Congratulations to Error1 for winning this week! (Curse you, Mogg, for
submitting the ONLY deck that beat me without also beating him!)
Congratulations to Mogg for winning Player of the Month!
Next Week is a Special Format:
Exploration of a New Format
Each player has 'This player may play an extra land each turn'.
(Sorry gentlemen... Landline now belongs to the guy who came up with the idea for the format. Hopefully he'll start it up soon)
Basic Rules
- Your deck is composed of exactly 5 cards, all of which start in your hand.
- Your deck has no sideboard.
- You don't lose as a result of not being able to draw a card.
- You can see your opponent's hand, so you can always make the best possible play.
- Random effects always go in their owner's opponent's favor.
- All other rules of magic remain unchanged, unless otherwise stated.
Tournament Rules
- All matches are played out by the moderator (participants only submit the decks).
- Tournaments are run in round-robin fashion.
- Each matchup consists of 2 games, with each deck going first once.
- Participants earn 3 points if their deck wins a match, 1 point for a draw, and 0 points for a loss.
- The moderator may confer any number of Deck Awards. Each Deck Award is worth 10 POTM points unless otherwise specified.
Deck-Building Rules
- You may not submit a deck that can win before the opponent's first main phase.
- You may not submit a deck that can potentially force an opponent to lose a number of cards from their hand greater than the number of turns you have had.*
- You may not submit a deck that can generate infinite (or an arbitrarily large amount of) mana on the first turn.
- You may not include a card that is illegal in T1 (Classic). However you may include any number of restricted cards.
- You may not include a card that appears on the 5CB Banned List.
The Banned List
Ghost Quarter
Strip Mine
Wasteland
Force of Will
Trinisphere
Mycosynth Lattice
Form of the Dragon
Barren Glory
Unmask
Magus of the Moon
Cabal Therapy
Mindslaver
Word of Command
Watch List:
Anurid Scavenger
* - Timetwister is legal. Decks that can play a first turn Timetwister + Uba Mask are not. Decks that can play a first turn Timetwister without using it to 'effectively make their opponent discard their hand' are legal.
Balance is legal. Decks that can play Balance before turn 5 are not (unless they can't empty their hand fast enough).
Hymn to Tourach is legal. Decks that can play it first turn are not.
Thoughtseize is legal. Decks that can play two Thoughtseizes on turn one are not.
Due to timezones, the new deadline is approximately lunchtime SATURDAY in the States. This is because I actually need to get some work done on Mondays.
Wow, nice turnout! Was the format THAT appealing? or just a coincidence?
Thanks to Whamme for running Landline as a Special Week, and for calculating all those matches. Some good data right here. I'll start up the new thread in a jiffy.
Doesn't look like anything new needs banning, though it will be interesting to see what happens with a bunch of old cards unbanned.
Actually, the numbers owe a GIGANTIC thank-you (actually, I might use a word other than 'thank', given how long the grid took... I kid, I kid. ) to Silkenfist, who recruited players aggressively on multiple forums. Most of the unfamiliar names are people he personally recruited.
As for bannings... you did note that I banned about six cards pre-emptively, right? Also, Flash looks a bit problematic; Primus-Flash-Karoo kills two lands in the upkeep of the first turn. Error1 only lost to decks running loti! (and I wonder if there might be a 'more optimal' build that doesn't lose to that)
I am only behind mogg by 3 points, if he had not beat you I would have gotten potm.
Flash + Primus is way to good for this format. I can't think of a land playing deck that can handle it and a 1/1 every turn. It's not good enough to be banned in the normal format tho, because its only good during your opponents upkeep
I like ACM's deck, it can win first turn but still manages to be legal.
Is that the most points scored in a single 5cb?
1) WhammWhamme - Optimistic Primus
Azorius Chancery, Flash, Kjeldoran Outpost, Mistveil Plains, Woodfall Primus
----
17) toor - All In
Black Lotus, Black Lotus, Black Lotus, Greater Gargadon, Obliterate
how do you beat him? I can chant in response to his third lotus but I can't see any way you can stop him. never mind, you can just float some mana
11) angelatheist - No deck name submitted
Coral Atoll, Dimir Aqueduct, Arcane Denial, Arcane Denial, Dryad Arbor
----
26) Mogg - Some Favorite Cards
Azorius Chancery, Karakas, Pact of Negation, Simic Growth Chamber, Venser, Shaper Savant
two Arcane Denial's can stop Venser and mogg has no way to stop the dryad.
edit:
10) silasw - Control is Back
Azorius Chancery, Azorius Chancery, Mana Leak, Mana Leak, Meddling Mage
----
26) Mogg - Some Favorite Cards
Azorius Chancery, Karakas, Pact of Negation, Simic Growth Chamber, Venser, Shaper Savant
You have mogg losing this but I think it should be a tie. Who ever plays a creature first losses so no one plays anything.
I'm going to look at a couple matches now, but definitely not 378.
Good point, there is no way one person can check the whole grid. It's probably worth splitting up tho. I'll check the last ten if someone wants to split the rest.
I am only behind mogg by 3 points, if he had not beat you I would have gotten potm.

