Welcome to the June Photoshop Contest! The theme this month is... Blockbuster Summer of Magic Every summer we witness some of the most dazzling movies that Hollywood and the film industry can dish to us! Your goal this month is to take any movie poster and "spoof" it into a Magic: The Gathering poster. Instead of Ghostbusters, you might do spiritbusters stopping a random spirit in Magic. There are many ways to take this, but I'm looking for HUMOR the most, so keep that in mind! Good luck!
*thanks to Warden for the idea!
Wasn't this already done once before? I recall an American Pie = Color Pie entry, but none the less, this is definately fun. I've got an awesome idea.
It doesn't have to be movies coming out this year right? Just any movie poster?
There was something remotely similar but not exactly. And yes, you can use any movie you want. An upcoming release, a new release, or something past. Just as long as it's not something you make up that isn't an actual movie.
Also...
Everyone i apologize for the late posting of the artwork contests and photoshop contests. Monday, after I returned from a Sunday evening of Magic at my local shop, I've been sick. A sore throat, congestion, and a continual ache, has throttled me since Monday. Normally I have them up by the first or no later than the second. I'll try to stay on top of this better from now on.
I mean, hell, we're all on a forum for something that most people would describe as a "children's card game"...do what makes you happy. You are never too old to enjoy yourself.
I would just like no remind everyone that there are only three days left en this contest and we are yet to have a single entry. I realize this is a somewhat difficult theme, but it would be nice to have at least a few entries.
I will extend the contest a day or two if I have to, but otherwise (assuming we get some entries) this contest will run as planned.
I am working on this contest this weekend. I hope to have something, albeit rather crude, to submit before the deadline. I made a crude mockup the first week, but haven't had time to refine it since then. If I'm truly in a bind, I'll submit the mockup.
I had an idea for this contest almost from the start (parody a movie and cast certain characters as magic characters/creatures) and then a week later, someone in another forum on another site posted, "What if Magic were {movie I chose to parody}, who would depict character A, B, C, and D?"

Well honestly, it doesn't matter whether or not you came up with the idea or even if someone has done it before. All that matters is that you're the one doing the photoshopping and the image you enter into the contest was made by you.
As for not having something done in time, try to get it done by Monday (June 30). As I said, I may extend this due to lack of entries, but even if I do it won't be more than a few days.
Instead of Dorothy, we have Little Girl. Instead of the Tin Man, we have Karn, Silver Golem. Instead of the Cowardly Lion, we have Savannah Lions. And instead of the Scarecrow, we have.... well, Scarecrow.
All of them travel to travel to see the great and powerful Wizards of the Coast!

I was planning on closing it now, but seeing as you seem to need more time I'll leave it open until at least tomorrow evening. Anyway, I still need to come up with a good idea for the June photoshop contest.

I don't care if I was framed for murder if I only got a warning I would let it go.

I actually had a similar idea (although, I was only going to depict one Legendary creature), but thought I'd go with a classic old movie poster.
Enjoy -- hope it makes ya'll giggle
