Two Card Blind (2CB) is a weekly Magic tournament, run entirely within this forum. To compete, players submit two-card decks which are played against each other. Scoring assumes optimal play, without randomness or concealed information.
1. Game Rules
1.1. Except for the changes described in these rules, games follow the rules of Magic.
1.2. Players' decks contain exactly two cards, which begin the game in hand. Players do not mulligan or sideboard.
1.3. Players' libraries begin the game empty. A player does not lose the game as a result of being unable to draw a card.
1.4. Each player owns an infinite supply of Basic Lands of each type outside the game. These may be played as if they were in his or her hand.
1.4b. You may play only one land from your hand in addition to only one land from outside the game during your turn; however, continuous effects may increase these numbers (if a card states that you may play an additional land this turn, you may play one from your hand, one from outside the game and one from either your hand or outside the game).
1.4b'. Playing lands from your hand will make you a better person. Officially.
1.5. A random effect produces the result that least benefits the owner of the source of the effect.
1.6. Each player plays two games (one match) against each other player.
1.6a. Each player is the starting player once per match.
1.6b. If no player can win, the game is a draw.
1.6c. Games are played with perfect information.
1.6d. Games are played optimally; players attempt to win, draw, or extend the game – in that order.
2. Tournament Rules
2.1. Players submit their decks to the 2CB moderator.
2.1a. A player may submit multiple decks, but only the most recent deck is counted.
2.1b. An illegal deck is not counted. The removal of an illegal deck does not affect deck distribution (see Rule 2.4).
2.1b'. If an illegal deck is submitted, the deck may be editted at the moderator's discretion (i.e.: If a deck is submitted with a banned card, but can still be considered a legal deck--such as being able to win against a goldfish deck--without that card, the deck may still be included, but without the offending card).
2.1c. The moderator determines the result of each match. Players may challenge results, but not after the results of the first round belonging to a new month have been posted (see Rule 2.5a).
2.1d. A player may name his or her deck. If a player does not, the moderator may name it.
2.2. Decks are subject to some restrictions.
2.2a. A player may not submit a deck that can – against any deck – force any card in an opponent's hand to change zones before an opponent's second turn.
2.2b. A player may not submit a deck that can't win both games of a match against at least one deck satisfying 2.2a and 2.2c.
2.2c. A deck may include any number of any card legal in Vintage (Type 1), with the exception of the following banned cards:
2.2d. A deck may include any number of any card that will become legal in Vintage upon release of a set that has been revealed fully and officially since the start of the round.
2.3. Points determine tournament standings.
2.3a. Players are ranked – first to last – in order of decreasing number of points.
2.3b. For each match, a player earns 3 points per game win and 1 point per drawn game. However, a player earns only 2 points for a split match (one win, one loss).
2.3c. A table of match results is posted each round. Its rows represent players and its columns represent opponents. Match results reflect the combined result of both games played in a match; 6 is a match win, 2 a drawn or split game, and 1 or 4 a draw/loss or draw/win respectively. A player's points are listed at the end of his or her row.
2.5. The player with the most PotM points over the course of a month is the Player of the Month.
2.5a. A month includes all rounds for which decks are due during that month.
2.5b. Each round, each player receives PotM points equal to their average match result for that round, rounded down to 1 decimal place. For example, a player scoring 6-6-6-6-X-0-0-0 in a round with 8 decks receives 3.4 points (24/7).
2.5c. Each week, .5 PotM points will be given to the deck deemed most creative and original.
2.5d. Each week, after the grid is posted, the first player to able to post a deck that can successfully go 6-0 over every deck in the grid will also receive .5 PotM points.