...I may have reversed those two entries on the table.
Edit: And not thought things through.
Edit2: Error1, I knew it was close, but I checked Mogg and your matches and did a tally before posting. I'm pretty confident in your grid and his grid.
Needle on Outpost with mana open for Denial on Flash.
3 Error1 - Orim's Chant, Flash, Woodfall Primus, Azorius Chancery, Kjeldoran Outpost
vs.
23 Lynx The one - Swamp, Black Lotus, Black Lotus, Blood Moon, Faceless Butcher
6-0 > 0-6
Lynx holds his Swamp. Error1 could start with Chant, but it wouldn't gain him anything, since he wouldn't have enough mana left to activate Outpost. He could make a token, which Lynx would beat with Blood Moon + Butcher. Or, Error1 could play Primus, which destroys both his lands (it isn't a may ability). Then, Lynx would play Butcher and win. So, Error1 will play reactively. Lynx plays Lotus, Blood Moon. Error1's only response is Primus, which destroys Blood Moon and either Outpost or Chancery. Lynx plays Butcher and wins. If Error1 does nothing, Lynx also wins.
If Error1 makes a token, I bounce Chancery in response and win. If Error1 plays Chant, I Venser Chant. If he then plays Flash, I Pact and win. If he doesn't, I attack, then bounce Venser and repeat if he tries again.
Double Arcane beats Venser plus Pact, and Arbor wins.
26 Mogg - Azorius Chancery, Karakas, Pact of Negation, Simic Growth Chamber, Venser, Shaper Savant
vs.
28 farik - Kjeldoran Outpost, Azorius Chancery, Meddling Mage, Arcane Denial, Aura of Silence
0-6 > 2-2
If he makes a token, I bounce Chancery and win. If he plays Mage, I Pact Mage, bounce Chancery, and win. Instead, farik leaves counter mana up, and it's a draw.
Oops. I did Error1's matches before WhammWhamme's, and I missed that when I was doing the match for WW. I'll change that now. Good job with the recruiting; very effective.
Needle on Outpost with mana open for Denial on Flash.
Damn, I really sucked this one out. Oops.
As always, this matchup is won by 'eot token?' and otherwise holding Flash to kill Blood Moon.
If Error1 makes a token, I bounce Chancery in response and win. If Error1 plays Chant, I Venser Chant. If he then plays Flash, I Pact and win. If he doesn't, I attack, then bounce Venser and repeat if he tries again.
Actually, what he does is play Chant on your turn. You Venser. He lets Venser resolve. If Venser targets Chant, he lets that resolve. He then untaps, Chants you again, and if you don't Pact, he plays Flash and kills all your lands. If you DO Pact, he does the exact same thing.
Double Arcane beats Venser plus Pact, and Arbor wins.
26 Mogg - Azorius Chancery, Karakas, Pact of Negation, Simic Growth Chamber, Venser, Shaper Savant
vs.
28 farik - Kjeldoran Outpost, Azorius Chancery, Meddling Mage, Arcane Denial, Aura of Silence
0-6 > 2-2
If he makes a token, I bounce Chancery and win. If he plays Mage, I Pact Mage, bounce Chancery, and win. Instead, farik leaves counter mana up, and it's a draw.
...you should win this matchup, I have no idea why it would be listed as anything else.
I can kill blood moon with out killing any of my lands by targeting blood moon with both Primus triggers. It works somthing like this.
Flash resolves
come in to play and persist trigger at the same time.
target blood moon with the come into play
let persist resolve
come in to play triggers once more also targeting blood moon
I agree with your correction to 3 vs. 26. On 3 vs. 23, however, I think you're still wrong. When Primus destroys Blood Moon, it also destroys either Chancery or Outpost, leaving Error1 unable to produce more tokens. Butcher beats Primus.
The reason you win this and Error1 doesn't, is that you can destroy Mistveil Plains and continue to produce tokens. Error1 doesn't have that option.
EDIT (Response to Error1): I hadn't thought of that. I went through the stack again, and I see that if you stack Primus, then Flash, you can target Blood Moon twice. Primus is better than I thought.
18) Welran - No deck name submitted
Faerie Conclave, Coral Atoll, Pithing Needle, Arcane Denial, Hesitation ----------
9) MT Gunn - No deck name submitted
Izzet Boilerworks, Norin the Wary, Genesis Chamber, Echoing Truth, Arcane
Denial
MT Gunn doesn't play anything. if welran attacks he plays norin and genesis chamber next turn. if he plays hesitation he plays Echoing Truth targeting the hesitation. Basicly welran needs to keep his mana open for when gunn plays his combo. It should be a draw.
18) Welran - No deck name submitted
Faerie Conclave, Coral Atoll, Pithing Needle, Arcane Denial, Hesitation ----------
15) GiftsTrix - No deck name submitted
City of Traitors, Epochrasite, Chalice of the Void, Powder Keg, Soldevi Digger
On the play Welran plays needle on digger. He needs to keep mana open to counter powder keg or it will kill his attacking faerie so it ends in a draw.
On the draw giftstrix chalices for 1 witch is countered. Welran then Needles and plays Hesitation. gifts plays digger witch gets countered. then plays powder keg and epochrasite and wins.
should be 1-4
18) Welran - No deck name submitted
Faerie Conclave, Coral Atoll, Pithing Needle, Arcane Denial, Hesitation ----------
23) Lynx The one - urzatron loses
Swamp, Black Lotus, Black Lotus, Blood Moon, Faceless Butcher
Welran does nothing. If lynx plays blood moon it is countered and conclave out races butcher. If he plays butcher then it is counted and lynx has no way to win.
Should be a draw
18) Welran - No deck name submitted
Faerie Conclave, Coral Atoll, Pithing Needle, Arcane Denial, Hesitation ----------
27) ghweiss - A win-lose situation
Black Lotus, Black Lotus, Rakdos the Defiler, Swamp, Thoughtseize
you have this a 1-4. Thoughtseize trades for a counter and he can't stop Rakdos. should be 0-6.
Yes, it should.
Welran then Needles and plays Hesitation. gifts plays digger witch gets countered. then plays powder keg and epochrasite and wins.
should be 1-4
No, he plays needle on Powder Keg and begins beating down.
18) Welran - No deck name submitted
Faerie Conclave, Coral Atoll, Pithing Needle, Arcane Denial, Hesitation ----------
23) Lynx The one - urzatron loses
Swamp, Black Lotus, Black Lotus, Blood Moon, Faceless Butcher

