I loved Roach Reproach. I thought it was well written, but also to me it was very metaphorical for the politicians we have these days.
My second went to Colossus. As a huge Shadow of the Colossus fan, I couldn't help but think of playing that game after reading Ilvaldi's poem. The imagery was awesome.
all good submissions this round though

are we bound to prosperity and ruin.”

The ones that stood out to me were On Purpose, Autumn, Sweet Chocolate, and Sap.
For On Purpose, I like the way the title adds a sort of ominous meaning to the rest of the poem.
For Autumn, I really really like the line: "Slowly dispensing chlorine halts the age-old circle of rebirth within the realm of the blue plastic". That alone caused me to read through the poem a few more times.
I voted for On Purpose and Autumn. good job all ya'll!

I voted for Blippy's poem, because it felt like a story told in very few words, but had very large implications. I read it as almost as sad love story, where one half of the couple dies and the other half only has an answering machine left, so they call it over and over again just to hear their voice (I believe this is actually a somewhat common trope used to depict love lost in television and movies).
I gave my other vote to Talore, because I liked the flow of the poem and again, it told me a story that I felt alluded to something bigger.
There were lots of good poems this week though, it was pretty difficult to vote for just two. It's also awesome that we got a full twelve submissions. I hope we can get twelve again next week.
Autumn and Roach Reproach got the votes, honorables to Blips and Crusible.
Autumn was just good. Nuff said.
Roach Reproach was cute. At first I thought it was too dark and hyperpolitical, but then I stepped back and put it into context and enjoyed the imagery of nefarious roaches in a supervillainous lair and couldn't stop laughing.
I think what we've learned in recent history is that there is no theme more dear to all, more relatable, more universally personal, than Food.
