i like writing poetry in my spare time, so i think that this counts as a personal writing.
Life
-My father once told me, to fear naught but fear itself,
and i scoffed at the man, for the fool that he was,
for i fear nothing at all, the man that i am.
So i walked straight to Grim, to question him so,
about what he feared, and why it was so.
Grim told me, to fear naught but death,
for it took men to him, but no, i did not listen,
and adventuring i went, with God at my side,
thinking nothing could touch me, or falter my stride.
but wrong i was, when i saw him.
he stood on the road, blocking my path,
with a sword in his hand, and a shield in the other.
He stared me down, and i looked back, eyeing him up,
and i felt fear in my stomach, for i knew he was fierce.
With god at my right, and sword in my left,
i was unsure of my fate. Could i defeat this man?
only fate knows, and tell me it would not,
the feeling getting stronger, and forming a knot.
Two men stood on a road, surveying each-other,
and fate played its game, like an evil brother.
The dice were cast, and the fight began.
Leaving one man dead, face down in the sand.
the other man left, to challenge fate again,
this is now when his history, fades to the end.

Quote from Prizm »
Doesn't America have the right to be a bit self-centered? I mean, American culture is THE dominant culture in the world. Every country is hugely affected by America economically, culturally, and politically. Whether or not you think that's a good thing, it would explain why we're self-centered, wouldn't it?