Should be a draw
Correct.
19) ACM - No deck name submitted
Mercadian Bazaar, Black Lotus, Channel, Demonfire, Pact of Negation - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
15) GiftsTrix - No deck name submitted
City of Traitors, Epochrasite, Chalice of the Void, Powder Keg, Soldevi Digger
you have this as 3-3. Should be 1-4
On the play acm has to play the lotus or it will be stopped by chalice and then it gets keg'ed before his next turn. Demonfire can still rfg the Epochrasite so gifts needs to get the keg back and set it at two so he can destroy it in response. He destroys it at eot in any case or Demonfire will out race him and that also kills his digger. ACM can then Demonfire the 4/4 when it comes back rfging it.
On the draw chalice just shuts the lotus down
19) ACM - No deck name submitted

20) parsley - No deck name submitted
Myr Matrix / Darksteel Reactor / Vitu-Ghazi, the City-Tree / Selesnya
Sanctuary / Selesnya Sanctuary
Is 6-0 should be 3-3. If ACM goes first parsley makes a tokken at the end of turn and attacks with it putting ACM at 19.
Is this the first time some one has won on the draw but not the play?
20) parsley - No deck name submitted
Myr Matrix / Darksteel Reactor / Vitu-Ghazi, the City-Tree / Selesnya
Sanctuary / Selesnya Sanctuary ========================
2) halinn - Armageddon the hell out of here?
Black Lotus; Gods' Eye, Gate to the Reikai; Armageddon; Black Lotus; Coercion
you have it as 1-4 it should be 4-1. On the play Parsley plays the Reactor and that out races the token. On the draw Parsley makes a token in response to the geddon and it trades with the spirit.
20) parsley - No deck name submitted

9) MT Gunn - No deck name submitted
Izzet Boilerworks, Norin the Wary, Genesis Chamber, Echoing Truth, Arcane
Denial
You have this as 6-0 it should be 1-4.
On the draw MT Gunn plays norin, parsley makes token at eot. If parsley plays matrix it will pump up gunn's creatures but the myr's will not be Echoing Truthed. He can play Darksteel Reactor but it is to slow to do anyhthing. Gunn then plays his Chamber and attacks with norin. Now gunn and parsley will be makeing 1 2/2 token each turn. If parsley attacks then it just gives gunn more tokens. Gunn bounces the lone Saproling on parsleys turn giveing him an extra token. Then it's Gunn's 3 2/2's to parsleys two and gunn just attacks with everything each turn and wins.
On the play parsley has an extra token and it is a tie
20) parsley - No deck name submitted
Myr Matrix / Darksteel Reactor / Vitu-Ghazi, the City-Tree / Selesnya
Sanctuary / Selesnya Sanctuary ++++++++++++++++++++++
17) toor - All In
Black Lotus, Black Lotus, Black Lotus, Greater Gargadon, Obliterate
You have this as 2-2, it should be 0-6.
Obliterate stops all of parsley's deck but the Reactor. And Gargadon out races reactor.
He would have been beter off playing apocalypse and neather spirit over Obliterate.

Not sure why I missed this before.
Welran piths and plays hesitation. Parsley makes a token in response. Parsley kills hesitation with the reactor. Welran needs to keep his lands untaped to stop the matrix and the Saproling kills him.
Is a 2-2 should be 0-6

21) Thoomor - Blatant abuse of format
Gibbering Descent, Glacial Chasm, Golgari Rot Farm, Lion's Eye Diamond, Treetop Village
Is a 3-3 should be 0-6. Parsley can't stop Gibbering Descent. Gibbering Descent outraces and the Reactor on the draw. When parsley goes first Thoomor attacks with Treetop Village first turn and plays Chasm + Descent on the second turn out racing the Reactor.

24) Noname - First Deck!
Ravenous Rats, Recoil, Psionic Blast, Dimir Aqueduct, Faerie Conclave
Is 0-6, should be 6-0 and need a discard rule check on Nonames deck
On the play Noname recoils a Sanctuary and plays the rats. Parsley discards matrix and reactor. ( He made is opponent discard two cards by his first turn so we need WW ruling here ) parsley replays Sanctuary and then his tree and starts making tokens by his third turn. The first one dies to the blast. And the second one trades with the rat. But the tokens win the race in the end.