Notes: This week is a little confusing, so their is more than one grid. You can skip to the bottom to get to the usual main grid. Also, the decks are ordered Play deck, then Draw deck.
Balancing Act / Greater Gargadon
Circle is a fair and pretty effective version of Energy Field, only losing to the variety of colorless sources this round. The Gargabalance combo was good as always.
Balance / Greater Gargadon
Braids sadly lost to Removal and The Rack, both of which were in high supply. This Gargabalance was also rather good, but the speed was less powerful than hitting artifacts and enchantments.
Hymn to Tourach / Red Sun's Zenith
While your Sneaky deck was almost unstoppable, losing only to Sculler (making it the best Play deck, and the best deck overall), your Drawvdeck ended up being the first in a long line of decks to take advantage of the discard rule on the draw, but was among the worst.
Story Circle / The Rack
Having no interaction with your opponent until turn 4 really hurt, especially since without Jitte, you have a 20 turn clock. Story Rack on the other hand was a very good choice.
Wheel of Sun and Moon / Figure of Destiny
I find it amusing that this Braids deck didn't use Exploration, otherwise, same effect. Wheel came up a grand total 1, maybe two times I think, giving you a 1CB deck.
Silence / Tidehollow Sculler
Both of these decks shut down the opponent so fast that most decks just can't cope. I especially like the Draw deck. These are very tight builds that almost won it for you.
Liliana of the Veil / Raging Ravine
These decks are both really interesting, and could handle a lot of types of decks. The problem was, they were generally pretty slow, Leaving you a moderate finish. However, I am giving you the Creativity bonus this month, mostly for Pride of the Clouds.
Mental Misstep / Red Sun's Zenith
If you have to ask yourself if you are trying to win, you probably won't fare well. Your play deck would have been pretty good with The Rack instead of Storm World. Additionally RSZ was not great this week. Misstep helped you get past all the Braids decks though.
The Rack / The Rack
Sadly, your play deck got its wish. Sorry for the card DQ.
11 VikingMetal4L- VikingMetal4L's Decks of Taking Advantage of the Land Rule Vampire Hexmage / Dark Depths
Umezawa's Jitte / Inkmoth Nexus
If it's good enough to Ban in Modern, it probably works well, and while solvable, was usually not solved. I have no idea how your draw deck did so well. I guess being a fast, uncounterable, colorless, evasive attacker wielding the best equipment ever makes the best Draw deck. Also, because your play deck also did well, Congrats on the win!
Exploration / Kumano, Master Yamabushi
I like the infinite turns plan, and it even saw moderate success. Kumano was strong when he hit (especially against tokens), but he was very slow for an exploration build. You also get a Creativity bonus for both a fun Play build and Kumano, which was a fun choice.
Path to Exile / Mayor of Avabruck
Even though it ended up being yet another Braids deck, I'm glad you got your deck in on time (if only barely). I liked the Mayor deck, but I think that card really belongs in 5CB, because not using the vast amount of mana at your disposal isn't very effective.

Important Changes: The Rack made it back onto the watch list, and Vampire Hexmage also made the jump. Otherwise, I think the meta is decently healthy right now. If I hear an outcry against a particular card (such as the aforementioned 2), I'll put it to a vote.
Next week is Bane Week.
The rules are simple: Prevent all combat damage that would be dealt to players.
Decks due Saturday 10/15 at 11PM Pacific Time, due to the late grid. Next week, decks will be back on their Friday schedule.
Honestly, I'm at a loss too. Sometimes games come down to just dumb luck. Sure, it's a good deck, but all your meta-calls were off, and it still happened to be the Achilles Heel of the week. Good Job anyway!
Prevent all combat damage eh? I just posted a somewhat similar idea on the modern blind thread. This is going to be an interesting week.
I was just trying out some new stuff this week since I was rather busy and didn't have time to sit down and figure things out. Even though it didn't work, I still think pegasus stampede has potential!

