@ Wingederaser Ugh, how did I not think of that? I am doing a play set (not that I'd ever play them) of Incite and I didn't even think about "chargin mah lazer".
I'll post mine as soon as they are done, but it would be awesome to see others people take on it too.
While we are on the topic of Card Kitty Wrath of gods, I wanted to post a previous one done by the Kitty that I am now the proud owner of. This is one of the crown jewels of my collection, up there with my lotus and all my altered duals(by laura lou).
The picture doesn't even do it justice, the thing is absolutely phenomenal.
Just to repost one of the best alters ever and clarify that this was done by Card Kitty and not me. After some requests for commisions, I thought it was worth the clarification and the repost Check the auction site or contact Card Kitty for a quality wrath of your own.
Thank you all for the compliments, yawg,ben_hurt, johnny42storm and eyeolas.
I've made about 25 pieces this kind of basic land for myself and I will make more when I have time. They are all original arts, and it's extremely difficult to use pencil on white acrylics for so many details, that's something like using pencil on plastic, so it takes a lot of time to finish each of them.
One question, since it's pencil used, can anyone tell me how to seal those drawing on cards please? How about acrylic liquid meduim? Thanks
By the way, great red Akroma and Garruk eyeolas, so clean.
Just finished a couple. Terrible pictures to follow...

And a personal project I just picked up. Its actually the first Dual land I can call my own... the kind only a mother could love (or a first time owner I suppose). Photos are a bit large.
and the back...
A friend gave this to me and told me to alter it for the same charity tournament I did my last two pieces for. I wasn't feeling very creative, but I feel I made big steps forward on my color matching ability.
@ffyouth: Still LOVE the Japanese styled penciled lands. Absolutely amazing detail work! Cant imagine how long that has to take.

Been slow going for us the last week or so, have done some work and have a bunch of cards in the works, though not much fully completed.
I feel I'm improving under CatalystSwitch's guidance, and though I'm not completely satisfied with the face (and she did the hair), I've gotten alot better at eyes, and color matching.
Always room for improvement though.
Its anime stuff, so don't look if your an anti-anime type artist!! (Still fun to paint and something I can work on my skills with, and maybe find a buyer, even when its not complete perfection :P)
That Badlands must have been a steal. Are you planning on restoring it?
I asked the dealer how much he would sell it for, and he had the stones to tell me $20. But I traded two alters for it. He's having me repair a set of the original duals, some in bad shape, some with sharpied white borders (hurt to look at them!), and I'm doing two of them for the bad lands.
Probably not the most "fair" of trades, but the opportunity for the "before and after" to set up at a booth at the next pre-release is priceless.
this one I did entirely because I couldn't sleep. It suffered quite a bit from my perfectionism. There were so many times I was like, ok, just one more little...aww crap, and I'd have to start that section over. I ended up over-sealing it because I got a big obvious fingerprint on it before the first coat dried. The scan is even worse than normal. I dunno, I shouldn't do this late at night when I'm tired.
Thank goodness it was just an uncommon. I continue to improve my color matching.
Lots of great stuff here lately, i've been gone for 3 weeks and i gotta say a lot of the stuff coming up lately is awesome ^^,.
Also, wondering if any card alterers are going to GP Gothenburg? I'd love to meet anyone with altered art in Gothenburg, it's going to be a blast, and it would be nice to see some awesome altered art in Gothenburg as well! I'm not expecting much as almost all alterers are in the US, but doesn't hurt to throw it out there for the European alterers, or any Us alterers coming along ^^,.
I'd most definitely like to see the before and after on those duals. Also, $20 is far overpriced
I also think the Mystical tutor alter is a very interesting idea, but I think the placement of where the guy's head is is what the previous poster was thinking. But, the idea/concept of the mirror is very awesome!

But I was just wondering if anyone had some spare time to paint up a CHARGIN MAH LAZAR Incite...
The guy in the background just looks like he needs to be chargin a lazar....
Thanks in advance
*Edit*
Is this how most people begin the process of altering a card? Or do most just do a base coat?

@ffyouth - how many of those lands are you up to? Yawg's right, that would be an INCREDIBLE EDH deck if every land were those.
I'll post mine as soon as they are done, but it would be awesome to see others people take on it too.

Wow, these technical drawings really appeal to me. Not so much as magic cards, but merely as nice art done like prints. Great job!

Those are great! Making credible environments around pre-existing art is really tough and all three use the space really well.