Obliterate stops all of parsley's deck but the Reactor. And Gargadon out races reactor.
He would have been beter off playing apocalypse and neather spirit over Obliterate.
Actually, the trick is that parsley doesn't need to start with his lands in play. If toor ever suspends his Gargadon, he loses the ability to outrace parsley playing out his lands, then playing Reactor, then chump blocking the Gargadon (actually, there are a lot of ways for him to lose, the Reactor is just the most stylish win ).

Noname cannot force an opponent to start the game with a permanent in play. Thus, he can NEVER play recoil unless his opponent lets him. Now, some decks submitted this round lose if they don't start with one or more of their lands in play, but that's not a violation.
2) halinn - Armageddon the hell out of here?
Black Lotus; Gods' Eye, Gate to the Reikai; Armageddon; Black Lotus; Coercion
12) tgva8889 - Variations on a Theme.dec
Kjeldoran Outpost, Orzhov Basilica, Mesmeric Fiend, Orim's Chant,
Vindicate
This one is listed at 0-3, can't be right somehow
8) AJFirst - Jigglyball
Izzet Boilerworks, Mutavault, Spellstutter Sprite, Lightning Bolt, Red Elemental Blast
12) tgva8889 - Variations on a Theme.dec
Kjeldoran Outpost, Orzhov Basilica, Mesmeric Fiend, Orim's Chant,
Vindicate
Listed as 0-0, not correct either.
I'm pretty sure both are 6-0 in my favor, and I suggested all the reasons for whoever's running this on the Wizards boards to see.
When I go first, Noname Recoils my Outpost during my upkeep.
I can either:
1) make a dude, in which case, he can either Psionic Blast it or drop the Rats to block on his turn, before I Vindicate his Aqueduct leaving us both with either nothing or a pair of 1/1s.
-or-
2) Vindicate his Aqueduct leaving us both with nothing
result = tie
When Noname goes first, he can only cast one spell, presumably Recoil on my Outpost. I make a dude at the end of his turn, then take my turn and Vindicate his Aqueduct, leaving me with a 1/1 and him unable to do anything. If he casts anything besides Recoil, I still kill his Aqueduct and leave him unable to do anything else.
result = Shogun17 wins
Is 2-2 should be 4-1.
When bateleur goes first, if he plays Bitterblossom. Shogun17 kills a land and outraces Bitterblossom. If he recoils the outpost then Shogun17 makes a token then kills the Aqueduct
23) Lynx The one - urzatron loses
Swamp, Black Lotus, Black Lotus, Blood Moon, Faceless Butcher
-----------------
9) MT Gunn - No deck name submitted
Izzet Boilerworks, Norin the Wary, Genesis Chamber, Echoing Truth, Arcane
Denial
Is 3-3, should be 0-6.
If lynx starts with blood moon it is countered. Gunn plays the chamber first turn. Lynx plays Blood moon. Gunn plays norin, norin is immune to the butcher so gunn wins.
23) Lynx The one - urzatron loses
Swamp, Black Lotus, Black Lotus, Blood Moon, Faceless Butcher
-----------------
16) Spyx - No deck name submitted
Selesnya Sanctuary, Gruul Turf, Treetop Village, Isochron Scepter, Orim's Chant
is 1-4, should be 3-3
If Lynx starts with a blood moon + butcher, Spyx can chant each turn but has no white mana to play the kicker.
May I also suggest watching Kjeldorian Outpost? Outpost + Karoo is an efficient, hard-to-counter win con which only takes up 2 cards, starts the game in player, and also generates CWW mana for any other spells you may want to play.
I am not sure how strong outpost is without flash. I expect to see some Sulfur Elementals and more land destruction next time. I think we should try it without flash and see if it is good when people expect it.
Azorius Chancery, Flash, Kjeldoran Outpost, Mistveil Plains, Woodfall Primus

At this stage, I feel confident in saying these:
(and I wonder if there might be a 'more optimal' build that doesn't lose to that)
I am only behind mogg by 3 points, if he had not beat you I would have gotten potm.Flash + Primus is way to good for this format.

