Congratulations to Lithel and Nom_Anor for figureing out the best card, with a strategy I didn't even think of. Also the Keeper of Kookus did surprisingly well
One Card Blind Backbuild (1CBB) is a Magic tournament, run entirely within this forum. To compete, players submit one-card decks which are played against each other by the moderator. Scoring assumes optimal play, without randomness or concealed information.
1. Game Rules
1.1. Except for the changes described in these rules, games follow the Magic: The Gathering Comprehensive Rules.
1.2. Players' decks contain exactly one card, which begin the game in hand. Players do not mulligan or sideboard.
1.3. Players' libraries begin the game empty. A player does not lose the game as a result of being unable to draw a card.
1.4. A random effect produces the result that least benefits the owner of the source of the effect.
1.5 Whenever a player could play a Land card, that player may put a Basic Land card from outside the game onto the battlefield. (Basic Snow Lands are Basic.)
2. Tournament Rules
2.1. Players submit their decks to the 1CB moderator (error1).
2.1a. The moderator informs players of mistakes in a timely manner.
2.1b. A player may submit multiple decks, but only the most recent as of the deadline is counted.
2.1c. If a player's final deck is illegal, their most recent legal deck is used. If no legal deck has been submitted, they do not participate.
2.1d. All legal decks must win 6-0 versus the test deck.
2.2. For each match players exchange decks.
2.3. A deck may include any number of any card legal in Vintage (Type 1).
2.4. Each player plays one match, consisting of two games, against each other player. Each player is the starting player once per match. Results assume optimal play and perfect information.
2.4a. If no player can win, the game is a draw.
2.4b. A player that can't win or draw plays to extend the game.
2.5. Points determine tournament standings. Players are ranked, first to last, in order of decreasing number of points.
2.5a. For each match, a player earns 3 points per game win and 1 point per drawn game. Matches in which each player wins one game and loses one game are worth only 2 points per player, rather than 3.
2.5b. A table of match results is posted each round. Its rows represent players and its columns represent opponents. Match results reflect the combined result of both games played in a match. A player's total points are listed at the end of his or her row.

Please send me your submissions by 5PM central on Friday September 24th.
Anyway I think the week after next should be
Sliver week
All Creatures are Slivers in addition to its other types
All Creature abilities are reworded so that it gives the ability to all slivers.
PM me if you have any questions about templating, but it should be pretty straightforward considering the number of Slivers that have been printed.
Grozoth 6UUU
Creature - Leviathan Sliver
All Sivers have Defender
All Slivers have "When this permanent enters the battlefield, you may search your library for any number of cards that have converted mana cost 9, reveal them, and put them into your hand. If you do, shuffle your library."
All Slivers have "4: this permanent loses defender until end of turn."
Each Sliver card in each player's hand has Transmute 1UU
Transmute 1UU
9/9
For Sliver Week, I totally want to submit Varchild's War-Riders regardless of the test deck just because of the headaches it'd cause trying to think about the card.
Varchild's War Riders (1R)
Creature - Sliver Sliver (3/4)
All Slivers have "Cumulative Upkeep - Put a 1/1 red Sliver creature token onto the battlefield under an opponent's control".
All Slivers have Trample
All Slivers have Rampage 1 (Whenever this creature becomes blocked, it gets +1/+1 until end of turn for each creature blocking it beyond the first)
"So I put it into play on turn 2, then the next turn I give you a sliver token, then in your upkeep, your sliver gives me a sliver token, then during my upkeep, I have to give you 3, then you have to give me 4, then I give you 9, then you give me 18, then I give you... unless someone decides not to pay the upkeep, in which case..."
For Lithiel's reasons, I think Sliver Week is a baaaaaaad idea.
well for obvious reasons Varchild's War Riders won't be the test deck, and if you choose to submit it do me the favor of working out the matchup vs the test deck.
I purposely picked the test deck options so that it would be simple to figure out if you could beat it,
and then I changed one of them to Chaos Lord, who, if you really understand how his oracle is wrong isn't to hard to figure out.
I don't know how good of an idea it is, but I would like to give it a shot because at the very least it will be interesting.
If we're looking for special week idea, I'd like to see a two-headed giant week. You control two players who share 30 life and take simultaneous turns. Either they play two separate 1-card decks, or else they both play the same 1 card.
two-headed giant week sounds interesting, I would have to read up on the rules ( the last time I read the comprehensive rule book they didn't have any multiplayer formats in it )
I have one rule related question: 2.2. For each match players exchange decks.
What does that mean? I'm a bit confused on that part.
Instead of trying to build a deck that beats all your opponents' decks, you're trying to build a deck that loses to all of them. So it's like you're swapping decks with them.
The funny thing is that the first card I though of was the Vent Sentinal, and I spent the entire time trying to find something better than it. After about the second hour of searching, I just gave up and put in the sentinel, expecting to lose.
I don't know if nom is town or scum. But I'd like to point out this type of behavior is his standard modus operandi.
Court Mafia: Day 1, hatch plan to KILL EVERYONE ELSE IN A SINGLE NIGHT, when the plan only allows him to hit 11 random players, ATTEMPTS TO FIRE ANYHOW (Roleblocked).
In other words....Nom is an impulsive player who doesn't think about planning long-term or listening to others. I wouldn't be surprised if he was town. At all.

sorry the results are late, blame Yom Kippur

No, it's an awesome idea! Also, I don't have an extra i in the later part of my name. =)

Instead of trying to build a deck that beats all your opponents' decks, you're trying to build a deck that loses to all of them. So it's like you're swapping decks with them.
The funny part was that I kept looking at Vent Sentinel for the upcoming sliver week. It never dawned on me that it'd beat the artillery.
No longer staff here.
anyway
