This was the first week where Leyline of Anticipation was experimented with, and to a success as the deck won. The card is very powerful, but unlike in the other XCBs, it need not be banned since it falls apart with a simple Lotus ban.
This deck was pretty ingenious actually. But it couldn't auto win going first like the above.
Rules_
The rules are exactly the same as for 3CB except for a few additional changes:
. In addition to the three cards you submit for your deck, you choose a fourth card, called the X card. The X card means it is the card you cross out, or ban, for your matches. Before a match, your opponent must exile all copies of card X, until the end of the match. You may still use that card.
. There is no rule against winning the game or forcing your opponent to move cards from their hand before the first turn or second turn or anything.
. The final new rule is that if a game would end in a draw, instead the player with more life wins instead.
. There will be no cards banned except that you can only use Vintage legal cards.
Everything else is the same:
. Each player enters their deck to the moderator, who composes the results of every single player playing each other player in matches of two games each.
. Optimal play is assumed. Luck-based effects instead least benefit their controller.
. Un-Cards, depending on which ones they are, may be permitted. It is up to the moderator to decide that.
. The scoring system of the other CBs are used: 6-0 (straight win), 2-2 (one win one loss, or two draws), 4-1 (one win and one draw).
Next week shall be a very, very special week. Here's how it works. In addition to all of the entrees, there shall be the following guest appearance by Anonymous. Anonymous wishes to share his deck with everyone since he is certian he shall win. His decklist is as follows:
Decks:
Leyline of Anticipation / Black Lotus / Mesmeric Fiend X: Balance
Mesmeric Fiend lost to manlands..
2. bmh
Peat Bog / Dark Depths / Vampire Hexxmage X: Ghost Quarter
Depths made an impressive showing. Good job on the Ghost Quarter ban.
3. Summon Legend
Dryad Arbor / Pendelhaven / Ghost Quarter X: Mishra's Factory
Factory ban was odd, but it makes sense.
4. DragonDart
Leyline of Anticipation / Black Lotus / Glowrider X: Black Lotus
Deck is obviously good, but Leyline does fail to Lotus hate.
5. Error1
Black Lotus / The Rack / Balance X: The Rack
Balance is as powerful as always, and this almost always wins turn 1, barring Leyline stuff.
6. Nom_Anor
Mishra's Factory / Mox Pearl / Balance X: The Rack
This deck was pretty ingenious actually. But it couldn't auto win going first like the above.