12 points. See the note last week, that WW didn't add that round's points to the tally? 134 + 128 = 262 vs. 108 + 142 = 250.
I'm going to look at a couple matches now, but definitely not 378.

Good point, there is no way one person can check the whole grid. It's probably worth splitting up tho. I'll check the last ten if someone wants to split the rest.
...I may have reversed those two entries on the table.
Edit: And not thought things through.
Edit2: Error1, I knew it was close, but I checked Mogg and your matches and did a tally before posting. I'm pretty confident in your grid and his grid.
WhammWhamme:
1|X-6-2-2-6-6-6-6-6-6-6-6-0-6-6-6-6-2-6-6-6-6-6-6-6-0-0-6 = 132

6|6-6-2-2-6-2-6-2-6-2-0-6-6-6-6-6-6-6-6-6-6-6-6-6-6-X-6-2 = 132
1 WhammWhamme - Azorius Chancery, Flash, Kjeldoran Outpost, Mistveil Plains, Woodfall Primus
vs.
18 Welran - Faerie Conclave, Coral Atoll, Pithing Needle, Arcane Denial, Hesitation
6-0 > 2-2
3 Error1 - Orim's Chant, Flash, Woodfall Primus, Azorius Chancery, Kjeldoran Outpost
vs.
26 Mogg - Azorius Chancery, Karakas, Pact of Negation, Simic Growth Chamber, Venser, Shaper Savant
6-0 > 2-2
If Error1 makes a token, I bounce Chancery in response and win. If Error1 plays Chant, I Venser Chant. If he then plays Flash, I Pact and win. If he doesn't, I attack, then bounce Venser and repeat if he tries again.
9 MT Gunn - Izzet Boilerworks, Norin the Wary, Genesis Chamber, Echoing Truth, Arcane Denial
vs.
26 Mogg - Azorius Chancery, Karakas, Pact of Negation, Simic Growth Chamber, Venser, Shaper Savant
2-2 > 0-6
I Venser Boilerworks. I Pact Denial. I bounce Venser and bounce Chamber and any tokens. Then, I win. Echoing Truth won't hit lands.
10 silasw - Azorius Chancery, Azorius Chancery, Mana Leak, Mana Leak, Meddling Mage
vs.
26 Mogg - Azorius Chancery, Karakas, Pact of Negation, Simic Growth Chamber, Venser, Shaper Savant
6-0 > 2-2
I can deal with Mage. Pact Mage, Venser Leak.
11 angelatheist - Coral Atoll, Dimir Aqueduct, Arcane Denial, Arcane Denial, Dryad Arbor
vs.
26 Mogg - Azorius Chancery, Karakas, Pact of Negation, Simic Growth Chamber, Venser, Shaper Savant
0-6 > 6-0

Damn, I really sucked this one out. Oops.
As always, this matchup is won by 'eot token?' and otherwise holding Flash to kill Blood Moon.
Actually, what he does is play Chant on your turn. You Venser. He lets Venser resolve. If Venser targets Chant, he lets that resolve. He then untaps, Chants you again, and if you don't Pact, he plays Flash and kills all your lands. If you DO Pact, he does the exact same thing.
...this was just some typoage.
As noted, typoage. I got those matchups mixed up on the grid, I think.
...you should win this matchup, I have no idea why it would be listed as anything else.
I can kill blood moon with out killing any of my lands by targeting blood moon with both Primus triggers. It works somthing like this.
Flash resolves
come in to play and persist trigger at the same time.
target blood moon with the come into play
let persist resolve
come in to play triggers once more also targeting blood moon
The reason you win this and Error1 doesn't, is that you can destroy Mistveil Plains and continue to produce tokens. Error1 doesn't have that option.
EDIT (Response to Error1): I hadn't thought of that. I went through the stack again, and I see that if you stack Primus, then Flash, you can target Blood Moon twice. Primus is better than I thought.

