What program are you using to make these? MSPaint? No offense, but you need to get some different software if you want to make images with any decent quality. I recommend (if you have money) Adobe Photoshop or (if you don't have money) the GIMP. The GIMP is free and (apparently...I can't say for sure as I've never used it) almost as good as Photoshop, but there's obviously something that PS can do that the GIMP can't since the GIMP hasn't taken completley over the market even though it's free.

The GIMP is free, and photoshop basically has better features if you're planing on printing things.
Also, at the op, you seriously need to find hi-res art, cutting and pasting art from auot card, and then enlarging it just doesn't cut it.
The banners really need borders and higher-res art, so you don't have to stretch it. If you want to learn how to use Photoshop, you should check out some of the tutes in our Tutorials section.

There are tons more if you search for something like "Photoshop Tutorial" on Yahoo or something like that...millions of really good 'shopers out there who like to show off their stuff and teach a few folks along the way.
does it mean you want to join or i'm mistaken? by the way, it is really cool! I can't change the opening post right now since i'm on a celular phone. but when i'll be back from vacation, i'll change it!
Another great place for tutorials and assistance via forums is Worth1000. A visit there a few months ago led me to getting GIMP and tooling around. If nothing else, its a treasure trove of ideas.
ADD: Even if you are using GIMP, the PS tutorials at Worth1000 are still excellent- a tool might be labeled differently in GIMP, but you'll be forced to understand what you're doing better by digging around and getting the info you need.
Well I used to use Jasc Paint Shop Pro before and also Adobe Photoshop Deluxe. That was 6 years ago. I know how to do everything, but I just have a problem getting filters, brushes and the such for Gimp. My computer was stolen with the 2 programs I mentioned earlier in it, and I have a hand me down custom computer and have to mae sure it can even handle these graphic programs I am using and all the saved files I am putting onthis computer. Thanx for the help I will check it out anyways.
hey zero tolerenc3, I will change the opening post to add your name to it and change the pic when i'll be back which is next monday. i'll try to change your pic by adding our names to it.

i tried changing the pic to add our names but nothing fits... i'll keep it as it is. if you want, you can tell me what art you did so i can put it on the opening post. ok?
@Kak - I like your sig...simple and elegant. Alot better on the scaling and blending. I need to learn how to make that E. I will get you some of my work in soon.
Hey. Welcome to the shops. In Photoshop, their is a section called Image>Scale Image I think....or around that name. I know that is what it is called in GIMP. It scales the image so it doesn't make it look stretched out. Also you can get high res images of pictures by google or the best way looking at the artists website-in the gallery. Thats jsut my $.02 and also what I do for images
yes, i've got a link to an article that gives all the magic artists' website and that is where i get my art(i didn't use it at the beginning but now i do). as for the scaling, well, i used to do it with trial and error but now that i went on tutorials, i know how to do it. if you notice, my new banner and my avatars are well scaled? don't you see an amelioration?
Rules:
1. We can make changes necessary to requests.
2. Remember, it is only a 600px by 100px space for sigs and 100px by 100px for avvies. Only so much can fit.
3. Confirm that you have recieved the sig and if you approve of it or not.
4. Provide all non-magic artwork for signatures or avatars.
5.no minimum post needed
6.Make a link to this site under your banner
