I had a long description for this story. But my computer ate it. So, all you need to know is that this story brings togther a bunch of characters I used in MTGnews RPG's in a interesting way.
Also, please be gentle with this as it is my baby. Don't flame this please. ONLY CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICSM, which isn't spelled right.
well i finally finished it and it was good. can you post mini-bios on Fear Mage, that Druid dude in the swamp, and the guy that was with the dragon alone before Fear Mage got there?
Well, Truism has some of his past revealed later on in the story.
Fear Mage's origin's, as they were in the RPG's, were too closely tied to the Magic storyline, so I still have to dissassociate them.
There's really not much to tell about Mycorrhiza. I'll give a short little description of each.
Truism: He comes from a long line of bounty hunters, and very good ones at that. His father trained him in many of his techniques and even designed the launcher he uses.
Fear Mage: He comes from a race of near humans known as shadowstalkers. They all have deep purple eyes and have the ability to merge with the shadows, meaning become part of them. As far as the RPG's are concerned he was from Rath, and came with Eladamri to Dominaria, but that will be changed eventually.
Mycorrhiza: He is a druid who is skilled in the arts of fungimancy, or magic with a focus on fungus and the darker side of nature. He had a history in the RPG's, but it sucked and will be changed.
That's really all I have for bio's as of right now. I have story ideas planned for Tempus' life and death, Elthkin's son, and Truism's father, with other possible stories to branch out from there and include other characters I've created but haven't used yet.
If you know of my characters, look for the religous fanatic Jed to come into play for a short stint in this story later.
Amazing story, Fear Mage. It reminds me of Planet of the Apes. Also, the three main characters are really interesting as well. To improve the story, I recommand the presence of gorgeous woman. Lots of them.
Other than that, I must remind you of two things:
1. "Its" is the possessive form of "it", while "it's" is the contraction of "it is";
2. The plural form of words does not need an apostrophe (i.e. ') in front of the final "s".
I saw both of them in profusion in the story. Just a reminder.
Also, how does the story relate to its title, "Preemptive Strike"?
It is just a working title, I don't know if I'll keep it or not. But it relates to the fact that the three heroes were left alone, they'd be able to stop Lord Proske individually. So rather than let them amass a resistance, he stages a preemptive strike.
Also, I don't know how well that point is conveyed in the story, but it'll undergo many revisions.