18) Welran - No deck name submitted
Faerie Conclave, Coral Atoll, Pithing Needle, Arcane Denial, Hesitation
----------9) MT Gunn - No deck name submitted
Izzet Boilerworks, Norin the Wary, Genesis Chamber, Echoing Truth, Arcane
Denial
MT Gunn doesn't play anything. if welran attacks he plays norin and genesis chamber next turn. if he plays hesitation he plays Echoing Truth targeting the hesitation. Basicly welran needs to keep his mana open for when gunn plays his combo. It should be a draw.
18) Welran - No deck name submitted
Faerie Conclave, Coral Atoll, Pithing Needle, Arcane Denial, Hesitation
----------15) GiftsTrix - No deck name submitted
City of Traitors, Epochrasite, Chalice of the Void, Powder Keg, Soldevi Digger
On the play Welran plays needle on digger. He needs to keep mana open to counter powder keg or it will kill his attacking faerie so it ends in a draw.
On the draw giftstrix chalices for 1 witch is countered. Welran then Needles and plays Hesitation. gifts plays digger witch gets countered. then plays powder keg and epochrasite and wins.
should be 1-4
18) Welran - No deck name submitted
Faerie Conclave, Coral Atoll, Pithing Needle, Arcane Denial, Hesitation
----------23) Lynx The one - urzatron loses
Swamp, Black Lotus, Black Lotus, Blood Moon, Faceless Butcher
Welran does nothing. If lynx plays blood moon it is countered and conclave out races butcher. If he plays butcher then it is counted and lynx has no way to win.
Should be a draw
18) Welran - No deck name submitted
Faerie Conclave, Coral Atoll, Pithing Needle, Arcane Denial, Hesitation
----------27) ghweiss - A win-lose situation
Black Lotus, Black Lotus, Rakdos the Defiler, Swamp, Thoughtseize
you have this a 1-4. Thoughtseize trades for a counter and he can't stop Rakdos. should be 0-6.
Yes, it should.
No, he plays needle on Powder Keg and begins beating down.
Correct.
Correct.
Mercadian Bazaar, Black Lotus, Channel, Demonfire, Pact of Negation
------------------15) GiftsTrix - No deck name submitted
Mercadian Bazaar, Black Lotus, Channel, Demonfire, Pact of Negation
________________________________20) parsley - No deck name submitted
Myr Matrix / Darksteel Reactor / Vitu-Ghazi, the City-Tree / Selesnya
Sanctuary / Selesnya Sanctuary
Is 6-0 should be 3-3. If ACM goes first parsley makes a tokken at the end of turn and attacks with it putting ACM at 19.
Is this the first time some one has won on the draw but not the play?
Myr Matrix / Darksteel Reactor / Vitu-Ghazi, the City-Tree / Selesnya
Sanctuary / Selesnya Sanctuary
========================2) halinn - Armageddon the hell out of here?
Black Lotus; Gods' Eye, Gate to the Reikai; Armageddon; Black Lotus; Coercion
you have it as 1-4 it should be 4-1. On the play Parsley plays the Reactor and that out races the token. On the draw Parsley makes a token in response to the geddon and it trades with the spirit.
20) parsley - No deck name submitted
Myr Matrix / Darksteel Reactor / Vitu-Ghazi, the City-Tree / Selesnya