Some facts of magic:
-Terror is an emotion which, when experienced, results in death.
-The pox was a disease notorious for having killed one-third, rounded up, of Europe’s population. Smallpox, on the other hand, killed only a single person.
-A person riding a horse cannot be stopped by foot soldiers, large animals, walls, archers, or even catapults.
I should 6-0 Heart of Draco because Kumano can attack which is one more source a turn than story circle can stop.
I also win on the draw against all the braids decks, because exploration allows me to play lands and when kumano sticks I can kill braids and win
I 3/3 whammwhamme Kumano can deal with emrakul forever but I lose to hymn on the play
I lose-lose to draco9, (which now makes me think that all my numbers are wrong or I am reading the chart incorrectly)
Personman 4-1 I Draw with WoS&M by taking infinite turns, then beat braids
0-6 against feyd, who has great decks, I expect we will see anvil of bagardan a lot or we will ban it because it is an elegant loophole to our discard rule.
3-3 against shogun who beats me with path
3-3 against Tane who gets me with liliana and the extra land rule (which I like)
6-0 against buzz
3-3 against catmurderer
3-3 VM4L who never gets to equip jitte
3-3 against knoboddi
28 on the week
Beating Braids on the draw was a good call but my play deck was a little disappointing given how good it can be.

I liked Pegasus Stampede (I laughed when I saw that it shut down Mayor of Avabruck). It was Storm World that was the poor choice.

Against Me: True. Will Fix.
Against Braids: I'm not exactly sure what happened there I must have done a typo and then copied over the results from the first Braids round. In fact, all the Braids decks are listed as losing to you on the play. All true. Will Fix.
Against Wham: Didn't think about you pinging it on the way out. In fact, you 6-0 him, because Hymn is a Sorcery, and you don't ever have any cards in hand on his turn after his 1st turn. Will Fix.
Against Draco9: it's again a translating typo. I have it right on one chart and wrong on the other, and the main chart happened to feed from the wrong one. Will Fix.
Against Personman: Same as above. Will Fix.
Against Shogun17: Braids. Will Fix.
Against TANE: I somehow had you both losing both sides. Will Fix.
Against Benbuzz: Will Fix.
Against Catmurderer: Will Fix.
Against VM4L: Will Fix.
Against Knobbodi: (Braids) Will Fix.
You and Knobbodi were my last second entries, and I didn't take as much care with yours as I was in the middle of trying to post 2 grids that feed into a master grid. Sorry for the confusion.
Edit:
Updated!
While only matches pertaining to Thundersnow (who's grid I totally botched) were changed, his match against Feyd_Ruin gave Feyd more points, and his match against VikingMetal4L made VM4L lose points.
Because of that, we have a new weekly winner!
(Though PotM changed little, except for Thundersnow).
maybe I just don't understand the layout of the grid, but I'm marked as losing 0-6 to player 12 while he's marked as losing 0-6 to me. I think it should be the latter, as Gaddock stops Kumano and Liliana kills the Anurid Scavenger before he can start recurring the Time Walk.

also I think the grid is in a state of flux at least until HoD updates it again.
What Thundersnow said. Though it should be out of flux now.
I await the other issues that may come up, but I think everything regarding player 12 (Thundersnow) is resolved correctly, and unless I botched Knobbodi's as well, I don't foresee any other major issues.
All of my 1cc decks I'm running in all of the XCBs have gotten a little boring, so I apologize if anyone was actually looking forward to my quirkiness again, heh.
And yay to possibly winning
I should 6-0 Thundersnow, as aforementioned, with one additional fix:
I should 3-3 knoboddi, not 0-6 him. (6 vs 13)
My Play:
10
My: Rack / Anvil
10
His: Path / Mayor
He wins. Drops a mayor and outswings rack after transform.
My Draw:
10
His: Exploration / Braids, Cabal Minion
10
My: Silence / Tidehollow
He drops Exploration and two lands.
I drop land and pass.
I then, very importantly, silence him in upkeep to lock out braids.
He drops two lands, go.
I drop Tidehollow and exile braids. Swings for victory.
Let me double check all your Braids matchups. That seems like something I would have caught...
EDIT:
It is. I listed it correctly in the Play grid, but not in the Draw grid. I listed you both as losing. Fixed. You get 2 more points and are still winning.
Next week is the start of Batman Month, starting with Two-Face Week.
For this week, we try something a little different. Each entry consists of submitting 2 different decks of 2 cards each. You may not submit the same card in both decks. One of the decks will be used only when you are on the Play, and the other deck will be used only when you are on the Draw. Thus, both decks will be used in each match, but your Play deck will only ever play Draw decks and vice-versa.
The Rack / The Rack
THAT is too much Rack! Actually, it was pretty effective, and you would have won before the last few entries. You did well on both sides.
I hate to nitpick, but Catmurderer's decks go against the format rules that were posted.
Well shoot. I completely missed that. While it is very unfortunate that both Catmurderer and myself missed it, but I have to rescind the results from Catmurderer's deck, as those were the rules and the deck pair is illegal.
I will, however, instead of disqualifying the deck, disqualify only the offending card. I believe the more beneficial cut would be the 1 copy of The Rack instead of both copies from the other deck.
Luckily though, you lost less than half of your points, and, because of the smaller spread than usual, you are only 1.5 points lower than you were, and only 2 points below the leader, with 3 weeks still to go, giving you (and everyone else) a perfectly legitimate shot at PotM.
Because of the radically different format found in Batman Week, I have decided to make it a 1-time special. What I mean by this is that it will not be counted in October PotM, and will be its own title. The winner at the end of the first 4 weeks will be chosen as normal, and I suppose you could call it the Villain of the Month for October, while the winner of the following week will be the winner of the Batman Week Special.
As for Batman Week: here is the first tidbit on the rules for that week...
While you will continue to have the usual Land Rule found in normal 2CB, you will have more than 2 cards at your disposal. This should lead to substantially more powerful decks.

