Here it be. This was one of the more confusing 3CBs to put together, as I couldn't enter any of the matches decided by the special draw rules into the program without screwing up future results. And then I put in Hivemaster when he didn't submit a deck, creating another clerical error to fix. If there's a suspiciously high number of incorrect matches for you this week, you can probably chalk it up to incorrect transcription.

Congrats to jcsuperstar for winning "Coolest Deck" and 10 POTM points!
Congrats to Stax for winning "Coolest Deck Title" and 5 POTM points!
NOTE: Oddly enough, jcsuperstar's points + Coolest Deck prize (awarded because he best took advantage of the special format) gives him more points than the #1 player. Even odder? The #1 player is playing a deck of jcsuperstar's design! Ahh, the wonder of facts that nobody cares about.

The next tournament starts right now and will be tabulated on the closing day. Entries will be closed July 17, 2005 at midnight PST and results will be posted soon thereafter
THE NEXT TOURNAMENT WILL BE A SPECIAL FORMAT!!!
In the event of a draw game, the winner will be the person with the higher life total. A true drawn game will only occur if the game is drawn and both life totals are equal. For this format, Sheltered Valley is banned.

Ways to get points:
+X points for each point you get in a 3CB tournament (i.e. if you get 30 points in a tournament, you get 30 POTM points)
+10 points for winning a "Coolest Deck" title (I will no longer be eligible for this)
+5 points for winning a "Coolest Deck Name" title (I will no longer be eligible for this)

[-----------------------------] POTM TROPHY THINGAMAJIGGER
I realized that I'd never seen a Trivia/Games/Contests thread give out real-world prizes for their online games. I thought it might be interesting to try out.
So, every POTM winner will recieve (assuming they're willing to give me their adress) a customized 3CB trophy. It will be a card from my collection which somehow fits you and will have written on it "3CB POTM WINNER!" and the date.
It's nothing you could sell on eBay but it should be fun nonetheless.
(I'm still working on these)

Feel free to discuss this week's and next week's 3CB in this thread and post any questions you may have! Good Luck!
If he does nothing first turn I play needle and win. If he does play the Pox I discard needle and win. On my first turn I can play needle regardless knocking out his mana source.
That puts me at 70pts if I counted correctly. 1 away from the win, darn.
Emergency Edit: Wait, Goblinboy you and Ankh-Moporkian split 3-3. Glowrider hoses Lotus. And if my calculations are correct gives him 68pts and me 70pts. I hope I did this math right.

First you say you can pay upkeep cost from tabernacle, then you think needle shuts of all activated abilitys - Do you know any cards in your deck? o_O Hm, well, what forest does...

I use the Hammerheim to pay for the Lotus, then next turn play the Horobi, who, being a creature, is unaffected by the Glowrider.

How about 2-2?
The minute he plays Vineyard, drop your hand, naming Treetop Village for the Needle, and saccing the Elephant (you'll have to eventually anyway). You take no mana burn, and he burns first (since he is unable to use the mana to activate his Village) So he does nothing, waiting for you to do something. So either way, you draw at 20 life each.
Why not just play Chalice for that purpose? It's more versatile (can probably set up a deck with Chalice that wins against Lotus based decks, and can tie against some 1 or 2 drop based deck)

Yes, but it keeps them from playing spells that cost 0 or 1 mana. Turn 1 Chalice for 1 at least forces a draw with TET