Sanctuary / Selesnya Sanctuary
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^9) MT Gunn - No deck name submitted
Sanctuary / Selesnya Sanctuary
++++++++++++++++++++++17) toor - All In
Black Lotus, Black Lotus, Black Lotus, Greater Gargadon, Obliterate
You have this as 2-2, it should be 0-6.
Obliterate stops all of parsley's deck but the Reactor. And Gargadon out races reactor.
He would have been beter off playing apocalypse and neather spirit over Obliterate.
20) parsley - No deck name submitted
Myr Matrix / Darksteel Reactor / Vitu-Ghazi, the City-Tree / Selesnya
Sanctuary / Selesnya Sanctuary
VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV18) Welran - No deck name submitted
Faerie Conclave, Coral Atoll, Pithing Needle, Arcane Denial, Hesitation
Not sure why I missed this before.
Welran piths and plays hesitation. Parsley makes a token in response. Parsley kills hesitation with the reactor. Welran needs to keep his lands untaped to stop the matrix and the Saproling kills him.
Is a 2-2 should be 0-6
20) parsley - No deck name submitted
Myr Matrix / Darksteel Reactor / Vitu-Ghazi, the City-Tree / Selesnya
Sanctuary / Selesnya Sanctuary
|||||||||||||||||||||21) Thoomor - Blatant abuse of format
Gibbering Descent, Glacial Chasm, Golgari Rot Farm, Lion's Eye Diamond, Treetop Village
Is a 3-3 should be 0-6. Parsley can't stop Gibbering Descent. Gibbering Descent outraces and the Reactor on the draw. When parsley goes first Thoomor attacks with Treetop Village first turn and plays Chasm + Descent on the second turn out racing the Reactor.
20) parsley - No deck name submitted
Myr Matrix / Darksteel Reactor / Vitu-Ghazi, the City-Tree / Selesnya
Sanctuary / Selesnya Sanctuary
VSVSVSVSVSVSVSVSVSVSVSVSVSVSVS24) Noname - First Deck!
That said, otherwise correct. (sighs)
Damn grid is too big.
I'm pretty sure both are 6-0 in my favor, and I suggested all the reasons for whoever's running this on the Wizards boards to see.
There are bugs in the grid. A grid this size is... clunky.
Gibbering Descent, Glacial Chasm, Golgari Rot Farm, Lion's Eye Diamond, Treetop Village
------
9) MT Gunn - No deck name submitted
Izzet Boilerworks, Norin the Wary, Genesis Chamber, Echoing Truth, Arcane
Denial
Is 6-0 should be 0-6
Gunn plays norin, bounces descent and discards Arcane
Denial if it's played and plays chamber. The tokens will beat treetop.
21) Thoomor - Blatant abuse of format
Gibbering Descent, Glacial Chasm, Golgari Rot Farm, Lion's Eye Diamond, Treetop Village
------
12) tgva8889 - Variations on a Theme.dec
Kjeldoran Outpost, Orzhov Basilica, Mesmeric Fiend, Orim's Chant,
Vindicate
Is 2-3 should be 0-6.
Tgva8889 Vindicates Descent, tokens beat tree top.
21) Thoomor - Blatant abuse of format
Gibbering Descent, Glacial Chasm, Golgari Rot Farm, Lion's Eye Diamond, Treetop Village
------
14) Cloudpost - Slow&steady.dec
Orzhov Basilica, Boseiju, Who Shelters All, Ensnaring Bridge, Scalding Tongs, Vindicate
Is 3-2 should be 2-2.

