I fineally decided to dedicate a thread to my art. Right now it's really nothing new, but I'll update it when I enter the monthly art contest probably.
---------------------Enjoy!------------------------------------
(I will 'hide' the image as soon as someone tells me how)
First is my remake of Juzam Djinn. It's on an angle at the moment, and could use a backround, but for the most part it's alright in my eyes:
Second is my Coldsnap Elf, which I love for some reason, probably the view:
Third is Rancored_Elf as a Magic card. I really like the right hand (your left):
Fourth is Stasis Monkey, a remake for the card Stasis. The monkey just fits I think. Kind of makes me laugh: Goblins!: More Goblins!:
I decided that Warlord, Sega of the Storm artwork isn't very good considering the artwork other games have. But they keep hireing the same artists' to continue their work for them, so someone must like it. I decided (Theoretically) that if I could mimick their artwork, they would consider hireing someone that could do Their kind of artwork. At least it makes sense in theory. Of course truth usually is stranger then fiction.
By no means are these the final images of the "Mimicked" works. These are simply first tries. Flaws should be somewhat obvious.
(Which reminds me: whoever did the Anime drawing of Eternal Witness on MTGS, did a great job in mimicking it. I wish there was more of that kind of mimicking here. darkasecas does a great job at it)

And this one:
Not sure which of these I'll be submitting, but the last one has to be worked on yet and maybe the first one. Assuming I enter one of these, of course.
The two warlord CCG pics are the best technically, the links to the original pictures don't work. When I look at your work as a whole, I definitely enjoy it. I think at this point you need to start working in better color. You're still going from colored pencil correct?

I see. I don't know where else the images would be at
The two warlord CCG pics are the best technically
Why is that? (In your humble opinion)
I think at this point you need to start working in better color. You're still going from colored pencil correct?
Yes. However Photoshop coloring should be evident in some of the pictures. The color would come through better (and the detail of the images) if I could get my scanner to work, but at the moment it's down indefinitely.
The Spit/Malice image-detail came through real nice though. Thanks to a higher quality imageing camera.
With the character in the cloak, I see variations of shading level. When you're drawing an image, the color shouldn't be just one shade. The color should change based on the direction of light. I think the first pic falls victim to this.
Here's a slight modification to illustrate. depending on where the focus is, the fist is either going to be more in detail or less, but there should be a difference in color between them. In this I chose to lighten the guy in back and blur him a bit so that the fist and weapon take center stage. Now the pic is all about the weapon the guy is holding. It's more three dimensional.

As anyone should be able to see, I don't have alot of different lighting in my art. It's just something I never got into; and thus not something I try to add into my work. Though for the past few years I've tried to incorporate it, I keep forgeting. Nevertheless, I'll have to try harder to remember.
Demension is something I've started working more with.
I've actually been doin art for most of my life, so I know what should be in art as far as lighting and demension goes, realistic qualtiy vs The Cartoon art, distance and color, et. Most of my art is only seen by me though, so when someone like you mentions something that's amiss, I take it to heart. Thanks for commenting and helping!
Since I consider Writing an art form (along with game designe [wether it's cardboard or computer], pastels to colored pencils, to collecting rocks or counting in a rythmic manner raindrops on a windsheild, ect.) I've decided to post any Fanfiction I do here as well.
This way you'll get all my Art and Stories in one place. As apposed to trying to dig out my work in the writers forum. Also, should you dare, you can see my idea's for MTG cards in my sig.
Also, this allows me to post my work all in one convienet place instead of various parts of the forum.
I've only got two at the moment, but I plan on doing a third:
Vansan wasn’t a man of royalty. Nor a man of great spells or fighting ability’s. News of his dreams reach to the inner city and even to the Cabal Patriarch, but no one would listen. He told of great power so strong that no plansewalker (if they even existed, he questioned) could match it. They all laughed at him. Head Masters simply threw him onto the streets, while school children cast simple locus spells about him. He headed off to his home, where his Wife would feed him, his children ask of what new trinket he had squandered off some poor soul lesser then themselves.
Tonight he had no trinket, only a silver spoon with the initials K.R.[...]
He swallowed his drink and went back to the bed, where the snake gave off a small spark as he sat. “Lets take a look, one last time...” He jabbed his finger at the head, where he was met with a small amount of pain. He jabbed at the metal plated spine, where he was met the same. He jabbed at the end, where a needle punctured his skin as a large cap uncoiled itself from the rest of the snake to engulf his hand.
“Ahhh! What in the name of-[...]
Hope you all enjoy.

