If there'd been just 1 more player who jumped in with Tidehollow/Mage (what I expected to see a lot of this round), we'd have tied.
Ya know, I always thought Blossom won out over the Guildmage.
I guess I always thought of Guildmage playing defensively, but he does indeed outrace when he goes aggressive.
With it only tying the 2cc disruptors, I never would considered it.
I expected at least one Akroma, Angel of Fury.
I've always though this would be a better game played based on mana costs, i.e. what's the best 1 mana card, best 4 mana card etc
Because the higher mana cost cards are basically unplayable

I kind of agree, because it basically boils down to finding a good card that could survive all of the 2cc discard/mage/etc threats. The only other option is to ban MMage and all discard. (A simple Rav Rats would have tied 4 out of the 5 decks this round.) But then someone will find a way around it, or come up with the niche card, and it'll boil down to beating that again. Most of the XCBs have stagnated on non special weeks because everyone has to either play what's been done, or find a way around everything that's been done. It's when things are shaken up, and the usual isn't playable, that things get really interesting and fun.
Perhaps not cmc specifically, but I think the format would be more interesting if some sort of limitation was put on it each week. Something that streamlines the field and makes each person really think outside of the normal box - similar to how the 1CBB does. IE: One week where we have to play noncreature spells. After that we have to submit a black card. Then it's on to something with echo. Then any 4 casting cost. ETC. Each week, we all have to come up with something completely different. Each week we would have to look through and test ourselves, rather than try and guess whether we should play A. a 1cc creature, B. a 2cc disruptor, or C. hope that B doesn't show up as much. I think it would be fun, and it should be rather easy to come up with some random limitation each week.
Just my random opinion.
But honestly, I'm happy playing anything really.
I'm secretly addicted to XCB.

I completely agree, which is why I pretty much only play 1CBB now and not the other XCBs. Without some sort of extra rule or something to spice things up, the games just turn into one big "guess the metagame this week" contest where most of the decks are old hat. Sometimes there's a card from a new set that shakes things up a bit, but that's rare, and only really comes into play once every few months.
I also realize that there are people that really enjoy having a stable metagame to read and are good at coming up with a known deck that works each week (Spike). However, I personally enjoy trying to come up with new ideas each week and trying to figure out the off-the-wall card that no one else thought of (Johnny), or at least like having a new puzzle to solve each week instead of the same old one over and over.
Submit 1 card. Any card.
The game follows as it does 2CB:
. Whenever you could play a land, you make take a basic land from outside the game and put it onto the battlefield.
. Game scores are 2/2 (1 win, 1 loss or 2 draws), 6/0 (2 wins), or 3/1 (win and draw)
. If the game would result in a draw, and one player has more life than the other, the player with more life wins
. No cards are banned as of yet
. Random effects best benefit their controller's opponent
Decks & Scoring:
2. Rhox War Monk - Bitterblossom
3. Feyd Ruin - Scute Mob
4. Error1 - Tidehollow Sculler
5. Fjuri - Meddling Mage
Scoring:
0 1 2 3 4 5
1 X 6 6 2 2 = 14
2 0 X 6 2 2 = 10
3 0 0 X 6 6 = 12
4 2 2 0 X 2 = 6
5 2 2 0 2 X = 6
Hinotama Wins
Weeks 2 will be another normal round that will be calculated next friday
Submit the decklists to me yet again, and have fun picking cards

I think this format is very interesting and I can't wait to see what happens when I start adding some newer challenges.
