem – Snapback / Force of Will / Chancellor of the Forge
2-2 -> 1-4: Tongs trigger on my upkeep, so Arbor can race on the play.
11 Mogg – Mishra's Workshop / Ensnaring Bridge / Scalding Tongs
19 Parsley – Mishra's Workshop / Ensnaring Bridge / Scalding Tongs
vs.
16 Antonia – Black Lotus / Black Lotus / Vraska the Unseen
6-0 -> 0-6: Vraska destroys Tongs, then Bridge.
11 Mogg – Mishra's Workshop / Ensnaring Bridge / Scalding Tongs
vs.
19 Parsley – Mishra's Workshop / Ensnaring Bridge / Scalding Tongs
2-2 -> 3-3: Someone will win.
3-3 -> 2-2: It's a stand-off.
06 WhammWhamme – Palinchron / Force of Will / Saprazzan Cove
vs.
18 AtheistGod – Mishra's Workshop / Trinisphere / Steel Golem
3-3 -> 1-4: AG plays a first-turn Golem, which gets countered.
06 WhammWhamme – Palinchron / Force of Will / Saprazzan Cove
vs.
21 NonexistentFlower – Mishra's Factory / Mox Jet / Nezumi Shortfang
6-0 -> 2-2: Shortfang must be countered.
07 tomsloger – Black Lotus / Black Lotus / Frost Titan
20 fnord – Black Lotus / Black Lotus / Frost Titan
vs.
16 Antonia – Black Lotus / Black Lotus / Vraska the Unseen
0-6 -> 1-4: Frost Titan's semi-shroud protects it from Vraska's second ability. Titan can't outrace Vraska's ultimate, but on the play, Titan can attack and trade with Vraska.
08 bateleur – Black Lotus / Magus of the Moon / Glowrider
vs.
16 Antonia – Black Lotus / Black Lotus / Vraska the Unseen
1-4 -> 3-3: Glowrider stops Loti.
BWTeysa, Orzhov Scion
GWRhys the Redeemed
GUKruphix, God of Horizons
GRXenagos, God of Revels
GThrun, the Last Troll
GStompy
Thanks for doing the calculations, Feyd. One correction:
10 faradan
Leyline of Anticipation / Black Lotus / Glowrider
vs. 21 NonexistentFlower
Mishra's Factory / Mox Jet / Nezumi Shortfang
Listed 6-0 suggested 0-6
He can cast Jet by using his land to pay for Glowrider, then Shortfang races.
Interestingly, Leyline of Anticipation and Force of Will were the only decks I went 6-0 against, I guess my job this week was to check them until they were banned.
Is Shrieking Affliction enough worse than The Rack to be balanced?
--
01: The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale / Sheltered Valley / Mishra's Factory
vs
12: Dark Depths / Black Lotus / Vampire Hexmage
Listed: 6-0, Suggested 0-6.
Tabernacle doesn't actually work on the indestructible Marit Lage token since Tabernacle causes destruction. So DDs wins this pretty easily.
--
13: Maze of Ith / Mercadian Bazaar / Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre
vs
14: Subterranean Hangar / Shrieking Affliction / Nezumi Shortfang
Listed: 0-6, Suggested: 3-3
Nevermind, this one doesn't work. Correct play against the discard of Maze of Ith is to play Shrieking Affliction immediately instead of trying to flip Nezumi. There doesn't seem to be any line of play that beats that.
With Bazaar on the play.
M1: Bazaar
S1: Hanger
M2: Tap Bazaar (1 counter)
S2: Tap Hanger (1 counter)
M3: Tap Bazaar (2 counters)
S3: Tap Hanger (2 counters)
M3: Tap Bazaar (3 counters)
S3: Use Bazaar for 2 mana, Shortfang
M4: Tap Bazaar (4 counters)
S4: Attack for 1 (19 left), Tap Hanger (1 counter)
M5: Tap Bazaar (5 counters)
S5: Attack for 1 (18 left), Tap Hanger (2 counters)
M6: Tap Bazaar (6 counters)
S6: Can't use Nezumi yet (would just throw Ulamog and redraw). Attack for 1 (17 left), Tap Hanger (3 counters)
M7: Tap Bazaar (7 counters)
S7: Attack for 1 (16 left), Tap Hanger (4 counters)
M8: Tap Bazaar (8 counters)
S8: Wait
M9: Tap Bazaar (9 counters), at eot, use Shortfang. Discard Maze.
S9: Use Shortfang. Discard Ulamog, reshuffle. Ulamog on top.
M10: Lose 3 life (13 left), Draw Ulamog. Tap Bazaar (10 counters).
S10: Attack for 3 (10 left). Tap Hanger (1 counter)
M11: Lose 2 life (8 left). Draw Maze. Tap Bazaar (11 counters)
S12: Attack for 3 (5 left). Maybe play Shrieking (doesn't matter either way)
M12: Lose 1 life (4 left). Cast Ulamog destroying Shrieking if it's out, the Hanger if it's not.
S13: Can't attack into Ulamog.
M13: Lose 2 life (2 left). Attack with Ulamog, annihilating the board. Wins.
When Hanger plays first, it's fast enough to kill.

I swear this was changed to a sacrifice effect.
It must have changed back at some point?
Edit: they changed it back to "destroy" 3 years ago, and I missed it. Hrmm.
changes updated

my loss to dark depths has put ced395 back in the lead!
(we went back and forth for the lead several times this round)

I have no idea.
I think allowing a player 2 cards before he takes damage is enough room to let it pass this round. If its too strong, we'll see about banning it in the future.
ahk. I missed adding him on there.
NOTICE
The following have been added to the 4CB round ban list:

Even changing that to 6, it still looks like it should be 52...
*ahem*fixed*ahem*
You're at 48.
Remember that 3's count for 2 points.
Notice
Somehow channel and balance came off the permban list when I did an update.
Not sure how.
They were suppose to always be on there.

So you FoW tongs and the token is a draw. So 4-1.
Grats! Correcting those 2-2s into 4-1s now gives you the uncontested 5th place for the first week!