type in the name either Wyvern's Claw or Smoke imp. It'll take you to a card preview of it.
For some reason, I can't link the pages I want directly. Anyone got any idea's?
For this months art contest:
I've mentioned it in the June art thread, but I'm gonna mention it here as well. I'm not real happy with the way it turned out, and apperantly (as bad luck as pointed out) there are a few flaws as far as what the dragon is supposed to be doing/what's happening with the dragon. But I love the tree.
Here is the awsome Anime Crovax that darkasecas did for me. I colored it:
Hopefully I'll have this month's SSCIV story up soon.
No photoshop used on this peice. It only took an hour too. Just having fun. People should take a break from being serious with their art and do some fun peices every year; otherwise you keep goin and stop having fun
Not me!
Well we all have area's in drawing that we struggle with - for example, I tend to neglect the initial outline drawing because I am not that good at it, and I love to do the shading and am much better at that part. But keep trying, we all improve with practise.
That's why some art peices are done with multiple artist (see: Comic books). Because sometimes, we are just unable to do what we would like to do, and instead do what we know how to do simply because we don't have the time/the need to improve
I can see you have been working more on the shading in this one. Crovax's left arm (the one that is 'closer' to the viewer) is really well done, now if you do that quality of shading throughout a piece it will improve your work a lot.
I am very happy with how Crovax turned out; however I wish most of my peices required only solid colors like the ones used. Instead they involve color blending on the smallest levels of Colored Pencil work, which doesn't come through very strong with my scanner. Most of my digital work comes through with better shading then my real world work
Oh, I love this one! It's very cute in a cartoony kind of way. I have always had a thing for neat looking robots though.
Then I've done my job. I'm printing it off for my casual deck. I love the little men being pushed out of it's way.
Nothing really new done latly other then the monthly art contest. I chose Chicken a la King in the future. Well we all know chickens end up in buckets sold at fast food resteraunts, and they taste good, taste like everything and taste even better when crunchy!
Nice, I like the art. One thing I'd suggest though, is to increase the contrast by around 30-40% on your pictures. This should turn nearly all the negative-space into a single shade, so you can easily mess with it and it looks a lot cleaner.

Thanks for the advise. I'll be sure to use it!
Some new stuff:
Possessed Dragon:
This one I've been working on for a long time (off and on), and it's not the best and certainly has it's glitches, but I think its cool. It's one of the first peices I did in photoshop completely with mouse and tablet. It still needs work done, but I doubt I'll bother to really try to fix it.
Volcano:
This one I did earlier today for the fun of it. I think it looks a little too Sixties for my taste, but I thought I'd show it anyways as long as I'm showin pictures.
Edit:
Battle Axe Fist:
Did this one today, didn't turn out like I thought, but I still like it.
Edit 2:
A different take on Battle Axe Fist:
A little too photoshoped for my tastes, I still think it looks neat:
Edit 3:
Battle Axe Fist:
Revised. Cleaner looking and it makes more sense looking at it (I guess the Proportions are set better is the sentance I'm looking for here):
I don't know what that is.
Wiki says a Liger is a type of tiger and lion.
Google images gives me the same, but also some dude dressed kinda like a robot.
If any of these are right, or if both are wrong just mention it. But for the most part the human anatomy may not be my best freind. Then again, no anatomy really is.