Notes: This week is a little confusing, so their is more than one grid. You can skip to the bottom to get to the usual main grid. Also, the decks are ordered Play deck, then Draw deck.
Decks:
1 Heart of Draco- A Story of Balance, Blood and Beasts
Story Circle / Stensia Bloodhall
Balancing Act / Greater Gargadon
Circle is a fair and pretty effective version of Energy Field, only losing to the variety of colorless sources this round. The Gargabalance combo was good as always.
2 Error1- *Billy Dee Williams & *Tommy Lee Jones
Exploration / Braids, Cabal Minion
Balance / Greater Gargadon
Braids sadly lost to Removal and The Rack, both of which were in high supply. This Gargabalance was also rather good, but the speed was less powerful than hitting artifacts and enchantments.
3 WhamWhamme- *The Eternal Struggle Between Evil and Evil
Sneak Attack / Emrakul, The Aeons Torn
Hymn to Tourach / Red Sun's Zenith
While your Sneaky deck was almost unstoppable, losing only to Sculler (making it the best Play deck, and the best deck overall), your Drawvdeck ended up being the first in a long line of decks to take advantage of the discard rule on the draw, but was among the worst.
4 Draco9- *Creepy Ex & *Stay Awhile and Listen
Umezawa's Jitte / Invisible Stalker
Story Circle / The Rack
Having no interaction with your opponent until turn 4 really hurt, especially since without Jitte, you have a 20 turn clock. Story Rack on the other hand was a very good choice.
5 Personman- Dark Destiny
Dark Ritual / Braids, Cabal Minion
Wheel of Sun and Moon / Figure of Destiny
I find it amusing that this Braids deck didn't use Exploration, otherwise, same effect. Wheel came up a grand total 1, maybe two times I think, giving you a 1CB deck.
6 Feyd_Ruin- *Man this Guy's Decks are Weird
Anvil of Bogardan / The Rack
Silence / Tidehollow Sculler
Both of these decks shut down the opponent so fast that most decks just can't cope. I especially like the Draw deck. These are very tight builds that almost won it for you.
7 Shogun17- Couldn't Come up with a Title
Exploration / Braids, Cabal Minion
Path to Exile / Red Sun's Zenith
Path was good against the other Braids decks, but RSZ was just not at it's pinnacle (ha) here.
8 TANE- Levitating Lions & Annoyed Avalanches
Gaddock Teeg / Pride of the Clouds
Liliana of the Veil / Raging Ravine
These decks are both really interesting, and could handle a lot of types of decks. The problem was, they were generally pretty slow, Leaving you a moderate finish. However, I am giving you the Creativity bonus this month, mostly for Pride of the Clouds.
9 Benbuzz790- *Is He Even Trying to Win? & *Oh, I Guess He Sort of Is...
Storm World / Pegasus Stampede
Mental Misstep / Red Sun's Zenith
If you have to ask yourself if you are trying to win, you probably won't fare well. Your play deck would have been pretty good with The Rack instead of Storm World. Additionally RSZ was not great this week. Misstep helped you get past all the Braids decks though.
10 Catmurderer- *Hope This Wins a Game & *DD
Kjeldoran Outpost /
The RackThe Rack / The Rack
Sadly, your play deck got its wish. Sorry for the card DQ.
11 VikingMetal4L- VikingMetal4L's Decks of Taking Advantage of the Land Rule
Vampire Hexmage / Dark Depths
Umezawa's Jitte / Inkmoth Nexus
If it's good enough to Ban in Modern, it probably works well, and while solvable, was usually not solved. I have no idea how your draw deck did so well. I guess being a fast, uncounterable, colorless, evasive attacker wielding the best equipment ever makes the best Draw deck. Also, because your play deck also did well, Congrats on the win!
12 Thundersnow- *I Make My Own
LuckTurns. & Last Second DeckTime Walk / Anurid Scavenger
13 Knobbodi- VERY Last Second Deck & HowlPath Alpha Strike
Exploration / Braids, Cabal Minion
Path to Exile / Mayor of Avabruck
Even though it ended up being yet another Braids deck, I'm glad you got your deck in on time (if only barely). I liked the Mayor deck, but I think that card really belongs in 5CB, because not using the vast amount of mana at your disposal isn't very effective.

