So uh, sorry about my recent lack of punctuality, and my failure to close/open rounds lately. Anyway, this marks my 52nd PRC Poll thread, which in my eyes makes it a Year of me as a host. Really, it's closer to 13 months, but it doesn't make much of a difference to me. I feel like my quality as a host has been slipping, and I can't imagine it improving a great deal any time soon. So I'm stepping down as PRC Host, effective whenever Talore gets my message and locates a suitable replacement. Until then, I'll be updating the thread (you're welcome blippy/belated trophy winners), and continuing to run the contest. It's been fun, it really has, and I think I'm actually gonna miss the hours of copy/paste and putting "regards" at the end of Private Messages.
Regards,
-Zelderex
But ****. We all came here for the poetry. Preve stole the show, great piece, great rhythm, just splendid. And Blippy's made me laugh. I don't know how or why, but it got the job done. Honorable mention to Ilvaldi, I feel like a haiku would've made me lose my ****
I also loved Potato chips it was too fun to pass up.
My second vote went to A Palette of Snow - I thought was beautifully written and I love when a poem actually gives me a vivid mental picture of itself.

Thanks to Xenphire @ Inkfox for the amazing new sig

are we bound to prosperity and ruin.”

the thing about potato chips that makes it entrancing i think is how totally it echoes its subject. delicious but self-admittedly lacking of anything of value.
meanwhile, dog ... idk. it just feels right, even though it's a bit profane. there were a lot of decent poems this round.

my mouth is full of winsome lies -
and eyes are full of death besides
but luckily the soul is wise -
it sees beyond my blindness and
forced failure makes a better guise,
so as i come again alive,
it feels like life's a decent plan