24) Noname - First Deck!
Ravenous Rats, Recoil, Psionic Blast, Dimir Aqueduct, Faerie Conclave
Listed at 2-2
Should be 4-1
When I go first, Noname Recoils my Outpost during my upkeep.
I can either:
1) make a dude, in which case, he can either Psionic Blast it or drop the Rats to block on his turn, before I Vindicate his Aqueduct leaving us both with either nothing or a pair of 1/1s.
-or-
2) Vindicate his Aqueduct leaving us both with nothing
result = tie
When Noname goes first, he can only cast one spell, presumably Recoil on my Outpost. I make a dude at the end of his turn, then take my turn and Vindicate his Aqueduct, leaving me with a 1/1 and him unable to do anything. If he casts anything besides Recoil, I still kill his Aqueduct and leave him unable to do anything else.
result = Shogun17 wins

16) Spyx - No deck name submitted
Selesnya Sanctuary, Gruul Turf, Treetop Village, Isochron Scepter, Orim's Chant
is 1-4, should be 3-3
If Lynx starts with a blood moon + butcher, Spyx can chant each turn but has no white mana to play the kicker.
I am not sure how strong outpost is without flash. I expect to see some Sulfur Elementals and more land destruction next time. I think we should try it without flash and see if it is good when people expect it.