Important Changes:
The Rack made it back onto the watch list, and Vampire Hexmage also made the jump.

Last Week's: A Story of Balance
(1) Ability to slip under Counterspell, which I expected to see in a lot of Play decks (but didn't actually show up).
(2) Ability to dodge Red Sun's Zenith, which I expected to see in a lot of Play decks (but didn't actually show up).
(3) Speed. I guess this ended up mattering a lot?!
Bane week will be interesting.
No.
No you didn't.
But you wish you did, as I just wrote it in wrong, the Grids are still fine.
Fixed!
I can totally see this happening, especially for my decks.
Checking these results would be interesting because you would be able to see if having two decks actually increased peoples win percentages.
I was just trying out some new stuff this week since I was rather busy and didn't have time to sit down and figure things out. Even though it didn't work, I still think pegasus stampede has potential!
More facts of magic
Gaddock Teeg does not stop kumano, but liliana does stop anurids.
also I think the grid is in a state of flux at least until HoD updates it again.
What Thundersnow said. Though it should be out of flux now.
I await the other issues that may come up, but I think everything regarding player 12 (Thundersnow) is resolved correctly, and unless I botched Knobbodi's as well, I don't foresee any other major issues.
true, I forgot the non-creature thing
And yay to possibly winning
I should 6-0 Thundersnow, as aforementioned, with one additional fix:
I should 3-3 knoboddi, not 0-6 him. (6 vs 13)
My Play:
He wins. Drops a mayor and outswings rack after transform.
My Draw:
He drops Exploration and two lands.
I drop land and pass.
I then, very importantly, silence him in upkeep to lock out braids.
He drops two lands, go.
I drop Tidehollow and exile braids. Swings for victory.
No longer staff here.
EDIT:
It is. I listed it correctly in the Play grid, but not in the Draw grid. I listed you both as losing. Fixed. You get 2 more points and are still winning.
I'm taking damage equal to the number of swamps I control during my upkeep if you know what I mean.
I hate to nitpick, but Catmurderer's decks go against the format rules that were posted.
I will, however, instead of disqualifying the deck, disqualify only the offending card. I believe the more beneficial cut would be the 1 copy of The Rack instead of both copies from the other deck.
Edit:
Grid updated.
: (
Sorry for the Bait and Switch (that's happened to me 3-4 times in Vintage 5CB...and I've still never actually won).
Your deck still did well, just not confusingly so.
I wonder how many people could have won the most points if they could have chosen between either of their decks in any given matchup...
