A - SALAd - Should have had Leveler SB 24+4=28 (€2nd€)
Black Lotus, City of Traitors, Leveler/Meloku, the Clouded Mirror
Actually, I did the math, and if I HAD Leveler SB, I would have beaten Whamme, but lost to dasheiff, so it didn't really matter. Second isn't anything to sneeze at though (stupid TET)
B - r_x_ - MonobrownBeaTS.DEC 19+2=21 (8th)
City of Traitors, Soldevi Sentry, Powder Keg/Chalice of the Void
Seemed like every deck out there had it in for you.
C - Chimpanzee - Man of Steel 17+5=22 (6th)
Mishra's Workshop, Steel Golem, Wheel of Torture/Chalice of the Void
Two threats and a pret-a-hoser sideboard gave a steady performance. Unfortunately, this week, steady wasn't enough.
D - Technomagus - Because Techno pheerz teh TET... 21+2=23 (5th)
Swamp, Sarcomancy, Tel-Jilad Stylus/encroach
Well, you beat TET. Unfortunately, Stylus-mancy isn't a top-tier CB deck.
E - WhammWhamme - NotQuiteARocketPoweredTurboSlug 19+4=23 (4th)
Molder Slug, City of Traitors, Black Lotus/Rushwood Grove
A solid performance going first can't support a meager showing going second.
F - !Chucklez! - Show me your TETs (Best deck title) 21+8=29 ($1st$)
Eldamari's Vinyard, Treetop Village, Tabernacle/Naturalize
TET is the deck to beat now that Hunter/Hoser is gone. What makes it so nasty, IMHO, is that it's still beefy going second, as evidenced by your score. Congrats!
G - dasheiff - blue.dec 12+9=21 (8th)
Darksteel Reactor, Sand Silos, Energy Field / Sphere of Resistance
And, the inverse of E, an awesome performance going second can't cover a bad showing going first. Chalice probably would have been the better SB choice IMHO.
H - Tahn - <title missing> 9+3=12 (9th)
Black Lotus, Skittering Skirge, Pithing Needle/Sphere of Resistance
Oof. Here we have the worst of both worlds. Sphere was a Mise going first (can't play Skirge and Sphere unless your lotus was a little blacker) and Skirge by itself couldn't race the beefier stuff going second.
Most creative was yours by default: I'm not eligible, and nobody else came up with a good original idea. Only criticism: Encroach in the sideboard instead of the 'detta; that way you can hose decks Duress can't touch.

This week will be a special constructed format: Each player starts play with a token with this effect:
Pay X life, remove this from the game: You may play a spell in your hand this turn with converted mana cost X without paying its mana cost. If there is an X in that spell's mana cost, X=0.
I'm interested in seeing what y'all come up with. Submission deadline Tuesday 8/23 at 5:30 PM EST (When I get off work that day)
The rules: Each player submits a deck with a total of four cards in this format:
Each match will consist of two games, each player playing first. The player playing second will play the two fixed cards and the maindeck card. The player going first may choose before his first turn whether to play his maindeck card or his sideboard card.
(Again, only the player going FIRST may change the card)
As in all CB games, the entire deck is in your hand, you don't lose to decking, and each player gets to see the other's hand, so not only does each player make the best play possible, the sideboarding player may select the better card of the two. Also, random effects go against the
caster
Banned List:
The Rack
Form of the Dragon
Trinisphere
Balance
Strip Mine
Wasteland
Glacial Chasm
Blackmail
Coercion
Cabal Therapy
Mesmeric Fiend
Abandon Hope
Nezumi Shortfang
Pulse of the Dross
All ante cards
Any card that forces your opponent to discard more than 1 card a turn.
Any non-mass-produced card (Proposal, 1996 World Champion, etc.)
Unglued
Unhinged
And, as usual, No Cheese(TM) (No multi-discarding, no 1st turn kills)
I'm just sad that I did it with stupid TET. I really despise this deck.
